Nicole hosted at 25th birthday celebration for her sister.  She wanted to do something clean, crisp and modern but also a bit glamorous.  She also wanted to highlight the 25th anniversary of her birth so she chose a silver and white color scheme.  The party was just desserts and drinks.  There was a champagne station with some fun mixers, orange juice, cranberry juice, chambord and sugar sticks.

Grab your Pinkalicious books and follow along.  Think “pink”, everything “pink”.  It’s so girly and fabulous.  There’s a lemonade stand holding none other than “pink” lemonade which was depicted from the “Pink Drink”.  Doily banners and fabric pom pom’s adorned the party.  Felt wands for the guests and homemade bubble jars.  How grand!

This paper plate backdrop is such an amazing idea!  Using foam core board, velcro and a package of square plates you can create this backdrop.  You could use any color plates to suit the party theme.  Keep your board and change out the square plates for another occasion.

Willy nilly silly old bear!  I adore this vintage Winnie the Pooh baby shower using the earth’s elements.  Follow the tutorial to make your own invitation and deliver it in an empty honey container.  The guest sign in was written messages on honeycombs which would later be hung on the nursery door.  I think this party would be a great idea for a birthday party too!

Where’s The Tide Pod?

Wanna have some fun with me Sunday night during the Oscars?  If so, let’s see who see’s the “Tide Pod” commercial first during the Oscars!  {THIS JUST IN:  The commercial should be airing between 10 and 10:30 PM!}

The Tide commercial premiering on Sunday during the Oscars not only looks and feels differently than a typical ad for laundry detergent, it includes a “Shazam bug” which will allow viewers {us} to leverage Shazam’s music recognition software to get content about Tide Pods delivered directly to our smart phones.  In addition to informational product videos, we will get access to free product samples as well as a free download of the song from the commercial.  {I’m dying to know what the song is!}

What is Shazam?

Shazam is a mobile application that uses sound recognition technology to immediately tell you information about a song that is currently playing.  I’m sure you’ve heard of it and might even have it already.  It’s one of my favorites!

How To Use the App:

1.  Download Shazam to a smart phone {for free} and open it while a song or audio is playing.

2.  Next, click the “Shazam” button and the app will take a few seconds to listen to the song playing.

3.  Shazam then automatically and immediately tells you the name of the song and the artist.

4.  Here’s where it gets interesting!  The app works much the same way with ads as it does with recognizing music.  The app is trained to recognize the audio from ads, so when we view a “Shazam”  ad, instead of receiving information about the song and artist, we’ll receive information about the product.

I’m going to be on the lookout for the “Shazamable” Tide Pod commercial during the Oscars.  Are you?
