Meet actor and Special FX artist C. Andrew Nelson at the show.

He spent six years at LucasArts Entertainment Company where he was a VFX supervisor and senior artist. Nelson's credits at LucasArts include Star Wars: Dark Forces, Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire, Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, Curse of Monkey Island, Star Wars: Masters of Teräs Käsi, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, and Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine.
Nelson left LucasArts in 1998 to join the effects team at ILM where he was a compositor, rotoscoper, matte painter, and texture artist. His work at ILM includes Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, Galaxy Quest, The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle, The Perfect Storm, Jurassic Park III, The Time Machine, and Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. After the completion of Episode II, Nelson joined the full-time faculty of the Academy of Art University and served as the school's Visual Effects Director from 2002 to 2004. He currently consults for various leading effects and animation studios. He is a member of the Visual Effects Society.
Nelson is most notable for having played the role of Darth Vader for Lucasfilm since 1994. His appearances as Vader include LucasArts' Star Wars: Dark Forces and Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire games, the Special Edition of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, commercials, print ads, TV shows, and magazine covers. When artists at LucasArts had difficulty animating Vader's movements for the cutscenes in Dark Forces, Nelson was filmed as Vader. The artists then performed touch-up painting and processing to the footage to make it match the earlier hand-animated shots in the game.
It is a common misunderstanding on part of the media that during Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire production Vader was played by David Prowse reprising his legendary role. As Nelson says, he feels it's a great honor that some mistook him for Prowse. In many appearances that C. Andrew Nelson made as Darth Vader, his voice was dubbed over by voice-actor Scott Lawrence who plays Vader as a voice-actor in a dozen Star Wars video games. Nelson also voiced Luke Skywalker for a cutscene of the Star Wars: X-Wing expansion pack, being the first actor to have ever officially played both Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.
He continues to act in feature films, television, commercials, and voice-over.

Play video below to see pictures of some of the items that are sold at the show. Over 250 tables of collectibles.

Artist ERIC JOYNER is scheduled to be at the show.

Armed with a small collection of tin robots and spaceships He began painting them in earnest. In attempt to bring them to life without loosing their charm, I showed them where they belonged: outer space. By 2002 the paintings were looking good, but they still needed something to play off of… perhaps a nemesis. After a month or so of searching for a ‘nemesis’ I had an epiphany while watching the movie ‘Pleasantville.’ In one of the scenes, Jeff Daniels paints a still life of…donuts. With thoughts of Wayne Thiebaud’s pastries always close at hand, it wasn’t difficult to see the battle scene of robots retreating from 300-foot tall donuts when I went to bed that night. The rest, as they say, is history.

One of our dealers is selling a large collection of Lp RECORDS at the show.

Don't miss out on some good vinyl record deals.

We will have local artist EMONIC at the show this weekend.
Stop by and say hi to him and purchase some unique gifts.

Emonic (aka Emo Gonzales) has been creating art since he was a child. As a youth he was heavily influenced by skateboarding, comic books, music, movies and graphic design. When working on projects he will often employ a mix of mediums ranging from traditional means to digital manipulation.

Artist BORDIN MARSINKUL will be at the show.

Marsinkul was born in San Francisco, California in 1982. It was there that he spent the first six years of his life until he was sent to live in Bangkok, Thailand. While there he resided with his maternal side of the family as he learned more about Thai culture and the Thai language, which was the purpose of his journey.
Bordin has been influenced by many manga artists from Japan and always had a passion for comic books. Traces of his love for comics started out in his early years of school while in Bangkok. When he reached the age of sixteen he returned to the U.S. in order to be reunited with his immediate family, but he never lost his love of art or comics.

2014-12-07T22:07:00.000-08:00

We were very happy to have Actress and animal activist Linda Blair at the March San Jose Super Toy & Comic Book Show.

We were lucky to have actress GIGI EDGLEY at our March show.

She played Chiana on the critically – acclaimed sci-fi cult series, Farscape. Inwhich she starred for over four years.
Gigi stole the hearts of sci-fi enthusiasts. She was originally cast
as a guest star for one episode, but quickly captured the attention
of the Farscape writers, producers and the fans alike. The
mischievous Chiana became one of the most popular, and at times
controversial characters in the series.

To find our more about Gigi go to:
Official Website: GigiEdgley.com

We were also very lucky to have actress KYRA SCHON at our March show.

Kyra Schon is an American actress known for her role in the George Romero film Night of the Living Dead (1968) as Karen Cooper, the trowel-wielding Zombie girl.

She is the daughter of Karl Hardman who played her character's father Harry Cooper in the movie.

CINDY WILLIAMS

Actress CINDY WILLIAMS was at our August 16 and 17th Show.

She played Laurie Henderson, Ron Howard's high school sweetheart in George Lucas's American Graffiti . She was also in Francis Ford Coppola's The Conversation.

Williams was cast as a fun-loving brewery worker, Shirley Feeney, in an episode of Happy Days, alongside Penny Marshall, who played her best friend/roommate Laverne De Fazio. The girls were introduced as female companions of Fonzie (Henry Winkler), and their appearance proved so popular that Garry Marshall, producer of Happy Days and Penny Marshall's brother, commissioned a spin-off for the characters.

The television series was named LAVERNE & SHIRLEY.

Laverne & Shirley premiered in the 1975–76 TV season, showing its first episode in January 1976. By its second season it had become the most-watched American television program, even surpassing the ratings for Happy Days, the show it spun-off from as a series. Laverne & Shirley kept the top spot for two seasons and was successful for several other seasons.
