<p>It&#8217;s a special podcast! This week we blow the dust off our PRS licence to bring you a couple of mainstream gems (for a very special reason). And we head these mainstream gems with an unsigned brilliance! Why do we do this madness? Just read on my friend, just read on&#8230;</p>
<p><strong>Talkie bits</strong> (not many this week because of the specialness):<br />
* The Cheese Game being suspended for One Week Only, because of the specialness soon to be revealed<br />
* A quick round up of the week (neither Bren nor Soph killed anyone this week. Result!)<br />
* Evidence of Bren losing his marbles (as if we really need evidence)<br />
* Fantastic Aussie Band 16 Millimetre gigging on 16th November 2009 at the Yah-Yah&#8217;s, 99 Smith Street, Fitzroy, Melbourne<br />
* Quadrophobe coming in to the studio tomorrow, <em>en masse</em> to be interviewed. Good grief! How will we all fit in?<br />
* Adding the closing-title postscript to American TV productions &#8211; does anyone else do it, or is it just us?<br />
* Mike &amp; Jenny&#8217;s anniversary (celebrated in an &#8216;Our Tune&#8217; kind of way)<br />
* How about emailing us with a few of your favourite tracks or artists from our playlist and we’ll build a Top Ten of The Year?</p>
<p>You want more? Really?</p>
<p><strong>How about the musical goodness that this week includes:</strong><br />
1. Warning! Heat Ray!, Permanent Machine (<a title="Warning! Heat Ray! on MySpace" href="http://www.myspace.com/thegreenstoneproject" target="_blank">http://www.myspace.com/thegreenstoneproject</a>)<br />
2. Mr Smith, Soulmate (<a title="Mr Smith" href="http://www.mrsmith.co.uk" target="_blank">http://www.mrsmith.co.uk</a>)<br />
3. Radiohead, True Love Waits (<a title="Radiohead" href="http://www.radiohead.com/" target="_blank">http://www.radiohead.com/</a>)<br />
4. Muse, Starlight (<a title="Muse" href="http://www.muse.mu/" target="_blank">http://www.muse.mu/</a>)</p>
<p>As ever, this show was recorded *live* in Studio L in rural Oxfordshire and recorded in one take with no after-show editing or post-production mucking about.</p>

<p>Believe it or not, such was our indecision that the playlist for this podcast wasn&#8217;t finalised until we were sitting in the studio in front of our Mics! This week we have a little natter about:</p>
<p>* Soph being called a ‘Fucking slag’ by a member of the public in the library <em>(aren&#8217;t library users just so nice? last week and then this week? nice!)</em><br />
* Bren having a meeting in a Oxfordshire country pub on Monday night with two Rock Gods (further details to follow in due course)<br />
* A quick explanation about our T-Shirt sizes!<br />
* The pitfalls of sending text messages with a &#8216;x&#8217; on the bottom. Aaargh!<br />
* A quick give-away HERE just for the WEBSITE: send an email to thisrealitypodcast@gmail.com with an address in the body and the words &#8216;Halloween&#8217; in the subject and you&#8217;ll get a This Reality Podcast T-Shirt!<br />
* Weird dating agencies: beautifulpeople.com, golfmates.com, dateagolfer.com, bikerkiss.com and trekpassions.com<br />
* Dan Holloway&#8217;s formal book launch for his new work &#8216;<a title="songs from the other side of the wall" href="http://www.songsfromtheothersideofthewall.co.uk/" target="_blank">songs from the other side of the wall</a>&#8216;<br />
* How about emailing us with a few of your favourite tracks or artists from our playlist and we&#8217;ll build a Top Ten of The Year?</p>
<p>We also bring you Round Three of The Cheese Game, but this week we play the Neutral Variant – which confines us to the country of Switzerland.</p>
<p>You want more? Really?</p>
<p><strong>How about the musical goodness that this week includes:</strong><br />
1. The Family Machine, The Do Song (<a title="The Family Machine on MySpace" href="http://www.myspace.com/thefamilymachine" target="_blank">http://www.myspace.com/thefamilymachine</a>)<br />

		<itunes:summary>Episode 88 -  46 minutes running time
Believe it or not, such was our indecision that the playlist for this podcast wasn't finalised until we were sitting in the studio in front of our Mics! This week we have a little natter about:

* Soph being called a lsquo;Fucking slagrsquo; by a member of the public in the library (aren't library users just so nice? last week and then this week? nice!)
* Bren having a meeting in a Oxfordshire country pub on Monday night with two Rock Gods (further details to follow in due course)
* A quick explanation about our T-Shirt sizes!
* The pitfalls of sending text messages with a 'x' on the bottom. Aaargh!
* A quick give-away HERE just for the WEBSITE: send an email to thisrealitypodcast@gmail.com with an address in the body and the words 'Halloween' in the subject and you'll get a This Reality Podcast T-Shirt!
* Weird dating agencies: beautifulpeople.com, golfmates.com, dateagolfer.com, bikerkiss.com and trekpassions.com
* Dan Holloway's formal book launch for his new work 'songs from the other side of the wall'
* How about emailing us with a few of your favourite tracks or artists from our playlist and we'll build a Top Ten of The Year?

We also bring you Round Three of The Cheese Game, but this week we play the Neutral Variant ndash; which confines us to the country of Switzerland.

You want more? Really?

How about the musical goodness that this week includes:
1. The Family Machine, The Do Song (http://www.myspace.com/thefamilymachine)
2. Still Corners, History of Love (http://www.myspace.com/stillcorners)
3. Breed 77, The River (http://www.myspace.com/breed77)

As ever, this show was recorded *live* in Studio L in rural Oxfordshire and recorded in one take with no after-show editing or post-production mucking about.

While we were sitting in the studio recording the show we were also Twittering live. Why donrsquo;t you come on over and follow the podcast on This Reality Podcast twitter feed.

To listen to this one episode of the podcast just click here to download it or why not add it to your iTunes and listen to it on your iPhone or iPod or mp3 player wherever you go? Better than radio!

Did you know that you can send in your email or audio contributions to thisrealitypodcast@gmail.com or leave comments on the website?

If you are a band and you would like the podcast to listen to your music, just do the MySpace thing at http://www.myspace.com/thisrealitypodcast or email us.

Podcast admin:
All tracks are featured and played with the generous permission of the artists and/or their management. Please visit their websites and tell them how much you love their work!

If you would like to contribute your thoughts to This Reality Podcast or air your views on any of the topics wersquo;ve discussed (or anything else that you want to), just drop us a line. 1. Parlotones, Pretend (<a title="Parlotones on MySpace" href="http://www.myspace.com/theparlotones" target="_blank">http://www.myspace.com/theparlotones</a>)<br />
2. Still Corners, Parallels  (<a title="Still Corners on MySpace" href="http://www.myspace.com/stillcorners" target="_blank">http://www.myspace.com/stillcorners</a>)<br />
3. Ivan Campo, Rat Race (<a title="Ivan Campo on MySpace" href="http://www.myspace.com/ivancampo" target="_blank">http://www.myspace.com/ivancampo</a>)</p>
<p><strong>Second segment musical backing:</strong><br />
Felix Manyé Rodriguez, Meditación En Blues (<a title="Felix Manyé Rodriguez" href="http://www.felixrodriguez.net/" target="_blank">http://www.felixrodriguez.net</a>)</p>
<p><strong>In between these excellently written, produced and brilliantly performed pieces of music we also bring you:</strong><br />
* Last week’s video message for Lily Allen went down really well with our website readers. This week we bring you a real musician<br />
* A discussion on spotting a Luc Besson film, even with the sound off. Soph says Bren can&#8217;t be Luc Besson fanboy because he&#8217;s never seen Leon.<br />
* Soph telling us about how far she&#8217;s gone in the name of customer service today. But really, if you wanted to know the name of a shop would you honestly ring up the local library to find out? Really?<br />
* Bren&#8217;s stunning idea of Origami on the podcast not being the winner he believes it to be<br />
* Or flower arranging<br />
* A quick review of The Invention of Lying<br />
* A chat about the Fanfarlo gig at Oxford&#8217;s Jericho Tavern on Monday night (which is why we played Still Corners, they were the 2nd support band and we think they were really good too!)<br />
* Impressions not working &#8211; especially Bren&#8217;s Shakira impersonation<br />
* Meeting Mica, one of our listeners (and she was really nice!)<br />
* Bren outlines what, in an alternate universe, could conceivably have happened with a singer called Morrison Van (or Van Morrison or something similar)</p>

* Another false start with Led Zep’s Kashmir just to get a few more emails in asking us to play it in full<br />
* A little South African in honour of our first track (if you like Boer jokes) and how it evokes in Soph a summery, Killersesque mood.<br />
* A brilliantly rambling discussion which begins with The Editors Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors and leads to Intacto (in Bren&#8217;s opinion, one of the finest films ever made) to Max Von Sydow and his tremendous linguistic ability<br />
* Soph telling us about one of her customers&#8217; children urinating on the toilet floor and other things that make the general public not a good public to work with sometimes<br />
* Much information about our trip around Italy:</p>

<li> The Tuscan hill-town of Volterra</li>

<p>It&#8217;s a prepared, but still fairly quick and dirty podcast today; recorded late on Tuesday evening in Studio L in Witney because when the podcast is released on Saturday/Sunday we will be&#8230; in Italy. Ciao.</p>
<p>But as ever, this this show was recorded *live* in rural Oxfordshire and recorded in one take with no after-show editing or post-production mucking about.</p>
<p><strong>So, the musical goodness that we bring you this week includes:</strong><br />
1. James Lanman, Crazy Love (<a title="James Lanman on MySpace" href="http://www.myspace.com/jameslanman" target="_blank">http://www.myspace.com/jameslanman</a>)<br />
2. Eastcyde Real Estate, Bend of a Breeze (<a title="Eastcyde Real Estate on MySpace" href="http://www.myspace.com/eastcyderealestate" target="_blank">http://www.myspace.com/eastcyderealestate</a>)<br />
3. Steve McGill, Not A Love (<a title="Steve McGill on MySpace" href="http://www.myspace.com/stevemcgill" target="_blank">http://www.myspace.com/stevemcgill</a>)</p>
<p><strong>In between these excellently written, produced and brilliantly performed pieces of music we also bring you:</strong><br />
* This week’s video is a heartfelt message for the bankers<br />
* A deliberate false start with Led Zep&#8217;s Kashmir just to get a few more emails in asking us to play it in full<br />
* An intro from James Lanman who performs Van Morrison&#8217;s Crazy Love<br />
* Bren wishes he could tell just half of his Van Morrison true stories but Van The Man probably has a better set of lawyers, so they&#8217;ll have to remain untold (but true)<br />
* Gig news: <a title="inLight" href="http://www.inlightband.com/" target="_blank">inLight</a>, <a title="Talk In Code on MySpace" href="http://www.myspace.com/talkincode" target="_blank">Talk In Code</a> and <a title="Fiery Furnaces on MySpace" href="http://www.myspace.com/thefieryfurnaces" target="_blank">Fiery Furnaces</a> at Oxford&#8217;s 02<br />
* Looking forward to the next gig &#8211; Fanfarlo on 5th October<br />
* Lots of <em>double entendre</em> material<br />
* Guests in the studio during recording future episodes?<br />
* Bren&#8217;s cubase course<br />
* Living it up in Italy<br />
* Moonlight <em>v</em> Moonlighting and Cybil Shepherd (and writing getting weird) and the ridiculous vampire private detective who can walk through the desert in the middle of the day, or who can walk around Hollywood during the day with just his hand over his eyes. Der.<br />
* A huge big up for Amy (and many other of our listeners), starting university next week<br />
* Is there room for a Carry on Podcasting film?<br />
* Meeting Steve McGill at a Sam Manicom book launch at a bikers cafe</p>
<p>While we were sitting in the studio recording the show we were also Twittering live. Why don’t you come on over and follow the podcast on <a title="This Reality Podcast twitter feed" href="http://twitter.com/thisrealitypod" target="_blank">This Reality Podcast twitter feed</a>.</p>

		<itunes:summary>Episode 83 ndash; 31 minutes running time
It's a prepared, but still fairly quick and dirty podcast today; recorded late on Tuesday evening in Studio L in Witney because when the podcast is released on Saturday/Sunday we will be... in Italy. Ciao.

But as ever, this this show was recorded *live* in rural Oxfordshire and recorded in one take with no after-show editing or post-production mucking about.

So, the musical goodness that we bring you this week includes:
1. James Lanman, Crazy Love (http://www.myspace.com/jameslanman)
2. Eastcyde Real Estate, Bend of a Breeze (http://www.myspace.com/eastcyderealestate)
3. Steve McGill, Not A Love (http://www.myspace.com/stevemcgill)

In between these excellently written, produced and brilliantly performed pieces of music we also bring you:
* This weekrsquo;s video is a heartfelt message for the bankers
* A deliberate false start with Led Zep's Kashmir just to get a few more emails in asking us to play it in full
* An intro from James Lanman who performs Van Morrison's Crazy Love
* Bren wishes he could tell just half of his Van Morrison true stories but Van The Man probably has a better set of lawyers, so they'll have to remain untold (but true)
* Gig news: inLight, Talk In Code and Fiery Furnaces at Oxford's 02
* Looking forward to the next gig - Fanfarlo on 5th October
* Lots of double entendre material
* Guests in the studio during recording future episodes?
* Bren's cubase course
* Living it up in Italy
* Moonlight v Moonlighting and Cybil Shepherd (and writing getting weird) and the ridiculous vampire private detective who can walk through the desert in the middle of the day, or who can walk around Hollywood during the day with just his hand over his eyes. Der.
* A huge big up for Amy (and many other of our listeners), starting university next week
* Is there room for a Carry on Podcasting film?
* Meeting Steve McGill at a Sam Manicom book launch at a bikers cafe

While we were sitting in the studio recording the show we were also Twittering live. Why donrsquo;t you come on over and follow the podcast on This Reality Podcast twitter feed.

* Bren&#8217;s got a concept for a new Daytime Quiz show using his inside knowledge of famous equestrians: Gay or No Gay. Whatcha think?<br />

* Random ramblings about the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band<br />
