I've been debated for some time to start blogging again. Mostly because of COIVD-19. The world is a really insane place and I feel the need to get stuff off my chest. I'm likely going to archive a bunch of my old posts.

Today I find myself very frustrated. Today two things are going on.

One: Our quality business review is going on. This means a conference room is being occupied by lots of important people.

Two: I have a required meeting to go to about something that is supposed to be in this same room.

The meeting was at 10:30. I show up at 10:25 because I like to be on time. Sure enough, the room is occupied by event one. After some digging and asking around (which I feel I should not have to do.) I figured out event two is in another room entirely. Apparently, sending out a quick FYI is too hard. I got to this room and a meeting is going on. As it is not quite 10:30 I assume this is the previous meeting. Maybe this is what I get for assuming? I stood outside the room waiting for this meeting to end. All four occupants of this meeting know me and at no point thought to pop out real quick and tell me what was going on. Ten minutes later of lack of basic consideration I left.

And now I am annoyed. I am in an outright bad mood. This meeting is a repeating one. No one has bothered to see if I wanted to go with them. So the 9:00 meeting and the 10 maybe 10:30 who the crap knows meeting have passed and I think I may be the only one in my office that needs to go. This does not make me feel excluded at all.

I am very burnt out right now.

Green Lantern is gay, yay!

I have heard for a while now that DC was announcing one of their big players as gay. I was very worried it be Robin or Wonder Women, maybe Flash or Aqua Man. Those are all too easy. I am very happy it's Green Lantern. He is a good, honest guy.

On Friday when someone asked me “What are you up to this weekend?” I responded “Hosting a BBQ.” Apparently, I should have said “adopting six leopard geckos.” My friend Carrie had been babysitting them for over five years now when her husband said they had to go. Not sure why. So, this g/f wanted them, 12 hours later my geek cave has geckos. What was awesome is that they also gave us a good $600.00 in supplies so we have everything we need to assure them a save and happy home, except a stand. The one that was given to us is on it’s last leg and I don’t think I trust it. Here are some pictures.

Hello world!
I know, I know, it's been a while. I am currently playing "Scion" at my friend Erin's house. Not much going on right now so I figured I'd shoot a post. My last one says I started a new job, well I did and it has gone well. I have since become a Manager for Chrysler Corp, not a dealership, but Chrysler. Stacie got promoted as well. We moved into a bigger apartment too. We are down to just the cats and our newly acquired hamster, P-Ken. I think we are going to hold off on our animals for a bit.

Today was 30% off day at Bed, Bath and Beyond. :) We saved like $100.00 on stuff. YAY! We got a few spiffy gadgets, and cheap Kureg coffee. A collapsible strainer, and baking stuff. We ended up watching Austyn for a little while, him and I got into a snowball fight. I picked him up to toss him on his fort, he nailed me in the side of the head with a hidden snowball. I must give him credit, he was ninja.

Not sure what else to blog about. Go team!

I need to update this more. Ah well. Life is going. I just moved into a new apt, 2 bed, 2 bath. Man I hate moving. I am very excited because the new place came with a built in microwave! More counter space! My boss just got a promotion so I am in charge of the team till they figure out who is going to take her place. I interviewed for a TL role before this happened, so I am hoping her promotion helps me. We'll see.

So today is my last day working for MSAP, I start a new job on Monday that hopfully will give me plenty of job opportunities, MS is so tight with their money that we don't even have a team lead. We are a self running office but the team lead is needed for some things (paid time off, etc), well the person we've been going too for these things is a few tiers above where we SHOULD be going for these things, in other words; people are doubling up jobs. Money is tight, I understand that. So with the advice of the person doing things tiers above her job, i'm moving to a new office that is much bigger than the one I am in now.

I start Monday with a shift an hour earlier than I am doing now. :P I am already tired all the time, I do not see this helping. However, I am getting off of work earlier as well, I may be able to fit naps in. YAY naps. I am not 100% the new companies policy on me talking about my job, so for now I won't say much but I can tell you I am working for just as much of a "the man" than I did before.

I walked into work today to find a six pack of Transformers cupcake and a "You'll Be Missed" tiny ballon, this made me really happy. I know the gifts came from just one co-worker, the one I'll miss. Well, I'll miss the "advicer" I spoke of earlier, but I think of her as more of a superior. (cause you know, she is) I had a blue cupcake, yeah it dyed my tongue. made me feel like a kid again!

On another note: I've been fighting off a nasty little cold (as has my chicka) so nothings been getting done. So tonight, I have to help watch a four year old while doing two weeks worth of cleaning, yay!

Basic Rules for Cats Who Have a House to Run

** DOORS:
Do not allow closed doors in any room. To get door opened, stand on hind legs and hammer with forepaws. Once door is opened, it is not necessary to use it. After you have ordered an "outside" door opened, stand halfway in and out and think about several things. This is particularly important during very cold weather, rain, snow, or mosquito season. Swinging doors are to be avoided at all costs.

** CHAIRS and RUGS:
If you have to throw up, get to a chair quickly. If you cannot manage in time, get to an Oriental rug. If there is no Oriental rug, shag is good. When throwing up on the carpet, make sure you back up so that it is as long as the human's bare foot.

** BATHROOMS:
Always accompany guests to the bathroom. It is not necessary to do anything -- just sit and stare.

** HAMPERING:
If one of your humans is engaged in some close activity and the other is idle, stay with the busy one. This is called "helping", otherwise known as "hampering." Following are the rules for "hampering":

a) When supervising cooking, sit just behind the left heel of the cook. You
cannot be seen and thereby stand a better chance of being stepped on and then
picked up and comforted.
b) For book readers, get in close under the chin,
between eyes and book, unless you can lie across the book itself.
c) For
knitting projects or paperwork, lie on the work in the most appropriate manner
so as to obscure as much of the work or at least the most important part.
Pretend to doze, but every so often reach out and slap the pencil or knitting
needles. The worker may try to distract you; ignore it. Remember, the aim is to
hamper work.
Embroidery and needlepoint projects make great hammocks in
spite of what the humans may tell you.
d) For people paying bills (monthly
activity) or working on income taxes or Christmas cards (annual activity), keep
in mind the aim -- to hamper! First, sit on the paper being worked on. When
dislodged, watch sadly from the side of the table. When activity proceeds
nicely, roll around on the papers, scattering them to the best of your ability.
After being removed for the second time, push pens, pencils, and erasers off the
table, one at a time.
e) When a human is holding the newspaper in front of
him/her, be sure to jump on the back of the paper. They love to jump.

** WALKING:
As often as possible, dart quickly and as close as possible in front of the human, especially: on stairs, when they have something in their arms, in the dark, and when they first get up in the morning. This will help their coordination skills.

** BEDTIME:
Always sleep on the human at night so s/he cannot move round.

** PLAY:
This is an important part of your life. Get enough sleep in the daytime so you are fresh for your nocturnal games. Below are listed several favorite cat games that you can play. It is important though to maintain one's Dignity at all times. If you should have an accident during play, such as falling off a chair, immediately wash a part of your body as if to say "I MEANT to do that!" It fools those humans every time.

CAT GAMES:
"Catch Mouse":
The humans would have you believe that
those lumps under the covers are their feet and hands. They are lying. They are
actually Bed Mice, rumored to be the most delicious of all the mice in the
world, though no cat has ever been able to catch one. Rumor also has it that
only the most ferocious attack can stun them long enough for you to dive under
the covers to get them. Maybe YOU can be the first to taste the Bed Mouse!

"King of the Hill":
This game must be played with at least one
other cat. The more, the merrier! One or both of the sleeping humans is Hill 303
which must be defended at all costs from the other cat(s). Anything goes. This
game allows for the development of unusual tactics as one must take the unstable
playing theater into account.
WARNING:
Playing either of these games to
excess will result in expulsion from the bed and possibly from the bedroom.
Should the humans grow restless, immediately begin purring and cuddle up to
them.
This should buy you some time until they fall asleep again. If one
happens to be on a human when this occurs, this cat wins the round of King of
the Hill.

** TOYS:
Any small item is a potential toy. If a human tries to confiscate it, this means that it is a Good Toy. Run with it under the bed. Look suitably outraged when the human grabs you and takes it away.
Always watch where it is put so you can steal it later. Two reliable sources of toys are dresser tops and wastebaskets. There are several types of cat toys.
Bright shiny things like keys, brooches, or coins should be hidden so that the other cat(s) or humans can't play with them. They are generally good for playing hockey with on uncarpeted floors.
Dangly and/or string-like things such as shoelaces, cords, gold chains, and dental floss also make excellent toys. They are favorites of humans who like to drag them across the floor for us to pounce on. When a string is dragged under a newspaper or throw rug, it magically becomes the Paper/Rug Mouse and should be killed at all costs. Take care, though. Humans are sneaky and will try to make you lose your Dignity.

** PAPER BAGS:
Within paper bags dwell the Bag Mice. They are small and camouflaged to be the same color as the bag, so they are hard to see. But you can easily hear the crinkling noises they make as they scurry around the bag. Anything, up to and including shredding the bag, can be done to kill them. Note: any other cat you may find in a bag hunting for Bag Mice is fair game for a Sneak Attack, which will usually result in a great Tag match.

** FOOD:
In order to get the energy to sleep, play, and hamper, a cat must eat. Eating, however, is only half the fun. The other half is getting the food. Cats have two ways to obtain food: convincing a human you are starving to death and must be fed *NOW*; and hunting for it oneself.
The following are guidelines for getting fed.

a) When the humans are eating, make sure you leave the tip of your tail in their
dishes when they are not looking.
b) Never eat food from your own bowl if
you can steal some from the table.
c) Never drink from your own water bowl
if a human's glass is full enough to drink from.
d) Should you catch
something of your own outside, it is only polite to attempt to get to know it.
Be insistent -- your food will usually not be so polite and try to leave.
e)
Table scraps are delicacies with which the humans are unfortunately unwilling to
readily part. It is beneath the Dignity of a cat to beg outright for food as
lower forms of life such as dogs will, but several techniques exist for ensuring
that the humans don't forget you exist. These include, but are not limited to:
jumping onto the lap of the "softest" human and purring loudly; lying down in
the doorway between the dining room and the kitchen, the Direct Stare, and
twining around people's legs as they sit and eat while meowing plaintively.

** SLEEPING:
As mentioned above, in order to have enough energy for playing, a cat must get plenty of sleep. It is generally not difficult to find comfortable place to curl up. Any place a human likes to sit is good, especially if it contrasts with your fur color. If it's in a sunbeam or near a heating duct or radiator, so much the better. Of course, good places also exist outdoors, but have the disadvantages of being seasonal and dependent on current and previous weather conditions such as rain. Open windows are a good compromise.

** SCRATCHING POSTS:
It is advised that cats use any scratching post the humans may provide. They are very protective of what they think is their property and will object strongly if they catch you sharpening your claws on it. Being sneaky and doing it when they aren't around won't help, as they are very observant. If you are an outdoor kitty, trees are good. Sharpening your claws on a human is a definite no-no!

** HUMANS:
Humans have three primary functions: to feed us, to play with and give attention to us, and to clean the litter box. It is important to maintain one's Dignity when around humans so that they will not forget who is the master of the house. Humans need to know basic rules. They can be taught if you start early and are consistent.

You will then have a smooth-running household.

Dear Blog,

I miss you. I'm sorry I've ignored you, I still love you.

Dear Reader,

My new phone I was uber excited about, yeah I fried it in the water less than a month after getting it....Words can not describe the anger I promice you.

I'm in a new 4.0 game that Stacie is running, So far so fun. I'm hoping to keep going. I am playing a Deva Cleric, never been either before so it is for sure something new. We have Mike E, Mike F, Joe J, Chris W, myself and Stacie all around one table trying to stop all that is evil, or at the very lest all the holds treasure. Yarrr. On the left you will find my cat stirpes attempting to chew on one of our minis. She's sorta mean like that.

Next up: The backstreet boys: there new CD is due out in October and I am hoping to get it pretty much as soon as it comes out, they are a band I love enough that I am willing to pay for there music.

I've been a fan of them since I was about 10 and I am 24....14 years of loyal love. And they have never disapointed me music wise. Sadly, I found out recently 10 of those 14 years Nick Carter was fighting substance abuse issues, this doesn't shock me. Well not that Nick did, but that a second member besides AJ had issues. Anyone and everyone can get depressed. They used to be one of the biggest bands in the world and have made there unerasable mark in history, that's sorta a lot of pressure. On the bright side he is in the best shape of his life and looks amazing. I just hope he can keep it up. He was always the "hot" one in the band, I favored AJ and honestly didn't look at him twice. In fact, I was so in love with the band that when AJ checked himself into rehab so many years ago I cried. I was worried about him and wanted it to be all better. I don't think hes a god or anything, AJ and Nick are just normal people who went through very tough times. However, now I have found myself looker at him more than I ever did. He isn't the baby anymore he is 29 and is in the shape of someone much younger than him. (One thing I noticed as I am typing rhis is Nick is missing one of his nipples in the picture on the right. Can we say photoshop error?) When it comes down to it, I am honestly very happy for him and I hope it sticks. I also really hope AJ stays good as well.

New Phone!

I just got a new phone. It's a BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220. For a very long time I was the girl with the cool new phone, but that sorta stopped the last few years as things like bills and rent took over. So, this phone has a lot more bells and whistles than I am used too. However, I'm figuring it out easily enough.

As many of you know I work for a call center. Through out my time working on phones (almost four years now.) I have found that the world is full of some very rude people. When I call starts off with "Are you in the Philippines?"/"I don't wanna talk to no people who don't speak English" and so forth I want to reach through the phone and teach them some manners. Or, for example when someone interrupts you time and time again because whatever there saying is more important, even though more often than not there saying they want your help, so when you offer it they talk over you again and demand said help your trying to offer.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, or maybe I've just worked with the public for to long, but I try really hard to be nice to the people I deal with. The last thing someone needs, is me being a dick to them. And in all honesty, your amount of bullshit directly relates to the amount you get jerked around. Try being nice, it helps I promise.

New Hampshire Legalizes Same-Sex Marriage

I am very excited to hear this news. The more states that see marriage is a right for all humans the more I think Utah will some day pass a simlar law. I may not ever get married, but I would like to at lest know that if/when I want to, I can. Story below.

BOSTON — The New Hampshire legislature approved revisions to a same-sex
marriage bill on Wednesday, and Gov. John
Lynch promptly signed the legislation, making the state the sixth to let gay
couples wed.
The bill had been through several permutations to satisfy Mr.
Lynch and certain legislators that it would not force religious organizations
that oppose same-sex marriage to participate in ceremonies celebrating it. Some
groups had feared they could be sued for refusing to allow same-sex weddings on
their property.
Mr. Lynch, who previously supported civil unions but not
marriage for same-sex couples, said in a statement that he had heard “compelling
arguments that a separate system is not an equal system.”
“Today,” he said,
“we are standing up for the liberties of same-sex couples by making clear that
they will receive the same rights, responsibilities — and respect — under New
Hampshire law.”
The law will take effect on Jan. 1. As originally cast, the
legislation exempted members of the clergy from having to perform same-sex
weddings. Then Mr. Lynch, a centrist Democrat, said he would veto the bill
unless the legislature added language also exempting religious groups and their
employees from having to participate in such ceremonies.
Mr. Lynch also
ordered that the bill protect members of religious groups from having to provide
same-sex couples with religious counseling, housing designated for married
people and other services relating to “the promotion of marriage.”
But the
House rejected that language last month by a two-vote margin, and legislative
leaders appointed a committee to negotiate a compromise.
The committee last
week recommended changes further emphasizing the rights of religious groups not
to participate. They include a preamble to the bill that states, “Each religious
organization, association, or society has exclusive control over its own
religious doctrine, policy, teachings and beliefs regarding who may marry within
their faith.”
Republicans have called the committee’s work tainted because
the Senate president, Sylvia B. Larsen, a Democrat, replaced one of its
Republican members when that legislator would not sign off on last week’s
compromise. Under legislative rules, the committee’s decision needed to be
unanimous.
As more states have legalized same-sex marriage, opponents have
increasingly lobbied for “conscience protections,” language that exempts
religious organizations from having to participate.
But many of the bill’s
opponents believe the language adopted by New Hampshire and several other states
does not go far enough because it protects only religious groups and their
employees. New Hampshire’s bill does not exempt photographers or florists, for
example, from having to provide services.
But groups that advocate for gay
rights, some of whom poured money into the state in recent months, said the law
was yet another step toward mainstream America accepting same-sex marriage. “As
people get to know the loving and committed couples at the heart of marriage
equality,” said Neil G. Giuliano, president of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance
Against Defamation, “our culture is moving to equality.”
Kevin Smith,
director of the Cornerstone Policy Research, a group opposing the bill, said
lawmakers “rammed this legislation through” in a way that “reeks of backroom
deals and a subversion of the legislative process.”

The below story makes me a little sick. I would like to see this guy fired and tossed in jail. Laws related to animals are not harsh enough.

OGDEN -- Police in Ogden say a man accused of hitting a puppy with his car and dragging its owner by the leash has surrendered.
The man was identified by the Ogden Police Department late Thursday as Joseph Porter, 45, who is employed as a sergeant at the Weber County Jail.
Ogden Police Lt. Scott Sangberg told KSL NewsRadio Porter contacted them on Thursday and spoke with investigators about the incident on Gibson Ave.
"He spoke with detectives who took his statement and some other witness statements," Sangberg said, adding that the statements differ somewhat from what the woman who was dragged claimed.
Kristan Kap told the Ogden Standard-Examiner she was walking along Gibson Ave. with her 4-month-old puppy on a short leash when the dog was hit by a pickup. She was dragged a short distance because the dog leash was wrapped around her wrist. The driver stopped briefly, then left when confronted by Kap.
Ogden police said that on Thursday, Porter contacted them. He was not arrested and the case will be referred to city prosecutors to determine if any misdemeanor charges would be leveled against him. Charges could include failure to remain at the scene of an injury accident.
The Weber County Sheriff's Office told KSL it was still gathering information about the incident and that it would be premature to comment about Porter's status as a jail employee there.
Kap told the Standard-Examiner she does not want Porter to lose his job over the incident and that she feels "at peace" since he turned himself in.

SAN FRANCISCO, California (CNN) -- The California Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld a ban on same-sex marriage that state voters passed in November, but it allowed about 18,000 marriages performed before the ban to remain valid.
The 6-1 decision was met with chants of "shame on you" from a crowd of about 1,000 people who gathered outside the court building in San Francisco.
"It's nice that my marriage is still intact, but that's not the point," said Kathleen White, who married her partner in 2008. "The point is that everybody should have the same civil rights across the board."
Opponents of the ban argued that the controversial Proposition 8 improperly altered the California Constitution to restrict a fundamental right guaranteed in the state's charter.
But the court found the measure restricted the designation of marriage "while not otherwise affecting the fundamental constitutional rights of same-sex couples." Watch what was at stake »
"We further conclude that Proposition 8 does not apply retroactively and therefore that the marriages of same-sex couples performed prior to the effective date of Proposition 8 remain valid," California Chief Justice Ronald George wrote.
The court, which is dominated by Republican appointees, ruled in May 2008 that the state constitution guaranteed gay and lesbian couples the "basic civil right" to marry. The 4-3 decision came four years after San Francisco began issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
But in November, state voters approved the Proposition 8 ballot initiative 52 percent to 48 percent. The measure provided that only heterosexual unions would be recognized as marriages by the state.
California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who opposed the initiative, praised the court for leaving the previous marriages intact and urged opponents of the decision to respond "peacefully and lawfully."
"While I believe that one day either the people or courts will recognize gay marriage, as governor of California, I will uphold the decision of the California Supreme Court," Schwarzenegger said in a statement.
Supporters of the proposition argued that Californians long have had the right to change their state constitution through ballot initiatives. The effort to overturn the restriction "strikes directly at the heart of California's system of government," a brief by the conservative Family Research Council argued.
CaliforniaAttorney General Jerry Brown sided with advocates of same-sex marriage, stating in court papers that Proposition 8 "put the fundamental rights of a minority group to a popular vote." And in his dissenting opinion, Justice Carlos Moreno wrote that the measure "violates the essence of the equal protection clause of the California Constitution and fundamentally alters its scope and meaning."
"The majority's holding is not just a defeat for same-sex couples, but for any minority group that seeks the protection of the equal protection clause of the California Constitution," Moreno wrote.
Proposition 8's approval sparked protests against and criticism of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which strongly supported the measure.
Opponents of the ban said the Utah-based church donated a majority of the money that funded the Proposition 8 campaign. But the Mormons said they were being unfairly singled out for criticism when other religious leaders -- including Cardinal Roger Mahoney, the Roman Catholic archbishop of Los Angeles -- also supported the ban.
Tuesday's decision left unaddressed whether same-sex marriages performed in other states before the ban was adopted would be recognized in California.
Four states -- Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts and Iowa -- allow same-sex marriages. A Vermont law making such marriages legal will take effect in September.
On May 6, same-sex marriage became legal in Maine as Gov. John Baldacci signed a bill less than an hour after the state Legislature approved it.
In April, the Iowa Supreme Court ruled unanimously that it is illegal to discriminate against same-sex couples by denying them the right to marry. The first gay marriages in the state took place April 27.
The District of Columbia voted May 5 to recognize same-sex marriages performed elsewhere, though it does not itself give marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
In April, New York Gov. David Paterson introduced legislation to make same-sex marriage legal in his state.

Both the House and Senate already had approved allowing gay couples to marry. But Gov. John Lynch, a three-term Democrat, said he would sign a same-sex marriage bill only if it provides "the strongest and clearest protections for religious institutions and associations, and for the individuals working with such institutions."
The House on Wednesday fell two votes short of approving Lynch's language. The chamber then voted to send the legislation to a committee to be considered further.

On Memorial day I was having a picnic in the park with Stacie, Austyn and Steph. This little guy came up and hung out for a while. He walked right up to Austyn and bit his leg, well more nipped at it. Eventually he got Stacies toe and my shoes and pants. He made it pretty clear a few times that Stacies toes looked tasty.

I got the idea he was lost. He didn't even have wings yet, poor little guy. Just before we left I said "I shall call you Walter!", he just quacked at me.
