This week's décor inspiration is the work of Parisian architect & interior designer, Jean-Louis Deniot, whose style can be best described as new or cool classical, and who often references the designs of Adolph Loos for "exactness", Dorothy Draper for "the theatrical side to her design", Renzo Mongiardino for his "collector's spirit", and Peter Marino for "couture-style luxury". Although a decidedly diverse mix of styles, there is a shared concept of design that is "synonymous with architectural environments, refinements, and a love of noble materials and objects" . . .

On a Tuesday, that feels like a Monday, hello, hello! -- for a day was lost to travel late Sunday night, and after yesterday's early morning arrival, it's home again, home again! The time back, so far, has been spent in romance and along lakes and rolling hills, an afternoon picnic and treelined countryside drives . . . And now, after over a month away, as you can imagine, there's much to catch up on, and so, it's back to work and a brand new week . . .

First discovered newport-based, manyara home, on instagram, and was immediately drawn to the bits of coral and enchanting seashell chandeliers; there were festive pineapples and champagne and white roses in cut crystal. Exotic tribal objects commingled with rustic furniture, gilded tableware and refined linens, evoking, all at once, "french gardens, moroccan dining rooms and bohemian salons" in a madly beautiful mix of african and french and modern coastal . . .

. . . ever since we begun decorating our place, have been collecting inspiration photos of gallery walls, as well as frames of varying shades and colours, but always seem to be drawn to black, white & gold; it is always fascinating to how other walls have come together, to examine the parts that make up the whole, and not only is this wall, above, in decorative-arts dealers laurence and patrick seguin’s beautifully assemble, but it also happens to be the ground floor of a 17th-century mansion in le marais, in paris . . .

. . . and the weekend has begun with cherry blossoms and clear blue skies, sea salt caramel macarons, and vanilla; leisurely walks through the park, goyard cases and coffee shops, all good things when one is missing another so, for if you have been following along on instagram, you will know that am currently travelling, and while that is always wonderful, weeks apart is a first for us, who are normally inseparable, but even still, there is so much loveliness all around, and there are magnolia blossoms and long, long telephone conversations that last into the night, and so, all is not lost, not even a little . . .
