There are certain choices that people make that cause you to look further down the road at how things may be. You question your past and look at the possible futures. Contemplating these options can bring you to a clearer understanding, but I am finding that they are making things more confusing.

Is where I'm going better than where I've been? Or is it just different?

Is different enough? Is change, though needed, a really good thing right now?

What will happen in a month? Where will I be in a year? How will this work out?

Every so often I get a glimpse of both sides. The pro and the con.

And where will I go? Where will I be? Where will this be?

Of life had all the answers so readily at hand and decoded, I guess it wouldn't be so fun...but sometimes, just sometimes it would be nice to open a fortune cookie and it be direct...

In the last month or so, I have come across more instances of people not saying what they mean than ever. 
I had a break up, only to find it it wasn't supposed to be one. 
I was told my voice was distracting, just to be told that's not what was meant. 
I was told that my efforts to be loving are me just playing around. 
I have been told that I shouldn't feel a certain way about situations by a couple different people...mostly having to do with them messing something up. 
If folks took half the time they took meeting stuff up on thinking about what say and how it can be interpreted, relationships wouldn't be so troubled... 
I get tired of having to read between the lines. If that's not what you meant, then don't say it...

For both men and women, we assume the other sex understands what's being said. In reality, male and female brains operate a little differently and women are generally far more capable when it comes to verbal communication. This advantage allows women to track multiple conversations and pick up on intricacies of speech that men can't. In essence, women are better listeners than men by default, even if it's a somewhat minor distinction. The Norwich Bulletin points to a study from the University of Sheffield that discovered the male brain has trouble tracking a woman's speech because of how it processes the sound of the female voice:

These researchers found differences in the way male and female brains process voice sounds. The results of this study demonstrate that, in the male brain, the perception of male and female voices activates different brain regions. The guys could easily hear and understand other men's voices. However, women have a greater natural melody in their voices and possess a more complex range of sound frequencies than a male voice. The men in the study had a harder time deciphering them and really hearing what a woman was saying. When they heard the female voices, they had to decipher them using the part of the brain that processes music - a more complex process than is used in the part of the brain that analyzes a male voice.

The only real solution to the problem is for both men and women to be aware and understanding of this inherent communication issue. Communication is difficult even without the gender differences, so it can help for men to make the extra effort and for women to understand that what they say may not always come across in exactly the way they think.

1. If you've known a guy for more than 24 hours, his sister is off limits forever! Unless you actually marry her.

2. When questioned by a friend's girlfriend, you need not and should not provide any information as to his whereabouts. You are even permitted to deny his very existence.

3. Unless he murdered someone in your immediate family, you must bail a friend out of jail within 24 hours.

4. A best man's toast may not include any of the following phrases, "down in Tijuana", "one time when we were all piss drunk", or "and this girl had the biggest rack you ever saw".

OK, this is clearly not a myth. Thanksgiving happens, and then Black Friday. But you probably think Black Friday is determined by the date that Thanksgiving falls on. All the cooking and eating is out of the way, and as an unintentional side effect of that, we get to start Christmas shopping.

The Reality:

Actually, the day we celebrate Thanksgiving is determined by the day the retailers decide will make a good Black Friday. The start of the holiday shopping season is both more official and harder to move than the holiday it follows. That means when ranking their order of importance to our country, a national day of shopping beats a national day of gratitude. Not quite as surprising when we put it like that, right?

Thanksgiving originally didn't have a set date. George Washington proclaimed the first one on November 26, 1789, but the dates and even months changed for almost a century. Abraham Lincoln gave it a regular berth in 1863 as the last Thursday of November. It never occurred to Honest Abe that November sometimes has five Thursdays, and that this would create a problem down the road.

One of those Novembers with five Thursdays happened in 1939, when the United States was recovering from the Great Depression. At that time, waiting until after Thanksgiving to start the holiday shopping season was seen as almost holy, but Thanksgiving fell on the very last day of the month. A short number of Christmas shopping days, starting on December 1, could hurt the recovering economy. That's why President Franklin Roosevelt had to put Turkey Day in its place.

A Presidential proclamation was issued moving Thanksgiving to the second to last Thursday of November. Thirty-two states went along with FDR and issued the same proclamation, while the other 16 states said "fuck that." For two years, a third of the U.S. celebrated Thanksgiving on the last Thursday of November, while the other two thirds of the country celebrated it on the second to last Thursday. For family members living in opposing states, this was a very short, lethargic version of the Civil War.

In 1941, Congress told FDR to knock that shit off and passed a resolution setting a fixed date for Thanksgiving as the last Thursday in November. The Senate, reminding them that there was shopping at stake, amended it to declare Thanksgiving as being on the fourth Thursday to get rid of the occasional five Thursday problem.

Thus it was settled that the most important part of the holiday season is having a standard, sensible number of days in which to buy shit. Then we said "fuck it" and started the holiday shopping season in October.

Traveling down. Slowly losing herself every second. Even after escaping, there would always be the evidence...a path of travel that she could never escape. With every breeze she became less of herself....still her downward destination could not be stopped. Creeping closer and closer to the edge where her existence would be wiped away and then thrown away. No thought given once her time has passed. I do not envy her. Her presence has not signified pleasure..only pain. She will be looked at with a sympathetic eye..yes, but it will be know why she has come...why she must continue her journey...why she must be alone... I watch her. I feel her. I know her. And when all is said and done, she will represent all that needs to be forgotten... So I say hello to you...and then goodbye... My solitary tear...

Today has been a nice day...even with the school meeting and GP Junior attempts, it was still nice...

I got lots of FB BDay love...some because of the reminders lol...and some from closer folks...

I got gifts starting on Saturday! And have gotten a gift just about everyday since! That's a first!

Gifts aside, I'm okay about 30....for real...I mean I'm no longer 20 something...but whatever. Age is a number to count the years of experience you have. What you gathered is on you. I think I have gathered a nice amount and missed out on others, but I'm also okay with that as well.

Happy Birthday Me...and many many more!

Yeah so...I didn't get sleep again last night, this would be three or for nights/days of either waking up early as hell ofr not getting sleep...

I don't know how long I can keep this one up...

So I drank some vitacoco with 5 hour energy and boy do I feel tired, but my finger nad brain won't stop moving. Let me stop for a second and I'll show you how fast I go to sleep....whrrrrr whrrrr whrrrr...that's my brain going a million anf five mile per second...

A few days ago I said something to someone that I thought would blow up in my face. It was totally innocent and I didn't realize the potential landmine until my mouth had already worked its destruction...

I was on edge for a couple days and I tried not to think about it to much. I was prepared to take my licks if need be and then try to explain the situation as it was.

Turns out I didn't need to! Well I did explain the situation the moment I saw an opening with my stomach in my throat, but was relieved when the reaction I was expecting did not happen! In fact, the next day I got news that my big mouth actually may have done some good...

I'm glad, cuz I really didn't mean to say anything, but I thought we were ask talking about the same thing...apparently not...next time I will do more probing before I start divulging information lol...

No, I havent been blogging for a while. I know, you miss me and wild thoughts of fancy! I have been dealing with some things lately...and I'm the only one who understands because no one but me goes through things! Ok, not really, but doesn't it feel like that sometimes?

I have been fortunate enough to have stumbled a couple of people who enjoy my time in different capacities. I'm not sure how to take it since, though I know I am awesome, sometimes I think I'm the only one that really understands how awesome I truly am...

So anyways, I have these folks interested in me and my awesomeness and I am confused. No one wants to hang out with only one person all the time. Especially if each person has a quality you like about them. Everyone has dilemmas...and I have been having one for the last cew weeks. I dont want to lose a friend to jealousy on anyones part. I just want to be friends and have fun... Different fun with different friends... I dunno... I'm not confused I guess... I'm confused...

Well I just found out that GoDaddy got rid of all my stuff..hence the look of the page being different. I s stored a lot of stuff over the years on there, stuff I may never get back unless I was smart enough to keep it on one of these HD I have from my other computer that isn't working...It upsets me because almost everyday I am reminded of something I can't access because it was on their server.

The moral of the story is to pay your bills on time, and if you can't make an effort to make an arrangement, at least the other party knows your not being a dork about it...

On DVD and On Demand: Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

There's no doubt that Tucker and Dale vs. Evil takes a single joke and hammers it practically into oblivion, but that single gag is so hilariously conceived and perfectly executed that a film that might easily have become tiresome instead feels far too brief...Horror comedy is thirsty work, after all, demanding as many belly laughs as disembowelments, but the notion of taking the murderous, backwoods cannibal and turning it on its ear offers an opportunity for prime, gore-filled hilarity.

Tucker and Dale are two dodgy-looking hillbillies who've just purchased a run-down cabin in the deep woods as a quiet escape to drink beers and catch fish. On the outside, they're everything you'd run from after having just screened Deliverance, but on the inside, they're an endearing pair of well-intentioned buddies. Unfortunately, to the stereotypical group of ignorant college kids who encounter them along the way, a series of wildly funny misunderstandings paints them as vicious, redneck killers out for blood.

Light on plot, the film is never short on personality. Alan Tyduk and Tyler Labine quickly establish Tucker and Dale as infinitely likable characters, the kind of down-home, pleasant-to-watch folks with whom you'd enjoy spending time even if the film didn't rack up an impressive body-count. And the movie's greatest success is that its gore-filled horror set-pieces - while always funny in context - never fail to deliver enough blood and suspense to keep the one-note premise from becoming a foregone conclusion.

I went outside yesterday and took a few pictures..of nature. I'm not sure how well I did, but the camera on the phone isn't half bad! When I was done I took the pictures to the computer and tried to optimize them for web viewing and posting. This one is an u edited version.

I think I might take more if I get the time.

OMG! I have always complained that in America, there are so many rules and boundaries to our horror movies...if I wanted to see something modern that was scary, I would go Japan...lol but this movie got me watching right from the start!

The circle story telling has always been a favorite of mine, but you usually see it in action movies. This was an awesome way to present this movie and also made tales we have heard time and time again, in its many variations, interesting!

Oddly enough, my mom mentioned this movie to me. I had seen the cover on Netflix, but wrote it off as a cheesy wanna be movie, talk about judging a book by its cover! I finally watched it tonight and plan on watching Police Academy or something to un freak me out lmao!

Well another rainy day.. The hurricane is making it windy and most of the day has been with me and little man...who has just turned the big 10! A whole decade! I'll be 3 decades soon...
