Evolution. This is the notion we have. This not only makes it clear, but presents us with choice knowing this. It is the condition of awareness that we know as being human. The real struggle is not that of our humanness, but rather our acceptance of personal power. It is a battle of the natural self and the ego – That is the cycle! Culture then, is nothing more than a program. It is not principle, it is a description of the idea of itself!

Terence McKenna and his idea of extropy is explained through the window of opportunity we can call novelty.

One of Terence McKenna’s most widely promulgated ideas is known as Novelty theory. It predicts the ebb and flow of novelty in the universe as an inherent quality of time. McKenna developed the theory in the mid 1970s after his experiences in the Amazon at La Chorrera led him to closely study the King Wen sequence of the I-Ching. Novelty theory involves ontology, extropy, and eschatology.

The theory proposes that the universe is an engine designed for the production and conservation of novelty. Novelty, in this context, can be thought of as newness, or extropy (a term coined by Max More meaning the opposite of entropy). According to McKenna, when novelty is graphed over time, a fractal waveform known as “timewave zero” or simply the “timewave” results. The graph shows at what time periods, but never at what locations, novelty increases or decreases.

Considered by some to represent a model of history’s most important events, the universal algorithm has also been extrapolated to be a model for future events. McKenna admitted to the expectation of a “singularity of novelty”, and that he and his colleagues projected many hundreds of years into the future to find when this singularity (runaway “newness” or extropy) could occur. The graph of extropy had many enormous fluctuations over the last 25,000 years, but amazingly, it hit an asymptote at exactly December 22, 2012. In other words, entropy (or habituation) no longer exists after that date. It is impossible to define that state. The technological singularity concept parallels this, only at a date roughly three decades later. According to leading expert Ray Kurzweil), another concept called cultural singularity (essentially cultural dissolution, or language dissolution), parallels this as well. Terence claimed to have no knowledge of the Mayan calendar, which ends one day before the Timewave graph does: December 21, 2012, this is likely to be true as Mckennas timewave theory, also known as “Time Wave Zero”, was published in The Invisible Landscape 12 years before the book which brought the Mayan calendar into public consciousness; José Argüelles’s The Mayan Factor.

We live along a linear plain of time (so we are led to believe) that is imbued with the memory of previous actions performed by ourselves and our ancestors, at least this is the logical assumption. The reality of this assumption is responsible for the splintering of the human psyche, causing stress amongst us. As far as singularities are concerned we will all eventually come to this simple conclusion, that science, philosophy, religion and art are all designed to inform.

When I began to absorb this video’s information it floored me. It unnerved me. It made me question my belief system and it makes me want to know more. The Growing Earth Theory is an alternative to the Theory of Continental Drift. The Theory’s central proposition is that the Earth’s landmass was once joined and that the Earth was substantially smaller than it’s current size – In other words it is “Growing!” Which is in complete contrast to the Theory of Continental Drift, which states that the Earth’s land mass slides about on what is commonly known as “tectonic plates” and it is the movement of these plates that are the main cause of earthquakes and related phenomena. That the Earth since forming, has kept that form. If the information presented in this video by Neal Adams proves to be true and correct we have a lot of re-writing to do. But then again if you follow along with what the presenter, Albert Bartlett a Professor Emeritus of Physics at University of Colorado-Boulder, is saying, it’s quite easy to pay attention, because it is so compelling. A Mathematics Lecture that dispels any myths out there about “Peak Oil” and Resource Management. The dangers of a “growth” fanatical system, the effects of over zealous consumerism and how to change our perceptions about these and what we can do about conserving what we have for future generations. I will add that it is 60 minutes in length in total, as the lecture is broken up into parts because of YouTube limitations, but it is a broken hour out of your life that will change the way you look at the western world and consumerism. In the mythology of Bon, the native religion of Tibet, Shambhala was a Central Asian kingdom, the origin and center of the world whence issued all spiritual energies.

Internally, Shambhala is the dharma chakra, located in the heart of all beings. It is the symbol for mind, completing the trinity of body, speech, and mind.

The esoteric meaning of Shambhala is tathagatagarbha, buddha-nature, the essence of all things. It transcends existence and non-existence and is the ground of both samsara and nirvana. According to the Kalachakra Tantra, the Emperor of Shambhala, Rigden, waged war against and subdued the Three Lords of Materialism: the Lord of Form, the Lord of Speech, and the Lord of Mind. In the Dark Age these Three Lords extend their power and seduction, enslaving the human mind with psychological and spiritual materialism. When Shambhala is acknowledged—when buddha-nature shines through—the strategies of the Three Lords become irrelevant and the teachings of the Kalachakra Tantra are realized.

Finding the qualities that unite both points of view. It is my aim for you to see how this knowledge can be of practical use to you by sharing with you my approach to both disciplines.
