<div>Just about 4 months ago, I was accused of petty theft in Nevada. A loss prevention officer took me into the back room and had me sign a civil demand notice form and opted NOT to call the police on me. Instead, I signed a summons program that said I will be getting a court summons in the mail. I received the civil demand a few days later and paid it quickly. I've been checking with the courts and they have no information about me to date. I recently talked with the local Police Department who said that there is a case under my name for petty theft, but that it's not assigned to a police officer and that &quot;it's closed.&quot; Unassigned, according to their website, means that available leads of investigation have been exhausted and they may resume investigation if new information comes to light. The clerk on the phone said that it's closed and that the report is available for pickup. Does this mean that I might not have to go to court for this crime and that it's over? I'm 20 years old.</div>

<div>My boyfriend and I were pulled over for a tail light being out. He told me as the officer was walking up that he had marijuana in a tin box that was in the dashboard. I freaked out and grabbed it to hide it, but the officer saw me and asked me what I was trying to hide. He went on to say that if I didn't tell him, he would get a warrant to search the car and would find it anyway. He said if I was honest with him about it from the beginning, he would work with me. I figured he would find it anyway, so I told him what it was. My license is currently suspended and I was dependent on my boyfriend to take me to work so I could pay my bills and support my daughter. I knew that if he was charged with it, he would lose his license and I would lose my job, my house, everything. So I said it was mine. In hindsight, the officer kept saying he knew it was mine and didn't even ask my boyfriend if it was his or if he knew about it. He was the driver!! Basically, I had two DUS's when I was 18-19. I was naive back then and made mistakes and I am more responsible now. However, I was pulled over in November and was charged with another DUS. Basically, I paid a ticket late but didn't realize I had to take proof of that to the DMV since it was late and honestly had no idea it was suspended. Since it was my third one, despite the last two being over 12 years ago, I was labeled a habitual offender. I cannot drive for 2 years. I did not know until after the fact that if I am charged with this, I will not be able to get my license back for 5 years. My boyfriend is now my ex. I broke up with him with him after I caught him using marijuana again. I have a job that allows me to work from home and my friends and mom take me to any appointments. My ex refuses to admit it was his, so it is my word against his. If I am charged with simple possession of marijuana, it will literally ruin my life! I want to be able to date and meet someone, go back to school, keep my job and be able to find a job in the future when I am ready to move on from my current one. All of these things will be nearly impossible without my license. I cannot afford a lawyer. I am desperate to beat this and be found innocent (which I truly am!).I need help ASAP! I appreciate any advice that anyone may be able to offer!</div>

She doesn't want to lose her job since she just started working to raise money for her a vehicle since he will not help pay for one. My question is can he make her go and visit and make her take a week off of work? He lives 500 miles away so it isn't like she could still work and go and visit. Please advise.</div>

<div>I wasn't sure exactly where to put this, but I was considering taking my contractor to court and was wondering if I had a viable case. My job was not a huge one... some cabinets got wet and needed replacing as well as some drywall. That's all this contractor was responsible for. It's now been two months since my kitchen has been functional. I was promised several times for the sink/dishwasher to be replaced and put back in, just for the contractor not to show. It was finally done this weekend, and now I've got broken countertops and a broken pipe that were just fine before! The work was mediocre at best anyway... the countertops that they put back don't even line up, and now they're telling me the work is done when there is painting and replacing of baseboards/woodwork/etc that is not done. I'm guessing it'll take now another several weeks (if they'll even come back) to replace the work. With replacing the countertops, as they are older, it's likely I'll either have everything mismatched or have to bite the bullet and replace the other two counters as well. This claim keeps getting more and more expensive as things that were fine before are now damaged goods! Please advise? I'm located in Phoenix, AZ.</div>

<div>My boyfriend had dropped me off at a friend's house and went to the library to use their WiFi. He called me and said he had a dead battery, so my friend took me to him. After not being able to jump it off, we had to call a tow truck. While attempting to jump it off the first time, I found a small container on the ground. I went to show my boyfriend what I found on the ground. He said it was marijuana. Literally right after I showed him, I saw a police officer turning around, so I went to toss it in the bushes. The officers(there were two in the car) asked us why we were at the library so late and what I had tossed into the bushes. He put us both in handcuffs and separated us. I denied tossing into the bushes anything because I didn't think he would truly believe that I had just found it and didn't know what it was. He said he could fingerprint it and if I admitted it, he would let me go. I didn't want to go to jail and knew that my fingerprints were on it since I had just touched it, so I just said it was mine. He wrote me a ticket for simple possession (only 1 gram...not sure how much that is, but it wasn't much at all!) and let me go. He never read me my rights, but then again, he never officially said I was under arrest. I have never smoked marijuana in my life and do not have any drug charges on my record. I have never done drugs in my life! I know I can't do PTI because I have already done it for a bad check I wrote when I was 18. I am about to graduate from nursing school and simply cannot have this on my record. If I tell the truth, I seriously doubt they will believe me. I can only afford a public defender and she isn't being very helpful. I know he doesn't have me on camera tossing it because it was to the left of him and the patrol car camera wouldn't have been pointing that way. I never should've admitted to it, bu I didn't want to go to jail and knew my fingerprints were on it. The police report says I adamantly denied it, but could they have a recording of me saying it was mine? How can I beat this and prove it wasn't mine? I am worried sick! I have invested so much time and money into nursing school and canot afford to have it ruined by this! I am desperate for advice and to know what my defenses are. Thanks in advance for your time and help!!</div>

I am trying to find out if this marriage was ever legal. Also, now she is trying to make me pay child support for her two children, which have already been proven by DNA test not to be mine, because she says I am legal father to her children since we were still married when they were born. Is this even possible?</div>

I had 1 corporal and a bonding officer tell me that they didnt know why they were treating me that way. I'm just curious to know if I may possibly have a case because, to be honest, I've been having 1 hell of a time sleeping now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.</div>
