Why I Advocate The Zeitgeist Movement & Venus Project

There are so many reasons WHY one is likely to advocate The Zeitgeist Movement & The Venus Project. For myself it was the only "real solution" after being thoroughly convince that "this shit's gotta go!"

Locking up the bankers, going back to a gold standard, electing the right president, going off the grid, leaving the USA, revolting in the streets, waiting on a messiah and any other proposed idea seemed like utter non sense.

Today, I have a new passion for life. I care about the planet and other people. Started a Zeitgeist Chapter in the city I live. Met Jacque Fresco and advocate the largest paradigm shift of all humanity for humanity!

People fear the Zeitgeist movement because they fear the unknown. Even if the system works in theory, it has not been tested yet, and people would rather cling to the vestigial remnants of an archaic system that is known to them, than to a system that is unknown.

I think it won't be until after the first of Jacque's cities are made, that people will realize it is a viable way to live. Either that, or they will have to wait for the old system to collapse under it's own weight.

Zeitgeist Moving Forward - January 2011

Zeitgeist: Moving Forward, by director Peter Joseph, is a feature length documentary work which will present a case for a needed transition out of the current socioeconomic monetary paradigm which governs the entire world society.

This subject matter will transcend the issues of cultural relativism and traditional ideology and move to relate the core, empirical "life ground" attributes of human and social survival, extrapolating those immutable natural laws into a new sustainable social paradigm called a "Resource-Based Economy".

As Peter always states - he is not a leader and this "movement" is not an organization as such; it is simply an attempt to provide solutions to a failing world system.

For now I see the biggest challenge is just waking people up to the systemic failures of the system and the importance and urgency of creating a a new paradigm.

How it all comes together, who knows... But all we can do is move forward with an open mind, open heart and connect and engage and really listen to each other while overcoming the ego desires which we are leaving behind as this new era unfolds.

How can we achieve the Transition from Monetary to Resource Based Economy?

When I watched the Zeitgeist films, I asked myself, is there a way we can transit between our current system to that of the enlightened system that the Zeitgeist Movement promotes. After pondering the subject I think I may have discovered a way in which we can achieve transition from a Monetary Based Economy to a Resource Based Economy:

1. The first thing we would need to do is Rally Enough people to the cause, and do everything we can to help the majority become aware and educated by the ideas of the Zeitgeist Movement.

2. We then need to perform public Demonstrations to show the government that we want a Resource Based Economy.

3. Next we will need to convince the corporate elite into developing a mutual transitional system (5-10 years) in which we will agree to work for the company until they are able to replace our jobs with more efficient technology and we give them a deadline.

4. Once the mutual transitional period is up, the workers are relieved of their jobs yet the company still pays them the same wages. And if the company spent those years developing technologies that were more efficient than the actual workers, then the company should still be able to make a profit even after paying the former workers. (If every industry chose to do this at the same time, every company would be on a similar level, able to produce goods with out the repetitious labor from a human worker.)

5. The next step after that would be that since we would still be in a monetary system, the automation and efficiency of every industry would allow goods to be cheaper, so the value of the dollar should go up. And when this happens, the people who were relieved of their jobs can either sit back and enjoy a decent standard of life, or they can choose to work for a company but at a higher level that requires a higher level of education.

6. Now jobs would be based on making technologies even more efficient, the job market would require higher education. People seeking to gain more wealth, will seek higher education for the job market which will require the handling of complex technological systems, thus promoting education to acquire more wealth. This will help companies become even more technologically efficient, because they will have to pay out less money because the work force will be smaller, and because of the new efficiency they will be able to still make profit. And as companies become even more technologically efficient, goods become less scarce and easier to make so the prices go down, and the value of the dollar continues to go up.

7. If this process were to continue, to the point where companies were fully automated, and goods are able to streamlined on request, then we will eventually reach a point where money will no longer be necessary. I think if our goal was to try to cooperate with elitist of the the Monetary system then there is a way that we could transition into a Resource Based Economy. The Corporate Elitist want to keep things the way they are because they want to sustain their leisurely lifestyles. They don't want a new system because they are benefiting from the current system.

But if we presented a way that showed they couldn't lose anything by switching only gain, then I think they would be up for the idea. In addition, this transitional idea is good because the core idea is to help companies become more efficient so that the value of the DOLLAR continues to go up to the point where a dollar has so much value that its totally it becomes unnecessary. That way the People at the top are never actually loosing anything in fact, as the value of the dollar increases you will need less and less money.

Example

A Young Guy hits the lotto and puts 1,000,000 dollars in the bank. He wants to buy a yacht for $500,000. Or he can wait until after the transitional period (5-10 years) and the yacht producing companies develop more efficient technologies so now he can purchase a more advanced and efficient yacht for $50,000. And so can every body else. Or if he waits 20 years he can buy the yacht for $1,000. 30 years and companies have advanced so much that everything can be streamlined so money no longer has any relevance. This Transition idea is basic and I know there are other factors to be taken into account but i just wanted to put this out there so people could begin to think of ways in which we could transition, rather than have to go through a giant collapse of the economical and social structures of the world to finally get to a Resource Based Economy.

SIMPLE BREAK DOWN TIME LINE:

People Agree to work for a Company for Transitional Period.
Company has reliable workers and is able to invest in more efficient technology. (5-10 years period)
People are relieved from jobs by more advanced technology and still get paid.
Due to technology being more efficient than human workers, company still makes profit.
Overall Industries all move to a higher level of production so prices go down, and the value of the dollar increases. (This Benefits all Consumers)
People who seek more wealth invest in becoming more educated to work at a higher position in a company. (Smaller Work Force, More Profit)
Companies become even more efficient and gain more money.
Prices get even lower, and the value of the dollar goes up due to greater efficiency in productivity.
Purchasing power becomes greater for all consumers.
Full Automation of Companies, allow for a world of companies that virtually run themselves. They can all become interconnected, no need for competition. Everyone Benefits, money becomes obsolete.

Netherlands is a country which has taken a step ahead towards the Venus Project proposals regarding crime. The Dutch example comes as proof that crime, can in fact, be dramatically reduced.

The Dutch justice ministry has announced it will close eight prisons and cut 1,200 jobs in the prison system. A decline in crime has left many cells empty. During the 1990s the Netherlands faced a shortage of prison cells, but a decline in crime has since led to overcapacity in the prison system. The country now has capacity for 14,000 prisoners but only 12,000 detainees.

Deputy justice minister Nebahat Albayrak announced on Tuesday that eight prisons will be closed, resulting in the loss of 1,200 jobs. Natural redundancy and other measures should prevent any forced lay-offs, the minister said.

The overcapacity is a result of the declining crime rate, which the ministry's research department expects to continue for some time.

Belgian prisoners

Some reprieve might come from a deal with Belgium, which is facing overpopulation in its prisons. The two countries are working out an agreement to house Belgian prisoners in Dutch prisons. Some five-hundred Belgian prisoners could be transferred to the Tilburg prison by 2010. The Netherlands would get 30 million euros in the deal, and it will allow the closing of the prisons in Rotterdam and Veenhuizen to be postponed until 2012.

Where should we focus our energy?

It is my firm belief that it will be beneficial for us to remain positive about our future.

There is a common understanding that, "what you focus on, you are most likely to receive". Some see this as a spiritual thing, and others as part of human behavioral science. I am of the latter view, which is not too important.

Over the past few months I have seen so so so so many different videos about so many different theories. I have also been speaking with so many different people about their different theories. There is a common theme amongst a lot of people which is to focus on this negative "thing(s)" that is going happen. There are so many who want to spread the word about the evil, about the problems etc.

What we are focusing on, we are more likely to receive. So let us focus on the positive angles on these issues. Let us focus on solutions, positive ones, that bring about peace, unity, respect, love, happiness and lots of nice things. :)

I agree, it is important to not ignore the possible threats, but it does no one good to go on and on and on about them. If someone does, let them go. Use your logic and your calm to rebut some of their arguments, but if they go too far, let them go in their own mind. What's more, think about how these groups are received by the critical mass who don't know.

Let us focus more energy on solutions. Let us all be Think Tanks for a way forwards. We need to discuss the future and the positive stuff, as we know the problems. -Bebe Worsfield

Fighting For A Better World - What can YOU do?

I hear these questions a lot: "What's Next?", "What should I do?", "How can I help?", etc. The answer is simple: "What can you do?"

Many people await for someone to guide them. But whether you believe in the Zeitgeist movement or not, the same principle applies: stop waiting for people to tell you what to do and start asking yourself this question. Start becoming the change you want to see in the world.

Other people think we can never change the world because the tasks ahead of us are simply to big and there are too many. This is simply not true.

If we all do something, things will change. Many people around the world are contributing to help any cause they believe in and they are shaping our world.

If you ask yourself "what should I do?", start asking yourself "what can I do?". We all have different talents and passions and causes we believe in. If we all use them to contribute into making this world better, we will change things for better.

So, what can you do? Some basic things that most people can do are:

Spray paint messages over corporate billboards, walls, sidewalks in order to get people thinking
Put up posters or stickers with zeitgeist or other eye catching messages which will make people think on poles, mailboxes, peoples cars
Do extensive research on the topics that you want to spread about, so that you are informed and very articulate about your ideas. You won't win any arguments if you can't speak clearly and are very knowledgeable about what you are trying to state. Increase your vocabulary, practice public speaking.
Read Culture Jam by Kalle Lasn. It extends and discusses many zeitgeist related ideas and is an amazing, powerful, revolutionary book.
The only way the change will come is by people with changed minds. The sooner the masses minds are changed, the sooner change will start to come.

Paul Grignon's 47-minute animated presentation of "Money as Debt" tells in very simple and effective graphic terms what money is and how it is being created. It is an entertaining way to get the message out.

The Cowichan Citizens Coalition and its "Duncan Initiative" received high praise from those who previewed it. I recommend it as a painless but hard-hitting educational tool and encourage the widest distribution and use by all groups concerned with the present unsustainable monetary system.

This highly informative and easy to understand film covers just about everything that isn't taught in school regarding the corrupt banking system.
