On April 22, an intramural Earth Day hike provided a break from the mundane routine of studying as students embarked on UWG's hiking trails in the 80 degree weather.

Students met at the Intramural Office at noon and Tara Mostowy of Intramural Outdoor Recreation led the two-mile, nature hike.

The University of West Georgia is a unique school. As Dr. Sethna says, "it provides educational excellence in a personal environment." He's right.

But with enrollment planned to reach 14,500 by 2015, this college also has a lot of growing up to do if it wants to achieve the "robust" tier status it so desperately craves within the University System of Georgia.

After yet another controversial opinion piece in The West Georgian, questions should be raised about the student body's knowledge of the newspaper medium and its tolerance for opinions dissenting from the status quo.

Aries - March 21-April 19
Frankly, the moustache plan won't work. Try simply talking to girls instead.

Taurus - April 20-May 20
Unusual yes, but that doesn't mean your ability to fart on command is impressive. Wait, nevermind, that's actually pretty cool.

- It's unfortunate that on such a sunny, beautiful day, I have to start studying for finals.

Dear Miss Conduct-

Somebody wrote something that really offends me, to the very core of my being. How do I confront this person or deal with this inconsolable rage burning through my body?

-Too Angry for Reason

Dear Too Angry,

First, you should try to calm down through logically thinking about what that person was trying to say or achieve.

Snowcone For President is a local three-piece, feel good, jam band with a growing fan base. The members are composed of Jeremy Neese- who is the southern soul sounding lead vocalist and also plays the twisted lead guitar, his younger brother Josh Neese-- who plays the funk-like bass and harmonizing back-up vocals, and Casey "Baby boy" Rooks-- who plays the hard hitting and up-beat drums.

Stolen Minks Steal Party

On "High Kicks," Halifax, Nova Scotia's Stolen Minks prove that they have come into their own as songwriters, as clever covers have given way to eight well-crafted originals.

The album opens with "Bring It," which is a fast-paced, autobiographical party-starter that is guaranteed to get your feet moving.

500 Days of Summer

If you take the title literally, "500 Days of Summer" actually rounds up to roughly a year and half of constant sunny days, consistently tan skin and alas, no school. I suppose we would have to account for Georgia weather throwing us some blistering hot days, followed with peeling skin and, for the unlucky many, the everlasting job hunt.

Wolves Finish Just Short of Post-Season Play

A successful season comes to an end for the West Georgia softball team as their hopes for a Gulf South Conference tournament appearance was put to rest after the top team in the nation swept the doubleheader this weekend. The Wolves needed just one win, but on Alabama-Hunstville's "Senior Day," the Chargers were too much to handle as they blanked the series by scores of 4-0 and 10-2.
