This site is built on Wordpress but as you can see from just clicking around, it’s much more than just another Wordpress site. We’ve harnessed a ton of jQuery, HTML5 and CSS3 to really push it forward from a functionality standpoint on the front-end. And under the hood, the site takes 9 separate types of content and cross-relates everything using a lot of custom functions. For example, take an individual artist’s page. It pulls in videos, audio streams, photo galleries, and the artist’s music releases from other sections on the site automatically to create a full scale overview of the artist and everything they are about.

It’s pretty fancy if we do say so ourselves and we’re definitely proud of this one. Check it out and give Notable some love, you dig!

Additionally, the new webstore we designed and developed for them just launched. This one is built on Big Cartel’s awesome, simple store platform.

Available in the new store is a grip of merch that we designed for the release, based on Jenny and Johnny’s personal vest and jacket. These turned out great, sort of biker meets hipster.

It’s funny, we’re launching with 4 tees and it seems like, to the outsider, “hey, that’s easy enough. slap graphics on 4 tees and throw up a webstore, right?” But in reality, a lot of blood, sweat and tears have gone into the creation of this line and the initial tees over the past year. From getting the designs just right to going through just about every blank garment manufacturer we could get our hands on, to dialing in the printed samples, developing the special hang-tags, designing and developing the site, building out the webstore with GoMerch, and everything in between.

We’re honored that Joe trusted us enough to work on the design, branding, and development of his baby.. a line of clothing that tells quite the story and is inspired by everything from the teachings of Terrance McKenna and his experimentation with Hallucinogens to Einstein’s research in relativity.. more of which will be revealed as the onion peels.

We’re excited to see where this goes.

Site has a bunch of subtle jQuery features and is built on the Wordpress 3.0 platform with - as you can see from the admin panel screenshot below - a ton of customization using Fluency Admin, Magic Fields, and a host of other core plugins for SEO, analytics, cache, and other performance bits and pieces.

We did the posters again this year, drawing on the old 80’s movie poster theme. Check them out below, and take a stroll through the new site!

The basic idea here is that Ki:Theory is giving away a couple albums and EPs free on kitheory.com and was looking for a cool way to do it. They wanted fans to be able to stream previews of the album and ep tracks right on the site, as well as add either the full release or individual tracks to a cart and download everything at once.

So, after a bit of brainstorming on the best way to do this, we came up with the little widget you see below. Check it out on kitheory.com to see it in action and download Arms For Legs and Brittle Branches for free right now.

This little widget uses Topspin’s awesome cart and digital download system, Soundcloud’s great little play widgets and audio hosting, PayPal’s donation button, Twitter and Facebook share tools, and jQuery’s fancy tabs and fades to create a pretty quick and easy listening, downloading, donating and sharing experience all in one. Compact but powerful, lightweight but with a big impact.

Over the last few months we’ve been building out the store with Wendy and Casper’s team over at GoMerch. Gathering the goods from around the world, designing and developing the custom storefront, building merchandise packages.. The fruits of those labors have now launched.
