Ive just got back into reading trek books in the last few months and I have to say that the quality is so much better than those early Next gen novels i used to read.

Has anyone else been reading the on going series ? I like how it covers Enterprise, Voyager Titan and Aventine and the story line seems to be going in a very interesting direction. Im just reading them too damn fast and im gonna run out soon....so think i may have to read the ones before the Destiny.

Currently reading Full Circle ...the voyager one...

I'd been out of the ST book scene for several years until I started reading them again on my Kindle. Most of them are older ones I've had to convert from Microsoft Reader format but they convert well.

I noticed that the first edition hardcover of New Frontier: Stone and Anvil came with a CD of the first 16 books/stories in ebook form. I was excited as I didn't have most of these and I was actually able to find a copy that supposedly has the original bonus disc with it.

Does anyone out there have this? If so, what can you tell me about it? I'd assumed that the ebooks were in Microsoft Reader lit format, one of the most popular of the time. Since first reading of this bonus though, I've read that these may not be proper ebooks in the normal sense and may just be pdf files, with or without covers, etc. Can anyone confirm the format of these ebooks?

Also, is anyone aware of Pocket Books doing anything like this before or since?

Thanks in advance to anyone that might be able to help me.

Sincerely,

Hi Again,

I always get the idea the the Star Trek franchise owners are lost. The old numbered book series at leats stayed with a theme for a few books but now, we are all over the places.Since the reboot, even some of the authors are "onhold" until they get the okay to move the story forward.

In my opinion they need to sit down and come up with a 5 year plan. With books that fill in some of the unknowns on the movie while we are waiting for the next one.

Hi, my name's Adenil. I'm a huge Star Trek fan and over the years I have accumulated more than 150 books. The other day I was thinking it would be great to share all those books with people, and so I had the idea to do an on line lending library. I was wondering if any of you think there would be interest in something like that, and any suggestions you might have.
Thanks in advance.

so I was a little concerned when I read ebert's rating of 2 and a half stars. after seeing it for myself, I'll have to say, he was being generous. If you thought that the James Bond reboot was handled poorly, man, do I have bad news for you. From actions scenes filmed in no less then 50 cuts per 5 minute scene, to a bridge that has more lense flares then a poorly coded myspace page, the new star trek movie will wow you with it's lack of attention to purely scientific details, or the inability of the plot to engage you at any time. The main bad guy apparently was lost in space for 25 years, but pshh, didn't age a day. He was going to go kill Spock at one point, but then just left him on an ice planet (where spock just slept in an ice cave, instead of the starfleet base a short walk away), and then seemed to forget about 'old' spock and decided to rush after 'young' spock, who was upset that his mother had been vaporized due to a 2 foot drop.

Tiki's rating: one star, and that's only because there was a green girl in her underwear, and that's it. This is not a good movie, and replaces Nemesis on my 'worst star trek movie ever' list.

so I've read through the first three books from this series (including the one with the pull out map, yay!) and I'll have to admit it took me a while to get back some of the gratuitous plot points (a gay & sexual aggresive vulcan foremost in my mind), but eventually I got to like the series. I can tell there's a few characters that have shown up in other book series, as the authors just throw them in without a care in the world, lol.
