For example, if you follow my suggestion of going to the city park to watch a movie or listen to a concert, there most likely will not be a set up there for you to fire up the grill. No problem. You can still have the taste of yummy cheeseburgers. The solution is cheeseburger bread.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I researched recipes, experimented and came up with a winner. Not only will friends and family love the taste, but it is very portable and taste great room temperature-- making it a great picnic food. Enjoy!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div class="item single-recipe-header clrfix"&gt;&lt;h1&gt;Cheeseburger Bread&lt;/h1&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;h3&gt;Ingredients&lt;/h3&gt; &lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt; 1 lb ground beef or turkey&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt; 1/2 teaspoon salt &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt; 1/4 teaspoon pepper &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt; 1 onion, finely chopped &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt; 1 garlic clove, minced (or 1/4 garlic powder)&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;1/4 cup yellow mustard &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;1/2 cup ketchup &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt; 1 tube of refrigerated pizza dough&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt; 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;span class="step"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1.&lt;/span&gt; Heat the oven to 375° F.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;span class="step"&gt;2.&lt;/span&gt; Brown turkey in large skillet over medium high heat. Drain off the meat (you can skip this step if your meat is very lean). Stir in onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and heat until onion is transparent (about 4 minutes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. Stir in ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce into the turkey mixture then bring up to a bubble and simmer until thickened (about 4-5 minutes). Allow the meat mixture to cool.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;span class="step"&gt;4.&lt;/span&gt; Lightly grease a 10- by 15-inch cookie sheet or use an un-greased baking stone the same size.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5. Unroll the pizza dough onto the cookie sheet. Extend the dough to the edges of the cookie sheet, and be careful to keep the thickness of the dough even. Slice the pizza dough lengthwise to create two 5- by 15-inch rectangles.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;6. Sprinkle the turkey mixture over the two doughs. Top with the shredded cheddar cheese.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;7. Fold over about 1 inch of the short ends, then roll up each rectangle the long way to create 2 loaves. Pinch the ends closed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;8. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let the loaves cool for about 5 minutes before slicing.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Makes 8 servings.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SnvqfxymmCI/AAAAAAAAA-U/ufIqYkbl5W0/s1600-h/CheeseBurgerBreadIngred.JPG"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SnvqfxymmCI/AAAAAAAAA-U/ufIqYkbl5W0/s400/CheeseBurgerBreadIngred.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367141212604504098" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SnvqgjEkE0I/AAAAAAAAA-k/H5xDKrhQs-U/s1600-h/Turkey.JPG"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SnvqgjEkE0I/AAAAAAAAA-k/H5xDKrhQs-U/s400/Turkey.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367141225833173826" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: center;"&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SnvqgC2ESZI/AAAAAAAAA-c/FobIVsCHueg/s1600-h/loaf.JPG"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SnvqgC2ESZI/AAAAAAAAA-c/FobIVsCHueg/s400/loaf.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367141217182435730" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3211514398765165709-668964869410228089?l=sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~4/03NwhcPwoE8" height="1" width="1"/&gt;</content><link rel="replies" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/feeds/668964869410228089/comments/default" title="Post Comments" /><link rel="replies" type="text/html" href="http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3211514398765165709&amp;postID=668964869410228089&amp;isPopup=true" title="2 Comments" /><link rel="edit" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/668964869410228089" /><link rel="self" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/668964869410228089" /><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~3/03NwhcPwoE8/cheese-burger-bread.html" title="Cheese Burger Bread" /><author><name>Michele Dugar</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/03376020221099887624</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel="http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail" width="32" height="32" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SVF-v9lPloI/AAAAAAAAANg/gdxFTktFbsI/s1600-R/26ec630.jpg" /></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/" url="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SnvqfmmoAdI/AAAAAAAAA-M/vZyTEz-Xyhw/s72-c/CheeseBurgerBread.jpg" height="72" width="72" /><thr:total>2</thr:total><feedburner:origLink>http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/2009/08/cheese-burger-bread.html</feedburner:origLink></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3211514398765165709.post-3156613359448138388</id><published>2009-08-06T10:37:00.004-04:00</published><updated>2010-01-29T12:30:23.167-05:00</updated><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Finds + Gifts" /><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Entertaining" /><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Kids + Baby" /><title type="text">Doing It In The Park: GLOW BABY GLOW</title><content type="html">&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/Snrw1q9tn_I/AAAAAAAAA98/DHStsb2AQgE/s1600-h/Glowbracelets"&gt;&lt;img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 250px; height: 250px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/Snrw1q9tn_I/AAAAAAAAA98/DHStsb2AQgE/s400/Glowbracelets" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366866710822232050" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here's a cool idea to help make evenings at the park more fun and save a little money too...&lt;br /&gt;glow-in-the-dark jewelry.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As mentioned in my last post, parks across the country are sponsoring evening music concerts as well as summer movie series. This is a great opportunity to spend quality time with friends and family. The glaring sun is gone and you may catch a few breezes, plus there's the free entertainment (free is good).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Don't be surprised to see vendors selling glow-in-the-dark sticks or necklaces when outdoor entertainment takes place at your city park. I love the idea of the glow sticks &amp;amp; jewelry for &lt;u&gt;everyone&lt;/u&gt; (young &amp;amp; grown), whether it's a single family or a big group of friends. Not only are they fun, but these glowing novelty items make it easier to keep an eye on the kids in the dark.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If glow-in-the-dark novelty items are sold at the park, you can expect for the prices to be relatively high. High prices can be problematic if there are many children in your group. I suggest ordering your own supply from &lt;a href="http://www.orientaltrading.com/"&gt;Oriental Trading Company&lt;/a&gt;. Check out below my top picks.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/Snrw166gOaI/AAAAAAAAA-E/grzuZpUQenM/s1600-h/GlowNecklace.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 250px; height: 250px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/Snrw166gOaI/AAAAAAAAA-E/grzuZpUQenM/s400/GlowNecklace.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366866715103738274" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span class="opDefaultContent" id="z8h1"&gt;&lt;span class="newbodygray"&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/browse/processRequest.do?demandPrefix=12&amp;amp;sku=24/1026&amp;amp;prodCatId=377506&amp;amp;mode=Browsing&amp;amp;erec=11&amp;amp;sp=true&amp;amp;Ntk=all&amp;amp;Ntx=mode%2bmatchallpartial&amp;amp;N=377506&amp;amp;requestURI=processProductsCatalog&amp;amp;sd=Glow+Necklace+Party+Pack"&gt;Glow Necklace Party Pack&lt;/a&gt;. If offered in your city, I encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities for free outdoor entertainment. Here's a list of things to bring to help take full advantage of this good ol' family-friendly fun.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Essentials&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1) Blankets &amp;amp;/or Folding Chairs&lt;br /&gt;2) Bug Repellent Spray&lt;br /&gt;3) Drinks --- Avoid sodas with caffeine for the kids&lt;br /&gt;4) Snacks --- The movies start at nightfall (usually after 8pm). This time of evening does not call for heavy food.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Nice Touches&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5) Pillows&lt;br /&gt;6) Themed Invitation --- Think you may want to invite some friends to join you? I can confidently say that with age, I have grown wiser. However, I am actively seeking more wisdom and spiritual guidance. If like me you desire stronger and clearer connections to our spiritual selves and God, I believe these books will benefit you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;a href="http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Tapping-the-Power-Within/Iyanla-Vanzant/e/9781401923051/?itm=2"&gt;Tapping the Power Within: A Path to Self-Empowerment for Women &lt;/a&gt;by Iyanla Vanzant&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://images.barnesandnoble.com/images/34060000/34062731.JPG"&gt;&lt;img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 185px; height: 278px;" src="http://images.barnesandnoble.com/images/34060000/34062731.JPG" alt="" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;The revised and expanded 20th-anniversary edition of &lt;b&gt;Iyanla &lt;/b&gt;&lt;b&gt;Vanzant&lt;/b&gt;’s first published work offers a powerful path to self-empowerment through the revitalization of one’s spiritual and ancestral roots. Written with Iyanla’s signature healing stories, this classic guide to uniting the will with the spirit teaches that only &lt;i&gt;you &lt;/i&gt;have the power to make a change for the better. With chapters on basic breathing and meditation techniques, setting up a home altar, connecting with ancestors and guardian spirits, and the extraordinary power of forgiveness, this book is a great companion on the way toward the real you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"&gt; Known for teaching by principle and example, this exclusive edition also contains Iyanla’s special “What I Know Now” commentaries and an original CD. These tools will challenge you to stop struggling and start recognizing that it &lt;i&gt;is &lt;/i&gt;possible to reconcile your humanity with your divinity. Whether you are a beginner on the path or a veteran in need of refreshment, Iyanla’s prescriptions can support your growth from the comfort of spiritual adolescence to the wisdom of spiritual maturity. You no longer need to settle for the way things &lt;i&gt;are&lt;/i&gt; . . . you can open up to the way things can &lt;i&gt;be—&lt;/i&gt;if you dare to tap the power within!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;"&gt;&lt;b&gt;-------------------------------------------------------&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;a href="http://search.barnesandnoble.com/How-to-Hear-from-God/Joyce-Meyer/e/9780446691246/?itm=1&amp;amp;tabname=custreview#TABS"&gt;How to Hear from God: Learn to Know His Voice and Make Right Decisions&lt;/a&gt; by Joyce Meyer&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://images.barnesandnoble.com/images/33370000/33378759.JPG"&gt;&lt;img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 184px; height: 280px;" src="http://images.barnesandnoble.com/images/33370000/33378759.JPG" alt="" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;In the introduction to this book, author &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Joyce Meyer&lt;/span&gt; says, "Learning to hear from God and be led by the Holy Spirit is very exciting. God wants to speak to us about the plan He has for our lives. His plan is a good plan, but we are in danger of missing it if we don't learn how to listen to and obey God's voice." This book is Meyer's way of helping the reader learn how to do both.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In describing ways of listening to God, Meyer lists many ways in which God speaks to us. Many are ways that we might think of readily, such as through the Bible and prayer. But she has a much longer list of ways that God makes God's desires known to us, from dreams and visions to the wise counsel of others, and does not fail to mention the world around us as a communicator of God's will.&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3211514398765165709-5755164028945506589?l=sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~4/aH0nBSnLXoA" height="1" width="1"/&gt;</content><link rel="replies" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/feeds/5755164028945506589/comments/default" title="Post Comments" /><link rel="replies" type="text/html" href="http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3211514398765165709&amp;postID=5755164028945506589&amp;isPopup=true" title="0 Comments" /><link rel="edit" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/5755164028945506589" /><link rel="self" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/5755164028945506589" /><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~3/aH0nBSnLXoA/spiritual-connections-books-that-help.html" title="Spiritual Connections -Books That Help Us Connect to God &amp; Our Divine Power" /><author><name>Michele Dugar</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/03376020221099887624</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel="http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail" width="32" height="32" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SVF-v9lPloI/AAAAAAAAANg/gdxFTktFbsI/s1600-R/26ec630.jpg" /></author><thr:total>0</thr:total><feedburner:origLink>http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/2009/06/spiritual-connections-books-that-help.html</feedburner:origLink></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3211514398765165709.post-4990965739367170676</id><published>2009-06-17T08:50:00.002-04:00</published><updated>2010-01-29T12:34:16.684-05:00</updated><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Finds + Gifts" /><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Entertaining" /><title type="text">When Can You Meet? Free website to help coordinate schedules for your next event</title><content type="html">Get-togethers with friends can be great. Even a simple meeting over coffee can lead to great laughs and fond memories. While the occasion may be simple, the task of coordinating busy schedules for a mutually convenient meet up time, can be challenging. The more people there are, the more difficult it is to nail down a particular time. Fortunately, there is a website that can really help.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://whenisgood.net/"&gt;When Is Good&lt;/a&gt; is a free and easy way to get those get-togethers or meetings scheduled. There’s nothing to sign up for, and no password to remember. There are only three simple steps to schedule your event:&lt;br /&gt; 1. Click the grid for all the times that are good for you. You get a link to email to your invitees.&lt;br /&gt; 2. They see your proposed times and click on when they are free.&lt;br /&gt; 3. You visit your results page and see when everyone can get together.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: center;"&gt;Here is the welcome page at WhenIsGood.net.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: center;"&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SjpkKssLvZI/AAAAAAAAA6s/BStpjpvYP6I/s1600-h/whenisgood.gif"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 358px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SjpkKssLvZI/AAAAAAAAA6s/BStpjpvYP6I/s400/whenisgood.gif" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5348697642413833618" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: left;"&gt;Below is the response page from when I used &lt;a href="http://whenisgood.net/"&gt;WhenIsGood.net&lt;/a&gt; to coordinate a time day and time for a Mom's Night Out. The responses from the ladies conclude that 7pm on June 23 is best, with no conflicts. The red dots next to a time, indicate the number of people who had conflicts with that specific time. We can all use more people like that in our lives. Not only do they help us enjoy our current situations but they also help us progress forward to a brighter future.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SjAf-07EmZI/AAAAAAAAA6U/avXr8BqDHwE/s1600-h/NotPositive.gif"&gt;&lt;img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 326px; height: 326px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SjAf-07EmZI/AAAAAAAAA6U/avXr8BqDHwE/s400/NotPositive.gif" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5345807921907538322" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;On the flip side, most of us have seen or have experienced the affects from negative people. I'm talking about people who would rather complain than compliment, discourage instead of encourage, settle for less instead of shoot for more, or taunt instead of teach.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Perhaps it is because of low self esteem, fear or lack that these "haters" are not more giving, positive and progressive. Regardless of the reason, we don't need them. Instead let's focus on those wonderful gems.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A lot is said about surrounding one's self with positive, progressive people. Many millionaires credit their success with the fact that during their humble beginnings, they purposely associated with people who knew and had more they did. Biblical principles caution us to be careful of the company we keep . Biblical principles also guide us to only speak positive words as well as guard our ears (and hearts) from less than positive words.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;OK, so how do we attract positive people into our lives? I believe one way is by treating others how we want to be treated. The second way is by focusing on the type of people we want in our life. Laws of attraction say that what we focus on and give attention to is what we will attract. Instead of fretting on 1) any "haters" or 2) a lack of positive people in your life, think about how nice it would be to have some B.A.S.I.C folk in your life and look for them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What are B.A.S.I.C folk? Well, B.A.S.I.C is an acronym I came up with (at the urging of some Disney African American Mom &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;Bloggers&lt;/span&gt;) to help us remember the characteristics I'm looking for in others and aspire to be myself. B.A.S.I.C folk are people who will...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:180%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;B&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;e there to&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:180%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;A&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;ssist&lt;/span&gt;,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:180%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;S&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"&gt;upport&lt;/span&gt;,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:180%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;I&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;nspire&lt;/span&gt; &amp;amp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:180%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;C&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;elebrate&lt;/span&gt; others.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here's to B.A.S.I.C folk!&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3211514398765165709-1504964339782442185?l=sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~4/QQmGj5Q9cDY" height="1" width="1"/&gt;</content><link rel="replies" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/feeds/1504964339782442185/comments/default" title="Post Comments" /><link rel="replies" type="text/html" href="http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3211514398765165709&amp;postID=1504964339782442185&amp;isPopup=true" title="5 Comments" /><link rel="edit" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/1504964339782442185" /><link rel="self" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/1504964339782442185" /><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~3/QQmGj5Q9cDY/no-haters-allowed-how-to-attract.html" title="No Haters Allowed --How to attract positive people" /><author><name>Michele Dugar</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/03376020221099887624</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel="http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail" width="32" height="32" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SVF-v9lPloI/AAAAAAAAANg/gdxFTktFbsI/s1600-R/26ec630.jpg" /></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/" url="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SjAf-07EmZI/AAAAAAAAA6U/avXr8BqDHwE/s72-c/NotPositive.gif" height="72" width="72" /><thr:total>5</thr:total><feedburner:origLink>http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/2009/06/no-haters-allowed-how-to-attract.html</feedburner:origLink></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3211514398765165709.post-1382402416464801945</id><published>2009-06-10T08:50:00.001-04:00</published><updated>2010-01-29T12:39:24.411-05:00</updated><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Finds + Gifts" /><title type="text">Introducing the Disney Mocha Moms</title><content type="html">&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SjEKKkrKFCI/AAAAAAAAA6c/GkJ5L4oLn6s/s1600-h/DisneyMochaMoms.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SjEKKkrKFCI/AAAAAAAAA6c/GkJ5L4oLn6s/s400/DisneyMochaMoms.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346065409425151010" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt; I recently had the honor and pleasure of being invited to attend the 2nd Annual Walt Disney World African American Mom Blogger Mixer. This was an opportunity for online women of color to learn more about what Disney has to offer as well as connect with one another. Huge thanks to &lt;a href="http://www.mariabailey.com/"&gt;Maria Bailey&lt;/a&gt;, Laura Spencer and Leanne Jakubowski of Disney for making this fabulous experience possible.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What made it so fabulous? Top notch food &amp;amp; drinks, amazing attractions &amp;amp; accomadations and the fellowship with the other Disney Mocha Moms. This was our first time meeting in person but we left as dear friends. Introductions are below. Visit their sites for the valuable resources and entertaining tales these dynamic and personable women offer.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: center;"&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SjEKZuwshnI/AAAAAAAAA6k/5_666NQbr3c/s1600-h/DMMwithLionKing.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SjEKZuwshnI/AAAAAAAAA6k/5_666NQbr3c/s400/DMMwithLionKing.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346065669830772338" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Akilah&lt;/strong&gt; at &lt;a href="http://www.execumama.blogspot.com/"&gt;Execumama&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: normal;"&gt;: She was so much fun and shared plenty of information on spiritual laws of attraction, organic foods and how to strut in stilletoos (she has a fierce collection of fly shoes). This busy mom and published author has a great blog. Check out how warm and funny she is.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Ana&lt;/strong&gt; at &lt;a href="http://www.quiskaeya.com/"&gt;Quiskaeya&lt;/a&gt;: Want the scoop on frugal green living? Then you must visit Ana's blog. There you will find plenty of eco-friendly tips and give-aways. She also shares warm and funny stories about her adventures in motherhood. I already miss her island accent and the fun we had "cheering" loudly during the Disney shows (Ana sounds like Zena the Warrior Princess).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Christie&lt;/strong&gt; at &lt;a href="http://www.christiecrowder.com/"&gt;My Life:A Work in Progress&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="http://www.theblogrollers.com/"&gt;Blogrollers&lt;/a&gt;: Christie is a blast. She has a great laugh and a fun spirit. Tune in to her online radio show at &lt;a href="http://www.blogtalkradio.com/chatterboxradio"&gt;The Chatter Box&lt;/a&gt; and you are sure to become a fan too. This busy blogger, radio personality and life coach if full of knowledge and is so willing to share it.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Latricia&lt;/span&gt; at &lt;a href="http://www.1stopmom.com/"&gt;1stopmom&lt;/a&gt;: Latricia came on the Disney Mocha Mom trip with a determination to experience life to the fullest and try as many things as possible. It was inspiring. She is what we call "good people" - sweet, down-to-earth, sincere and funny. Her blog lives of up to its name of being one stop for many resources and give-aways. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Maria Bailey&lt;/strong&gt; of &lt;a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.bsmmedia.com"&gt;BSM Media&lt;/a&gt;: I call Maria "soul sistah #3". Although she is not a Mocha mom, as one of the trip organizer, she helped make the trip possible and her fun personality helped to make the trip so memorable. I think folk would be surprise to know that the business woman behind &lt;a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.newbaby.com"&gt;NewBaby.com&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.momtalkradio.com"&gt;MomTalkRadio.com&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.bluesuitmom.com"&gt;Blue Suit Mom&lt;/a&gt; is such a hoot. &lt;strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Ronnie&lt;/strong&gt; at &lt;a href="http://blackandmarriedwithkids.com/"&gt;Black and Married with Kids&lt;/a&gt;&lt;strong style="font-weight: normal;"&gt;: I have long admired the blog&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong style="font-weight: normal;"&gt; Ronnie created with her husband Lamar but this Disney trip was our first time meeting in person. Lucky me! She is so cool. Ronnie and Lamar are co-hosting (along with Blackmomsclub.com) a 3 day web conference for Black parents to discuss issues within the Black family. This is a free, live, online telesummit and all are welcome to attend June 12-14 at 8PM each night. Her little one came along and he was the best behaved baby! He has his mom's sweet disposition and gentle spirit. I admire what all Sheena and her jr. high sweetheart are doing with their blog. Check out all the goodies and give-aways they o&lt;/strong&gt;ffer.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;strong&gt;Tanisha&lt;/strong&gt; at &lt;a href="http://tanisharenee.blogspot.com/"&gt;Girl, Lemme tell you&lt;/a&gt;&lt;strong style="font-weight: normal;"&gt;: Check out that blog title. Sounds like a close girlfriend. Right away Tanisha seemed like an old friend. &lt;/strong&gt;She was the resident photographer with her fancy camera always in hand. Her shots turn out great because the lady has skills! I am in awe of her creativity which shines through the scrapbooking projects she features on her blog. Take a look and be inspired.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3211514398765165709-1382402416464801945?l=sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~4/t_2-HG2Qpqw" height="1" width="1"/&gt;</content><link rel="replies" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/feeds/1382402416464801945/comments/default" title="Post Comments" /><link rel="replies" type="text/html" href="http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3211514398765165709&amp;postID=1382402416464801945&amp;isPopup=true" title="3 Comments" /><link rel="edit" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/1382402416464801945" /><link rel="self" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/1382402416464801945" /><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~3/t_2-HG2Qpqw/introducing-disney-mocha-moms.html" title="Introducing the Disney Mocha Moms" /><author><name>Michele Dugar</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/03376020221099887624</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel="http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail" width="32" height="32" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SVF-v9lPloI/AAAAAAAAANg/gdxFTktFbsI/s1600-R/26ec630.jpg" /></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/" url="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SjEKKkrKFCI/AAAAAAAAA6c/GkJ5L4oLn6s/s72-c/DisneyMochaMoms.jpg" height="72" width="72" /><thr:total>3</thr:total><feedburner:origLink>http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/2009/06/introducing-disney-mocha-moms.html</feedburner:origLink></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3211514398765165709.post-8675865258340075611</id><published>2009-05-27T10:14:00.008-04:00</published><updated>2010-02-03T04:25:40.934-05:00</updated><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Decorating" /><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Organizing" /><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Finds + Gifts" /><title type="text">Blooming Marble Magnets - keep lists in check with style</title><content type="html">In many households, the &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;refrigerator&lt;/span&gt; is command central, the go-to spot for reminders, &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;mementos&lt;/span&gt; and task lists. "https://ssl." : "http://www.");&lt;br /&gt;document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/script&gt;A written to do list is a simple technique that can increase your productivity by 20 percent or more, if you don't use it already. It also has extra benefits of clearing your mind and saving you energy and stress. Here are some tips to help you make the most of your to do lists.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1) &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Set Aside Time&lt;/span&gt;. Try to spend 5-10 minutes each day on planning your activities with a daily to do list. Start your day with it. Even better, every evening write a plan for the next day, listing your daily things to do.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2) &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Write&lt;/span&gt;. It is important that you actually WRITE your tasks. Some people are more comfortable doing it on paper, while others prefer using a computer. Try and see what works better for you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3) &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Prioritize&lt;/span&gt;. After you've listed all your tasks, review your to do list and decide on the priority of each task. Give higher priority to the tasks that get you closer to your goals.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A proven simple technique is an ABC rating of your priorities. Mark the tasks on your to do list with ...&lt;br /&gt;"A's" if they are critical for your goals and simply must be be done that day (or else you face serious consequences).&lt;br /&gt;"B's" are less urgent but still important tasks that you should start right after you are done with "A's".&lt;br /&gt;"C's" are "nice to do" things that you could do if you have any time left after "A's" and "C's". Those tasks can be safely moved to another day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4) &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Plan The Unexpected&lt;/span&gt;. One important tip to keep in mind. If during a day some new unplanned task comes up, don't do anything until you put that new task on your list and rate it by priority. See it written among the other tasks and put it in perspective. The more you let go off the urge to skip that simple step, the more productive and satisfied you become.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5) &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Break Tasks Up&lt;/span&gt;. When making a to do list, break down your complex tasks into smaller manageable pieces, and focus on one at a time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;6) Finally, after completion of a task take a moment to look at the result and feel the satisfaction of the progress.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;script type="text/javascript"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;try {&lt;br /&gt;var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-3856517-2");&lt;br /&gt;pageTracker._trackPageview();&lt;br /&gt;} catch(err) {}&lt;/script&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3211514398765165709-5584968915778370729?l=sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~4/aebcxURGJa8" height="1" width="1"/&gt;</content><link rel="replies" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/feeds/5584968915778370729/comments/default" title="Post Comments" /><link rel="replies" type="text/html" href="http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3211514398765165709&amp;postID=5584968915778370729&amp;isPopup=true" title="0 Comments" /><link rel="edit" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/5584968915778370729" /><link rel="self" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/5584968915778370729" /><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~3/aebcxURGJa8/6-tips-for-more-effective-to-do-lists.html" title="6 Tips for More Effective To Do Lists" /><author><name>Michele Dugar</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/03376020221099887624</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel="http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail" width="32" height="32" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SVF-v9lPloI/AAAAAAAAANg/gdxFTktFbsI/s1600-R/26ec630.jpg" /></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/" url="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/Sh13Ny-F7VI/AAAAAAAAA5I/kuCKz6D6SH4/s72-c/WritingTaskList.jpg" height="72" width="72" /><thr:total>0</thr:total><feedburner:origLink>http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/2009/05/6-tips-for-more-effective-to-do-lists.html</feedburner:origLink></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3211514398765165709.post-7681199450133701241</id><published>2009-05-20T09:00:00.001-04:00</published><updated>2010-02-03T04:27:09.869-05:00</updated><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Fashion + Beauty" /><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Finds + Gifts" /><title type="text">Blooms On Hand --flower rings</title><content type="html">&lt;p&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338340132404271234" style="float: right; margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; width: 250px; cursor: pointer; height: 250px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/ShWYERIrGII/AAAAAAAAA4Q/C6wCcIt1814/s400/CopperRing.jpg" border="0" /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;I love the idea of flower rings. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Over sized rings with a noticeable flower on top. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;There's the fun factor because flowers are whimsical. Plus, wearing one of these oversized rings reminds me of the rings I wore back in the day as a child. The oversized emerald out of the coin operated machine, the party favor that was a plastic smiley face ring, and the ring from Avon that held a pot of lip balm. Those were fun. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Flower rings are fun but they can also be chic. A flower ring can be worn as a dramatic yet elegant accessory for a business suit or formal wear. They can add a bit of drama to a simple dress or pair of jeans. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;I found many stylish and affordable flower rings at &lt;a href="http://www.etsy.com/"&gt;Etsy&lt;/a&gt; -- a site where independent artists and designers sell hand crafted items. Below I have profiled rings from four different designers. These works of art range from $14.00 to $29.00. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;The next time you would like to add a little flair, drama or fun to your wardrobe consider adding a lone flower ring. &lt;br /&gt;------------------------------------------------------------------- &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5806774" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338342561496311186" style="display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; width: 400px; cursor: pointer; margin-right: auto; height: 354px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/ShWaRqNWJZI/AAAAAAAAA4w/c8ucKGDNdgE/s400/FancifulFormFlowerRings.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt; &lt;br /&gt;1)&lt;span style="font-weight: bold"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5806774"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold"&gt;SCULPTED Flower Rings&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt; from &lt;a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5806774"&gt;FancifulForm&lt;/a&gt;. $16.00 &lt;br /&gt;All of the flowers used in these rings are hand sculpted petal by petal. Meant to delight your eyes as well as taste buds, these awe-inspiring teas unfurl when added to water, revealing delicate flowers hidden within. The practice of hand-sewing leaves into 'blooming teas' is an age-old Chinese art form that dates back centuries. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;I recommend using a clear glass cup or wine glass for this tea. The next time you are hosting a shower, a book club meeting, or gathering of friends, consider serving blooming tea as a simple and tasty way to entertain your guests. &lt;span&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 100%"&gt;Blooming tea makes a great conversation piece for any dinner party. The Red Bloom Display Tea has a robust scent and flavor. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 180%"&gt;Tip:&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span style="color: #6b714f"&gt;Because the leaves are so delicate, the best cup of green tea is brewed with water well below the boiling point. This ensures the leaves are not cooked and the subtle flavors are not lost or bitter.&lt;/span&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/ShVq2RNtLmI/AAAAAAAAA4I/u5K10ZaaaNQ/s1600-h/BloomingTeaBalls.jpg"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338290413883960930" style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 280px; cursor: pointer; height: 111px; text-align: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/ShVq2RNtLmI/AAAAAAAAA4I/u5K10ZaaaNQ/s400/BloomingTeaBalls.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt; &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3211514398765165709-3571036446022353317?l=sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~4/NlVQUOX9Fjg" height="1" width="1"/&gt;</content><link rel="replies" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/feeds/3571036446022353317/comments/default" title="Post Comments" /><link rel="replies" type="text/html" href="http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3211514398765165709&amp;postID=3571036446022353317&amp;isPopup=true" title="0 Comments" /><link rel="edit" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/3571036446022353317" /><link rel="self" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/3571036446022353317" /><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~3/NlVQUOX9Fjg/blooming-tea-tasty-conversation-piece.html" title="Blooming Tea --tasty conversation piece for your next gathering" /><author><name>Michele Dugar</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/03376020221099887624</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel="http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail" width="32" height="32" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SVF-v9lPloI/AAAAAAAAANg/gdxFTktFbsI/s1600-R/26ec630.jpg" /></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/" url="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/ShVbXxbbgLI/AAAAAAAAA3w/CH2tiNRyh64/s72-c/BloomingTeaReview.jpg" height="72" width="72" /><thr:total>0</thr:total><feedburner:origLink>http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/2009/05/blooming-tea-tasty-conversation-piece.html</feedburner:origLink></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3211514398765165709.post-2770684423061288517</id><published>2009-05-13T09:05:00.001-04:00</published><updated>2010-02-03T04:29:25.246-05:00</updated><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Decorating" /><title type="text">5 Tips To Make Your Cut Flowers Last Longer</title><content type="html">&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335312619323927938" style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; cursor: pointer; height: 344px; text-align: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SgrWj0B2LYI/AAAAAAAAA3Q/ctm67vCBXFE/s400/TipsToMakeFlowersLast.gif" border="0" /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Fresh flowers can brighten any room and are quickly becoming a feature in interior design. But drooping and dying flowers are a definite design “don’t.” &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Whether you’ve cut fresh blooms from your backyard, buy from local market or you have received a bouquet, you will want to do everything that you can to keep your flowers looking beautiful. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Use the following tips to keep your cut flowers looking fresh and full as long as possible. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold"&gt;1) Start with the freshest flowers possible&lt;/span&gt; &lt;br /&gt;If you’re buying fresh flowers to brighten your home each week, make sure you’re starting with a fresh bouquet. Buy your flowers at a farmer’s market or directly from a florist to ensure the best quality. You can make fresh flowers last longer than ones that have been sitting in cold storage for several days. If you’re cutting them yourself, make sure to prepare your vase and water before you cut so that you can instantly transport the flowers into their container. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold"&gt;2) Get the right container&lt;/span&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Your vase or container should be tall enough to cover at least three to four inches of the flower stems, with a few extra inches for additional support. You can always trim your stems to fit the size of your vase. The size of your container doesn’t matter as much as the cleanliness of your container. Make sure your vase or other container has been cleaned thoroughly, because left over bacteria can age your flowers prematurely. Rinse out all of the soapy residue so it won’t damage your flowers. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold"&gt;3) Trim the ends of your stems&lt;/span&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Fill your kitchen sink with cool water. Hold the stems underneath the level of the water and then trim them with sharp scissors. Make a diagonal cut so that all of the ends of the stems are pointed. This will increase the surface area of the flower stem that is exposed to the water, allowing the flowers to take in more water. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Prepare your vase &lt;br /&gt;Fill your vase with enough warm water so that it will cover at least three to four inches of the stems. You can use specially made plant food that will increase the life of your flowers, or you can use aspirin. To use the aspirin method, crush two uncoated aspirin and add them to water. Stir in your plant food and aspirin completely into the water before adding your flowers. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold"&gt;4) Remove leaves&lt;/span&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Submerged leaves are major contributors to the development of bacteria within a vase, which can shorten the shelf life of your flowers. Make sure you remove any leaves that will be below the level of the water to reduce bacteria. If any leaves fall into the water, remove them immediately. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold"&gt;5) Keep your vase clean&lt;/span&gt; &lt;br /&gt;You should remove your flowers and add fresh water (with plant food or aspirin) as much as once a day. It’s important to at least switch the water out every three days to keep your flowers fresh. If a layer of scum begins to develop on the vase at the water level, remove the flowers and clean out the vase with a mild soap. Make sure to rinse thoroughly before adding the flowers back in. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Source: whiteroses.info&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3211514398765165709-2770684423061288517?l=sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~4/LMPYV5qeCnY" height="1" width="1"/&gt;</content><link rel="replies" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/feeds/2770684423061288517/comments/default" title="Post Comments" /><link rel="replies" type="text/html" href="http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3211514398765165709&amp;postID=2770684423061288517&amp;isPopup=true" title="0 Comments" /><link rel="edit" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/2770684423061288517" /><link rel="self" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/2770684423061288517" /><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~3/LMPYV5qeCnY/5-tips-to-make-your-cut-flowers-last.html" title="5 Tips To Make Your Cut Flowers Last Longer" /><author><name>Michele Dugar</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/03376020221099887624</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel="http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail" width="32" height="32" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SVF-v9lPloI/AAAAAAAAANg/gdxFTktFbsI/s1600-R/26ec630.jpg" /></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/" url="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SgrWj0B2LYI/AAAAAAAAA3Q/ctm67vCBXFE/s72-c/TipsToMakeFlowersLast.gif" height="72" width="72" /><thr:total>0</thr:total><feedburner:origLink>http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/2009/05/5-tips-to-make-your-cut-flowers-last.html</feedburner:origLink></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3211514398765165709.post-595498784884297969</id><published>2009-05-13T09:00:00.002-04:00</published><updated>2010-02-03T04:30:33.081-05:00</updated><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Finds + Gifts" /><title type="text">Personalized Blossom Note Cards - Chic &amp; On Sale</title><content type="html">&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://gingersnapsbaby.com/Blossom-pr-97.html"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5335331556541497634" style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 400px; cursor: pointer; height: 231px; text-align: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SgrnyGqWgSI/AAAAAAAAA3Y/cplEa9Sxijw/s400/BlossomStationary.gif" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Personalized just for you, these &lt;a href="http://gingersnapsbaby.com/Blossom-pr-97.html"&gt;Blossom Note Cards&lt;/a&gt; from &lt;a href="http://gingersnapsbaby.com/Stationery-c-16.html"&gt;Ginger Snaps Baby&lt;/a&gt; are a fabulous way to stay in touch or express thanks. With plant and company closures, layoffs, slow economy, decrease in revenues and markets dropping, it can leave one feeling depressed, anxious, angry and most of all, fearful.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When our professional world seems to be crumbling, it often affects our personal life as well.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Thinking positively doesn't seem enough when sales are down, or you lose your job, or you can't find a job, or you don't know what the future holds financially for you. Yet the more fearful you become, the harder it is to see budding opportunities.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;So what do you do?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;1. Question and confront your fears. Learn to let them go. Transform them so they won't hold you back. Denying them and perpetuating them doesn't make them go away. Confronting and altering them will.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;2. Have faith even when times seem unbearable. It can be difficult to have faith when one is faced with life changing circumstances. This is the time when you need faith the most. These are the times that are testing your faith, your courage, your resilience, and perhaps even your very existence. Don't give up, gain faith.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;3. Trust that you and/or your family will get through these difficult times. Know that you're not alone. Reach out for support and inspiration.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;4. Know that opportunities will present themselves when you are open to receiving them. Just when you least expect it, someone or something will appear as if out of nowhere.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;5. Get involved by troubleshooting and coming up with new and creative ideas, or another game plan or tactic. Sit down with family, friends, co-workers and business associates and brain storm, get new input, and ideas.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;6. Listen to and surround yourself with people who are looking to blossom, not wither. When you surround yourself with like-minded people you are bound to come up like-minded ideas and ventures.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;7. Get views from different sources on the best plan of action. It's beneficial to receive different views because sometimes we can become stuck in tunnel vision and we need to broaden our perspectives.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;8. Review your talents and skills. Perhaps it's time to put them to better use. We never know what talents and skills are hiding and waiting to be explored.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;9. Look around at the possibilities, rather than problems. We can become fixated on the problem, instead of the possibilities that are available. Don't wait for them to come knocking on your door. Get out and take a look around; you never know what might be waiting.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;10. Believe, truly believe, that you will bloom again, not just your professional life, but your personal and spiritual one as well. In fact, by doing so, you may be blossoming all over the world.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Don't buy into the doom and gloom. There are roses waiting to bud and bloom.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;--------------------------------------------------------&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;p&gt;Kimberley Cohen is the Founder, Facilitator and Personal Insight Coach of The Insight Technique™. TEN Insights to BUD &amp;amp; BLOOM&lt;/a&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt; by Kimberley Cohen &lt;p&gt;How do we stay open to life's budding opportunities and beauty when we are experiencing economic and personal crisis? By changing our beliefs towards the experiences we are encountering.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;It can be difficult to bloom in our personal and professional lives when we are surrounded by doom and gloom.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;It is no news that economic times are tough. With plant and company closures, layoffs, slow economy, decrease in revenues and markets dropping, it can leave one feeling depressed, anxious, angry and most of all, fearful.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;When our professional world seems to be crumbling, it often affects our personal life as well. Thinking positively doesn't seem enough when sales are down, or you lose your job, or you can't find a job, or you don't know what the future holds financially for you. Yet the more fearful you become, the harder it is to see budding opportunities.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;So what do you do? &lt;a href="http://www.sweetlifemagazine.com/2009/05/tired-of-doom-and-gloom-10-insights-to.html"&gt;Click here&lt;/a&gt; for the answer. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;img title="fashion" style="border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px" height="19" alt="fashion" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/Sb-_IU8rrbI/AAAAAAAAA1o/vCw8dmXEKW8/fashion5.gif?imgmax=800" width="497" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.sweetlifemagazine.com/2009/05/jennifer-shon-jewelry-lotus-bloom.html"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332702174233162786" style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; width: 129px; cursor: pointer; height: 129px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SgGQX6Qe9CI/AAAAAAAAA3I/V3WH1zWYeO0/s400/JSflowerNecklace.jpg" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt; &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.sweetlifemagazine.com/2009/05/jennifer-shon-jewelry-lotus-bloom.html"&gt;Jennifer Shon Jewelry --Blooms To Wear&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The lotus flower represents long life, health, honor and good luck. To this Simba protests but Mufasa explains to his now fully-grown son.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Mufasa: Simba, you have forgotten me.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Simba: NO, how could I?&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Mufasa: You have forgotten who you are and so have forgotten me. Look inside yourself Simba.&amp;#160; You are more than what you have become.&amp;#160; You must take your place in the circle of life.&amp;#160; You must take your place as king.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Simba: How can I go back? I’m not who I used to be.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Mufasa: Remember who you are. You are my son and the one true king. Remember who you are. Remember, remember, remember…&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;With the renewed focus of who he is as the king’s son, Simba overcomes his fear, overcomes his guilt, overcomes his past and confidently proceeds to claim his destiny.&amp;#160; He immediately leaves to challenge his uncle (doesn’t even tell Timon and Pumbaa he’s leaving). He is on a mission, fired up to step up and claim his position as the rightful king. He boldly challenges his uncle and his uncle’s army of hyenas. In the end, Simba saves the day, saves the land, and saves his destiny.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Powerful stuff when you think about it.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Simba saved the land and started living a fabulous life all because he remembered that he was the son of the king.&amp;#160; You too are the child of a king, The King of Kings.&amp;#160; You were created by a divine all-mighty source.&amp;#160; We were not created to fail or be miserable.&amp;#160; The King desires for us to have a destiny of greatness too. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Yes, greatness is in store for us, however we also have free will and must actively claim these gifts of peace, joy and prosperity.&amp;#160; Obstacles and distractions will come to block our path or blind us but that destiny is still there. We have to claim it.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Remember from his birth, Simba was destined to be the king. However, he was not living the life of a king until he decided to claim it.&amp;#160; When he made the decision AND took action, greatness followed.&amp;#160; Otherwise, Simba would have still been eating bugs with a warthog and a meerkat.&amp;#160; It wasn’t a bad life hanging out with Timon and Pumbaa, but why settle for mediocrity when you can live out your full destiny in greatness?&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Yes, remembering you are a child of The King empowers you to seek and live a life of greatness. How?&amp;#160; Well, it gives a sense of entitlement, it gives a sense of power as well as a sense of responsibility (Do your actions give glory to The King?).&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;What really brought clarity to the truths reflected in The Lion King was The Maury Show.&amp;#160; My husband watches the morning news while we get ready for work and school.&amp;#160; However, this particular day, school was canceled because of snow (which never showed). &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Instead of turning off the TV and leaving for school, the set stayed on and I stayed home with the kids.&amp;#160; What followed the news was The Maury Show.&amp;#160; I had not seen Maury in ages was surprised that he is still doing strife filled shows centered around paternity tests.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The first few minutes of this episode revealed that Shanequa had numerous children out of wedlock, was proud that her ex-boyfriend was cheating on his current girlfriend by continuing to sleep with Shanequa, and took pleasure in calling both her ex and his current girlfriend derogatory names (to which the audience responded enthusiastically).&amp;#160; I quickly turned it off.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Programs like that are poison to our culture, go against so many biblical principles and sensationalize adultery, fornication, deceit, betrayal, selfishness, and strife. I know I’m not saying anything new with that.&amp;#160; We all know it and know that the networks have their own agendas for broadcasting that nonsense. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The question that came to mind, as I thought of Shanequa was why?&amp;#160; Why would she go on national television and carry on like that? Why would she live her life that way? Why would that behavior and lifestyle not be shameful to her?&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The answer came to me instantly— She does not know who she is.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;I recalled how Simba was told he was acting like he did not know who he was, that he had forgotten that his father was the king.&amp;#160; It became obvious to me that Shanequa did not have revelation that her divine father was The King of Kings and what that meant.&amp;#160; Intellectually we may know that we are created by God but lose sight of what that means.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;For Simba, remembering he was the son of the king prompted him to stop doing foolish things and empowered him to take responsibility, claim his destiny and do great things.&amp;#160; I believe the same can happen for Shanequa and for us all if we focus on the truth that we are children of The King.&amp;#160; We may not be on national television “acting a fool” but are we currently claiming our full destiny, power, and life gifts?&amp;#160; Do we carry ourselves as though we are royalty?&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;So if you have the movie, watch it again. Or just imagine James Earl Jones saying “Remember who you are…” and get fired up to claim you destiny.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3211514398765165709-4748777838592279730?l=sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~4/zOVWdzyk82A" height="1" width="1"/&gt;</content><link rel="replies" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/feeds/4748777838592279730/comments/default" title="Post Comments" /><link rel="replies" type="text/html" href="http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3211514398765165709&amp;postID=4748777838592279730&amp;isPopup=true" title="3 Comments" /><link rel="edit" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/4748777838592279730" /><link rel="self" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/4748777838592279730" /><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~3/zOVWdzyk82A/lion-king-holds-secret-to-living-golden.html" title="The Lion King Holds The Secret To Living A Golden Life" /><author><name>Michele Dugar</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/03376020221099887624</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel="http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail" width="32" height="32" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/SVF-v9lPloI/AAAAAAAAANg/gdxFTktFbsI/s1600-R/26ec630.jpg" /></author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/" url="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/Sb379DBBS3I/AAAAAAAAAyM/mS9Zt6s29Ms/s72-c/lionking4.gif?imgmax=800" height="72" width="72" /><thr:total>3</thr:total><feedburner:origLink>http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/2009/03/lion-king-holds-secret-to-living-golden.html</feedburner:origLink></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3211514398765165709.post-2900041702088597233</id><published>2009-03-01T09:32:00.002-05:00</published><updated>2010-02-03T04:41:23.067-05:00</updated><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Fashion + Beauty" /><category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Finds + Gifts" /><title type="text">Cobra + Gold = Fab</title><content type="html">&lt;p&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.allykatstyle.com/red-carpet-in-a-clutch-cobra-snake-p47"&gt;&lt;img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5313858530408752386" style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; width: 300px; cursor: pointer; height: 257px; text-align: center;" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/Sb6eLeuxZQI/AAAAAAAAAyw/91V_yQkfXmI/s400/CobraClutch" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;This month's product spotlight falls on the "Red Carpet in a Clutch" handbag from Ally Kat Style. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;THE BAG&lt;/span&gt; &lt;br /&gt;The creators of &lt;a href="http://www.allykatstyle.com/red-carpet-in-a-clutch-cobra-snake-p47"&gt;Red Carpet in a Clutch&lt;/a&gt;, declare that you can "&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:100%;"&gt;Work it like you are on the Carpet-- Even if you are only at brunch". Not only is it vibrant, but it is so versatile. Green eye shadow looks great on light vanilla complexions, dark chocolate and all the skin tones in between. Rock it for a fun flirty look or use it for seductive smoky eyes. Although it may not work with every outfit, green eye shadow can be worn by basically everyone. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Below are my favorite green eye shadow picks from L'Oreal and MAC. Both brands offer long lasting eye shadows made with high intensity pigments (so the color you see is the color you get). The highly-pigmented powders apply evenly and blend well. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;If you like what you see but are unsure about application, don't worry. I've included an instructional video for both the L'Oreal and the MAC shadows. No Problem. Four Easy To Grow House Plants</title><content type="html">&lt;p&gt;Do you have a natural knack for getting plants to thrive and grow? Or, do you have a tendency to cause plants to die? Regardless of which category you fall in, the secret to maintaining healthy houseplants in your home is to get plants that are relatively easy to care for.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;My parents and my grandparents have green thumbs but I seem to lack the talent (or is it discipline?) to maintain plants as well as they can. As for my dad, his talents lead him to start a business as an “interior landscaper” maintaining plants for NYC restaurants and office buildings. His idea of retirement is moving to a farm. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;My mother’s lush collection of beautiful house plants includes plants as old as me. My mother’s mother can literally spit out seeds from store bought fruit and have them grow into new a peach tree in her yard or grape vine thriving on her fence. I am so fascinated by her ability to do that! &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;I appreciate my family’s natural ability to get plants to thrive in part because I lack that trait. I have learned that if I want to enjoy the benefits of healthy, beautiful houseplants, I need to have plants that are hearty and nearly self sufficient. These four plants fit that description.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Plants help to purify the air and make an interior space seem more inviting. That is if, the plant is looks healthy. Your odds of maintaining a healthy houseplant is increased it you have one the varieties shown below. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Even if prefer brighter surroundings, these plants can tolerate low light. Plus, these long-lived houseplants require infrequent watering. So, &lt;strike&gt;forgetting to water the plants&lt;/strike&gt; leaving these plants alone for a while is not neglect, but a good thing. &lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;img title="" style="border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right-width: 0px" height="348" alt="" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/Sb-gZS6XXVI/AAAAAAAAA0I/vYa_F6nSgXM/cast%5B13%5D.gif?imgmax=800" width="300" align="left" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;1) Aspidistra (Cast Iron Plant) &lt;/strong&gt; &lt;br /&gt;This durable plant earned its nick name because it can grow in tough conditions, even in deep shade. It’s pointy sword-like leaves grow about 4&amp;quot; wide &amp;amp; 2' long and clump together. Aspidistra prefers low lights and likes drier conditions. It equires water less frequently, about every 8-10 days. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;img title="snake" style="border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right-width: 0px" height="350" alt="snake" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/Sb-gZ6mAhHI/AAAAAAAAA0Y/QvdmRvachvI/snake%5B24%5D.gif?imgmax=800" width="249" align="left" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;2&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;)&amp;#160; &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;S&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;ans&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;evieria (Mother-in-Law Tongue or Snake Plant)&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;#160; &lt;br /&gt;The Snake Plant or Mother-in-Law's Tongue gets its name because of its long, sharp, pointed leaves and because it never leaves. This plant is very tolerant of low light. Depending on the humidity, only 1 or 2 waterings are necessary indoors during the winter.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/Sb37l66QyjI/AAAAAAAAAyE/jdRkYn9hufM/s1600-h/dragon%5B4%5D.gif"&gt;&lt;img title="dragon" style="border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right-width: 0px" height="441" alt="dragon" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/Sb37nT_xEWI/AAAAAAAAAyI/_YwDxjVFfHo/dragon_thumb%5B2%5D.gif?imgmax=800" width="299" align="left" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;3&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;) Dracaena Marginata &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;(Dragon Tree)&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;br /&gt;There are many varieties of Dracaena and this one resembles a small palm tree that can reach 10 feet tall. It grows best in bright light but will tolerate low light. This plant likes drier conditions with less frequent watering. It actually likes to dry out a little between waterings.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/Sb-gaVagynI/AAAAAAAAA0Q/-AvVmUhWCGg/s1600-h/ppo%5B5%5D.gif"&gt;&lt;img title="ppo" style="border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; border-right-width: 0px" height="281" alt="ppo" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_pxuKftKphBQ/Sb-gbB1RSXI/AAAAAAAAA0U/HiVQf5HCu-E/ppo_thumb%5B3%5D.gif?imgmax=800" width="288" align="left" border="0" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;4) &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Epipremnum (Pothos)&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;br /&gt;The Pothos is almost impossible to kill. It too like to dry out a little between waterings. This plane is very tolerant of all types of light conditions, even artificial office lights. You can let them trail down (10+ feet) or secure them to a support or trellis. There are many varieties of Pothos available. &lt;/p&gt; &lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3211514398765165709-1460826936255716497?l=sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~4/3GHa6D5TXnk" height="1" width="1"/&gt;</content><link rel="replies" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://sweetlifemagazine.blogspot.com/feeds/1460826936255716497/comments/default" title="Post Comments" /><link rel="replies" type="text/html" href="http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3211514398765165709&amp;postID=1460826936255716497&amp;isPopup=true" title="2 Comments" /><link rel="edit" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/1460826936255716497" /><link rel="self" type="application/atom+xml" href="http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3211514398765165709/posts/default/1460826936255716497" /><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheSweetLifeMagazine/~3/3GHa6D5TXnk/no-green-thumb-no-problem-four-easy-to.html" title="No Green Thumb?
