5. Unplug everything. Things like cellphone chargers and microwaves suck energy, and emit heat, even when they are not in use. The ’standby power’ for these gadgets and appliances, not in use, is around 5%-10% of residential electricity use. So just unplug them, or plug them into a power-strip that you can turn off and you will save money.

6. Use Fans. By using fans, you can make a room cooler. Make sure to unplug it though when you leave. Fans only make humans cooler, not rooms.
