Born: October 15, 1981 in Hebei, China

Made her debut Chinese national team in 1992, Guo first competed at the Olympics in 1996. However, only in 2004 Olympics in Athens that she managed to won her first gold medal. She has managed to win 4 gold medals (2 in Athens, 2 in Beijing 2008), and 2 silver medals (both in Sydney 2000), which makes her collect more Olympic medals than any other female diver. 2. Jeanette Lee (Pool/Korea)

Born: July 9, 1971 in New York, US.

Well, it's true that Jeanette Lee was born in US and has an American citizenship, but she was born to an immigrant Korean family in Brooklyn, New York (her birth name is LEE Jin-Hee). She was nicknamed "The Black Widow" by her friends because of how she would "eat people alive" when she got to a pool table. Later, she loves to wear black outfit when competing in pool matches.

She went on to rank as the No. 1 female pool player in the world during the 1990s, and received the Women's Professional Billiard Association (WPBA) Sportsperson of the Year Award in 1998. Her most notable achievement is the gold medal for the United States at the 2001 World Games in Akita, Japan.

3. Kim Yu Na (Figure Skating/Korea)

Born: September 5, 1990 in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.

Kim Yu Na is the 2010 Olympic champion in Ladies' Singles, the 2009 World champion, the 2009 Four Continents champion, a three-time (2006–2007, 2007–2008, 2009–2010) Grand Prix Final champion, the 2006 World Junior champion, the 2005–2006 Junior Grand Prix Final champion, and a four-time (2002–2005) South Korean national champion.

Beautiful and has a lot of achievements, Kim Yu Na has become more than an athlete. She is one of the most highly recognized media figures in South Korea, and has starred a lot of commercials, hosted her own TV show, and worked in several singing projects. And she's only 21-year-old!

4. Sania Mirza (Tennis/India)

Born: November 15, 1986 in Mumbai, India

So far, Sania Mirza has only won one WTA singles title at Hyderabad in 2005, and one Grand Slam title, the mixed doubles at the 2009 Australian Open. With this accomplishment, it's probably too much to say that she's a sport legend. However, since she is the first ever Indian to break into the top 30 WTA rankings in singles and top 10 in doubles, at least we can call her as one of the Indian sport legends.

5. Xie Xingfang (Badminton/China)

Born: January 8, 1981 in Guangdong, China

Badminton is probably not a popular sport in America or Europe. But in most Asian countries, its popularity might be only goes under football and basketball. As China is the leader in almost any sports in Asia, it's no wonder that some of the world's best badminton players come from China, including Xie Xingfang.

Xie Xingfang's major titles are including 2 World Championship gold medals (2005, 2006), 3 All England gold medals (2006-2008), 1 World Cup gold medal (2005), and 3 Uber Cup gold medals (2004, 2006, 2008) with Chinese women national team. It's too bad that she hasn't able to complete her achievements with Olympic gold medal, as her best result is only silver medal in 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Nadeshiko - Japanese Women's Football Team

While football is a very popular sport in Asia, there's yet an Asian team who managed to win major football competition, whether it's FIFA World Cup, Olympic, or FIFA Club World Cup. Not anymore though, because Japanese women's national team, or the Nadeshiko, has managed to won the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup by defeating USA in the final.

In the road to final, Japan who never passed the group stage in the last three championships, beat the two-time reigning world champion Germany (2004 & 2007) in quarterfinals, and the 2003 finalist Sweden in semifinals. In final, Japan defeated two-times World Cup's winner USA (1991 & 1999) through penalty-shootout.

It was a very dramatic victory, as the Japanese women were trailing by a goal behind twice. Alex Morgan scored for the American at 69', which leveled by Aya Miyama at 81'. During the extra-time, USA lead again by Abby Wambach goal at 104'. Only three minutes before the final whistle, Homare Sawa, the tournament leading scorer and best player, scored an equalizing goal which led to penalty-shootout, which won by Japan by 3-1.

The Japanese people are still in sorrow, after the great earthquake and tsunami in Tohoku in March 2011. The disaster costs more than 15,000 lives, with more than 5,000 are still missing. This probably gives extra spirit for the Nadeshiko to give a reason for their country to smile again.

So, Dallas Mavericks has beaten Miami Heat in 2011 NBA Finals by 4-2. This is the first NBA championship title for the club, for the controversial owner Mark Cuban, and for most of their players, including Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, Peja Stojakovic, and Jason Kidd. It is more like a confusing controversy for me, when some people have a problem with this early February cover of Sports Illustrated. At that first week of the month, Sports Illustrated had Lindsey Vonn, the greatest alpine American skier, posed for its cover with a complete skier's clothes.

When I read the title of the article , I looked the controversy posed directly and really couldn't find the picture even it was in front of me, it was not because I didn't see it but I really didn't think that picture is the controversy cover one. I agree that Lindsay wore a little tight one, but it seemed ridiculous if some people considered the cover as a sexually provocative pose whether for the children or the adult. Difficult Years with Scoliosis

Jeanette Lee's rose to success was not easily gained. In the age of 13, she was diagnosed with scoliosis, a disorder in which there is a curve, often S-shaped or C-shaped, of the spine or backbone. She underwent scoliosis surgery, where metal rods and other instrumentation were attached to her spine in order to hold her vertebrae together during the months after her surgery while the bones in her spine eventually fused together. During college years, it was the time of her billiard immersion, Jeanette Lee suffered immensely from pain caused by the steel rods implanted in her back. According to one account, she played pool consecutively for thirty-seven hours, to the point of unbearable pain, physical exhaustion, and literally had to be lifted and carried back home by her friends.

Only three years after picking up the sport at age18, she turned into a pro in 1993. Sunday, 3 October 2010, Sebastien Loeb won his home event, the Rallye de France. By winning this race, Sebastien Loeb also secured his 2010 World Rally Championship title, which is his 7th consecutive titles (2004-2010)! This 36-year-old French won all his titles riding Citroen with co-driver Daniel Elena.

Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena made their debut in WRC in 2002. They finished 2nd in 2003 Championship, only one point behind from the champion, Petter Solberg. After took his first drivers' title in 2004, Sebastien Loeb and his Citroen are unstoppable. He also won the total of 60 races, the most in WRC history. Even the WRC legend Tommi Makinen, who dominated the series in the 90's, only managed to won 24 rallies.

Although his 7th titles in WRC only matched another racing legend achievement, Michael Schumacher of F1, but Sebastien Loeb can be considered greater, because Schumi not won all his titles in consecutive years.

Kenny Roberts - Motorcycle Grand Prix Legend

The highest class in Grand Prix motorcycle racing used to called as 500cc class, but since 2002 it was changed as "MotoGP". This classic competition has produced some of the most memorable sport legends ever, such as Kenny Roberts, Eddie Lawson, and Wayney Rainey.
