Needless to say, I was pretty darned excited when these arrived (and my curiosity had the better of me too!), but I did manage to control myself and snap a few pictures before I devoured them all. The box they arrived in (shown above) was beautiful – I immediately thought how nice these would be for a gift. When I opened the box, I found these beauties:

Neatly tucked in the box were several packets of Euforia thousand-layer cake. These included Spice, Vanilla and flourless. The anticipation was killing me, so I waited no longer. I carefully unwrapped a slice of the Spice cake and bit into what I can only describe as “wow”. It was very delicate and light, with just the right amount of sweetness. The spice flavor came through perfectly – not heavy or overpowering. I literally could have eaten about 10 pieces. Since I had other flavors to try, I stopped at three. I mean, I’m sure you understand – I had to have one of each type right?

The Vanilla thousand-layer cake was equally pleasing. Vanilla is my favorite flavor in general, so I had a feeling this would be my favorite. I honestly cannot pick a favorite – they are all incredibly tasty.

I took a close-up shot so you can see the detail and layers:

I can’t help but think of how much work must go into each and every thousand-layer cake. It makes me tired just imagining it! The good news is I don’t have to worry about that, as Euforia will do all of the hard work for me. I just need to order.

With the holidays right around the corner, now is a great time to start compiling your list for gifts. I can pretty much guarantee that nobody else will be giving a gift as unique (and tasty) as yours! Euforia has plenty of delicacies to cover everyone on your list. I’ll take one of each please!

Gluten-free Euforia thousand layer cakes can also be purchased!

Euforia thousand-layer cakes can be purchased directly from their website, and they are also available at Amazon.com, Foodzie and several other online retailers (even Etsy!). Make sure you follow Euforia on Facebook and Twitter to keep up on the latest offerings, info, discounts, etc.

Although this was a fairly easy recipe, there are a couple of things I would do differently. For the Dulce de Leche, they give microwave directions. This was really time-consuming to keep checking on it and I don’t know that it got the right consistency. Next time I would definitely make this on the stove top. I also put too much brownie batter on the first layer of the pan, so covering up the Dulce de Leche for the top layer was a bit tricky.

Overall rating? FABULOUS!

With Roaste, you are able to buy coffee online without the hassle of driving to a specialty store, then spending hours searching for your favorite coffee blends. The coffee brands at Roaste are typically available in whole beans, ground, regular and decaf. Many are also available in pods. One coffee brand that I found intriguing (and available at Roaste) is Essse coffee. Essse coffee has been serviced in 5 star restaurants for years, but now it is available for home delivery. I might have to try Essse coffee, as it really does sound heavenly.

Make sure you check out Roaste for other coffee items, such as coffee makers, espresso machines and coffee accessories. They are having a deal right now where if you buy a coffee machine, you get $50 worth of coffee for free! It’s a great time to finally make that coffee maker purchase.

I found the Roaste website very easy to navigate – the coffees are broken down into sections, and it is easy to find just what you are looking for. For instance, clicking on coffee will let you choose by certification, roast, geographical region, price, etc. Of course while looking around I found several coffees I wouldn’t mind trying

Roaste also includes a coffee community where fans of coffee can communicate and share their knowledge and experience. It features coffee news, recipes and other relevant articles. I think this sounds like a pretty fun place to congregate, over a cup of coffee of course!

If you’ll pardon me now, I must go refill my mug. Cheers!

Smart, right? I will be attending BlogHer ’11 in San Diego in a couple of months, and now that there is a new Restaurant.com discount dining guide for San Diego, I am all set. These gift cards never expire either…one more reason to stock up!

Restaurant.com is a place to find new restaurants, get dining tips and fun, plus save at least 60% on dining out at restaurants every day in your local area!

With Father’s Day quickly approaching, these would be a fabulous gift idea. Plus, maybe he will take you out to dinner. Just a little hint there

Restaurant.com serves as the community matchmaker, introducing great restaurants to great people. From appetizers to dessert, from wine to dinner, Restaurant.com helps restaurant owners promote the new and unique aspects of their restaurants while providing diners with great value in a fun, new and cost effective way. Your favorite restaurant is in your neighborhood – maybe you just don’t know it yet. Restaurant.com is here to help.

I haven’t had the pleasure of trying Restaurant.com yet, but will be shortly! If you are unsure how it works, here is a brief description:

Just use our search to find a restaurant. Many of our participating restaurants have different offers, so pick the place that suits you best. We provide handy descriptions and even menus to help you decide. Follow the instructions for purchasing a gift certificate and print it out. In minutes you’re all set for a night out for less!

At Restaurant.com, there are several pricing options. You pay only $10 for $25 gift cards, $20 for $50 gift cards, etc. I think that is pretty neat, and a huge savings – especially if you dine out a lot like we do. There are a few conditions on the deals, for instance, there may be a minimum amount you need to spend at the restaurant, but it is usually very reasonable (and it’s what you would probably spend anyway). To see what restaurants are in your area that you can use Restaurant.com gift cards at, simply type in your zip code on their restaurant locator. There are several to choose from in each area.

The Restaurant.com site is easy to navigate, and in addition to searching by your zip code or area, you can break it down further by choosing which type of food you are looking for (or craving) you can search by cuisine type, price, atmosphere, etc.
