CHAIRLIFT TO HEADLINE MUSIC LINEUP AT TROPFEST 2013

Tropfest, the world’s largest short film festival, has just announced the musical acts for its 2013 New York event and they include some of the most exciting names to emerge out of the current indie music scene. Popular indie duo Chairlift will headline the event, with Neon Indian (DJ Set), Bear In Heaven, Ghost Beach and People Get Ready also taking the stage at Prospect Park on June 22nd.

Best of all, you can see all of these amazing acts for FREE!

Brooklyn-based Chairlift shot to mainstream fame with their catchy track “Bruises”, which was included in one of Apple's renowned commercials. Neon Indian’s Alan Palomo will play a DJ set with tracks from the band’s latest EP, ERRATA ANEX, and rock band Bear in Heaven will play a set featuring their psychedelic and electronically influenced music.

Also making their Tropfest debut is the retro pop, synth duo Josh Ocean and Eric “Doc” Mendelsohn of Ghost Beach. The twosome recently made headlines when they sparked a debate about music piracy by using a 15,000-square foot Times Square digital billboard. Combining a unique mix of dance, movement, music, and performance, the electronic pop group People Get Ready will round out the lineup.

With such a stellar line-up of musical talent, Tropfest New York is shaping up to be a day/night to remember! The event kicks off at 3pm and goes through late Saturday night. At 8pm, the Tropfest NY short film competition will commence, hosted by Liev Schreiber.

The event is open to 15-20 everyday chefs who have got the tapas to compete for the title of The Bestest, as voted for by judges and attendees. From dips and spreads to crostini and mini-sandwiches to sushi rolls, mock chicken wings, and beef-less BBQ and beyond...

To help crown the lip-smacking savoriest of them all — and to award prizes, including $250 cash for first place — our judges:

Typically held monthly in Chicago, at The Hideout, The Interview Show features 15- to 20-minute interviews between host Mark Bazer and his guests, with comedy and music performances in between.
