Hello,

It's wet and COLD here in Pittsburgh today. I've been tinkering in my craft room for most of the day! I'm heading out shortly to go to a new knitting class. This time, it's a Christmas Stocking! I can't wait to finish it (sad, considering I haven't even started it yet.)

Share two quick projects with you. The first is the Top Note Ornament that we made at my friend Shelley's workshop she has last weekend. We also made a matching Gift Tag, but I forgot to take a picture of that one. I'll save that for tomorrow!

Don't you HATE when you get an ornament frame for your tree and it's sooo stinkin' heavy that it falls off your tree the second the tree stops taking it's swigs of water! Well, not this ornament. This is sooo light that it will stay in the same place the whole Holiday Season! I told the women in the workshop they could even use this as a neat way to share your Holiday pictures with your family and friends, simply turn it into a gift tag! Or, you could simply place this on a a plain sheet of cardstock, and VIOLA, there is your newest Christmas card!

Good Morning Everybody!

It's a chilly, gray day here in Pittsburgh! Who says that Santa's Elves only live at the North Pole? I have been as busy as an elf that's for sure. I'm trying to get all my homemade Christmas gifts finished up before the Holidays are here!

I can't share who this is going to, but I wanted to at least share my finished scarf. I started to knit about 7 months ago and wow, I love it! I knew I would enjoy it, but never realized that I'd love it as much as I do! This was my first attempt at a cable knit, and wow isn't it GORGEOUS?

It's made form 100% Alpaca, so whoever the lucky person is to get this under their tree, will be warm this winter for sure!

Later today I'm going to be making a gift bag and matching card to go with it, so stay tuned to see what I come up with.

Another Homemade Gift

Yup, this is my 2nd post for the day!

This year we had a ton of grapes on our grape vines. So we all pulled together and got to work! how awesome is my hubby? While I was at a knitting class, he was home picking all the grapes! Ahh, what a Sweetie!

Since the grapes were picked and ready, Alex, Cameron and I got busy finishing up the rest of the process. They're each giving a jar to their teachers as part of their Christmas gift this year. Not sure if you read my post below, but this year it's all about homemade gifts!

A few projects to share!

Hello!

I'm excited to share some fun projects with you.

Are you getting ready for the Holidays yet? This year I've decided to give ALL homemade gifts. That's right, everybody will receive something from us that's been homemade!! I think it's really important for our little ones to realize the most important gift you can give is something that is truly created from the heart.

Below is a project that I'll be giving to the Teachers for Halloween this year. I designed the box all by myself (unless it's out there on the blogosphere and I didn't know it. Ugh, that often happens, I think I had this grand idea, then while I'm surfing the net..POOF there is one just like it). Oh well, us crafters probably all think alike!!

The jars are just old spice jars that I had on hand. I was cleaning out my cabinet and noticed that some of my spices were quite old. SO, I of course pitched the spices but kept the containers. I think I ended up with about a dozen jars!!! Ahhhh Recycle Heaven! We used to live in Milwaukee and there was the COOLEST Spice store there called, "The Spice House". I love that there jars are just plain and round!!

Below is a picture of what each of the jars look like. Aren't these jars PERFECT!

Here is a picture of the of the card's inside. I made the card as part of the box!

Mojo Monday Sketch

Yes, two posts in one day...wow! I've tried at least 2 dozen times to get these posted. For some reason, my internet continues to shut down. Hopefully, I'll get this one posted much quicker.

I wanted to share my two versions of the Mojo Monday Sketch. I love the card, but wasn't sure if I liked the Pumpkin Pie ribbon, so I tried another ribbon that I had on hand. You tell me, which do you like better?

After seeing both, I must say that I still like the Pumpkin Pie ribbon the best.

Hello and Happy Rainy Tuesday!

I can't complain about the rainy day today, that's for sure. We've had amazing weather for the past past few weeks, so a rainy day is fine by me. It feels good to be inside getting caught up on emails, blog posts and I guess a little bit of cleaning (yuk).

Now on to my title...Goin' Green!

How many of you find that you look at your trash (of course before you throw it away) from a different perspective? I DO! I often find myself hording empty boxs, candle jars, and now packaging containers. Eeks. I'm going to need an extra room just to hold my "recycled garbage". I'm calling myself a Green Crafter these days. With everybody pinching a few pennies here and there, it makes perfect sense to me to grab those empty cereal boxes and put them to great use. Or clean out the empty candle jar, use a rub on and some ribbon and VIOLA..a perfect gift container, and yes, I even used an empty mascara container!

I have a new club that just started this past week. I gave them a challenge to bring any 1 item that they've made using something recycled.

Here are some of my own samples of things I've made using recycled items!

and finished up with this. Isn't it too cute.

The cardboard cereal boxes is the perfect weight for a cute frame. I'm going to make these into Christmas ornaments. I will put the year, and boys names on the bottom, and just pop in their school picture. I used the Stampin' UP! Top Note Die. This is by far my most used die EVER. If you're interested in purchasing the die click HERE. Just a note: This die can be used in the Cuttlebut, Sizzix or Big Shot Die Cutting Machines!

I also bought new mascara and couldn't stand to throw away the package. So, I grabbed some paper, a button, and of course my handy m&m's.

Finally, I made this cute little treat holder from an empty brad container.

Isn't it amazing how quick we are to throw away things that might make the cute little treat container, or picture frame.

The sky is the limit, so be sure to take a second look at what you pitch, it may just be the perfect altered project.

Never too early for Christmas!

Hello everybody,

It's Tuesday, and the kids are back in school. Yesterday, David and I took the boys to school and then enjoyed a nice breakfast out by ourselves. It was the perfect way to start off the new school year. Here are some pictures of my little ones on Day One!!!

Of course I told them to put on their "serious school face", this is what I got! I pray for their teachers!!

Well, those are my little angels! I can't believe how quickly they're growing! I LOVE YOU BOYS...YOU'LL ROCK THIS SCHOOL YEAR!

I also wanted to share the card I made for the Mojo Monday Sketch. I've never participated in a sketch challenge before, so here's to my first try. I posted two different looks, which do you like better?

Hello.

I hope you're all having a nice weekend. We're having a nice, relaxing Sunday. We got up this morning and David and I made blueberry pancakes for the boys. We really enjoy having a nice family breakfast on Sundays, and the kids LOVE their blueberry pancakes. After breakfast was cleaned up, we took the boys to the track and and played catch.

Alex has a birthday party to go to tonight for his friend Ethan. I wanted to share the card that I made this morning. Yes, I used the Stampin' UP! "All in the Family" set again. I think this is by far one of the GREATEST sets that Stampin' UP! sells. I LOVE it (just in case you haven't noticed). I used some old, retired SU Designer Series Paper, Old Olive ribbon, and Bashful Blue Cardstock.

Do you like? Sorry, the lighting isn't great, it's a very cloudy day here in Pittsburgh. I just couldn't get the lighting right. UGH. It's so fun and bright in person, wish you all were here to see it!

Just a quick share!

Good Morning,

I snuck into my craft room this morning and played with my new Stampin' UP! Final Press Textured Impressions Die. I used the ink dauber and colored the folder black and then ran it through my Cuttlebug with pumpkin pie cardstock, then I cleaned the folder and inked the folder with white craft ink, and ran it through again with black paper. I finished it off using my favorite hostess set Holiday Wishes, and of course a touch of glitter.

Do you like?

Ok, quick question. I have been reading online how to take better pictures of my projects so their colors are more crisp and true to their actual shades. I did this "homemade light box" and I think it helped. Do you like the way this looks better. I think the white background really shows off the work much better.
