Under Skipper’s guidance, tight end Zach Miller led the Raiders in receptions (56) and receiving yards (778) in 2008. Those totals placed Miller eighth in the NFL among tight ends. Skipper, 40, has 19 years of coaching experience and has served as an offensive coordinator at the NCAA Division I level.<br /> John Fassel has been promoted to special teams coordinator after serving as Brian Schneider’s assistant in 2008. The Raiders leader in sacks with five, Edwards opened the season as a nickel rusher, became a starter when Derrick Burgess went down with a torn triceps and fared well enough to start on the right side when Burgess returned.
