Boy, this week went by fast! I guess that's what happens when you find yourself busier than ever! Today I thought it would be fun to put together some color palettes inspired by wedding centerpieces! As you might recall, last week I showed you how to use wedding bouquets as inspiration for your color palette and today's post is very similar in that we're looking to florals for color inspiration. In turn, if you've already decided upon a palette, these ideas can also show you ways to incorporate color into your wedding day florals.

Personally, I always see the value in seeing real life examples of how color is used to bring weddings to life. I suppose that is because I'm an extremely visual person. I'm not sure how you feel about this color, but for me it's always been one of those colors that has all kinds of feel good, calming vibes. It's a relaxed color that has a very romantic feel to it. I think lavender is definitely one of those colors that we should see more of in the coming year. Because what's not to love? This color is truly perfect. I love how you can easily incorporate a vintage theme without feeling like you have to over do it. Lace and lavender were born to go hand in hand if you ask me. So what do you think? When it comes to defining your wedding day style, I know that some of you are struggling. ''Where should I start,'' you ask? "What colors should I use,'' you say? Well, I'm here to tell you that I know it can feel overwhelming. But lucky for you, you're not alone! I'm here to help and I'm here to break it down for you so to speak. One of my favorite ways to find new and exciting color palettes is to look to nature. Florals, to be more specific! Bouquets are truly little pieces of art, wouldn't you agree? So why not look to bouquets for some wedding day inspiration?

As you can see, there are a lot of different options out there. Sometimes all it takes is finding that one picture that speaks to you, that inspires you...

I for one am totally into pastels here lately. Especially ones that have an almost beachy feel to them. Looking to throw a beach wedding, but tired of the old turquoise and white color palettes you keep seeing? Why not use something like this?

Or this for that matter? You wouldn't think that gray and shades of pink could be used in a beachy locale, but then you see a bouquet like this and I don't know about you, but this instantly inspires me to see the possibilities...

Looking to put together an elegant affair for Fall? Tired of burnt orange and brown? Why not use a palette of rich purples, greens and grays?

And this lovely palette! Why not use something unexpected like this dreamy shade of teal with fuchsia, shades of pink and antique gold? I can see this palette looking perfect for late Summer or even Fall.

Black and white will always be a classic color palette for weddings. Add in a touch of soft gray and what do you have? A palette worth swooning over, if you ask me! I don't care how many years go by or how many color trends we see come and go, black and white is here to stay. And rightfully so! Because what's not to love about this sophisticated color palette? I think what I love most about this color palette are all of the fun things you can do with it. What about this color palette do you love? I know some of you color lovers will look at this palette and feel as if something is missing - like a splash of color maybe? But I really do think that there is something to be said about a classic palette like this one. It's a sort of beauty that truly is unmatched.

Yep, you read that correctly... TWINS! I seriously cannot tell you how suprised we were to learn that I was carrying two sweet babies! Needless to say, we feel doubly blessed! I'll be considered full term by middle of July. For those of you who don't know, we have a 17 month old little boy so by the time the twins arrive, we will officially have three children under 2! Needless to say, I'm going to be one busy mommy! Thanks to everyone for the sweet well wishes! We're blown away by the love and excitement that so many of you seem to have for us. We're so looking forward to being a family of five!

I don't know about you, but I cannot be more ready for Spring. Maybe it's because I'm cold natured? Or maybe it's just because I'm looking forward to changing over to my spring time clothing...Whatever the case may be, I think it's safe to say that I have a subtle case of Spring Fever. And so when I think about colors and Springtime I'm finding myself moving away from the dark and moody hues to more of a lighter palette. Isn't it funny how the seasons sort of dictate color?

{Pantone's Color of the Year}: Tangerine Tango!

Have you heard the news? Pantone recently announced that Tangerine Tango is their color of the year for 2012! A lot of you have asked me what I think of Pantone's choice? Do I like it? Would I have chosen a different color? What are my thoughts on this, you ask?

Well, here are my thoughts. While I have to admit that I feel it was a bold choice, there's clearly nothing wrong with bold. I happen to love vibrant, lively color. It's a color with beautiful red and peach undertones! One that is simply bursting with fun !

I think it's a color that puts most people out of their comfort zones. However, again I don't think that's a bad thing. Adding a pop of bright color is a great way to express yourself. Especially in weddings. And so today I thought I'd put together a pretty palette using the newest color of the year. As you might have noticed, this palette actually incorporates varying shades of orange as well as touch of Tangerine Tango mostly seen in the bridesmaid dresses and florals.

So what do you think of Pantone's Color of the Year? I suppose the answer to that question lies in whether you are a fan of the color orange and all of it's variations. Being an orange bride myself, I can't help but love this. I like this color because I feel like there's a lot of ways you can use it. Why not spice things up your wedding a bit by adding in a dash of this unexpected and punchy hue? Want to know which color I would name as this year's color of the year? 2012, Resolutions and Reflections

Well, hello there color lovers! And Happy New Year! I can't tell you how excited I am to officially kick of the year here on the Perfect Palette! With the new year comes shiny new goals. You know, the kind that you're just so excited to work towards. For me, setting goals is a way to really evaluate my business, my personal direction and whether what I'm doing is working. Have you set any goals for this year?

I also have to point out that I think for those who own their own business it's only natural that your personal goals overlap your business goals. I know mine sure do. I've kept my goals simple this year.

One of the things I want to do is I want to continue working with each of you one one one to fulfill your palette requests. Sounds simple... but that's what this is all about for me! It's about helping you, inspiring you and making this a spot that you love to visit!

Secondly, I want to continue surrounding myself with industry professionals who lift me up. And in turn I want to continue doing my part to support my fellow blogging friend's efforts. I can't tell how great it feels to be a part of a community that is comprised of so many sweet wedding professionals. I feel absolutely blessed by the support and friendship I've gained over the past couple of years.

Thirdly, I want to continue to inspire you - but I'd like to do so in ways I haven't before. Mix things up a bit... push the envelope so to speak! Ultimately, I want to take this blog to new heights! How will I do it you ask? Well, time will only tell... but let's just say that this girl has a few exciting things up my sleeves that I'm so excited to share with you in the coming weeks.

And lastly... I don't want to work harder this year, I want to work smarter. Meaning, I'd like to streamline my work day so that I can achieve a better work - life balance. On a serious note though, I just have to say that the Perfect Palette has blossomed and grown to be a place that I can honestly say that I'm absolutely proud of. I can't begin to tell you how flattered and humbled I am just knowing that you visit me each day to get your daily dose of color.

My life is way more enriched having this little creative outlet to share my ideas. Life before the Perfect Palette wasn't nearly as colorful and for that, I thank you. I thank you for reading, I thank you for coming along with me on this colorful journey, and I thank you for your continued support and love! Happy New Year, everyone! Let's make this a year that we'll never forget!

Unfortunately, this is where I say farewell! I'm taking a bit of a break for the holidays, but don't you fret.. Well, hello there color lovers... and Happy Monday! Today I'm going to keep things short and sweet because, I like many of you have quite the list of 'to-dos' before Christmas next week! Oh, and by the way... can you even believe it's already Christmas next week? Where has this year gone? In any case... I thought what better way to kick of this week than to share with you some of my favorite nature inspired holiday color palettes.

Personally, I love how these images have such a natural feel to them. They use small pops of color to highlight rather than large amounts of color. When color is used like this, you can really appreciate the color for all that it is.

Are you more drawn to shades of blue or reds and browns? I can personally see the appeal of both palettes. But I'll always be a red girl at heart, especially when it comes to the holidays!

{These Are a Few of My Favorite Things}: Holiday Favorites!

When it comes to the holidays, I think it's safe to say that most people have their little list of things they look forward to most during the season. And believe me, I'm no exception. I have quite a few favorite holiday things. So I thought... why not share them with you? So here you have it... my short list of the things I love most during Christmas time. First up on my list are holly berries...

Because what's not love about a beautiful wreath with little pops of color throughout? Holly berries are definitely one of my favorite ways to use nature in my decor.

Next on my list would definitely be ornaments! Because whether it's a handmade ornament or one that's been passed on through generations, each ornament truly does have a story behind it and I love that!

What's the next on my list, you ask? That would definitely have to be all kinds of winter fun. From sipping hot cocoa to snow sledding, there is never a shortage of fun stuff to get into during this time of year.

And since I'm such a foodie, I cannot go without mentioning holiday baking! Christmas cookies are so fun to make, plus not to mention tasty! A tradition in my family is to make batches of different kinds!

A landscape blanketed in snow is definitely on my lists of favorites. Because what is Winter time without a little snowfall? Okay, maybe that's silly to say! But you can't deny that snowflakes make Christmas feel a little more special.

Up next on my list would definitely be pretty holiday drinks! Because what better time to get creative than this? I love these festive little stirrers! The perfect thing to serve up at a holiday party.

Speaking of holiday parties... one of things I love most about them is the fact that they give you an excuse to go shopping! Because getting something new to wear is always fun! Am I right? Plus, it's definitely fun to play hostess during this time of year.

Happy Monday, friends. And how was your weekend? Are you finding yourself a lot busier here lately what with the holidays around the corner? It can get hectic, am I right? That's why at the end of a busy day I relish in the fact that I can come home, start a fire in our fireplace and cuddle up on the couch with my little family. I suppose that's the thing I look forward to most during the holidays. That warm and cozy feeling you get - due in part to beautiful decor, family gatherings and of course homemade everything.

Personally, I think the idea of getting married close to the holidays is simply sweet. Everyone is already in a celebratory mood, so why not bring together the people you love the most, during the most wonderful time of the year? What could be sweeter? Well hello there, Color Lovers. And Happy Friday! Today I have a really pretty elegant and festive palette - perfect for a Winter wedding or even a holiday party. Not sure if you've noticed, but this Winter I've really taken a liking to Gold. I suppose it's the way it sparkles. Or maybe it's because I just feel a certain warmth radiating from this color and I just can't deny how cozy it feels. Whatever the case may be, one thing is for sure... I'm loving the color gold for weddings!

Are you having a Winter wedding? Have you ever thought of incorporating a holiday spin or simply some holiday ideas into your big day? I love the idea of having an egg nog bar! Especially if you're a December bride. Or why not have specialty cookies made up that have a holiday feel to them? I'm loving these ones which feature a snowflake, a bird and a holly branch. Not sure what to do for favors? Have you ever thought about giving ornaments to your guests? It's a special sentiment that your guest will likely keep forever. I personally would love the idea of knowing that my guests would think of us every time they pulled out their ornaments to decorate each year.

Oh, there's no place like home for the holidays 'cause no matter how far away you roam... when you pine for the sunshine of a friendly face, for the holidays you can't beat home sweet home. I apologize, I sometimes just like to break out in holiday songs. Do you find yourself doing that at this time of year? For this palette, I had the idea of putting together some traditional colors with a touch of gray for interest. I think this turned out charming and absolutely cozy. I'm loving the old truck with the wreath attached to the front, the evergreen filled window boxes and I can't go without mentioning those absolutely fun red wellies.

So what do you think? Are you liking how red and green pair with gray and white? I think that this is an absolutely perfect way to use traditional colors. The gray adds depth and an unexpected uniqueness. While the overall feeling gives me all kinds of warm and fuzzy feelings. Definitely makes me happy to be home for the holidays! Plus I'm a huge fan of Winter weddings and these colors would make a pretty perfect Winter palette if you ask me.

I don't know about you, but I still can hardly believe that it's officially December! It's officially time to start celebrating all things Winter! I know I sort of jumped the gun with all of the holiday inspiration boards in mid-November - but what can I say? I just love the holidays! For me, Winter is a time to start bundling up in layers, and cuddling up with loved ones! It's a time of celebration & tradition. And its a time of reflection & giving thanks. What do you think of this holiday inspired palette? I'm truly smitten with teal here lately and I think it is the perfect compliment to antique gold and shades of green. It's elegant, it's different and quite frankly, I love it! I can see this being so festive for a holiday party or even a winter wedding for that matter. The holidays are such a magical time. And so what better time to get married? Not engaged? Why not throw a really swanky holiday party? Whatever the reason for celebrating, one thing is for sure ~ there truly are so many ways to make a holiday inspired party come to life. And although I absolutely love the traditional red and green - there is something so fun about using non-traditional colors. Don't you think? That's why I really love how shades of purple marry with antique gold.

When it comes to Winter weddings, there's no shortage of pretty palettes. From the soft and romantic ones to the bold and festive...there really are so many ways to use color to bring your wedding to life. I happen to love using metallic colors during this time of year. How do I like to incorporate them, you ask? Well, to me the best way to incorporate a little shimmer into your wedding is to pair metallic elements with softer more natural elements. Keeping the overall feel very natural and then adding in a touch of shimmer here and there really lets you appreciate the sparkle and also makes it so that you don't go into shimmer overload. Is that even possible? Yes, I happen to think that it's definitely possible to overdo a good thing.

Winter weddings have always felt magical to me. And the idea of marrying in a little snowy chapel? Well, that is just one my favorite wedding fantasies. I'm imagining a little mountain chapel ...blanketed by snow, a very small guest list and a sweet gathering with simple and charming details. Sometimes keeping your wedding small is the way to go. And although having six of your favorite girlfriends by your side can be fun, there is also something to be said about smaller bridal parties. If I had to do it all again, I'm pretty sure I'd go a little smaller in that area.

And if I could plan another wedding - I think it would be absolutely fun to plan a Winter wedding. Especially, if there was a good chance that it would be a snowy wedding day. I seriously can't help but love how shades of blue mix with shades of gray. One of the images that is just speaking to me is the one of the bride bundled up in her coat. Such a sweet moment captured. So what do you think about the idea of saying 'i do' in a snowy wonderland like this?

The holidays are definitely my favorite time of year. Because what's not to love? There's family get together, holiday parties, yummy food, winter weddings, gorgeous decorations and a whole lot of color!! Yep, the holidays definitely are one of the best times for seeing all kinds of winter color palettes. I like the bright and bold ones, the traditional ones and of course I have a serious soft spot for the soft and romantic ones. Today I thought I'd kick off the holidays in style with one of my all time favorite holiday palettes. A classic combination of red and white...
