America is on the verge of total societal collapse. It is no accident; Obama has been planning this for years. If you want to destroy a civilization, you destroy the very thing that is holding the frayed, fragile threads of society together. The Police. That's right. Without the Cops, it would be Ferguson, South Central LA in 1991, and New Orleans after Katrina all at the same time. Chaos. Pandemonium. The beginning of the SHTF scenarios that Patriots have been warning about for years.

What happens when society collapses? What happens when businesses burn, innocents are murdered, and anarchy ensues? The majority of Americans, the "sheeple" if you will, beg for a already overpowering government to come in and take control. Martial law. Gun confiscation. The end of the free republic. Exactly what Bill Ayers promised in his early writings, and exactly what Obama feels should happen to America.

Constitutionalists like myself have our own issues with the police. No knock raids are out of control, the militarization of the police needs to be dealt with, and we need to go back to the days where police were respected. Is that going to happen overnight? No. But, with the right leadership it is possible.

We need to respect and support our cops. Let them know that the majority of America stands with them. There are good and bad cops just like there are good and bad in every profession. Most of them are good! The cops currently on public trial did no wrong. Pray for them. Pray for America.

Political correctness is at it again! This time, its in the form of manufactured outrage over the simple words of a reality TV star, that happens to be somewhat of a backwoods hick. Now, I say that with complete reverence, as I am a God fearing, gun shooting man myself.

There are a few things going on here. First, we have a protected group of people that have infiltrated many of our media outlets and Hollywood, so it seems that when they are outraged, that the outrage is much greater than it really is. I suspect GLAAD actually speaks for about 2% of Americans, including those that may be homosexual.

This manifests itself in events like what we are seeing now with Duck Dynasty and A&E. A&E mistakenly believes a larger majority of people are offended than really are, and makes a rash decision. It is my belief that they will eventually apologize to Phil and have him back on the show even if that decision is financial rather than moral.

Millions of Americans feel the same way Phil does. We do not hate gays or lesbians. Many, like myself, have family and friends that are gay; we invite them to our homes, share dinner, stories, and laughs. We love them, even though we may not agree with their lifestyle. Like Phil, we leave it up to God to judge.

The bigger lesson here is the socialists still win and their agenda steams forward. Who is going to take a public stance for Christianity and traditional American values if the result is losing your job and being publicly discredited? Average Joe's and Jane's do not have successful reality shows with millions of fans, nor the money to mount a legal defense if we are unjustly treated. So, we sit back and shut up, cowering in the fear of political correctness; remembering what happened to that bearded guy that hunted ducks when he spoke about God.

Eventually, the minority appears to be the majority, and the majority is too scared to fight back. By the time the muster to fight back is awakened, it is too late. By then, we will have lost the means to speak out or fight back against an all powerful State that has systematically suffocated the freedom to think any other way except how we are told to think.

I do not have any advice on how to change this. Children are being taught PC from a very early age that we must accept all other cultures except Christianity and any other values except traditional American ones. The Republic is in a precarious place. One thing is for certain; the current political winds empower this type of behavior and if there is any hope of changing it, we have to start in DC.

If you review the pages of The Patriot Byte, Obama was called out for what he was back in 2008; a Stalinist thug. The three major scandals that are finally getting attention are vindication for these efforts.

There are other forces at work here as we see the perfect storm of Benghazi, the AP scandal, and the IRS scandal. Lest us not forget, the murder of Seal Team 6 shortly after Osama Bin Laden was killed; this is perhaps the biggest scandal of all, but unrecognized and unreported in the media.

Could this be the undoing of the first American Communist president? It is too early to tell, but it is safe to believe there are elements in the media and government that have coordinated their efforts to bring down Obama. If the scandals above have reached the American people, you can be assured that their are even more sinister scandals that have not yet been exposed.

Socialism and Communism are inherently evil and the scandals above are clear indications of this. The peoples spirit will not be crushed willingly; first, you have to sell everything that is wrong (free handouts) as good, and then you have to crush your opposition.

If Obama is not brought down by these scandals, he will be emboldened; then the country will see the true manifestation of evil from Obama.

There will be alot of hand wringing in the coming months as we try to digest the horrific tragedy in CT. I have my own theories on what happened, but this blog post is not the place to discuss them. Instead, I want to remind Americans on some common sense steps they can take to protect themselves when they are in public in this crazy world we live in.

-When entering a public place, always observe the entrances and exits and conjure up a quick plan on how you would get out if something bad happened. Do it a few times, and it becomes second nature.

-When possible, do not sit in a restaurant or theater with your back to the door. Always have a clear view of the entire room when possible.

-Mass shootings are usually over in seconds. Do not cower and wait for rescue. Run, fight, flee! It is extremely hard to hit a moving target. Your best chance to survive is to run. Teach your kids this. Do not teach them to cower and wait to be slaughtered. We have become a nation of sheep that have been conditioned to cower and wait to be rescued. This does not work.

I am no expert and this is not professional advice. These are the common sense words of someone who loves this country and is tired of the death and destruction around us. God Bless this country.

"Fight to be Free" or, why does the TSA have its hand down my pants?

Anyone that has lived in America longer than six months has heard the catchphrase: "America has fought to be free", or "We are at war to remain free." This elicits feelings of pride and joy to any red blooded American. Heck, even our Commander in Thief utters the phrases during weak moments!

My dad is a Vietnam Veteran that suffered two battle wounds during his tour, my Great Uncle was shot out of the sky in his B-17, and two of my nephews fought in Iraq. They suffered the horrors of war first hand in order to protect America from aggressors, as well as preserve freedom. I can speak for my dad at the very least; his version of Freedom that he was fighting for did not involve his children or wife being felt up by TSA agents.

In history, tyrannical governments have subjugated their citizens in many ways. The very definition of Tyranny is as follows: "cruelty and injustice in the exercise of power or authority over other others." I don't know about you, but I think that fits the TSA quite well. Why are they doing this? It is for one reason only; to get America conditioned for intrusive behavior at the hands of its government. After all, once you have had the TSA stick its hands down your pants, monitoring your private phone conversations or Internet habits seems like a walk in the park.

Everyone knows that to keep America free, we would just have to profile middle eastern men that fit a few parameters. That would keep us safe. This is not about safety.

In order to preserve the freedom and dignity our men in uniform fought for, we must resist this intrusion. Speak out at the airport in line; call your politicians; and best of all, do not fly unless absolutely needed. One of the worst tyrants in history, Adolf Hitler, once said the following: "How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think." Lets make sure America's soft tyrants, Obama and Napalitano, are stopped in their tracks.

My Rottweiler understands the theory of protecting ones property. Between his cute, velvet ears and his pudgy face, there is a complex brain that through years of evolution understands the basic premise of self defense.

My Rott doesn't want to hurt anyone. He is like a big baby, who loves attention and treats. He does realize, however, that there are some bad people in the world that would not think twice about doing his family harm. Therefore, he has implemented a simple, yet effective protection plan that thus far has been very effective.

His first line of defense is a deep, loud bark. If someone he doesn't like comes too close to our yard, he barks and throws himself against the fence. His second line of defense, if you are stupid enough to get into our backyard, is a strong bite, sharp teeth, and the muscles to use them. Thankfully, his loud bark and size has been enough so far. If you happen to get in our backyard and survive Roscoe, his owner will be waiting with a large and menacing gun. A simple, yet effective security plan.

Unfortunately for America, Obama is not as smart as Roscoe. In attempt to denigrate and run down this once great nation, Obama announced today that he would not use nuclear weapons even if America was attacked first. Instead of being the big bad Rottweiler on the block, Obama again cowers in front of the world like a scared ferret. And once again, America's enemies are emboldened to try their dangerous shenanigans without fear of reprisal from the worst President in our history.

I was never one of those that though Obama was naive. I knew from day one he was out to destroy this great nation. What better way to punish America for its perceived sins than to weaken it to a mere shell of its once great self. A US consulate attacked in Pakistan; no response. Lob a nuke into the middle of New York; lets understand what we did to deserve this instead of striking back with great force.

Our nuclear program was once this great nations Rottweiler. We didn't want to use it, but by God, we would if we had to. Those days are gone, as long as Obama is in power. Our only hope now is that the next guy in charge can undo the serious damage already done.

World terrorists can sleep a little easier tonight. Thanks to President Obama, if you are incarcerated at Club Gitmo, or kill 180 Americans over Lockerbie Scotland ,there is a good chance that you will be freed.

Just ask Libyan terrorist Abdel Al-Megahri. Because of no pressure from this US President, Scotland released the Lockerbie bomber this week, so he could go home and rest comfortably while he suffers from prostate cancer.

Unfortunately, his victims did not get the same treatment and consideration. His victims had to writhe in pain and horror while their plane exploded around them and they were burned alive from jet fuel. Many of his victims were innocent American schoolkids.

We all know Obama is a level below a socialist, Muslim loving, Alinsky bowing thug. But even this should give pause to those that gave him a pass before.

I am willing to bet that under a President like Ronald Reagan or George Bush, this would have never happened. Under those President's, America came first. Under Obama, its terrorists first. Welcome to the new America. Perhaps Obama will appoint Khalid Shaikh Mohammad as the new Muslim Relations Czar. After all, in Obama's eyes, we are the great Satan and deserve what we get.

At least that is what his actions say.

Infighting Damages Conservatives

On an episode of my favorite show, The Sopranos, Tony Soprano tells a story to his psychiatrist about a kid he grew up with that had a cleft palette that they hung around, just because he allowed Tony and his friends to make fun of him.

Tony goes on to tell his psychiatrist that he had recently felt the same way while playing golf with a few of his neighbors. Because of his involvement in the mafia, Tony felt that his neighbors invited him around just for the novelty of having like him around to poke fun at and use for their entertainment. Tony realizes that he is getting the same treatment that he once gave to the kid with the cleft palette, and is hurt by it.

In liberal and “elite” circles, conservatives are often treated the same way. We are looked at and laughed at, and if we are invited around, we are often the targets of snide comments and ridicule. As a conservative talk show host and blogger, I have experienced this first hand. While I expect it from liberals, I am dismayed when it comes from my own side.

J.R. Dunn’s article yesterday in American Thinker was an example of the infighting and ridicule that plagues the conservative movement. I have seen it with my radio colleagues, when I have been called a nut job for not vehemently denouncing late term abortionist George Tillers murder. I was called “stupid” for pointing out that Obama was caught staring at a 16 year old girl’s posterior. And, as a person that has serious questions about Obama’s legitimacy as a natural born citizen, I was marginalized yesterday in J.R. Dunn’s article at American Thinker.

What conservatives need to understand is that liberals will ridicule us no matter what our beliefs may be. They use the divide and conquer methodology, and many so-called conservatives play right into it. Conservatives need to realize that we are at war for our country’s very existence as outlined in the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. This is a very serious fight. Many hundreds of thousands of men and women have died to preserve those words, EXACTLY as they are written. One of the most important set of words is our Founding Father’s requirements that the President of this great nation must be a natural born citizen.

Obama could end the debate right now. He could produce historical records and a long form birth certificate to quell the debate. Conservatives could then move on to something else. I liken this argument to that of a teenager with a bad report card. As a teenager, when I had a great report card, I was happy, willing, and eager to share it with my parents.

Often, I would rush home from school and display it proudly. However, when I had a grade that I knew would be unacceptable to my parents, I engaged in different behavior. First of all, I would hope that my parents would forget it was report card time. Secondly, I would delay showing the report card for as long as possible. When my parents would become angry, and demand to see it, I would attempt to marginalize them with typical teenage vernacular such as “you don’t trust me”, “take my word for it”. I did this knowing that if I admitted the truth or showed proof, I would be punished. I didn’t have a million dollars to assist me in hiding my records from my parents (not that they would be bought off anyways), but I can assure you that this correlation is valid to the current birth certificate issue with our President.

Conservatives need to unite in this fight against Marxism that is being waged against this great country from the highest office in the land. If we don’t, these Chicago thugs will pick us off one by one. A great example of this is the failure of others in Talk Radio to defend talk show host Michael Savage. He has been banned in Britain and there have been very few that have come to his defense. Hannity, Limbaugh, and Levin; it is time for you all to speak up for him, or you surely will be the next one under attack.

When Obama is photographed obviously gawking at a young girls body parts, go after him. There could be one democrat soccer mom that sees that picture and is disgusted enough to drop her support for Obama. We need everyone we can get, regardless on how we do it.

If someone questions Obama’s birth certificate legitimacy, don’t ridicule them. It is a legitimate concern held by many Americans throughout this country. Level headed, hard working, American Thinkers. Obama is hiding something, as sure as you hid that bad report card from your parents. J.R. was right on one point. We need to humiliate Obama. We need Marxism to be undermined and exposed. However, it is a serious error to think that any of this will happen without a full frontal, unified assault from conservatives.

Please read the following excerpt from Investor’s Business Daily:

"Obamacare will outlaw individual private coverage.
Investor's Business Daily reported:
Congress: It didn't take long to run into an "uh-oh" moment when reading the House's "health care for all Americans" bill. Right there on Page 16 is a provision making individual private medical insurance illegal.

When we first saw the paragraph Tuesday, just after the 1,018-page document was released, we thought we surely must be misreading it. So we sought help from the House Ways and Means Committee.

It turns out we were right: The provision would indeed outlaw individual private coverage. Under the Orwellian header of "Protecting The Choice To Keep Current Coverage," the "Limitation On New Enrollment" section of the bill clearly states:

"Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day" of the year the legislation becomes law.

So we can all keep our coverage, just as promised — with, of course, exceptions: Those who currently have private individual coverage won't be able to change it. Nor will those who leave a company to work for themselves be free to buy individual plans from private carriers.

From the beginning, opponents of the public option plan have warned that if the government gets into the business of offering subsidized health insurance coverage, the private insurance market will wither. Drawn by a public option that will be 30% to 40% cheaper than their current premiums because taxpayers will be funding it, employers will gladly scrap their private plans and go with Washington's coverage."

Please remember one thing about Obamacare. The ultimate goal of this program is to strip you of more rights and freedoms. In addition, the government uses lies and half truths to scare the public into accepting their arguments. One of these arguments is the myth that “people with pre-existing conditions are denied health care.” This is simply untrue. I have had congenital heart problems since I was born. I have had 3 open heart surgeries in my lifetime (33 years old) and have switched insurance plans several times. I have never been denied health insurance due to my pre-existing conditions. It is just another scare tactic by Obama.

Furthermore, as you get older and develop health issues, Obamacare will force health care rationing and you will NOT be given the treatment you need. Obama has included “End of Life” counseling as part of the bill to help convince our elders that they should accept death instead of treatment. Think I am making this up? Look it up yourself. America is the beacon of light for healthcare in this world. If socialized medicine is implemented here, there will be nowhere else to go. Pass this on to everyone you know and let your elected officials know that socialized medicine has no place in the country that is the greatest example of freedom in the history of the world.

The Real "Iranian Lesson"

We have learned alot of things during the past week about Iran. Our heart goes out to the people of Iran and their suffering. However, there are important lessons that we can take from this international incident and use them to preserve our own freedom here in America.

The first lesson is that we must never give up our guns. No matter what laws are passed, or what we are threatened with, we must keep our guns by any means necessary. We cannot register them even if a law is passed that requires it. Laws do not equate with moral righteousness. There are some laws that are necessary to disobey.

We have seen the result of gun confiscation throughout history, and we are getting a refresher course with the events in Iran.

Protest - Guns + Tyrannical Regime = Death for citizens.

I can't make it any clearer. There is a reason dictators do not want citizens to be armed. The above equation makes it clear to even the dumbest graduate of American Public Schools.

The second lesson is that their are evil people throughout the world. The USA is not immune to this scourge, and we must be vigilant. Obama has telegraphed the precursors of evil intentions. Cap and Trade, Socialized medicine, "green energy" are all issues that serve no purpose other than to enslave Americans. Obama is not "inexperienced", "unqualified", or "ignorant". He is cold and calculated. We must fight everything that he puts in front of us with everything we have.

Iran has resorted to the color green to symbolize their freedom. The USA has red, white, and blue. Lets keep it that way.

Joan Walsh was on the O'Reilley Factor last night to defend late term abortionist Dr. Tiller. I posted a comment to her story on Salon.com. This is what I wrote:

I'm not usually a fan of Bill O'Reilley because he is too much of a centrist, but he was right on point last night and you were owned, Joan Walsh.

As a TRUE Catholic, I am insulted that you would even bring up your Catholicism on national TV. You do not even resemble anything close to a Catholic by your unwavering support for that murderer Tiller.

What he did was vile and anyone that lacks the conscience to understand that is a despicable human being. What is with you so called feminists and your obsession with killing babies? People like you would fit right into Mao, Stalin, or Hitlers administration.

You people have the gumption to do whatever is necessary for your political cause. You are not the first. Nazi's were cut from your same cloth. Just ask the Jews that were sent to the death camp. That was "lawful" in Nazi Germany.

The innocent babies slaughtered by Tiller met the same fate. They just didn't have to make the trip to Auschwitz in the cattle car.

Feminism Re-defined is still Feminism

Tabitha Hale at the pinkelephantpundit.com had an article yesterday on her decision to embrace the word "feminism" due to the suggestion of some of her readers that she is a true feminist. This is what she wrote:

Someone called me a “true feminist” last week in response to my articles regarding Playboy and Guy Cimbalo. At first, I was slightly taken back. Feminists generally don’t like me very much. It’s not a crowd I’ve ever considered running with. It did, however, make me think. What is a feminist? In my mind, it’s someone who embraces women for what they are. Someone who denounces gender rooted hate speech, no matter WHO it’s against. Who doesn’t believe that they need to be legislated into equality, but knows that they are already there. We were created equal to men, and yet we have different strengths – those strengths should be celebrated, not squashed in an attempt to be the same. We are NOT the same. Personally, I love being a woman, and I love the qualities that I have that make me different from a man. I don’t see that as backwards or anti-woman. It is, in fact, just the opposite. I am not a victim of my gender; I enjoy it.

So if that makes me a feminist, than I am a feminist.

I agree with the pinkelephantpundit's premise. However, I thnk it is a huge mistake for conservative women in our party to accept the "feminist" monkier. The fact is, the word "feminist" has many negative connotations attached to it and it is time to start defining our party and our people with our own terms. Trying to embrace leftist terms did not get us very far in last year's election.

All that we got was a ticket full of RINO's and Barack Hussein Obama as president.

This isn't the first time the pinkelephantpundit has done something like this. Not too long ago, she called many conservatives "nutjobs" for not falling all over ourselves and condemning Tiller's murder. Most of us, including myself, did not condone the murder, but realize what Tiller was and that the unborn is safer without him.

If being a smart girl in politics is what the pinkelephantpundit really wants, its time for her to re-examine her core beliefs and stop trying to appease the left. Conservative women do not want feminism attached to their names no matter how it is redefined. Semantics are everything and there are loaded words out there the Right can do without. I have a Twitter poll on this topic inbound, and we'll discuss on Tuesday's show.

D-Day 65 Year Anniversary

On this 65 year anniversary, lets remember the brave men that stormed the beaches so that we may be free.

Here is President Ronald Reagan's speech on the 40th anniversary:

We're here to mark that day in history when the Allied armies joined in battle to reclaim this continent to liberty. For 4 long years, much of Europe had been under a terrible shadow. Free nations had fallen, Jews cried out in the camps, millions cried out for liberation. Europe was enslaved, and the world prayed for its rescue. Here in Normandy the rescue began. Here the Allies stood and fought against tyranny in a giant undertaking unparalleled in human history.

We stand on a lonely, windswept point on the northern shore of France. The air is soft, but 40 years ago at this moment, the air was dense with smoke and the cries of men, and the air was filled with the crack of rifle fire and the roar of cannon. At dawn, on the morning of the 6th of June, 1944, 225 Rangers jumped off the British landing craft and ran to the bottom of these cliffs. Their mission was one of the most difficult and daring of the invasion: to climb these sheer and desolate cliffs and take out the enemy guns. The Allies had been told that some of the mightiest of these guns were here and they would be trained on the beaches to stop the Allied advance.

The Rangers looked up and saw the enemy soldiers -- the edge of the cliffs shooting down at them with machineguns and throwing grenades. And the American Rangers began to climb. They shot rope ladders over the face of these cliffs and began to pull themselves up. When one Ranger fell, another would take his place. Two hundred and twenty-five came here. After 2 days of fighting, only 90 could still bear arms.

Behind me is a memorial that symbolizes the Ranger daggers that were thrust into the top of these cliffs. And before me are the men who put them there.

These are the boys of Pointe du Hoc. These are the men who took the cliffs. These are the champions who helped free a continent. These are the heroes who helped end a war.

Gentlemen, I look at you and I think of the words of Stephen Spender's poem. You are men who in your ``lives fought for life . . . and left the vivid air signed with your honor.''

I think I know what you may be thinking right now -- thinking ``we were just part of a bigger effort; everyone was brave that day.'' Well, everyone was. Do you remember the story of Bill Millin of the 51st Highlanders? Forty years ago today, British troops were pinned down near a bridge, waiting desperately for help. Suddenly, they heard the sound of bagpipes, and some thought they were dreaming. Well, they weren't. They looked up and saw Bill Millin with his bagpipes, leading the reinforcements and ignoring the smack of the bullets into the ground around him.

Lord Lovat was with him -- Lord Lovat of Scotland, who calmly announced when he got to the bridge, ``Sorry I'm a few minutes late,'' as if he'd been delayed by a traffic jam, when in truth he'd just come from the bloody fighting on Sword Beach, which he and his men had just taken.

There was the impossible valor of the Poles who threw themselves between the enemy and the rest of Europe as the invasion took hold, and the unsurpassed courage of the Canadians who had already seen the horrors of war on this coast. They knew what awaited them there, but they would not be deterred. And once they hit Juno Beach, they never looked back.

All of these men were part of a rollcall of honor with names that spoke of a pride as bright as the colors they bore: the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, Poland's 24th Lancers, the Royal Scots Fusiliers, the Screaming Eagles, the Yeomen of England's armored divisions, the forces of Free France, the Coast Guard's ``Matchbox Fleet'' and you, the American Rangers.

Forty summers have passed since the battle that you fought here. You were young the day you took these cliffs; some of you were hardly more than boys, with the deepest joys of life before you. Yet, you risked everything here. Why? Why did you do it? What impelled you to put aside the instinct for self-preservation and risk your lives to take these cliffs? What inspired all the men of the armies that met here? We look at you, and somehow we know the answer. It was faith and belief; it was loyalty and love.

The men of Normandy had faith that what they were doing was right, faith that they fought for all humanity, faith that a just God would grant them mercy on this beachhead or on the next. It was the deep knowledge -- and pray God we have not lost it -- that there is a profound, moral difference between the use of force for liberation and the use of force for conquest. You were here to liberate, not to conquer, and so you and those others did not doubt your cause. And you were right not to doubt.

You all knew that some things are worth dying for. One's country is worth dying for, and democracy is worth dying for, because it's the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man. All of you loved liberty. All of you were willing to fight tyranny, and you knew the people of your countries were behind you.

The Americans who fought here that morning knew word of the invasion was spreading through the darkness back home. They fought -- or felt in their hearts, though they couldn't know in fact, that in Georgia they were filling the churches at 4 a.m., in Kansas they were kneeling on their porches and praying, and in Philadelphia they were ringing the Liberty Bell.

Something else helped the men of D-day: their rockhard belief that Providence would have a great hand in the events that would unfold here; that God was an ally in this great cause. And so, the night before the invasion, when Colonel Wolverton asked his parachute troops to kneel with him in prayer he told them: Do not bow your heads, but look up so you can see God and ask His blessing in what we're about to do. Also that night, General Matthew Ridgway on his cot, listening in the darkness for the promise God made to Joshua: ``I will not fail thee nor forsake thee.''

These are the things that impelled them; these are the things that shaped the unity of the Allies.

When the war was over, there were lives to be rebuilt and governments to be returned to the people. There were nations to be reborn. Above all, there was a new peace to be assured. These were huge and daunting tasks. But the Allies summoned strength from the faith, belief, loyalty, and love of those who fell here. They rebuilt a new Europe together.

There was first a great reconciliation among those who had been enemies, all of whom had suffered so greatly. The United States did its part, creating the Marshall plan to help rebuild our allies and our former enemies. The Marshall plan led to the Atlantic alliance -- a great alliance that serves to this day as our shield for freedom, for prosperity, and for peace.

In spite of our great efforts and successes, not all that followed the end of the war was happy or planned. Some liberated countries were lost. The great sadness of this loss echoes down to our own time in the streets of Warsaw, Prague, and East Berlin. Soviet troops that came to the center of this continent did not leave when peace came. They're still there, uninvited, unwanted, unyielding, almost 40 years after the war. Because of this, allied forces still stand on this continent. Today, as 40 years ago, our armies are here for only one purpose -- to protect and defend democracy. The only territories we hold are memorials like this one and graveyards where our heroes rest.

We in America have learned bitter lessons from two World Wars: It is better to be here ready to protect the peace, than to take blind shelter across the sea, rushing to respond only after freedom is lost. We've learned that isolationism never was and never will be an acceptable response to tyrannical governments with an expansionist intent.

But we try always to be prepared for peace; prepared to deter aggression; prepared to negotiate the reduction of arms; and, yes, prepared to reach out again in the spirit of reconciliation. In truth, there is no reconciliation we would welcome more than a reconciliation with the Soviet Union, so, together, we can lessen the risks of war, now and forever.

It's fitting to remember here the great losses also suffered by the Russian people during World War II: 20 million perished, a terrible price that testifies to all the world the necessity of ending war. I tell you from my heart that we in the United States do not want war. We want to wipe from the face of the Earth the terrible weapons that man now has in his hands. And I tell you, we are ready to seize that beachhead. We look for some sign from the Soviet Union that they are willing to move forward, that they share our desire and love for peace, and that they will give up the ways of conquest. There must be a changing there that will allow us to turn our hope into action.

We will pray forever that some day that changing will come. But for now, particularly today, it is good and fitting to renew our commitment to each other, to our freedom, and to the alliance that protects it.

We are bound today by what bound us 40 years ago, the same loyalties, traditions, and beliefs. We're bound by reality. The strength of America's allies is vital to the United States, and the American security guarantee is essential to the continued freedom of Europe's democracies. We were with you then; we are with you now. Your hopes are our hopes, and your destiny is our destiny.

Here, in this place where the West held together, let us make a vow to our dead. Let us show them by our actions that we understand what they died for. Let our actions say to them the words for which Matthew Ridgway listened: ``I will not fail thee nor forsake thee.''

Strengthened by their courage, heartened by their value [valor], and borne by their memory, let us continue to stand for the ideals for which they lived and died.

Black Panther Thugs Break Federal Law & Get Free Pass

I wonder if white people intimidating black people at the voting booths would have had the same result? This is a perfect picture of what we can start to expect with an Obama presidency. These are the new brownshirts. I am sure there was intimidation at the polls for Stalin and Hitler as well.

The intimidated voters should file a civil rights suit in federal court against the Justice Department and the Black Panther party. Where is the ACLU when you need them? If we let this happen without so much as a whimper, it will only embolden these thugs to be more agressive next time around.

White House press secretary Robert (Baghdad Bob) Gibbs, warned in a threatening manner reminiscent of Stalinist Russia, that people should be very careful on what they criticize Supreme Court nominee Sotomayor about.

Apparently, even though she is a outspoken racist against white males, we are not able to question her.

Don't worry folks. In a not so distant future, they will confine you to the gulag if you dare speak against the Messiah and his ilk. The wheels are in motion and are slowly picking up steam.

Memorial Day - A Time To Reflect Part II

Unfortunately, I have some sad news to report. As you may know, my last post chronicled my experience with Pfc James Coon, who was killed in Iraq by sniper fire a few years ago.

It seems that Pfc Coon's stepmother, overwhelmed with grief nearly 2 years after her stepson's death, committed suicide on Mothers Day so that she could be with her son in heaven.

This is another glaring example of the sacrifices our brave men and women's families have to endure as well. Marie Coon, rest in peace. May you finally find some peace with your stepson in heaven.

America is eternally grateful to both of you.

Memorial Day - A Time to Reflect

Memorial Day is a special day for this country. It is a day when we remember all the brave souls that gave all of what they had so that we can live free. Every time one of our servicemen or women are lost is a tragedy.

I had the distinct honor a few years ago to take part in an event that left a lasting impression on me, even to this day. A young soldier named Pfc James Coon that lived in Walnut Creek, California was killed in Iraq.

A group of motorcycle riders called the Patriot Guard Riders (www.patriotguard.org) had posted the news of his death on their website, and the slain soldiers family requested that the Patriot Guard provide an escort from the funeral home to the city park where the service would be held. I had been wanting to attend a Patriot Guard event, so I decided that this would be the one. I arrived at the funeral home early and joined up with the other 30 or so motorcyclists that had arrived to escort Pfc James Coon. It was a rainy and cold day. We escorted Pfc Coon to the City Park where a military funeral was held.

The original purpose of the Patriot Guard was to form a flag line to block the grieving families from any protesters that may be at the funeral. If there was a protest, the motorcyclists would fire up their bikes to drown out the protests.

There was no protest that day, so I stood straight and tall and held my American Flag. There were many moving speeches and kind words said about Pfc Coon. Something else that was seemingly insignificant at the time stood out to me as well. When they fired off the 21 gun salute, the citizens in the crowd jumped when every volley of fire was unleashed. Most of the people in the crowd had probably never fired a gun, let alone heard multiple guns at once.

I thought back to my dad, and his service in Vietnam, and Pfc Coon, and my Great Uncle Gene Moran, and realized how brave they really were. Brave enough, that under loud, imposing, relentless machine gun fire, they held their ground and protected their buddies. They thought clearly, and fought bravely under fire.

On Memorial Day, we must not just remember the soldiers that have died, but we must also remember those that lived. The soldiers that lived still had to bear the enormous weight of the horrors that they witnessed in war.

Memorial Day is a somber holiday. It should be a day of reflection and appreciation. We must teach our children that our freedom is fragile, and make them appreciate those that suffered and died to protect it.

After the service in the city park, we saddled up on our motorcycles to escort Pfc Coon back to the funeral home. This time, there was no police escort, no reporters, no crowds. When we arrived back at the funeral home, the director asked if we would like the honor of removing Pfc Coon's casket from the hearse. Of course, we all took our positions behind the hearse. With a stiff upper lip and a lump in my throat, we carried Pfc Coon back into the funeral home. I thanked him for his service, and promised him I would never forget what he had done.

I participated that day for a number of reasons. Probably the most important reason was for my father. I wanted my dad to understand that he had raised me to have respect and reverence for the military and this country, and that by honoring Pfc Coon, that I was honoring all our men and women that served.

I also wanted my father to know that I was there for Pfc Coon to make sure he had a respectful and honorable burial, protected from the anti-war nuts that my father had to endure when he returned from Vietnam. Last, but not least, I wanted Pfc Coon's family to see that their son did not die in vain, but rather with the respect and admiration of his country for what he had done for us.
