Has shakira gone a little bit crazy or is it just me? We all love Shakira’s music and what not, but don’t  you think that some artists should stay way from some areas of music. Some know how to really play it off and actually make the song sound good; but sometimes. . . the song does not even come out right, especially if the lyrics suck and you can’t understand what they are saying.

While minding my own business on a Monday  morning listening to the spanish radio station in florida, for tampa bay locals, I heard that shakira was making a new song. First thing that came to my mind was “Sweet! a new song, I’m so tired of the over played ones”. Later on they mention her new song is in Merengue, I thought to  myself “Well this should be interesting”. Right when I heard her sing the first two words I was literally thinking “SHAKIRA WHAT DID U DOOOOO!!!” The song that is supposedly good, is called “Loca” there is a spanish version and an english version to it as well. Either way spanish or english it is not done very well.

If you ask me, this song was not the best one she has done. The worst part is she is trying to sing merenge. Literally when I heard the few versus of the song my mouth dropped, not at the amazement of the song, but at how horrible it was. Luckily I was not the one driving or I would have been in a car crash. The music is good, but the lyrics I do not understand them, and just the vocals, since she does have a very interesting voice, do not really go well with the music. The only part that is okay is the chorus part, other than that. . .not so well done.

Even thought this song was not very well done, I give her a little bit of credit for trying. Let’s face it though, I think shakira should stay AWAY from merengue and possibly salsa. Can you imagine how her Salsa songs would sound like? I don’t want to even want to get started with that topic, but if you really want to hear it and see what i’m talking here’s the song (Good Luck):

If you are a pathetic loser in life like me, where you have no friends, fun or social life — wait that’s something for another day… Today’s post will cover just a single part from the Emmys 2010.

Frankly, I don’t care much for the Emmys, however, I figured why not ask my readers to share their thoughts on the event and possibly post their thoughts on those who won? Whether your favorite TV Show or TV Movie won, the truth is that you wanted to find out if Glee won their 19 nominations or if the LOST cast would at least  make an appearance somewhere.

Well, I guess the LOST fans were happy. I’m talking about, the opening skit with Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, Joel Mchale, the Glee Cast, and Kate Gosselin… Wait what? Kate Gosselin?! Trust me, if didn’t saw the Emmys, then I think it was for the best. Although, what kind of a blogger would I be if I don’t post the video right here…

To be honest, the skit was actually pretty cool. It showed how Tina Fey doesn’t know how to sing, but also debuts Kate’s acting gig! (cuz that woman can’t get any more attention). I personally liked the whole kit with the exception of Kate being in it. What were your thoughts?  Did you saw the Emmys? Do you care for the Emmys? Wao! A whole week has already passed by and now I give you the final upcoming film for this Movie Week. Another comedy called “Barry Munday”. This movie is set to be released October 1st, 2010.

The movie tells the story about Barry (Patrick Wilson), a man that can only think of one thing…Women. Everything was good with life, but then he got into a tragic accident. His “family jewels” are gone and now he must accept his new life. However, everything spins out of control when a woman (played by Judy Greer) claims that her unborn child is from Barry. Barry does not recall having sex with her, but decides to do the right thing, stand by her and be a good father. One question remains, though. Is it really his baby? Watch and predict!

I give this movie a BIG FAIL!…no make that a SUPER FAIL! Why? because the movie just looks stupid! There isn’t anything funny about it. Simple as that. What are your thoughts?

Today, I decided to get a bit more serious…

Psh, like that’ll ever happen. Moving on to Day 4 of our Movie Week, I bring you “Black Swan”. A very serious story about a girl who turns into a swan *insert dramatic music*. The movie is set to be released December 1st, 2010.

Ok, technically, I don’t know if the girl turns into swan or not, but what I do know is that the movie tells the story about a ballerina, Nina (played by Natalie Portman), who is obsessed with dancing but lives with a psychotic and controlling mother. She gets an opportunity to participate in “Swan Lake”, but in order to succeed she must prove that she can be both the Black Swan and the White Swan (apparently they are iconic of that play, don’t judge me I haven’t seen nor heard about the Swan Lake). A newcomer, Lily (played by Mila Kunis) , also joins in but becomes a threat to Nina. Lily can play very well (and I mean VERY Well!) the “Black Swan”. Nina, on the other hand, plays really well the role of the “White Swan”. Nina sets out to find her darker side but finds herself being consumed by it. Will she get out alive? Will she turn into a swan?

This movie was actually quite hard for me to either give it a WIN or FAIL. However, I think I’ll go with WIN! The movie seems to be pretty good, plus it gets very interesting towards the end! I just hope that this isn’t one of those movies that the trailer leaves you confused and when you watch the movie you become even more confused; hating the movie in the process. What do you think?

Today is Day 3 of our movie week. I thought I would show something a bit different.  A Comedy.

Here I present you “The Winning Season“, comes out next Friday! (Sept. 3rd). The movie is about a women’s basketball team in High School that apparently suck very much at it (surprise surprise). All it takes is: “A Guy with a Mustache” to come and save the day!

I give this movie a… FAIL! I think this movie will FAIL, because is just another cliché story of a bad team who learn to play together and learn to value each other not only as a team member, but also as a person. Yes, great message, but we’ve seen it over and over and over again. The movie is rated “PG-13″, but I don’t know why. To me, it looks way to safe. Ugh… I saw the trailer and I think a WNBA Basketball Game would be more interesting…

This second upcoming film comes from Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) and is set to be released November 5, 2010. The movie is called “127 Hours” and is based on the true story of Aron Ralston (played on the movie by James Franco), who is a mountain climber that loves adventure, but an accidental slip causes his arm to be trapped by a fallen boulder in a Utah canyon and his journey to survive over the next five days before he’s rescued. Here’s the trailer! Start making your predictions!

I give this movie a WIN! Although the beginning of the trailer had me kind of “bleh”, the rest of the trailer really makes you wonder if this person will get out alive or not (which we all probably will know that he’ll be ok).  One thing that got me thinking was the “R” rating given to this movie…How crazy can this movie be? Welcome to Movie Week! If you don’t know what that is about, you can read about it here. Today’s movie will be released this November and it star is Russell Crowe. Don’t know what I’m talking about? I’m talking about “The Next Three Days”.

Judging from the trailer, the movie is about this family (Russell Crowe, Elizabeth Banks) whose life is turned around when the wife is accused of murder. Is now up to Russell Crowe to prove his wife innocence. According to different sources, this movie is a remake of the French film “Pour Elle“. Time to play the game… Fail or Win?!

I will share my thoughts: “WIN!” Although, I could be wrong. Judging from the trailer, it feels like this movie will be filled with suspense and action. However, I kind of feel that the trailer shows the good parts of the movie. That could be a bad thing. What do you think? Vote and leave your comment!

One of the best selling franchises for Playstation 3 is now coming with it’s second chapter. InFAMOUS 2 was given a sneak peak at GamesCon 2010 and judging from the “still” trailer.. it looks pretty cool. I haven’t had the opportunity to play this game, but from people who I’ve asked about this game, they all conclude that this game is quite amazing to play. Watch the trailer and draw your own conclusions…

So, are you electrified already for this game? *comedic drum riff*

We are very highly tired of hearing about the Twilight series and what not. People are so tired about it that they literally had to make a movie about these series and they’re crazy fans. There has been posts and trailers about the comedy movie Vampires Suck. I for one was one of the ones that wanted to watch it, just because it is very tiring hearing the names Jacob! or Edward!. I mean they even have commercials about the Eclipse series. McDonalds…really?

This movie by far is a funny movie, with rather interesting parts. The funny thing is that they did a really good job with getting people that look just like the original characters in the Twilight series. Mostly what the director did is bring all the series of Twilight together and just put it all into one movie. This was definitely a good comedy because at the most serious moments they had to put something hilarious just to break the conflict or the seriousness of the moment. Although there are some parts that make you want to go “Awwwww” and there are some parts that make you go “Yawn”, but overall it was a pretty funny movie.

I don’t want to spoil the movie for all of you, but all I have to say is if you are tired of the hearing about the Twilight series, this is the movie for you. If you want to finally be able to make fun of Jacob turning a chihuahua instead of a werewolf, now is your chance. If you want to make fun of Edward for being so white that he has to wear make up to look more whiter than what he is, go ahead, now is your chance.

A gamer’s dream comes to life! I had the pleasure of watching Scott Pilgrim vs The World and I tell you it was epic! The movie is about “Scott” (Michael Cera) who after a bad breakup seems to him that life wouldn’t make any sense. He plays in a band called “Sex Bo-omb” but they are….(just watch it). It seems everything is going wrong for Scott. That is, until he meets: Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). Ramona seems to steal his heart, but in order for them to be together… Scott must defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends.  Based on the graphic novel: “Scott Pilgrim Volume 1:  Scott Pilgrim’s Precious little life”. Seeing how there are 5 Volumes, I guess we can expect 4 more movies?

The tagline of this movie is: Epic of Epic Epicness! and they couldn’t be more right! This movie was hilarious and filled with action. However, in order to enjoy this movie you must be a gamer to notice the subtleties  that are in the movie. The movie makes reference to many video games and the video game industry in general, but listen and watch closely so you notice a couple of games refrences like: Zelda, Final Fantasy, Street Fighter, Dance Dance Revolution, among others. If you know a lot about old games and current games you will get all the subtleties and you will enjoy this movie. I tell you that when I left the theater, you could count those who didn’t knew about the games referenced in the movie. They were all criticizing the movie.

However, the funniest thing is that I’ve never seen so many gamers in one room. It was gamer after gamer coming to the theater that it was just laughable. It was like “Revenge of the Nerds” or a “Gamer Geek Convention” either way it was awesome.
