Good heatwave day to you! It has been a scorcher here for the past week - the kind where the grass crunches when you walk on it...ugh. We need RAIN!

So I made a cheery card to get my mind off of the weather. My craft room is in the basement so it is so nice and cool down there! I'm Lucky!

I began by setting up my 1/2" Stripe Stencil Set onto my piece of Sugar Cube cardstock and stencilled to my heart's content using the following Taylored Expressions Inks: Pink Champagne, Candy Corn, Pineapple, Lime Zest, Cilantro, Sprinkles, Gumball, Blueberry, Lavender Glaze, Plum Punch, Jelly Donut and finally To ffee! Did you notice how all of the names are food based? Yummers!

I diecut the panel with the Your Next Stamp Stitched Rectangle Die Set and adhered it to another Sugar Cube cardstock panel which was then popped up onto my card base

I diecut the "Hugs" die four times with Plum Punch, Lime Zest, Lollipop and Cookie Monster cardstock and adhered it to another stitched rectangle. That panel was popped up onto the stencilled background and then I added a menagerie of bling, sequins and just all around FUN!

Oh yes it can - we all have to do our part!

I couldn't resist these cute little images from Waffle Flower - the Hello Combo set! How sweet are these little humans?!

This card kind of came along as I was creating it - I had a teeny vision and wanted to try to pull it off haha!

I stamped the girls and boys in a High Five stance and coloured them with my Copic markers. Then I used My Favorite Things grass stencil and Taylored Expressions Set the Scene - Cloud Strips to stencil the background. It came out pretty good - I especially love the little kitty dancing in the grass!

The sentiment is Simon Says Stamp Uplifting Thoughts stamp set and the cute little embellishments are from Your Next Stamp!

I die cut the panel with Waffle Flower Additional A2 Layers Die - two different sizes to get the card base to show up. These dies fit in between the original A2 Layers Dies - so many choices!!

Good Morning! and if you are Canadian - Happy Canada Day! and if you are not Canadian I wish you a happy day regardless!

We are not doing much because of this whole silly year and Coronavirus et al, but I am leaving the house to pick up groceries yay! Strange how little things excite me now 😁. Hubby has gone fishing so I hope he brings home supper - that would be awesome!

I made a Canada Day card to celebrate the day - this cute little Mountie image is from Taylored Expressions and is from The Moka Collection, which is now retired I believe. I bought her way back when and brought her out this year.

I stamped the Mountie image on a panel of Sugar Cube cardstock and coloured her up with my Copic markers. Using stamping mask paper, I masked this cute little Mountie and then using the Set the Scene-Clouds Stencil Strips, I stencilled the clouds with Sea Salt Ink - a beautiful very light aqua. I also stencilled the grass using two different colours of ink using a stencil I previously owned.

I removed the mask and gasped! LOL I love the reveal - the best feeling ever. I stamped the little maple leaf with Cherry Cobbler ink, die cut it with a heart die and sponged it up to match with the sky and grass. I popped it up beside the Mountie and adhered the panel to a piece of red cardstock.

For my card base, I used the Plaid Layered stencil with Sea Salt Ink and Cherry Cobbler and popped up the panel onto the base.

I added some red and white twine because - well - Canada Day!

Good morning....and yes there is light out there this morning - glorious sunshine! We received some much needed rain last night - a big old thunder boomer - LOVE them!

I recently got my hands on the "All is Bright" additions (Stamp and Die combo). I had previously used the All is Bright stamp set and matching die for my Christmas Cards this year so I was thrilled to see the "Additions" release!

I love how you can make the lantern so springy or summery - whichever you wish!

I watercolored the background and then, using a hexagon die, I only partially diecut my watercolored panel for an interesting backdrop.

I die cut the lantern from watercolored cardstock that I made. I chose to only use the lantern although there is a matching stamp that could be inked up.

The flowers and vines are part of the set, along with the sentiment, and as I had some

florals left from a previous card using Freshs Cut Florals,

I added them too!

I added some Taylored Expressions White Rhinestones for some sparkle and tied on a wee bit of twine.

Big Grumpy and Social Distancing!

I had a chance to download the new sentiments from Taylored Expressions regarding social distancing and I used one of them on my Big Grumpy!

Using the matching dies, I diecut Grumpy and coloured him with my copic markers. My back panel is a Reverse Confetti Stitched Scallops Cover Panel and I cut it with a wonky die - because Grumpy is a wee bit wonky himself haha!

The pink heart is one that I found in my scrap drawer and so I just had to use it! I'm sure Grumpy appreciates it lol!

I also added some Taylored Expressions White Rhinestones for an embellishment - they are so sparkly!!

Don't you just love that sentiment?! We should all be trying to choose JOY right now - especially during these crazy times - it just feels better!

I recently purchased this "Fresh Picked Florals" stamp set and matching dies from Taylored Expressions. It's a photopolymer stamp set which makes it so simple to layer - yay!!

To begin creating my card, I stamped the red rubber Shiplap background with Toffee Ink, then I went to work stamping and layering my flowers. I used Lollipop, Cherry Pop, Plum Punch, Pineapple, Candied Corn, Cookie Monster, Blue Raspberry, Lime Zest and Cilantro for the images. I love how they just come to life with the different layers!

I tend to make a whole bunch so that they are available for future projects and while I am in the stamping mode - let's STAMP!!

After die-cutting all my flowers and leaves, it was easy to arrange a small floral arrangement onto the Shiplap Background - popping up some images and adhering others with Tombow Mono adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment from Handlettered Sentiments with Poppy Seed ink from Taylored Expressions. Did you know that all of their inks are named after food??!!! YUMMY!

I popped up the stamped panel onto Kraft cardstock and added some pretty little Studio Katia gems for lots of sparkle!

Oooo it feels good to be back stamping again!

Scrapping with scraps!

Hey there!

I recently was watching some of Jennifer McGuire’s videos, and came across a video on how to use your scraps efficiently and wisely.

Well, since I use a lot of patterned paper and I have a ton of scraps as we all do, I knew that I could make this background.

I have a lot of blues and greens and turquoise scraps and so I cut them into strips and placed them diagonally on a glued piece of card stock. I trimmed it down to the size that I needed and added it to my Lemon Tart card base. I die cut a piece of vellum and adhered it my scrappy background.

I die cut a Simon Says Stamp wafer die sentiment from white craft foam and then again white cardstock and glued them together so it will add dimension to my card. ARGGHH MY “U” IS DROOPING!! 😑

It was rather plain looking so I added a pretty little flower from Bitty Bouquets along with a few yellow sequins scattered here and there!

The trees are beginning to turn colour and I love it so much. Autumn is my favourite time of year!

Well, I can’t believe that it’s been two years since I have posted. A lot has happened in the stamping industry since then. Stamp companies have closed and stamp companies have opened ... I am still into stamping, but have mostly been posting on Instagram, so I’m going to try to blog again ...yay!

I am revamping my stamp room so it is very disorganized. I have found/discovered so much product that I had stashed away...it is so fun to use it before I lose it again haha

One of the sets I found behind “stuff” was Papertrey Ink’s Grand Botanical Dies, so I created! I used a few different colours of cardstock for these cards so that you can make a few different creations with all the colours!

The sentiment is from Pen & Ink stamp set and I added a few sweet sequins to the mix! So sorry about the lighting.... my room is in such an uproar I can’t find my light 😑

Hey everyone, it's time for Crazy 4 Challenges!

Of course you know that October is Breast Cancer awareness month, so our challenge to you is to make an inspirational card with pink in it - extra points if you mail it out to someone who needs it!

I'm kind of in love with Concord and 9th turnabout series - last week I used Flowers Turnabout and this week I am using Dotty Turnabout!

I stamped the turnabout in various shades of pink and purples using my Misti - VITAL for me because I can not stamp anything straight for the life of me haha

I die cut part of my panel and popped it up onto Papertrey Ink's striped cardstock.

I diecut the work KIND from Concord and 9th KIND die and popped it up to hang over the papers - are you with me so far?! It sounds complicated but it is really simple.

I stamped the sentiment from Kindhearted, and added Your Next Stamp black enamel dots to highlight the word kind.

Crazy 4 Challenges-It's Sketch Week!!

It's the third week of Crazy 4 Challenges so that means it is SKETCH WEEK!! Use this sketch for your creation and enter in our challenge!

Using Concord and 9th Flower Turnabout for my background, following the youtube video and instructions from Marcie - geesh I love having a daughter who can give me stamping tips, I began stamping the flowers.

I used Altenew Ink - Frosty Pink, Cotton Candy, Peach Perfect and Mango Smoothie - I just love the finish of these inks.

Once I had the background inked, I used a stitched square from Your Next Stamp's Stitched Square Die Set and haphazardly die cut squares.

I popped up the negative part of the cut die and adhered the stitched squares to my card base.

I embossed one of the sweet sentiments from Flower Turnabout onto a round diecut vellum and added it to my card.

I finished off with Pretty Pink Posh rose gold sequins - pretty pretty shade!!

Mix It Up Challenge with Ellen Hutson

Ellen Hutson's Mix-it Up Challenge is with Altenew this month! The idea is to use a stamp set from Ellen Hutson and a stamp set from Altenew - easy as peas and carrots.....

I used the adorable Baker Lady from Ellen Hutson and matching dies, and a sentiment from Altenew's Vintage TeaCup.

My background was made by sponging ink into squares onto watercolored paper.

I then stamped and watercolored my cute little Baker Lady and some of her accessories and arranged them the way I desired. I popped everything up using dimensional tape.

Do you see the sweet pies? and that rolling pin tucked under her arm? There are sooooo many options with this stamp set and dies!

I stamped the Altenew sentiment and steam and added some enamel dots.

I'm getting this challenge in - under the wire so gotta go!

It's National Dessert Day!!

This week at Crazy 4 Challenges, we are celebrating DESSERTS!! Yummy! We Canadians have had our fill of food after celebrating our Thanksgiving, but really can you ever have enough sweets?! ...and its National Dessert Day!!!

I used one of Suzy Plantamura's Birthday Notes watercolour sheets from Simon Says Stamp for my dessert! I watercoloured the image using Zig Real Brush watercolour markers - one of my favourite ways to watercolour.

After die-cutting my main image using Mama Elephant All Prettied Up, I adhered it to my background patterned paper from Lawn Farm Perfectly Plaid 6 x 6 paper pad.

A perfect Dessert for National Dessert Day!!

Good Morning! It's my month on the Crazy 4 Challenges website - I have some fun challenges for you this month and I hope you will join us!

Today is National Cardmaking Day - a day full of crafty experiments or just stamping for fun!

My challenge to you is to - Make a Card!! Such an easy challenge - it's all about having a good time relaxing in your craft area.

Papertrey Ink is the star of my card this week - Using Mini Blooms, I stamped several small flowers in different colours along the bottom half of the card panel.

I die cut the word HUGS from the Papertrey Ink HUGS die set in cardstock and textured vellum and layered it on top of the flowers. I trimmed the top corner and layered it onto red and kraft cardstock.

This week, being the third week at Crazy 4 Challenges, we have a sketch for you!

And here is my take on the sketch!

I love these cute little piggies and their sweet noses! Reverse Confetti's "Cured" fits the bill for a sweetheart of a piggy stamp set!

I stamped, watercolored and diecut the piggies, the trough and the little banner. Using dimensional glue dots, I popped up one of the clouds and the trough.

Excuse the lighting.....I don't know why I couldn't get it right this week - ugh!!

Good Morning! Crazy 4 Challenges has a monochromatic challenge this week!

Just create a card using only one colour of different shades! Black is also legal :)

I decided to use different shades of gray and I stamped with Reverse Confetti's Rollin'. I multi stamped the roller skate in black on a diecut circle.

I popped a lot of up designer paper to give it a little bit of snazz!

Good day and welcome to Crazy 4 Challenges! This week our challenge to you is to make a cheerful card! The sun is shining and the grass is growing and there is a lot to be happy about!

I used Little Inkers die along with some spotted patterned paper from Papertrey Ink for my card.

I diecut and popped up the word "Faith" from Simon Says Stamp and then added the sentiment from WPlus9 - that is all. I mean really - Faith is all it is about right?!! :)

I added a few sequins and tied some twine around the top - although the twine got shorter and shorter as I trimmed it - dang.

Today is Hammock Day!! What a wonderful way to relax.....so for Crazy 4 Challenges this week, we would like you to create a card with the theme of relaxation in mind!

Now for me - relaxation is all about a spa and everything that goes with it! I recently took my daughter for her birthday to have a pedicure and I am jumping at the chance to have the full treatment!

Sorry about the rotten lighting. I was taking this photo at night because I am such a procrastinator, I didn't make my card until the last minute this week! - and I honestly don't know where those two dots came from at the left....they are not on my card-weird.

I stamped the Spa lady and her mask 3 times-this set is called Spa Day by Essentials by Ellen - and proceeded to watercolour. I made a two toned background and then painted her gooey face :)

The candles were stamped, diecut and watercolored. I popped them up to make it a bit more pleasing to the eye - my eye mostly. I added some sparkle to the candles and spa masks because you can never have enough sparkle!!

Good morning! It has been raining on and off for days in Southern Ontario and so I thought these images along with the sentiment would be perfect!

Crazy 4 Challenges has a sketch challenge this week - always on the third week of the challenge - and it is quite simple so why don't you join us and link up!

I used my new stamps from Ellen Hutson/Julie Ebersole called All Inside - it's all about that bear for me!

I die cut, stamped and watercolored the sweet bear and since his little arms are diecut too - you can tuck whatever you need to tuck into his arms!! There is also a set that compliments All Inside and it is called Bear Ware - that is where the umbrella came from.

I diecut and watercolored the sun and tucked it into his arms, along with the umbrella. The sentiment is perfect!

The great thing about all this rain? It makes pulling the weeds so much easier! Silver Linings :)

Crazy 4 Challenges - Happy Canada Day!!

Happy Canada Day and it's time for another Crazy 4 Challenges post!

This week our challenge was to create a card with a park theme! Something that you would see in a park -- swings, trees, animals, children, a pond....

Since we travel to beautiful Florida for the winter, we see trailers in our park! I think this tag would be great on a bottle of wine or a gift to celebrate a retirement or a new camp site lol!

I stamped the little trailer from Papertrey Ink's Petite Places: Happy Camper Mini Stamp Set all over white cardstock with red ink - since it is Canada Day!

I diecut the word "Hooray" (from Shaker Shapes: Balloon Die) 3 times and adhered them together and then added it to the "patterned paper".

The sentiment (from Hooray Stamp Set) was stamped and embossed onto a strip of black cardstock. The whole things was layered onto a die cut of the Quilted Die tag and then I added a bunch of red and white embroidery thread!

I hope you join in our challenge this week- there are so many things to see in the park in the summer time!

Crazy 4 Challenges - It's all about Water!

Today is Swim a Lap Day! We want you to include some form of water on your card for our challenge this week......a river, the ocean, a pool, raindrops, bubbles - you can go crazy!

I used a water stamp from Hero Arts and inked it up with all sorts of blues. I added some sand using kraft cardstock and sponged kraft ink onto my stencil to jazz it up a bit.

I stamped the Lockhart Adirondack chair and flowers with Memento Ink, coloured it haphazardly using Spectra Alcohol Markers and fussy cut it out so I could pop it up onto the "sand".

I die cut the Papertrey Ink hearts and stamped the Reverse Confetti sentiment using black ink.

Hey everyone! Since it is the third week of the month for Crazy 4 Challenges, we have a sketch - quite easy for you (and me-yay!).

I decided to do a bit of watercoloring - just a bit - and water-washed a blue and green background with Zig Real Brush Markers onto Crafter's Companion watercolour cardstock.

After drying with my heat gun - because I'm impatient - I diecut the watrecoloured panel with an MFT stitched rectangle. I adhered that panel to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of patterned paper which was adhered to my white card base.

Using Papertrey Ink's Inspired by Prayer stamp set and Prayer die, I crafted my sentiment. A few sporadic clear sequins from Pretty Pink Post and it was finished!

June is Rose Month!

Good Day! Did you know that June is Rose Month? Me either!

That is our challenge this week at Crazy 4 Challenges, - Roses!! Whether you want to use one rose or a bouquet of roses - anything is fine - just go for it!

I had extra dies from last week's card, so they were perfect to use! And....we have had to use these dang sympathy cards lately....ugh so sad.

I use all Reverse Confetti product for my card - except for the middle scalloped panel - that is Papertrey Ink. Check them out!

Just a short post today - I think I am the lucky recipient of intestinal flu - yikes and yuck.

It's Repeat Day on Crazy 4 Challenges!

Good day - oh boy it feels good to be back - if even sporadically!

We have had a few changes going on in our home (all good) so I have been rearranging. That means my craft room - holy yuck I have a lot of stuff - yikes.

Anyway - back to Crazy 4 Challenges. Did you know that today is Repeat Day! - so with your creation this week, we want you to repeat something three times.

It could be three circles, three flowers, three elephants - whatever you think deems repeating - even PICKUP YOUR SOCKS! - 3 times - we've all done that haha

I took a different route, sort of. I used three images dies - two times each - and that counts believe me!

Using Reverse Confetti Rose Garden stamp set and Confetti Cuts, I stamped the rose image twice with Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I then sponged Piggy Back, Flamingo and Rose ink onto the roses and diecut them.

I stamped and diecut two leaves and two spriggy leafy things and arranged them all in a pleased order onto the Linked Circles Cover Panel Confetti Cuts, which in turn was popped up onto a panel of Smoke cardstock. That whole panel was then adhered to my Piggy Back card base.

Using Simon Says Stamp Smoke ink, I stamped the sentiment from Reverse Confetti Simply Sentiments onto white cardstock and adhered it to my card.

I used CAS-ual Fridays Big Treble stamp set and their Treble Clef Fri-die for my creation this week.

Create Together with Marcie Sharp

Hey there - My lovely daughter Marcie Sharp has invited me to Create Together and I was most happy to oblige!

Marcie gave me this inspiration piece to work with and one rule - NO PATTERNED PAPER (eek!) and honestly, I almost went over and told her to pick another one lol! This is not really my taste, but I'm a professional - right? - right?? - so I made it work.

I started out using the SSS Falling Stars die and then it just evolved from there. Since I could see Birthday in those stars, I brought out my Crafter's' Companion Sara Signature Happy Birthday stamp and Dies.

The balloons are embossed - isn't that awesome!! One swipe through the Gemini Die Cutting and Embossing Machine and that balloon was cut and embossed - perfect!

The sentiment is from Sara Signature stamp set - love that font!
