Love the look of the back alter wall and cross with the new lighting. It makes it so much brighter.

I love the new colors in the Sanctuary. They are very warm and soothing. I never gave the screen much thought until the new colors but I can see the point about not seeing the cross and that IS important since that is the reason we are there. I know the committee will come up with the best solution because all is for His glory.

I love the shades of blue behind the altar! They highlight the cross and bring out the blues in the stained glass.

Paint is funny...I really love the Cry Room colors. :-) I do feel joyful when I look at them. Looking forward to decorating it with kid-friendly stuff, too.

Shouldn't a cry room be sad? Just saying...

There were some posters up on the wall and curtains that we took down for painting. We're unclear who "owns" the room and decides what goes back in there. It may be a discussion for a future Renovation Team meeting. It's definitely not "complete" with just the paint job.

Gotta say I agree with you , Eric. I am wondering what we could do to make it a happier, joyful place. Right now it feels very sad to me.

Hey - as of writing this (Wed @ 6:30pm) , there is now paint on the chancel walls and the balcony walls are covered (don't know if all coats of paint are on yet or not.) and it looks great!!! Will take some getting used to, but I think I really like the colors in the sanctuary and balcony!!!

Really hoping the curtains and other decorations in the crying room spruce it up a bit. Right now (admittedly unfinished) it brings to mine a police interrogation room ... or something similarly stale. Maybe I was thinking there would be more variance in color there since it is used for children. Could be just me, too. I'll wait and see what it's like when it's finished...

Really liking the rest of it, though!

Lynn, Good question on carpet colors. We have no current plans to replace any carpeting. The interior designer who worked on the paint colors took care to make sure that the colors would enhance all the natural materials in the church as well as the existing carpeting.
