In Need of New Furniture

We got some decent furniture at a really good price for our basement this past July. I'm starting to think I should have just used our current living room furniture for the basement and then I should have bought new furniture for our living room. We really need some new furniture. I know CJ would love a recliner and I want one of those cool looking modern sofas.

Either way, we need new and we need more because now when all 5 of us are in the living room, there's aren't enough laces for everyone to sit comfortably!

Winter Vacation

We generally don't go on vacation during the winter months because I am too chicken to travel if there is any possibility of snow, hahaha. A friend of mine was just talking about how she is planning a ski vacation and I gotta admit, it sounds fun!

I have never been one to want to travel down a snowy mountain on 2 sticks but I might give snow tubing a shot this year. Suddenly a winter vacation sounds nice.

I Thought I Was Going to Die

So I've been asked just how bad this 'H1N1 flu' was and I gotta say, I thought I was going to die. For me, it came on suddenly. Like I said, one minute I was looking for life insurance online (haha, that is funny to me now) and the next thing I knew, I felt kinda achy. I woke up in the middle of the night with a horrible pain in my upper back and by morning I had a fever of 102.0!

It didn't last long because I took Tamaflu. Jeff (the ex) started with similar symptoms on Tuesday night and he is STILL feeling crappy. He said today is the first day he doesn't have a fever. He didn't take Tamaflu.

Back to Normal

Well, all of us but CJ had the flu and we're all recovering. Life is getting back to normal. The kids are fighting and I'm working online, all is well. I'm also watching football and chatting with my friend Mike. He lives in Texas now but we went to high school together. He's bragging about the Plano dentist he found that is apparently awesome.

The kids and I made cookies today too. The Halloween cookies we didn't get to make over this past week because we were so sick!

H1N1 or Regular Flu?

When I say 'regular' flu - I mean, is there such a thing? Isn't it all different? Well, I have the flu but since they didn't test for it I have no idea what strain I have. Supposedly the only strain around right now is H1N1, at least that's what I heard.

I think the last time I was surfing the internet I was looking for insurance online and then that was that, that's all I remember! The good thing? I was only down for a day and a half. Even though I am still sick I feel so much better already. I wonder if I really have the flu? It started in my upper back, then a headache, a dry cough and when I coughed nothing came up, then fever and when I say fever, I mean 102 - 103, then runny nose along with chills, hot flashes and aches, every little thing hurt. Sounds like he flu, huh?

Home Business are Like Big Businesses

More and more home businesses hare growing and getting the services that big businesses have had for years, like call center services for example.

I just called some rinky-dink online store to order a gift and BAM! I got a call center rep! That was pretty damn impressive! It actually made me feel as if I was really going to get some professional service along with a great product.

Well That Sucked

Here I thought I really needed to go on a diet but in reality all I need is my life to help me lose weight. HUH? What the heck do I mean? Oh well, all the stress in my life has me visiting the bathroom every few hours, I'm sure to shit myself skinny in no time.

The dinner I was supposed to have with Cherie on the 17th barely happened. The wait for On the Border was 90 minutes so we went to Applebee' s - we were seated right away. I barely finished eating when CJ called to tell me he was having more issues - and without disclosing his personal business, let's just say I had to leave to take him to the ER.

Between him and the medical problems he's been having - which we still don't have an answer regarding exactly WHAT is going on and just this time of year in general, I am more than stressed out!

A Night Out - Much Needed

We're going to check out On the Border - it recently opened near us. We've never been there so this should be fun!

Frustration

Ever have one of those days where you just need quiet so you can concentrate and get things done? Today is one of those days for me as I am trying to help a friend with their disability appeal and I just cannot focus because my kids are driving me nuts!

These are the times I literally want to scream SHUT UP at the top of my lungs! Of course, I keep m col because it's obvious children act like their parents - no way do I want my kids running around here screaming shut up. UGH

What a Morning

What a freaking morning! It actually all started last night when I noticed Wormy had a bum leg and it went downhill from there.

So, of course I worry about the dog - have no idea what he did to it, didn't see him screw it up, didn't hear him yelp or cry. Just noticed him walking funny. It was almost 7 pm so I called the vet knowing I'd most likely need to make an appointment for the next day. The chick I talked to said 'can you do 8 am?' and I said yes, figuring she meant today.

I was awake about 4 am - just couldn't sleep. Worried about the dog and HOW MUCH MONEY this was going to cost me - ugh! I finally decided to stop tossing and turning and just get up at like 6 am - took a shower and of course, the boys woke up. Waaayyy too early for me. When they kids get up early - before I have had a sip of coffee, chaos usually ensues and that makes me grumpy. The plan was for CJ to take Livi to the bus stop and my grandmother was going to come over to be with the boys since CJ had to go to work right after getting Livi on the bus. So the morning was a whirlwind until I got out the door with the dog at 7:50 am.

I got to the vet and checked in and they told me my appointment is TOMORROW at 8 am. !!!! They don't have a doctor there on Wednesday mornings. sonofabitchwhatthefuck?%&(&^$!!!
I swear I never heard the chick I spoke to last night say THURSDAY morning at 8 am. They gave me the option of leaving him there and at some point during the day a vet would see him but I know that is expensive, it's considered 'urgent care' so I brought him home.

I was told I need to make sure he doesn't use the stairs and that he just rests. He's alert, eating and drinking but I can tell he is upset about this. He was always so playful and now he just lays around : [

Taking a Time Out

The other day (prior to being sick and on my death bed) I was browsing online looking at Grohe faucets trying to decide what I want for which sink, wen CJ mentioned we should take a time out.

I spend 95% of my days in the house. Cleaning, cooking, working, taking care of the kids and then well, trying to relax. It was a beautiful day so we decided to take a break and head to a beautiful park not far from us. Nature is beautiful and we just happened to get there to see this:

Dressing Room Mirrors

Dressing room mirrors lie! They totally make you look better than you really do! I tried on a bunch of clothes the other day and they fit and looked decent. I get home and go to put an outfit on and ewwww, I HATE IT! Doesn't look anything like it did at the store! Seriously, what the heck - guess I need to shop for fat burners instead of clothes.

Actually, I think it was just bad timing. One should never buy new clothes when they have PMS!

OhMyGawd, as if it isn't bad enough that I will be 36 in 3 days, I suddenly notice pimples on my face! What the hell?! This can't be!

Isn't this supposed to stop? Why do I suddenly feel like a teenager scrambling to find an acne treatment that works? Man, I thought by this age I'd have to start looking for wrinkle creams and stuff, not pimple cream!

CJ's Job Rocks

I know lots of people are going through hard times right now and I must say I feel so fortunate to be in such a great position - job wise. Same with CJ - he's been with the same company for over 7 years and has advanced far in the company. Great pay, great benefits, okay hours and his job gives away really cool promotional stuff too!

Family Night Out

Despite sickness looming over us, we decided to go to diner last night for Dante's birthday. Originally I was supposed to attend a Mabon Circle with my BFF Cherie and Olivia was going to come along but Livi had been sick since Thursday and so I thought it best if we didn't attend.

However, I thought a quick dinner out would be okay - we chose Red Robin because we like the patio area and as luck would have it, we were the only people out there - perfect. We had an okay meal but we got less than stellar service - guess because we were the only people outside - it was like we were forgotten about, on more than one occasion.

Happy Birthday to my baby boy, Dante! He turned 4 yesterday!

Love All Things Horses?

Every now and then I gotta give a good friend 'props' in public. My friend Nicole has a great blog called Cowgirl Up and it's filled with great information about the horses she has.

From talk about riding lessons to grooming and even all about equestrian clothing - right down to breeches and I just love reading abut it all. Of course she does have some personal posts in there, this is not an informational blog only, it's a good mix!

Going Back to School

A friend of mine, who is a stay at home mom, is really looking to go back to school but it needs to be online. She is just not able to find the time to take a few classes here and there at night. I suggested she look online for something that would benefit her.

She stumbled upon Gonzagaonline.com, which has all sorts of online opportunities to obtain an Online master degree in the field she is interested in, which is nursing.

I took a look at the school's website and I was very impressed. US News and World Report rank this school, Gonzaga University, number 3 in the West. The Princeton Review and Forbes Magazine rank Gonzaga University one of the nations best universities. I have noticed that there are many prestigious schools that are reluctant to go online because they feel that this diminishes the quality of the education. Gonzaga University proves this theory wrong!

Sure, I bought into the Disney Vacation Club but really, that is for ALL of us to enjoy! By the time he is finished modifying his car I will not even want to drive it - it will have way too much horsepower!

I'm Up and I Don't Wanna Be

I want to get up early - before anyone else does, just to have a peaceful moment before the chaos ensues. I have trouble getting up early though, even when I go to bed at a decent time (10 ish) because I am up a million times a night. Why? The kids!

Seriously, Dante whines when his blankets fall off of him until I go in and cover him. I know what you're saying, "hell no, I would not go in and do that!" Well, I believe in picking my battles and 2 minutes of being awake vs oh, 30, is much better in my eyes. he wakes me up too, when he has to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. This is much better than having to change pissy bedsheets though, so who's complaining?

Olivia was up like 3 times last night. Once, her bear was falling out of bed and needed me to help her get him (she sleeps on a top bunk) then two more times because of a bad dream. It's all Jack's fault. She loves him but every.single.time she sleeps with that thing she has nightmares, WTF?

Look, don't even say he's creepy - this kid LOVES him and has a life sized doll of him that she got in Disney World back in 2008. I mean, she has even married him and her name is now 'Olivia Skellington'. The only one who didn't wake up and need something last night was Wyatt, my youngest - go figure!

So now I need to get Livi up and ready for school and Dante up and ready for school. CJ wants to be up early because he has a lot to do today but his back is all fucked up so I don't foresee him doing to much. Take Livi to the bus stop, take Dante to pre-school. Work, wrap birthday presents, get Dante from pre-school, work, meeting for work, get Livi off the bus, make dinner, then cake and presents - we're having a little something to celebrate Dante's birthday - which is on the 19th.

I Got Cash for Gold

I've been hearing about all these places that pay cash for unwanted gold. Some of the advertisements I've seen/heard seem too good to be true so I thought I'd try it myself. I found a bracelet and my old engagement ring/wedding band so I decided to give those a try.

I decided to utilize the site cash for gold and so I filled out the form on their site and within days I received a prepaid FedEx package to ship my gold back to them in. This was an easy process. The toughest part was finding a FedEx drop box close to where I live!

As soon as they received my jewelry, I received and email with the amount of money they were willing to offer me. My offer was $46.00 - here is the breakdown:

So, the bracelet was not gold, okay - I really wasn't sure about it. I was confused though about the $46.00 offer when it states the price of gold is $983.00 - I thought they were making $983.00 and giving me $46.00, so I emailed them for clarification. They responded in a timely manner:

So, I was left needing to decide if I wanted my jewelry back or if I wanted the $46.00 - I took the $46.00 because, well, this was an 'experiment' and I didn't want those rings anyway. I suppose I could have gotten them back and then tried other places or tried to sell them at a pawn shop, etc...but the fact of the matter is, I am just too lazy to bother with that, LOL

Fall = Getting Rid of Clutter

Well, even though it isn't 'officially' Autumn yet, it sure is beginning to feel like it. This weather puts me in a 'fall cleaning' mode. Time to really give the house a serious once over and get rid of the stuff we collected over the summer months.

I am also going to go through the kids' closets and pack away the clothing that no longer fits them. Wyatt can wear a lot of Dante's old clothes but I have no one to give Wyatt's clothes to so they go to Good Will. Then it's time to shop for some new kids clothes - I need to get clothes that will last, especially for the boys since they play so rough!

Planning Another Diseny Vacation!

Oh boy, let me tell you - we just bought 320 points at Bay Lake Tower and I already booked our next Disney trip! Friday, April 30th - Saturday, May 8th! We got a 2 bedroom villa with a Magic Kingdom view!

So that is what I have been busy doing - buying, booking and planning! I am so excited! CJ, the 3 kids, my grandma and I will be driving down. Grandma is only staying until Monday, then she will fly home. My friend Cherie is coming down and CJ's mom will be there too.

I can't wait for food, rides and I really can't wait to check out the pool at BLT! Oh darn - I said 'pool' didn't I? Guess I better take a serious look into weight loss pills and what works best! I have 7 months to lose 40 pounds - ummmm...

Please Don't Text and Drive

People are told not to talk on their phone while driving unless they're using a hands free device - I say let's also include don't put on your damn make up while driving, don't eat while driving, don't have such an animated conversation with your passengers that you spend more time looking at them than the road while driving and please, teach your children to behave in the car - kids can cause such distractions!

However, the biggest NEVER is NEVER TEXT WHILE DRIVING! Oh my gawd, I watched this PSA and balled - especially when I saw the baby's eyes, big beautiful blue eyes, just staring, not blinking at all and the emergency worker says she is getting no response. My heart just sank.

Living in the Dark

Um, yea, after I got the last electric bill, we will be living in the dark! The bill was...dundunduuunnn...$250! Holy cripes! We usually have fairly high bills in the summer because of running air conditioners and fans but this is the highest I've ever seen! *passes out*

I was hoping to get a new kitchen sink this fall and I was seriously considering copper sinks because they are so lovely but man oh man, if our electric bill continues to be so high, I have no idea if we'll be able to do anymore remodeling this year!
