All this medical research I have been doing for writing projects lately has really educated me; in some way or another. I just learned that thermogenic fat burners will help you burn fat while building muscle mass. I wasn't aware something could do both at the same time - unless of course you're weight lifting.

Guess I should have learned about this long ago - maybe I would look different by now...

Have I Mentioned Disney Lately?

I am trying to get work done. I'm sitting here struggling to focus on the eye wrinkle cream reviews I need to read before writing up an article on the subject, but I can't stop thinking about our upcoming Disney vacation! We're going in 3 months!

This time I plan on spending more time at Disney's Hollywood Studios; last trip we didn't see much, which was mainly due to cranky kids!

Bay Lake Tower Resort Pool

Break out the weight loss supplements baby, I need to drop 30 pounds before we go, in THREE MONTHS! Oh wow - I just said 3 months, didn't I? It is EXACTLY 3 months until I am in Disney again with friends and family! I am so so so excited for this upcoming trip!

I still have a bunch of details to take care of and then we are all set!

Is It Spring Yet?

I think this is the coldest it's ever been this entire month! Holy gawd, it's like 1 degree outside right now! I am sitting here reading an interesting murad review and blogging, all while wrapped in my Sunggie - which by the way has a hole in it! Seriously, it came apart like 2 days after I got it! They sure don't make things like they used to, huh?

So, I just paid a $430.00 oil bill and low and behold guess what I got in the mail today? Yup - another oil bill, this time to the tune of $543.00 - where is spring?!

30 Pounds Gone Stat!

Blackheads - they are nasty! I was just whining to CJ about the pimple on my chin and I noticed another one but the new one is a blackhead! Ewwwwww...I wonder if there is a special blackheads treatment, like if blackheads need to be gotten rid of differently than 'regular' acne?

Besides my family going, one of my BFFs, Cherie, is going too! I just told her I found out Eagle Creek luggage is having a sale so she better get her stuff together - she hasn't been to Disney since she was 12! There is still so much *I* need to do as well. I definitely need a decent pair of sunglasses and comfy shoes - those 2 are MUST HAVES for sure!

Oh a vacation! I cannot wait!

Kids Today Feel Entitled

I see it with my own kids. We give to them for probably the same reason most parents give to their kids; we want our kids to have a nice life, to have things better than we did BUT where should the line be drawn?

We remodeled our basement last July. Down there we have a tv on the wall, VSmile game system, a karaoke machine (Hannah Montana of course), a Fisher Price Splatster game, a computer, a sofa, a love seat, a comfy chair, a million kids toys, games and MORE...and guess what? All they can talk about is how they want a ps3 now!

What Were They Thinking

Tell me, WHY would you own a home and then NOT have home insurance for your home? Isn't that a requirement if you have a mortgage? ow do people get away with this and WHY is it that when something bad happens and they don't have insurance it's suddenly not their fault and they are looking for handouts? That's like not having home lighting and then complaining when the sun doesn't shine! It's like working in the medical field and not wearing a lab coat - I could go on and on...

I just don't understand people sometimes!

Is Winter Over Yet

I had to take CJ to work today because I need the Honda to drive Olivia to Jeff's this evening. We got a dusting of snow last night but it wasn't too bad this morning. It was supposed to stop today so I wasn't worried but, I was sitting here surfing for baby shower decorations (yes, I am planning one AGAIN) and contemplating upgrading to Minka lighting in the upstairs hallway when I looked out the window and saw SNOW! I swear, if the roads begin to turn white I am seriously going to freak out.

I really can't wait to get to Florida. Only 3 months and 22 days! I think going in April/May is the best time - just when I am completely fed up with Winter ;]

Is Today Any Better

So it's finally 2010. I've been waiting for 2010 because 2009 was beginning to rot. I spent so much time researching things, shopping online and social networking, I actually forgot to LIVE LIFE.

It's amazing how quickly the internet can suck ya in. Right now I am here blogging on my NEW MacBook Pro (LOVE IT) and CJ is using my old MacBook checking out life insurance quotes because he swears he can find a better deal than we currently have.

So, is today any better? Hmmmm, it's pretty much just like yesterday...

Spent the Day With Michaela Conlin

This past Tuesday my mom and I spent the morning with Michaela Conlin - who plays Angela Montenegro on the tv show Bones - which airs on FOX. (I blogged back in February how we know her)

Anyway, my mom is friends with her Aunt and her dad. She was in town to visit her dad for the holidays and my mom and I got to go to her dad's house and visit with her. It was really cool - just the 4 of us sitting and chatting. She is a super nice, down to earth person.

Have you heard about this?

"An unknown producer from Uruguay, Fede Alvarez, shelled out about $300 to create a cool video of a robot invasion in Montevideo, the capitol of Uruguay. The four-minute short, "Ataque de Panico!" (Panic Attack) features ginormous (but slow-moving) weapon-wielding robots that blow stuff up.
Alvarez told the BBC, "I uploaded 'Ataque de Panico!' on a Thursday and on Monday my inbox was totally full of emails from Hollywood studios." Long story short, a bidding war ensued. The offer he pocketed: A $30 million deal with Sam "Spiderman" Raimi's Ghost House Pictures. That's a nice return on investment."

The Playlist gushed over this short film but interestingly, the majority who left comments had very few nice things to say, if at all.

I thought it was good. The beginning was pretty interesting, with the kid playing with his own robots and then suddenly seeing huge ones walking by. The shot of empty child swings moving back and forth and then the one scene where the woman let go of the baby stroller and it took off down the stairs - all great ways to have an impact on viewers - I mean it did me but maybe that is because I'm a mom.

Anyway, I'd lvoe feedback on this - what did you think?

Winter Weather in Pennsylvania

Weather in Pa is decent, for the most part. We are in a valley so there are not many hurricanes or tornadoes threatening the area and I am seriously glad for that!

However, winter sucks here. We don't get too much snow, we get that lovely 'wintry mix' and that basically consists of wet snow, freezing rain, then turning to rain - you know, slop. That is exactly what we have going on right now. We have more of a chance of being flooded out than snowed in today.

So, I was awake at 5am and of course immediately went down into our basement to make sure we didn't get water down there. Since we've remodeled the basement we have gotten water once and I hope that was the last time. Being down there reminded me we need to do maintenance on a few things, the furnace and the water softener tank. I need to be on the lookout for better water softeners than we have now, our water is a bit harsh. Hate it!

It's after 7am now, just waiting for the sun to make an appearance so I can better access the roads around here. I am guessing CJ will need to leave for work a bit early today.

Salon Franchise

Onto The Next Job

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate being a home owner? There is always something that needs to be fixed or replaced. This time it's our home lighting - we need to update it all. My dad is an electrician and he has agreed to help us but he said he won't do it for us.

This means he gives the orders and supervises while CJ and I 'do' - how fun.

Visiting New York

Can you believe CJ has never been to New York City? I really want to go, just me and him, maybe see a Broadway show or something. Last time I got to New York it wasn't to go to the city, I was actually in Syracuse to visit friends and we went to this really nice Syracuse italian restaurant - I'd love to go there again but if we can't make it there, I'd at least love to go to NYC!

I thought about doing some shopping for the holidays anf ten maybe having dinner - am I totally crazy?

The Insurance Discussion

So Jeff (the ex) and I had the whole insurance debate last night. I told him how when we got divorced I was without insurance for a while. I looked online for insurance, it was easy. Once I knew which company I wanted, I was able to look locally, all I needed was Google search. For example, if you live in North Carolina and you know you want to use Blue Cross Blue Shield just type in Blue Cross Blue Shield NC and viola - good info!

There really are so many insurance options out there - it's like car insurance shopping!

Exotic Destinations

So many of my friends take vacations to Mexico. I have never even thought about it, I mean, when I think of exotic I think of Brazil or Bali but not Mexico. Of course, my friends don't understand my affection for Disney so I guess to each their own!

I had a bit of a 'discussion' one day with one of my friends about Disney and I told her about how there are plenty of exotic places in Disney and how I LOVE staying at the Polynesian Resort - that is exotic enough for me, lol. She told me to do a quick online search for "riviera maya mexico" so I did and look what I found:

Highway Driving

Driving on the highway never used to bother me. In fact, it was my preferred method to get somewhere. You know, a straight shot and you can go fast! Yesterday though, I nearly had a heart attack. There was a convoy of huge rigs, a few of them were carrying those big stainless steel drums an I gotta admit, that made me a little nervous.

Maybe I am just getting old? I literally could not wait to get off the highway!
