The images I see...

To blog or not to blog, that is the question

noreply@blogger.com (Francis) — Thu, 30 Jun 2016 21:35:00 +0000

Was reminded the other day by the folks from Google land that I actually had a blog which largely went neglected since the advent of Google+....

Soooooo, do i start this up again or do i kill it? Where do I take this thing?

Light

neither good or bad... light is just light. What you create with it is what makes the difference

space

noreply@blogger.com (Francis) — Fri, 30 May 2014 09:41:00 +0000

The day to day clutter that fills our minds inevitably leaves no space for the creative juices to flow. It is important to maintain some space else it all becomes mechanical...

The Streets of Sydney

So what can you do with your phone camera?

noreply@blogger.com (Francis) — Tue, 09 Apr 2013 22:27:00 +0000

Phone: Iphone 4s
Apps used: Camera+, Snapseed, corel paint it now, blender

This is the original photo straight out of camera plus

Load into Snapseed, converted to black and white, applied vintage filter conert to black and white, adjust contrast, brightness, etc, play around with the different filters till you get an image you like

Load into Corel - Paint it now, apply impressionist filter. You can probably leave it as is at this point, but wanted to see if i could lessen the effect a bit

Load the image coverted to black and white in snapseed and the image from Paint It now. Blend to taste and thats it.

Not really that hard to do. The trick is really in getting an image that this type of processing would work with. More in that later :)

Strange Weather

noreply@blogger.com (Francis) — Tue, 10 Jan 2012 23:13:00 +0000

this has got to be the strangest summer we've had in Sydney, with most of december just wet and cold.

though the sun did shine through once or twice :)

Walking the streets - photo 35 of 50

noreply@blogger.com (Francis) — Wed, 26 Oct 2011 01:03:00 +0000

Last saturday I went on my first ever photo walk in Sydney organized by a group of photographers hanging out in Google+ , it turned out to be an excellent day with a bunch (about 150 of them) of wonderful people and ended in Observatory Hill with a barbeque and drinks provided by Google who also provided T-shirts and camera straps for the event.

the rest of the album is on G+ Sydney Photo Walk

there's some pretty amazing work from the others on the walk, you can view them by doing a search in G+ for #sydneyphotowalk

everyday I get on the train and like the millions of other comuters stare blankly at the wall or deep into our little magic boxes... just another blank face among the hundreds of blank faces...

is it really so hard to smile and say hello...
