Each of their products is $1.00 each. From foundation, blush, lipstick,nail polish and makeup brushes, everything is $1.00 each. Their products are good quality and great price. Me being the frugal beauty queen that I am, I usually buy the discount makeup at the dollar stores, discount maybelline mascara, cover girl foundation and eyeliners. Drug store brands are Wet-N-Wild and Jane Cosmetics. And Rimmel London has some good discount products as well. Most of these can be found at Walgreens, and most Wal-Mart and Target Stores.

Looking for ways to save money on travel.I have some frugal travel tips for you.I am planning to go on a two week vacation in the fall to Europe. Like most everyone else. I don’t have a large budget. So I looked for the cheapest ways to travel and the cheapest places to eat and sleep. The best idea is to be well prepared. Plan everything out in advance, don’t leave anything for last minute. Prices change quickly, so always book in advance. Don’t wait and think you can get a better deal.

The best ways to save money on transportation is to look for discount airline tickets. There are a lot of good websites online that buy overstock tickets from the airlines and then sell them at a discount. Same with train and rail passes. Rail passes are good for the frequent travel as their are often good for 30-60-or 90 days.

Hostels are very big in Europe and are even starting to pop up here in the states as well. Their good for college students and backpackers, and there are even some for families as well. So whether your skiing in aspen, or backpacking through the wine country, you'll have a little extra jingle in your pocket for extras.

Is Soy a food that is really good for you?

This is my question. Since recently becoming a vegetarian, I have been researching healthy foods like crazy. I have been trying to find out what foods are good for you and what foods have been packaged and advertised to make us think it is healthy. This week I will be looking at the health benefits of Soy products. We know that Soy is a good source of protein and a meat-alternative for vegetarians and vegans. But is it really good for you? Some nutrition experts say no.

In fact they are advising us not to give our babies Soy- Based formula due to the way the soy is processed because it releases a toxin when it goes through processing. And they believe that this substance gets into the packaging and contaminates the formula. This is just one issue with Soy.

As far as the health benefits of Soy, it has been advertised to be the modern cure all for our chronic diseases. By eliminating animal proteins we rid ourselves of the fat that clogs our arteries and causes heart attacks, stroke and diabetes among others. But now there is some evidence to say that Soy is not a healthy food after all. In an article on SoyOnline these chemicals are in soy based products: High levels of phytic acid, trypsin inhibitors, toxic lysinoalanine and highly carcinogenic nitrosamines are all present in soy products.

“Phytoestrogens that disrupt endocrine function and are potent antithyroid agents are present in vast quantities in soy, including the potentially devastating isoflavone Genistein. Infants exclusively fed soy-based formula have 13,000 to 22,000 times more estrogen compounds in their blood than babies fed milk-based formula, the estrogenic equivalent of at least five birth control pills per day.” Quoted from SoyOnline.com

I wouldn't say stop eating Soy, but I would encourage you to limit or suspend your use of Soy protein until more information is available.

Green energy in Europe

I would love to find a way to make my own green energy! I was reading some info on another blog about how Europe is more advanced in Green energy use. Houses there have solar and windpower, and they recycle their plastic water bottles for 25 cents each. How great! I think more people would go green if it were more affordable to the average joe or jane. Solar panels and generators are very pricey and wind power is expensive too. If someone could come up with some type of construction that is cost-efficient, fairly inexpensive to build and generates enough output to power a home, I know that more people would buy them. I know I would. I loved the idea of the solar panels when they were first popular, I just couldnt afford them and the modifications to install them.

I recently decided to officially become a vegetarian. I have been a vegetarian off and on since I was a child mainly because I had a problem chewing tough cuts of meat so I just wouldn't eat it. I love salad and veggies with dip, my favorite comfort food and late night snacks. I'm an Ovo-Lacto Vegetarian which means I eat eggs and dairy products.

I wondered how hard it would be to plan a meal around just veggies, eggs and dairy. I know how boring food gets when you eat the same things all the time. I need variety in my life and in my food.

So I was looking on Google yesterday and had an idea, many other cultures are vegetarian too so why not add some ethnic foods to my list. The people of India have some great vegetarian food and so do the Chinese and Japanese. So I spent yesterday looking up video recipes for Spicy Indian dishes and healthy Japanese vegetarian meals. I have to say that I was very pleased to find so many good recipes. I knew and Indian couple a few years ago, and the lady would be cooking and you could smell the food from outside. It smelled so good I wondered how can you make food that smells that good without any meat. Well, now I know!

If you would like to get some of these recipes just let me know, I am happy to share the wealth.

Electric Cars: The new way to go green in transportation,

I recently wrote some new articles for Associated Content in the "green living" category. One of the new articles is about the production of electric cars. Tesla Motors first major achievement was in manufacturing the Roadster. One of the first electric cars. They have recently announced they will begin production on a second: The Model S , a family sedan.
The new Model S Sedan is estimated to begin production in 2011 with deliveries to begin in 2012. The reservation fee for the Model S is $5,000. The total cost of the electric vehicle is $57,000.But since it is an all electric vehicle, it qualifies for a federal tax cut of $7,500.00 It has two trunks, one in the front and one in the rear of the vehicle.It is charged by a battery and with an upgraded battery pack can travel 300 miles on a single charge.That means a lot of savings by not having to visit the gas pump.
