this particular entry into the audio-biography got me thinking about the sum and it's parts. in certain instances the sum is greater than the parts. take 'the hazards of love' by the decemberists as an example. i have to set aside an hour to listen to that album. it's one where i can't pick just a few of my favorites songs because they lose something solo. there are also instances where the parts are so independently great the sum is muddied up. take a listen to the 'day & age' album by the killers. great songs, but it lacks that unifying quality (and the song 'human' sucks big time).

i think this is why i'm so enamored by the church. when christ is exalted in his bride there is nothing that rivals the sum or parts of her beauty. as for my wife...a beautiful woman, and because of what christ has done in both of our lives i can say that "[she] is altogether beautiful...there is no spot or blemish in [her]."

last night i dreamt that i was a contestant on american idol. the judges would bring up 5 people at a time and let them know who was moving on to the next round. when my group was up they went to a commercial, and a voice came over the loud speaker saying, "your group has been disqualified because one of you works for disney." it was explained to me that american idol does not like disney. this frustrated me and i went home and blogged about how unfair it was because i didn't work at disney.

three things to note. one) i don't watch american idol. two) it's funny that in my dream there was a huge rivalry between american idol and disney. three) it is so unfair that i can be guilty by associating with a disney employee.

I have to give a shout out to Spin for the assist on this one.

I want "Just To Be Close To You" by The Commodores played in the stands as I walk up to bat at my softball games.

If I were a wrestler, I would want "A Little Respect" by Erasure as my theme music.

If I were to film a road trip scene with me staring out the window I would pick the song "You Wish" by Nightmares On Wax.

I want to do a commercial for Joe Malesky and use the song "Devil's Dance" by Metallica.
