So I’m cutting my losses and looking forward to a fresh start! I’ll still have to deal with cleaning out & selling my old home, but my goal is to be celebrating an official start to my new life by New Years!

I arrived home from the SingleEdition.com “Live the Life You Love” event to find a BIG box from Kalorik and SingleEdition!! I’ll hold off on opening it till tomorrow when I can do a proper unboxing video, but I’m so excited to see what’s inside I may not be able to sleep! Now that I am single and getting ready to move into a new place all on my own I’m slowly becoming domesticated and I just know the items in this box are going to be a huge help in this new venture! Last month I attended the 1st in a series of 3 “Live the Life You Love” events at Saks Fifth Avenue in New Your City. The event was amazing! A women’s only event featuring panelist speaking on topics related to a single’s lifestyle.

I can not believe it’s time once again for another session! I am really looking forward to tomorrow night’s event and the topics at hand (relationships and health). I got so much out of the last session regarding finance and insurance among other topics.

As an added bonus – you get a chopping discount and access to shop after hours!! Oh, and I hear the swag bags have goodies from Babeland and Hair Care from Jonathan Products!! *swoon*

My Mac Mini has been possessed for quite a few months now. When starting up or recovering from sleep mode the screen flickers like this. Sometimes it clears right up, others it goes on for what seems like hours. Sometimes I wake in the middle of the night to it and get instant poltergeist flash backs! Up until recently everything else worked just fine, but I’ve been unable to connect to my 250 external hard drive, which is major suckage since it holds my entire digital music library!  Lovely ladies from all over NY and NJ were in attendance and dressed to the nines. I’d expect no less for an event held at the infamous Saks Fifth Avenue. I opted to ditch my cocktail attire at the last min for a pair of levis and my favorite pumps, cause I thought for sure I’d be over dressed! Oopsie.

 My journey into the city was an experience as usual. I should have known trying to find a parking spot at the local train station mid-afternoon would be a challenge, but I managed to snag a spot (hopefully not one I’ll regret when I return and find a fat parking violation).

 Just as I locked my car the train pulls into the station. Picture me in pumps sprinting across “moving” traffic in hopes they would hold the train… Just as I approach *slam* goes the door in my face! Thank gawd the guy wasn’t a total dick (as many of them have been in the past) and he opened the door to let me on. As I sat down I thought “hmmm… I wonder if this is my train”.

 After a brief transfer I arrived in Penn station at the height of the end of workday commute. Heading for a cab I decided to change course and hop the E to 53rd & 5th. A few quick stops and I was strutting my way down 5th avenue dodging tourist.

 Up to the 8th floor … The Shoe Department!! When I die and go to heaven I imagine it will look something like this *drool*

 Sweating like a pig from my journey I managed to find the back room where the “Live the Life you Love” event was residing. Greeted with cocktails and the newest shades from the channel counter I snuck to the back of the room to cool off before having to share space with anyone. I was so embarrassed and promised myself to get back to the gym on the regular!

 The panel of Experts, who you can find as regular contributors at http://singleedition.com, was composed of finance, legal, real estate and insurance advisers.

 Props to the organizers who placed a small note pad and pen in each chair along with other materials containing information on each speaker and the sponsors. Unexpectedly I nearly filled my note pad with invaluable tips from each of the panelists.

 The short of it:
- Create a “spending smarter” plan by knowing your monthly expenses, saving to spend, and learning about investment. – Make a plan for your possessions by creating a will, a living will, and a medical power of attorney and make sure someone knows where these docs are located should they ever need them, cause accident happen.
- When looking to buy a home be sure you have a strong mortgage professional, a strong attorney, and a strong real estate professional. These people should guide and educate you on your investment.
- Insure your life and your valuables! There are many many options out there and affordable options at that. Take full advantage and protect yourself.

 I wish I could have stayed to the end to enjoy some shopping and take advantage of the special discount we received, curses to NJ Transit for their non-accomodating transportation schedule!, so I grabbed my goodie bag and hit the streets.

 Can someone please explain to me why its so difficult to hail a cab on 5th avenue!?
