Leo [redux]
Val says: Leo just showed up at my brother's auto shop one day, and it was obvious that he didn't have a home, so after a while my brother brought him to his house. But they have a lot of animals already so he didn't think he could take in another. So that's where I come in!

Leo loves being around people. Even when he was at my brother's auto shop, my brother would use a loud machine and Leo would walk away while he was using it but be at his side again when he wasn't. Another cute thing about Leo is that he loves watching TV and online videos. When I'm watching YouTube, he'll lie in my lap and rest his chin on the edge of my laptop and just watch whatever I'm watching with me. It's so cute! Sometimes I'll play a video of a squirrel or something and he'll bat at my screen. Two things that Leo loves are being held like a baby and getting his nose rubbed.

Courtesy of: Val on Flickr

Encore: Sage and Ginger [redux]
Alyssa says: I always adopted one kitten at a time growing up, but since we got Sage and Ginger I will always adopt in pairs in the future. When we went to pick them out from their litter of four, we knew right away that they were the ones. Sage was so brave and outgoing, and Ginger was such a beauty and so sweet. I can't possibly capture their cuteness in words. We are endlessly amused by their antics, and the sound of two purring kittens curled up on my lap is one of the sweetest sounds I have ever heard. They chase each other around the apartment, play adorable games, lead each other on climbing expeditions, and cuddle up with each other to nap. At first, Ginger followed Sage around and acted like the little sister. After she was no longer afraid of us, she took on the roll of big sister. She likes to instigate little kitten wars, and cleans her brother while he's napping. Having two kittens is so rewarding, and I don't think we will ever stop saying, "Awww..."

He was covered with white paint (which I had to cut off with tiny scissors) and like Misty he had really bad upper respiratory infection. After a vet bill and two weeks of TLC, he was much better. Ginger is now my mom's pet. He sits on her lap and sucks on her hand -- I think it's left over from his lost kittenhood. He looks like a wise old man kitty and he has such a sweet personality.

When Bailey had kittens, she had three red boys and three grey/brown females. They were a great, great, great happy family of six plus mom. They played all the time together, and therefore it was very hard to split them up. We only had the boys for two months, then the inevitable separation process began. By that time they were still sort of indistinguishable, so I can't tell much characterwise about the red male trio. We found homes for all three of them and they are now called Puk, Rambo, and Zero. Puk is now living on a farm, Rambo is living with a friend, and Zero is living with my sister-in-law.

Like Rosa, he was one of the sweetest kittens I've ever cared for. We dropped them off at the shelter a few days before Christmas and they got adopted the same day!

My kids had to choose them themselves and named them Bibbie, the champagne colour, and BowBow, the ginger. I wasn't sure how they managed to get such names, but I guess they could spell them easily at that time for they only three and four years old.

Bibbie and BowBow were a bit timid when they came first time, hiding under the bed and behind the curtains. But it wasn't for long! They started enjoying our company, playing as much as it is fun. They even thought it was okay to climb up the curtains! They were good kittens, knew where to go for litter, and weren't fussy. They were active and healthy. And boy, weren't those teeth sharp!

First time we let them out, it was sunny in New Zealand. They had to sniff the air, lurking from the open door, and then followed us to the garden. They loved it! They just loved climbing trees! (Perhaps, they don't think they are curtains? Hehehe…) It wasn't a difficult job raising them. They have such lovely natures and are cuddly, playful, and easy.

Courtesy of: Arfi Binsted

He’s a cross tabby/Bengal and is VERY energetic. He gets his nose into everything and seems afraid of nothing -- loves to lie in ambush for the other cats, who are getting a bit fed up with it! Mind you, he’s not too sure about the rabbit. He prowls the back gardens here in Portsmouth, UK, strutting with his tail always up and slightly bow-legged. He’s a real character and we love him to bits (not so much when he’s miaowing for food at dawn though). He eats everything he can, is very interested in the kitchen garbage bin and we have to remember to put the lavatory lid down at night.
Courtesy of: David Bryson
