The Montreal-based entertainment gurus behind Cirque du Soleil have landed in Toronto to present their latest fantastical creation, entitled OVO. Portuguese for "egg", the show evolves around a colourful ecosystem literally crawling with life and the usual exceptionally outfitted performers. Directed by renowned Brazilian choreographer and dancer Deborah Colker, the plot revolves around an enigmatic egg that appears in the middle of the insects' energy-filled environment. Set Designer Gringo Cardia was inspired by the concept of transformation, and set out to interpret nature through playing with scale so that those who entered the big top might see the world through the eyes of the insects that crawl at their feet. Luxury Bond Street leather and stationary house Smythson is at it again with another cool kid collaboration with their second UK it boy (their first included swank note cards courtesy of Giles Deacon). The London-based designer Erdem Moralioglu, known for his delicate colour and prints, has swished his way across a limited edition set of diaries and notebooks with fashion sketches and his signature silk floral prints. This isn't the first posh project the Montreal-born designer has taken on-- he recently collaborated with fellow luxe luggage label GlobeTrotter.
