After nine years of writing this little blog of ours, we’re sad to say that we’re closing The Buzz down so that we can focus our attention on our growing Instagram following.  We’ve seen amazing growth and are excited to add more beauty and content there.  If you’re not following us already, please click this link.  From our family to yours, have a Happy 2019!

Summertime and the living was easy….  rosé flowed like a river to the sea and our lives were filled with songs that made us feel good.  Now that we’re past Labor Day, it may be time to say farewell to our beloved cocktail fare and roséwave playlist.  But we’re not waving goodbye to rosé-colored Instagram posts just yet so here are some of our favorites!

While many are wondering whether the great minds at British Vogue and US Vogue got together to plan their September issues, we’re more interested in finding out who wore the flowers best!  Both editors chose two of the most influential female pop stars as models and bedecked their heads with an abundance of flowers, but while Rihanna’s fashion spread (styled by Edward Enninful) is more traditional in its style, Beyoncé’s shoot is decidedly romantic.

Beyoncé has appeared before on the cover of Vogue but this time she was given free reign over the issue and made history by choosing 23-year-old black photographer Tyler Mitchell.  Set against the backdrop of an English country home, Mitchell’s images capture a soft, dreamy aesthetic that is a departure from the usual September vibe.

Tiptoe Through the Topiaries

It’s raining…  Again!  We had over 10 days and 4 inches of rain in July and the storms just keep coming.  So instead of hanging out in our gardens, we’re getting our green fix on Instagram.

Anouska Hempel‘s feed had us at “hedge” and it’s completely enchanting.  The striking gardens and landscapes she’s designed for homes and hotels the world over are so lush, layered and lovely, they literally take your breath away.  It was hard not to ooh and aah over every image.

A fusion of east meets west pervades Anouska’s design aesthetic whether it is classical or contemporary in feel.  And her landscapes use the exquisite Japanese layering of box trees, bays, hornbeams and myrtle, to create space and texture.
