Storm 2 Free Apps: Google Maps Updated!

The previous version of Google Maps worked quite well on the Blackberry Storm with OS5.0, however, it was not that smooth as in the original Storm. Very luckily, Google is super fast in updating all their applications to work nicely with just released devices. The Storm2 is not an exception! Google Maps has been slightly modified so it works better with the OS5.0 of the Blackberry Storm2.

I know the Storm2 has Blackberry Maps, and the Verizon Storm2 has VZW Navigator, but, Google Maps is just awesome. Google Maps is really fast, and the most useful thing is that it always has a result for any crazy thing one could look for. Sometimes alternatives, don’t have all the addresses. But by far, my favorite feature of Google Maps is how it locates you immediately over the map without a GPS lock, then provides local results and you can call directly a business by pressing the green button, is really useful. To get Google Maps for your Storm2 just head to google, make sure its the mobile version, then click on ”more” and then select ”Maps” just follow the installation process and you are done!

Telus Storm2: Telus To Bring Storm2 To Canada

The Storm2 went live in the U.S.A with Verizon and Vodafone in Europe, but what about Canada? Nothing is still official, at this point, no Canadian carrier has officially announced a Blackberry Storm2 for their network. However, there are some interesting rumors pointing that in fact there will be a Storm2 in Canada hopefully very soon. Some images have leaked from the Telus Storm2. The images point that there will be a Storm2 in the Canadian network. Images are not official, but they look pretty legitimate. Nothing is known, the date is still a mystery as well as the price.

The release date for the Telus Storm2 should be before holiday season, that is pretty logical since Telus will sure want to ride this shopping wave. Stay tuned for more info on the Telus 9550 Storm2!

Mobile devices are the perfect gadgets to read news on. We have them all day with us available in our pockets. News happen suddenly, one second to another, and a mobile device like the Storm2 is just perfect to stay tuned with the happenings around the world, while on-the-go.

Here we already covered some launchers for popular news sites like Fox News and CNN, but those only lead to the website which of course offers limited functionality. The AP (Associated Press) has its own client. The AP News client for the Blackberry Storm2 and Storm is really amazing, no other words to describe it. The client has every category you could imagine, it is updated constantly throughout the day and is a pleasure to use. The cool thing about the AP app is that it also offers Photo Reportages. All in the same application. The AP News app is really well organized and just one of the most useful applications one can have in the Storm2.

Its almost a week since the Verizon Blackberry Storm2 launched with Verizon in the U.S.A. This time, unlike the first time, the supply of Storm2 devices was far greater than when the original Storm was launched. Remember the riots from last year?

Anyway, some days ago, Verizon started advertising their Storm2 on national TV with a really well looking ad:

The ad is really cool, well thought and purposeful. But, always ads show more than what a device can do. Basically our question is, what do you think about the Storm2? What are your impressions on the Verizon Storm2? The device so far feels well designed, major problems from the original Storm were addressed and not many complaints are surfacing unlike with the original Storm. Any problems you are experiencing?

Verizon Storm 2 Review: The Storm 2 Gets Video Reviewed!

The Blackberry Storm2 from Verizon went live a few days ago, and although there is not as much hype as with the original Storm, I have seen some pretty cool ads advertising it as ”The perfect Storm”. But, is it the perfect Storm? The original Storm had a few problems, I am not going to mention them again, I am sure everyone knows them by now.

With the Storm2, RIM is trying to do it right. They didn’t change the design or launched a new Storm, they were more prudent and just recycled the old Storm: they added a newer 5.0 software, the screen was fixed and other little details like buttons were changed. The Storm2 can look much like the original Storm, but the little improvements make the whole phone better, the Storm2 offers a better experience. Watch the review below!

But, this Storm launching was different, too different. The hype produced by the original Storm was double the hype from the Storm2. The Storm2 from Verizon just went silently live without much hype. In our opinion, two things could have happened. First, is that the Motorola Droid is being advertised by Verizon a lot more and shadowed the Storm2. But what is a bit more logical, is that the Storm2 was silently launched with almost identical design to the original Storm to just replace the original one silently. That way, RIM can finally get it right with the Storm.
