A3029 Underpass

Ten minutes from where I live, the A3029 crosses the river Avon.There's a pedestrian walkway beneath part of this crossing, where BMX tracks, graffiti and cycle routes out towards the Clifton Suspension Bridge exist. There's a point on the flyover where two large parts of the structure are more roughly joined such that when vehicles pass a rhythmic sound is produced.
I wanted to get this sound captured.

So, quite a lot has happened to over the last few months. Sadly though not as much recording as I'd like. I now find myself living in Bristol, which has already proven to have been a fantastic move, not least because I now have a new environment on my doorstep to explore and capture sounds from.

Apologies for the lack of recent updates, but I can assure you that I'll be relishing new opportunities for sound exploration in Bristol and sharing the results here!

I have recently been experimenting with the service that Soundcloud provides, and have decided to revisit my favourite series of recordings by presenting them in a cool Soundcloud player. I made these recordings in Japan almost exactly 2 years ago. We visited Tokyo, Kyoto and some of the surrounding areas. It was a trip I'll never forget, and listening to these recordings just transports me right back.

KR-3 - Hypnagogic Pop / Glo-fo / chillwave / psych remix experiment

I've been listening to some Hypnagogic Pop compilations recently. There seems to be divided opinions over the legitimacy of this new 'genre', being a term first used by journalist David Keenan in The Wire magazine. Regardless of the many labels also associated with this fairly loose 'scene' (glo-fi, and chillwave for example), I like the general sound of such artists.

Among some of the stuff I've been listening to has been a number of tracks sampling and remixing 80's pop tunes. I've given this a go myself...
