For those of you who don’t know, a paradox is a statement that seems to contradict itself, however it actually expresses a valid truth or principle. In the bible, there are many examples of Jesus using this device to convey fundamental truths, specifically here in Mark chapter 10. If you can, please open up your bibles to Matthew chapter 12, & verse 43. Pastor Allan’s message for the day is titled, “Jesus Fixing Problems.” Everyone has at one time or another gone through some difficulties in life, but the good news is that Jesus is a problem solver. Here, Pastor Allan McCracken will be teaching us some practical ways on How to be Happy, as demonstrated by Joseph. If you read the account in Genesis, you will find that Joseph was never a complainer, nor was he ever bitter despite the circumstances in his life. He was sold into slavery as a child. He was falsely accused of raping a woman, & he was falsely imprisoned for many years. The truth is, that by the world’s standards, Joseph deserved to be an angry individual, but praise be to God, that he trusted the Lord. Through the Lord, Joseph was able to be happy in every situation. So, please stay tuned as Pastor Allan teaches us How to be Happy.

www.thebiblestands.net

The Bible Stands #18 - "What Paul Did When Trouble Came"

The Bible Stands #18 - "What Paul Did When Trouble Came"

Today, Pastor Allan will be teaching us how to handle the troubles in our life. This message is based off of the testimony of the Apostle Paul, in a practical message titled, “What Paul Did When Trouble Came.” Acts chapter 27 & verse 14 tells us about a great storm that Paul went through while he was a prisoner on a ship bound for Rome. Today’s program will be digging deeply into how Paul handled this major obstacle in his life & how we can use these principles to navigate through the storms in our own lives. If you can, please open up your bibles to the Gospel of John, chpt. 20, & starting at verse 19. Today’s message begins with the account of the Apostle Thomas & his skepticism of the risen Christ. Thomas is most famous for being a “doubter”, but you see, God welcomes the skeptic, or doubter, to bring forth their questions. There is however, a distinction between doubters. Some doubt because they don’t really want to know the truth, & then there are those who are honestly seeking answers to their questions. Those skeptics that are honest & genuine are welcomed by the Lord because reasonable answers exist for those who are sincere. So please stay with us as Pastor Allan gets underway.

www.thebiblestands.net

The Bible Stands #16 - "I am a Bible Believer for Good Reasons"

The Bible Stands #16 - "I am a Bible Believer for Good Reasons"

For today’s message, Pastor Allan will be teaching us how we can be Bible believers based on historical evidence. The title for this sermon is, “I am a Bible Believer for Good Reasons.” How would you respond if someone told you that the bible wasn’t the Word of God? What if they said the Bible wasn’t trustworthy or that it was simply written by men & not of God? This message is about “Facing the Giants” in our lives. All Christians battle against the subtle & ever present giants of this world, trying to turn our minds & eyes away from the Lord. Though we may get the victory on occasion, the giants have a way of coming back. We must watch & pray because we never know when another giant is on the horizon. To begin, please open your bible to the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 20. As we all know, the conduct of society is generally in contradiction to the Word of God. Unfortunately, there are too many Christians behaving in the same way. The Bible says that we are to be set apart from the world in all that we say, think, & do & not be conformed to it. So please stay tuned as Pastor Allan teaches us how to be separated from the world.

www.thebiblestands.net

The Bible Stands #11 - "Lessons from a Church in Greece"

The Bible Stands #11 - "Lessons from a Church in Greece"

Today, Pastor Allan will be teaching us a few lessons from a church in Greece. To begin please open your bibles to the book of Acts, chpt 18 & verse 1. Here we read about the Apostle Paul coming to the city of Corinth. This large & prosperous town was being ruled by immorality & idolatry, with it seeping into the church that Paul had started there. To correct these problems, Paul wrote a letter to the Corinthian Christians discussing spiritual matters, like speaking in tongues & the rampant degradation of the city. So stay tuned as Pastor Allan further explores these lessons from the Apostle Paul.

www.thebiblestands.net

The Bible Stands #10 - "Fruits of Repentance"

The Bible Stands #10 - "Fruits of Repentance"

Today, Pastor Allan will teach us about the fruits of repentance. Repentance consists of a true sense of one's own guilt and sinfulness; turning from it to God; and seeking to live a holy life by walking with Him. Repentance is not just feeling sorry or remorseful, but being so troubled in your own heart that you begin to live by God’s standards, according to His Word. These fruits of repentance are visible ways that demonstrate that a person has actually changed. So please open your bibles to Luke, chapter 13 & get ready as Pastor Allan teaches us from God’s Word.

www.thebiblestands.net

The Bible Stands #9 - "Understanding God"

The Bible Stands #9 - "Understanding God"

Today, Pastor Allan will teach us some ways in which we can understand God by reading Psalm 103 & verses 13 & 14. There are many influences in the world today that shape our views & opinions, especially when it comes to the nature of God. If you pay attention to popular culture, or the media at large, then you will undoubtedly get a distorted view of who God truly is. The good news, however, is the fact that God has written a book that teaches us the truth about Him. This book is the Holy Bible & it is the final word. So keep your dial set as Pastor Allan helps us to better understand the one true God.

www.thebiblestands.net

The Bible Stands #8 - "Jesus Does it All"

The Bible Stands #8 - "Jesus Does it All"

Today, Pastor Allan will teach us how Jesus does it all.
