And hello Monday. What a day! Busy 9 hour day at work gardening and then home to cook dinner (tofu and veggies in tomato sauce) and then off to the gym, back, eat dinner, do dishes and then eat dairy free choc ice cream while writing this blog post! Woo hoo....and soon to bed to read my book! But first I wanted to share the new print that I am doing. I've only just started so there isn't to much to see as well as I am trying new techniques so it may not be so successful to start with! We will have to wait and see! But here is what it is looking like and the little sketch I have done as well.

and this last one is just a sketch to see how I want the colours on the whale to look

It's all a work in progress at the moment. It's always lovely to start a new print and the excitement of how it's going to turn out (although it can then continue to give nothing but grief but then that can be what creating is like sometimes!).

Woo! It's a boom box! Rad hey! I'm kinda loving it which is slightly annoying of me as I did it but it can be so rare to be totally keen on something you have created especially as I can be pretty hard on my own work. Anyway, what do you all think?

Lastly, I'm part of this years Target 168 which is organised through the Sticky Institute. Basically you have to create a Zine in 168 hours (1 week) and it has to include a particular thing. I'll keep you posted as to how I go and then have my Zine up on etsy for all to purchase (if one feels they would like!). I thought I would do it as I keep threatening to start making zines again and never do it....this way I have something to work towards and then hopefully get the zine creating bug and never turn back...hhmmmm, lets see how it goes shall we!

As well as being a Gardener and working in a bookstore I am one of the weekend supervisors of the Chickens at Ceres Community Environment Park as well as being a volunteer a couple of days during the week. This means that at first light I tottle off to Ceres and let the Ladies out, change their water, clean out the laying boxes, feed them, collect and clean any eggs as well as rake out their house. It's a lot but I totally love it! And at night, I tuck them in and again collect and clean any eggs. I started doing this about 6 months back and find it simply lovely to do.

Ceres is a not-for-profit environment and education centre as well as being an Urban farm. There are many things that happen at Ceres including a Permaculture and Bushfood Nursery and Organic food shop, markets and a cafe. As well as this there are always interesting and exciting events to go to as well as classes to attend. It's totally rad! And, if you live in Melbourne and haven't been yet then head there this weekend (I think Sunday might be the Vegan Victory Bike Ride!). Anyway, if you want more info click HERE!

Things just always seem so crazy for me that I just can never stay on top of everything that I want....ever feel like that?! All the time! So, as I begin the never ending attempt to be on top of my life, including my blog, etsy store and uni (plus printing, painting and readings!) I'm starting with the updating of this here blog, making it look swish-o and attempting to fall back in love with it so much that you will get sick of the number of posts I post each week (nah, how could you get sick of my boring babble?!) So, lets begin!

As you maybe aware Katherine and Punky are getting ourselves back onto etsy with new jewellery and hopefully some zines and bits and pieces. I've started creating my jewellery using wood, all handmade by myself and handpainted, and once all my stuff is up plan to have a re-opening sale! Woo hoo! I'm also hoping to start some giveaways as well as other exciting things. I'm really wanting Katherine and Punky to be something super cool and different. To give you an idea of what I'm making check these babies out....

We are also offering custom pieces so if there is an animal, or word you wish to have on your body in jewellery form send me an email and I will design it for you. So easy!

In other exciting news, we again have another new addition to our family. Introducing the ever cute

Holy smokes is that not a cute little kitten! He has been super good already and Enid and him are starting to really get along (although Enid does like to take a swipe here and there!)

Melbourne has been super duper hot lately and today is really windy. I've been trying to get the garden looking wiz bang and it's starting to get there.

Starting to look fuller and fuller everyday. Plus I've been getting heaps of plants from work so things are changing all the time!

Anyway, must be off to update my flickr page and get this blog looking smashing! Hope your all still with me and looking forward to hearing from you all!

And I'm back! Woo hoo! We have new internet that is super duper fast and I finally feel organised in this crazy world! So....lets not waste time and get on with whats been happening!

Sam and I got married! We decided to do it at the Fitzroy Lawn Bowls club round the corner from us and basically just got all our close mates to come and party with us. We had a kick arse band play call The Rechords and had a generally swell time.....some photos of the casual affair!

We all danced down the isle so that's why look blurry.....because we are having mad boogy time! We didn't have a professional photographer so that's why everything just looks very normal....and it was! Plus we just wanted our friends to take the photos. We didn't want to do something that was going to be stressful or where our mates had to dress up....we wanted everyone to feel comfortable and just have a rad time! And we all did!

I realised the other day that I have not introduced everyone to the new lady in the house.....so without further ado.....meet Roberta!

And the only nice one I got of her! Ha....but what a bottom! Ok....no without further ado.....Roberta!

Oh my, how can one rabbit be so beautiful. Oh, and I was at my parents place the other day and found Darcy having time with her fishy friend!

Last for todays post before I have to head out and get things done....Last night we went to a Fringe Festival show called Eager To Please, and it was AMAZING. A show with only women doing amazing circus acts while tackling certain women's issues.....what more could you want! Well, what a time it has been. I got married, then went on a honeymoon. Came back and failed an exam and found out I need to spend about $2000 on surgery for Enids leg. Oh, and then my car got stolen. Oh dear....what a time. So you can imagine why I haven't been in touch with the blog world. I'm trying so hard to get everything back on track. It's hard. I have heaps of new photos to share, plus a new family member to introduce to you all! But I will wait until I am at home and can put photos up. So, as you can see, life has been super duper busy and I will report with photos and the like when I get home.

So I lied the other time I said I was going to post after work...I'm sorry. It's been so hard trying to get on top of things. Lots of things have been happening and I'm finding it hard to keep up with my blogging, which is a shame as I've had this little lovely for so long. I think it is because I just don't get onto the computer that much. Plus, I was having trouble with flickr so that stopped me from adding new photos so then I didn't blog! Oh dear, there are just so many excuses! I also stopped taking my camera out and about with me so I lost inspiration. But, I've been getting back online lately and checking out new blogs that my sister emails me to look at and I have to say, I'm starting to get inspired again. I'm going to try and revamp my blog a little so it feels new and exciting and then I'm going to get back into it. I'm sorry, this post is turning into be peptalking myself isn't it!!?? Oh my, I have not blogged in ages and this one is gonna be a little short as well. Things are just crazy crazy in my life at the moment and my poor blog is the one to suffer. But, I'll give a quick update and then it's back to it for me! In first exciting news Sam asked me to marry him and I said yes! Woo! We are actually planning on having the wedding sooner rather than later for Family reasons and such so we have been busy getting stuff organised and searching out places to have the party! It's not going to be traditional at all, and the ceremony is only going to have our immediate family and then afterwards we will have our friends and everyone get together for a party! Fun!

Uni is busy at the moment because of exams, although I only have one I did have assignments due and the like. Plus, work as well so I can make money to pay the rent and feed Enid and Seymour (oh, and ourselves!). I'm also volunteering for Sustainable Gardening Australia (check out their website HERE) on organising their garden open day. Things have just started there but there have been emails to write and gardens to find!

And once all of that is done I need me time which is reading (I'm currently reading Starter For Ten by David Nicholls and if you haven't read it do, as it is too funny for words!) and going to the gym and gardening....oh and playing with Enid and Seymour! Blah. I'm tired just writing it all.

However, I do pride myself on managing to fit as much in in one day as possible (my mantra is a quote from Empire Records..."There are 24 usable hours in every day, thank you") so I really should be making time for this poor blog here. And, it's a good time to get this going as I'm about to be on uni holidays for 6 weeks.....WOO HOO! So, blogging world.....I'm kinda back!

It's been starting to get colder and colder here in Melbourne and now that day light savings has finished it is getting dark much earlier (which I do kinda like as I quite enjoy winter!), However, with the coldness comes hard to get out of bed syndrome which is something I'm struggling with at the moment! But, once I'm up and at it there is lots to be done.....like going to Heidi Museum of Modern Art! Woo hoo!

Danielle, Clare and myself tottled off to the wonderful Heidi to see the Mirka Mora exhibition and to have a picnic (which is kind of a must if you are going to Heidi). The Mirka exhibition was good, not the best one of hers that I have seen, although I did love seeing more of her toys that she has made. Plus, she had painted the windows of Heidi 1, which looked great!

She really is such a unique artist. I have to say though, I really loved the Colour Bazaar exhibition which featured 9 contemporary artists all creating different types of colourful work. This was my favourite

It was so amazing! It was quite large and the colours were so bright and the piece so beautifully made. I wished I could have taken it home! If you can go and see it. To find out more click HERE!

We had a lovely picnic, surrounded by the beautiful grounds of Heidi. While it was a little overcast it was still warm enough for it to be pleasant.

Oh, how lovely! We ate dip and biscuits and had pasta salad and ginger beer. What a feast!

Speaking of feasts I made stuffed peppers the other day. It was the first time I had ever made them and I was quite happy with the result.

Spectacular if you ask me! Anyway, that's the fun filled time I am having at the moment. I've been working on a pretty sweet project for uni where we have to make a herbarium....I'll have some photos up of that in the next day or so.

Oh my I just get so angry with computers sometimes. My flickr account isn't working again and I've about had enough of it. Anyone know of another photo hosting site that's just as good (or better because it actually works all the time?!). Anyway, that was just a quick bitch about computers, now onto the fun stuff!

My sister and I went and saw Hairspray the Musical again (second time) and it was just as amazing as the first time! If your in Melbourne you must go and see it as it is brilliant. Plus it has Jack from So You Think You Can Dance in it! So good! Here are some photos I found on the Hairspray website.

Seriously, my cheeks got so sore from smiling for so long!! Great fun. We also tottled off to the comedy festival the other week to see Francesca Martinez, who's show was great. Not only was it super funny it was also wonderful hearing her talk about her life with cerebral palsy. She calls herself the "wobbly comedian"! Love it. Her show was called "What the **** is normal?". Man, I love the comedy festival.

Having a lovely little break from uni as we have a week off over Easter. I worked over the public holidays to get a little extra money and am now having 4 days off (which is nice). I've started painting a mannequin which will then have a plant coming out of the top of her head! It's just going to be a simple grass that will have a nice dull colour so it doesn't take away from her body paint! Check her out!

I'm trying to do body paint like the use to do on lovely ladies in the 70's. So far I'm pretty pleased with her, plus really enjoying doing some painting simply for myself. I'll keep posting updates of how she is looking!

Lastly, I was so happy the other day when I was in the garden as I noticed my first lady bug for the year....hopefully she will get straight to work of eating all the nasty pests that have been having a right go at my veggies! Go little ladybug!

Oh, they are such lovely creatures! As you can see from the photo some slug had a good go at my spinach.....I threw him over the fence when I found him!

Well, I hope everyone had a lovely Easter. May will see Katherine and Punky with a new look store (which will be slow in the making!) plus our first ever giveaway!

The other week my sister and I headed off to the Famous Spiegeltent to see the opening night of Cantina, a burlesque/circus that had had us excited for weeks before the show! I always love going to the Spiegeltent, and every year see so many amazing things there. I was particularly impressed with the cool Tram Bar that was situated next to the tent.....how rad is this.....

You would think that seeing as though I catch the tram pretty much everyday I wouldn't find this so impressive....but I did! Ha!

The show was amazing! As perusual, the spiegeltent was looking wonderful in all it's colourful glory, and inside was much the same as well.

I love all the lights! The show had made this amazing old style radio that ran along a wire above the middle of the stage. I tried to get photos of this but the lighting and darkness just took over (bitch!). However! I have managed to lighten one of the photos so while it's not the greatest quality you do get to see what I'm talking about!

Just lovely!

I have some sweet little photos of some of my garden, which is really the only other thing I am getting time to do outside of work and uni! Things are growingggggggg!

Splendid! Anyway, that's me done today. I haven't been feeling great and slept til 3pm, although I'm still tired and my throat is still feeling horribly sore.....hello cold weather and snotty noses!

Uni is going really well, although I am finding it hard at times to get work and study done....also why I haven't been in the blog world lately. Still trying to get that routine going! I have, however, finished my latest print.....

I'm really hoping to get my drawing, printing and painting going and also hoping to have some zines and stuff on Etsy in the next couple of months.

Oh boy! I'm trying to get myself into a routine so that I can get jewellery and printing done as well as study and blogging! So please bare with me for a little bit as I may neglect my lovely blog in order to get my life in a well working order! Anyway, I am here right now and.....I had my first week of uni the other week and it totally blew my mind! It's been so long since I have been studying that I was so overwhelmed at all the note taking I started to day dream.....oooppsss! I'll get better! But, I was very happy with the sounds of my subjects and have been trying to get my first essay off and running...AAHHH! Enough on that.....lets have a little bit of a photo fun moment as I haven't posted for a bit.

Fun at Woodend! My Sisters friend and her family had a mini festival in their backyard (farm) which we went to. It was super fun although the rain beat me eventually!

Some photos taken at the Sydney Road Festival. It was a perfect day for it and while the actually festival was kinda same old same old we did have a good time at the Retreat watching bands and drinking beer.

Oh, and I know this is only a short post but I must go to bed to read my book that I have to review for work....but I will leave you with this wonderful kids book that you must go to your local bookshop and look at (and then buy as it is so lovely).....

So, we are going to be at a new market in March. Very exciting. It has been a super long time since I have bought a vinyl toy online but I have been inspired once more through my reunited love with Toy Break. I use to watch Toy Break years and years ago and stop getting their podcasts for some unknown reason....but, as I was wondering along the other day thinking about toys I realised that the best way to keep in touch with the wonderful toy world was through Toy Break. So, as I've just finished watching the lastest episode I just had to buy this little guy ( well, actually he's HUGE!). Check this out!

I got into my Horticulture course at University! Woo Hoo! I start in 2 weeks....a little nervous about studying again but I'm sure it's going to be super great and really interesting. Yay! I'm a student again (well, only a part time student...but a student none the less!).

Last weekend was our friends Anton and Hanna's wedding. It was a super lovely weekend. We camped for 2 nights and drank lots of beer that Anton had brewed and we finally got to do the wedding dance that we had choreographed to Beyonce's Crazy In Love.....so much fun! Some photos!

I've been busy starting my Hand Painted Moleskine Journal range. The first 4 are up now on etsy! Super cute and a perfect size for either your handbag or jeans pocket! Here is a little sample of what they are like.

I had my second Rose Street Market stall....sorry, I didn't get a post in early enough but I'll post soon all the up coming dates for the market. The market went really really well this month. I had good sales and again got lots more emails on the mailing list. Really having a blast at the moment with Katherine and Punky!

Lastly, I made this hula hoop necklace for my sister (she is a hula hooper).

Well, as usual I have been busy busy doing all sorts of different things. I've got new projects on the go that should be up and running on my Etsy store in the next month...some starting probably earlier than that. I'm slowly working on my Etsy store, redoing photos and tags, plus Katherine and Punky will be having their first sale very soon.....Keep checking back for details. We also have 2 new products available....

Very exciting....more new products will be being added every couple of days (hopefully!)

We will also be back at the Rose Street Market on Feb 20th....I will remind again closer to the date but for now mark it in and come say hi!

The other day I went and visited my friend Mel and got to meet her new Chickens....they are way to cute for words.....check these ladies out! I think we spent most of our time just watching them!

And....I've been back printing.....Yay! I'm working on my toucan series. This is the latest print in progress....never looks like much when it's going but hopefully all will work out just fine. I'm hoping to have a series done by the end of the year to hopefully exhibit somewhere. Still trying to work that one out!

Lastly....it was a nice cool evening the other day (finally) and perfect soup weather so I made the most deeeelllllliiiiisssshhhhh veggie soup. Some pictures!

And just a quick Enid update. She got desexed yesterday and the vet said that she would probably just sleep and not want to eat much after she got home....well....this was the total opposite to what Enid ended up doing....We couldn't stop her from running around like a nut or jumping on things (I was worried she would pull her stitches) and she just wouldn't stop eating! Crazy lady! Here are some photos...just coz!

Oh, it has been so hot here in Melbourne at the moment I simply have not felt like doing anything other than lying on my bed reading my book with the fan on me and dozing off at all hours of the day...Hence the lack of updating. But for now I will update on bits and pieces that are going on in the world of Katherine and Punky.

The market stall! The market went well....it was super duper hot so sales were down all over the market, however I was pleased with the way it went. I have confirmed dates for the next couple of months for when I will be there which I will have listed soon. Thanks to everyone who came and said a hello to us....and for the overwhelming number of you who joined our mailing list. Don't forget that you can do that via the button on the right side bar on our blog as well! But for now....photos!

In other news I have applied to go back to Uni to do a Horticulture course. I find out around the 21st of Feb if I have been accepted. Something a little exciting there as I have always said I would never go back to study! Speaking of Horticulture, the garden is coming along nicely. As it has been so hot the succulents are going crazy yet everything else is having a little stand still!

We have also done our veggie boxes and our herbs are going crazy and are ready to be moved into bigger boxes....lovely!

Oh dear, I forgot to blog yesterday. Well, actually, I didn't forget I got onto the computer to do it and then got sidetracked trying to work out some html thing which ended up taking way to long and with no success.....that often happens with me and html attempts!

Anyway! This Sunday is the.....

Very exciting. Hoping this one goes better than the last.....but I just have to keep trying and see how we go!! Bit nervous this time but looking forward to it. Been very busy creating new and old jewellery.....in the next couple of days there will be a big update of my Etsy store! Working heaps on the new photos as well as some new ideas that are starting to happen! Woo Hoo!

I've got some new drawings that will become necklaces....soon to be added to my etsy store.....some sneak peaks.....

The top is a pelican skull and the bottom an owl skull. I'm currently working on a whole bird skull range.

In other news.....
I had success in the kitchen the other day! I made the best pie I have ever made! Broccoli, sun dried tomato's, feta and leak pie.....some lovely photos of the result!

It also tasted really good as well! Which is a plus!

I have started a mailing list as well and sent out my first newsletter. The newsletter will focus on all sorts of Katherine and Punky news plus exclusive giveaways and promotions for my store. Sadly little chirpy died last night during the night. I'm super sad but glad that I gave it the best go. I had a little cry and I'm going to make a little grave for her when I get home from work. Oh well. Cute little thing did her best. See you all later.

Happy New Year everyone! Sam and I are back from our little holiday in Daylesford. It was so lovely....very hot. 40 degrees one day....getting hotter and hotter now. The place we stayed in was lovely....we had champagne waiting for us when we arrived and a lovely spa to relax in. Sam was totally bummed though as the house looked over a skate park and he didn't bring his board with him (that thing usually comes everywhere when we go away!) But, apart from that we swam in the lake, drank and ate at the pub, read our books and walked around. It was lovely.....New Years Eve was quiet (just how I like it!). We had dinner early and watched the Simpsons Movie!! Some photos of our little trip.....of course!

And now we are in 2011 and I really need to be organised this year. I'm starting my printing again each week, which is great.....so lots of updates will come on new sketches as well as my lino printing process! I plan to take new photos of all my jewellery and have a new look to my etsy store ( plus be more productive in the jewellery producing!). Plus, I have the Rose Street Market coming up on the 23rd of Jan ( so much work to do....oh lord I wish I didn't leave things to the last minute!) and really hope that this one goes well and I can do more markets. So much to get done!

In animal world. The little bird (Chirpy) is going very well. She is growing some beautiful new feathers (so amazing to watch this happen so close!) and she is eating very well. I did all sorts of online research about raising her and she seems to be doing very well. Here are the couple of photos that kind of worked (she is one tricky bugger to keep still!!).

Plus.....look who is getting bigger! She is now looking like a lanky lady with long legs and very funny movements! It's amazing how quickly they grow up.

Lastly.....I had a little visit to my parents the other day and had a lovely time with Punky! Just a little Hi-ya from the Punk herself! (Sometimes I wonder if Enid and Punky are related! They look alike!)
