Mac vs. PC - 4 Reasons Why You Should by a PC!

The age old debate still rages, Mac or PC? While many of us are definitely in one camp or the other, as witnessed whenever a Mac and a PC guy/girl get together there is sure to be a debate or even an argument. We have tested, played with, and worked on, many Mac's and PC's in our quest to end the debate once and for all. We have come to the conclusion that both sides have some valid and interesting points but ultimately it comes down to personal tastes, preferences, and purchasing power. Even in our camp of testers we are split, so this first article will list four reasons why you should by a PC. My esteemed colleague will list four reasons why you should by a Mac in the next article. Below is my list of reasons:

4. Hardware - because Mac's or only made by Apple there is really only seven or eight choices of models, so choice is limited. Whereas with PC's there are really hundreds of choices. Anything from the cheap, inexpensive to the Rolls Royce. Many different brands like HP, Dell, Sony, and Toshiba really put this category in favor of the PC.

3. Performance - Although the start up for Mac seems to be much faster than a PC, again this category must go to the PC. The reason is again the PC's diversity of choices. A top of the line desktop or laptop PC will surely out perform its top of the line Mac counter parts like the MacBook Pro or iMac. The many reason is that there are many more companies putting out products for PC's, Mac just can;t stay up.

2. Accessories - I know, I know you are tired of hearing it but this category, again, goes to the PC. In this case quantity is the king. The PC's have many more accessories made specifically for them. It is true that the majority mice, monitors, keyboards, and connectors work for both Mac and PC many more are made specifically for the PC.

1. Price - All I can say here is DUH, not even close! Mac's are much more expensive, in most cases double, compared to their PC counterparts. Again this category is affected by the number of companies that produce PC's, hundreds, compared to Apple and Apple only producing its computers.

For your information I own both a Mac (MacBook Pro
) and a PC(HP Pavilion DV6
) and both have great qualities but for me the price is the kicker of all of the categories and Mac prices aren't even in the ballpark.

Football vs Soccer

I have been around a lot of discussions about football and soccer lately. Mostly, arguments about which one is better. My personal preference is football, I grew up football, soccer was just a ball we tried to kick as far and high as we could. Now don't get me wrong, I respect the skills it takes to play soccer, but it is just not my sort of game. Here are 4 reasons I think football is a better sport.

1. Football is the ultimate team sport. Soccer does not need 11 guys doing the right thing in order to be successful. During a typical football play, you need 11 guys doing their job for the play to work. If two guys slack off, then the play won't work.

2. More scoring. If you watched any Oklahoma Sooner football game this year, you noticed how enjoyable it was to see a great offense at work. Points were scored at will and I just loved watching them light it up. Even a low scoring football game can be fun to watch because you know at some point the other team is going to break through the defense. Soccer on the other hand just doesn't have the ability to light up the scoreboard. However, if every soccer game ended in a shoot out with a hot girl taking her shirt off, I would probably watch it more.

3. More strategy. Football has thousands of different plays that can be ran from hundreds of different formations. Also, the defense can run many different types of fronts, blitz's, stunts, and coverages. Special teams are also very unique, many different ways to run them. Soccer just does not have that many x's and o's.

4. Physical Contact. I know that soccer has physical contact, but not 22 different guys going after each other every play of the game. Which most of the time is between 150 to 200 plays if not more. I have seen some tough hits during the course of a soccer game, but not as many as I have seen watching football. I would much rather let Pele tackle me than Dick Butkus or Ray Lewis.

Lets face it, football is a better sport. What is your argument?

The Satellite has a built-in webcam that is easily activated with a click. All four USB ports are on the sides near the front, as is the network port.

2. Sony VAIO VGN-NS235J/S 15.4-Inch Laptop. It works fast, it's not too big and you didn't have too much pre-installed things that you have to take care of, and for the price, it's was a bargain. It’s that time of year again to get your brackets filled in and start the competition with your family, buddies, and co-workers. It’s all you ever see on the sports channels and newspapers. You also sit there and listen to those so-called experts talk about the bracket and who will win or lose, and also talk about that Cinderella team that always messes everyone’s bracket up. March Madness always keeps everyone entertained when you fill out a bracket and compete with other people because you don’t just cheer and watch your favorite team, but you also watch your other teams that you’ve picked. Even if you aren’t into basketball, it’s still a lot of fun! Here are my 4 teams in the Final Four:

Lose 20 Pounds in Two Months

These are 4 things I did to lose 32 pounds in just over two months. I know the title says Twenty Pounds in Two Months
, but I took it a little bit further. I reached my goal and told myself I can do a little more to lose a little more. You have to be strong-willed! Here it is:
4. Reduce the size of your meals and eat more frequently.
- I’m not here to tell you what to eat or what not to eat, but your meal portions should be reduced a significant amount compared to what you are used to eating on a regular basis.
- Eating a snack between your main meals keeps you from being hungry all day.
3. Have a partner to lose weight with and make it a competition.
- Losing weight is hard enough and if you have someone to do this with, it just makes it a little easier (moral support).
- If you are a competitive person put a wager on who can lose the most weight, this is great for motivational purposes.
2. Make sure you do some high intensity cardio.
- There are many cardio workouts you can do, but I usually stick with running because you can always find a place to run.
- You want to make sure you do this cardio activity for at least 30 minutes a day and usually 5 days a week, no less!
1. Have a goal!
- You want to make sure you are specific about how much you want to lose, make it a realistic goal, and also make sure you have a time frame to reach your goal.

St. Patrick's Day "Who is this Guy?"

St. Patrick’s Day came to America in 1737. This holiday was first publicly celebrated in Boston. Today, people celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the traditional wearing of green and parades. Many people also celebrate with the drinking of beer and most of the time its GREEN beer.
So what’s the history of this guy, St. Patrick? Well he was born with the name of Maewyn around 385 AD. Before he began turning the native pagans of Ireland into Christians he sort of had a rough start in life. At the age of 16 he was sold into slavery. It was during this time of slavery he found God.

St. Patrick was a slave for six years until he escaped and headed for Gaul. This is where he met up with St. Germain and studied in the local monastery. This is where St. Patrick found his true destiny in life, and that was to turn pagans into Christians.

After returning to Ireland St. Patrick was very successful at converting the pagans and this did not sit well with the Celtic Druids. Patrick was arrested several times, but escaped each time, because that’s how the Irish roll! Throughout the next thirty years he traveled throughout Ireland building and establishing monasteries, schools, and churches.

St. Patrick died on March 17th 461 AD. After his death a lot of fiction surrounds St. Patrick’s Day. Some of these stories include the belief that Patrick raised people from the dead, but we all know that’s reserved for Capitan “Big Guns” upstairs! One of the most famous stories of St. Patrick is that he is said to have given a sermon from a hilltop that drove all the snakes from Ireland. Of course, no snakes were ever native to Ireland.

So what’s the deal with the shamrock? Well St. Padddy used the three-leafed shamrock to explain the Trinity. It is said that he used the shamrock in his sermons to show the representation of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Sprit, hence the Trinity.

2. Bring it On. Just kidding, only a guy with a girls name would like this flick.

2. Rudy. An inspirational story about the man that made it on the Notre Dame football team.

3. Varsity Blues. Funny, hot woman, good football scenes, and a pure classic. A ten, a f***ing ten.

4. Happy Gilmore. Very funny movie with a lot of classic one liners that I still use today.

Get Out of Debt 4 Ever (Part 2)

So here’s the facts, you either came back looking for more answers or if you’re just joining us… just kept reading, if you came looking for hugs you came to the wrong place feel free to leave anytime. Well looks like you’re ready to get to work so lets get straight to it!!

1. Make a list of all those that you owe and don’t be shy. This includes everyone, thing, person, animal, loan shark, credit company, mob boss, and so on. You may be surprised how much you really owe. You will probably end up saying, “Wow, I owe more than I thought. I was really in self denial, I had myself fooled!!” Now look around make sure no one is around……..now say “Holy smokes I’m an IDIOT!” and say out loud.

2. If you can’t do number 1, you’re obviously still in denial and actually like being in huge debt! Just stating the facts! We’re looking for people who will actually step up to the plate! Last chance, say it out loud!! If you still can’t say it then be on your way please, you’re bugging us, thanks for stopping by!!!

3. Now, at the very top of your list put Family members you owe first then close friends. Let me guess “but I have credit cards with interest pilling up, why aren’t they first?” HEY, no excesses!!! Your calculations up till now haven’t really worked now have they!! Family should come first in everything you do or decision you make, right? If you hit absolute rock bottom, who is going to be there to help you get back up? Your credit card companies, yea right!! How about your family, whom you’ve put first? It also goes with your CLOSE friends as well.

4. After Family and Friends put whatever debt you owe starting with the lowest total amount first. (T.V., laptop, couch, student loan, car 1, car 2, credit card 1, credit card 2…3….4, house……everything and anything smallest to largest debt)

5. Now when you start paying this stuff off start at the top of the list. Believe me you’ll feel great about getting family and friends paid off first. Then family get togethers won’t feel so awkward. Then we’ll knock off one small thing at a time. “Why don’t we start paying the big things off first or the high interest cards?” Ever try eating a 24oz steak in 4 bites without getting a cramp in your jaw or choking to death while some red-necked guy named Butch is giving you the Dodge Hemi-lock? Sound rough? So is attempting to pay off the large debt first. You will feel like you are getting nowhere. So, back to this plan and not Butch’s. Lets order the smaller steak first and take small bites while building up some confidence. Then we’ll tackle the 24 ouncer later.

Keep this list handy as you’ll be looking back on it and checking stuff off as you pay them off. There is one more thing left to do before we get started and that’s in part 3!! Feel free to post any questions. See you next time.

Socialism – Is a broad set of economic policies that advocate state and public ownership or administration of the means of production. Karl Marx, the father of communism stated that socialism is the transition between capitalism and communism.

Capitalism – Is a broad set of economic principals in which the means of production are owned and controlled privately. All means of production and services are decided by a free and open market economy.

Communism – Is a socioeconomic structure in which there is a common ownership of the means of production. Communism works toward a classless, stateless society.

The United States is a “capitalist” or more accurately described “capitalist mixed economy”, which means the means of production are both owned privately and publicly. It seems to be getting more socialist as the government intervenes on a more regular basis, like the “they are to big to fail” bailout. True capitalism would let the market decide if they are to big to fail. Please let the markets decide.

1. Rocky IV. This is the best of all the Rocky movies. Great 80's pump up music and a classic David vs. Goliath battle. If you don't get pumped up watching the training sessions and watching the fight scenes, then you have a problem.

2. Remember the Titans. What a classic true story, enough said.

3. Dodgeball. Dodgeball is a sport whether you like it or not. Incredibly funny show with a bunch of classic one liners.

4. Caddyshack. Another funny movie with a bunch of great one liners. If you don't laugh your butt off when you watch Bill Murray chop the flowers, then you have problems.

Here are 4 things you should re-think if you are going to the Vegas Coaching Clinic. None of which have to do with the actual coaches clinic.

1. If you are leaving Wednesday and the clinic starts on Thursday, get a room! Sleeping in the hall during registration is not acceptable.

2. No "warm-ups" in Mesquite. This turns out to be a full fledged work-out instead of a warm-up. You end up with doubles when all you need are singles.

3. No sleeping in the halls or at the clinic. See #1.

4. Make sure you research the show before going to it. You do not want to end up with a broken neck because you fell asleep.

GET OUT OF DEBT 4 EVER (PART 1)

This is part one of a no holds barred, absolutely free, and effective way to get out of debt. I’m not a wizard or some famous guru on finance. I’m just a regular person, like you, who had to be told the obvious. I was looking for the magic answer, the quick way to make money, the easy way out, and it was right in front of me the whole time. Sure I read a book or two and that’s what helped me out the most. So…enough about me, listen closely “STOP!” That’s it. I bet your saying “Wow, that’s great but stop what?” You have to realize what you are doing. Get your hand off the stove!!! You are in debt because you have more money going out then you have coming in! Here are 7 quick ways to STOP throwing money away.

1. STOP touching the stove, its hot! If you are doing any of the following, than for some reason you keep touching the hot stove. How many more times are you going to get burned???
2. STOP using your credit cards, you're paying interest rates that are out of this world. “But I need my credit cards” STOP making excuses that’s number 7.
3. STOP letting your own pride get in the way when you’re out with friends, you don’t have to keep up with them, some of them are in the same boat as you. You’re the one who has to look at the bills every month, not them!!!
4. STOP eating out!! You have time to make dinner, if you make time. Everyone has 24 hours in a day. “You don’t work as much as I do.” See, you can’t even wait till number 7!!!
5. STOP using quick forms of payment, (Credit cards, Debit cards, ect) use cash. It’s harder to spend it when you know, and can see, how much you are actually throwing in the trash. Its hard to let go of the GREEN, you ever try it? It’s too easy to swipe, and forget.
6. STOP talking yourself in to good deals. If you have to borrow or finance to get the good deal..... IT'S NOT A GOOD DEAL, can you not see that?????
7. I can already hear them so…. STOP making excuses.

Constitution: 4 bits of trivia

1. At no point in the constitution does it mention separation of church and state. The only place that it comes close is in the 1st Amendment; it states that congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion or the free exercise thereof. The intent was to insure that we did not end up with a state religion, like in England and some other European countries. It’s purpose was not to keep religion out of the United States as evidenced by the Constitution containing the phrase “in the year of our Lord” as part of the witness/signing statement. The phrase “separation of church and state” is generally credited to Thomas Jefferson in a letter written to the Danbury Baptists.

2. Very few statements drive me more insane than hearing statements like “the President’s tax cuts” or “the President’s failed economic policy”. Article 1: Section 8 makes it very clear that congress has the power of the purse; they decide how and when money is spent. It does state in Article 2: Section 3 that the President from time to time shall recommend to the Congress’s consideration such measures, as he shall judge necessary and expedient.

3. When the delegates of the several states met it was for “the sole purpose of reviving the Articles of Confederation”, according to the Confederate Congress. Some notables didn’t even attend. One example is Patrick Henry who declined because; according to him “he smelt a rat”.

4. James Madison is known as the “Father of the Constitution”. He kept meticulous notes on the convention and it’s proceedings. They can be found on the Internet by googling “Madison notes”.
