Who would want to read or know anything about me?!

Well, I figured I’d still document things anyway.

I’ve always wanted to learn the guitar! For soooo many years now, and I finally got my hands on a little cheapy to start doing just that. I’m so excited. The last week of December (2017) I got a Sanchez Acoustic/Electric guitar (I’ve heard come people saying its not a good brand, but note that it is just for me…I have no inten playing in a band or whatever; this is just a chill hobby/passion).

With YouTube, I started learning the basics; how to sit, using a plectrum, strumming, fingerstyle, chords, tabs and so on. I’ve learned a few simple tabs (my immortal, the harry potter theme, aura lee), just to get the hang of things. Chords and switching between them seems to be a little tricky for me; I tend to grip the neck quite tightly and some chords I just can’t get right. Which is to be expected as I am a complete notice (apart from watching people play on YouTube lol). It’s crazy how frustrated I get when I can’t do something (knowing I’m new to the guitar); but I guess frustration is just part of learning. The closest I’ve come to playing is Guitar Hero Live lol (I’m thinking about getting Rocksmith as a way of learning; I’m not too keen on paying for lesson when there are so many other ‘free’ options out there).

So this blog is basically a means for me to keep track of my progress and to actually motivate me to continue through the many frustrations and fails of learning to play the guitar from scratch. Watch this space.
