Phoenix has seen 4 consecutive days of over 100 degrees. It is 105 degrees right now in Tucson. It is 15-20 degrees cooler on the beach in Rocky Point.

Many Arizona residents don’t realize the difference in temperature between Phoenix/Tucson and Puerto Peñasco can be so great. In the spring and summer, one of the best ways to get to a more comfortable climate is to head down to the beach. The sea breezes and ocean-side location make for much, much more comfortable days and perfect evenings. In the winter, the beach in Rocky Point is usually warmer by day, offering perfect golf weather. The biggest difference is at night, though, when things can get frosty in AZ. Tessoro at Las Conchas sponsored two holes at the event, running a closest-to-the-pin contest on each of the event’s golf courses. The prize was a luxury vacation at Tessoro’s award-winning beachfront condominium residences in Puerto Peñasco. Cardinals coaches, NFL players and alumni, and corporate sponsors all swung away, eager to earn a Rocky Point vacation on the Las Conchas Peninsula.

The winners on the two holes included a corporate sponsor and a center for the Arizona Cardinals. In addition, a few special contests brought Arizona Cardinals linemen, receivers and defensive backs to the tee at Tessoro’s hole. The winning players will be visiting the resort soon.

Over the past twenty years, Cardinals Charities has distributed more than 3.5 million dollars to hundreds of worthy Arizona charitable organizations on behalf of the Arizona Cardinals and the National Football League. Cardinals Charities supports programs designed to improve the quality of life and enhance opportunities for children, women, and minorities in the state of Arizona. It is part of the organization’s commitment to its community.

The Celebrity Golf Classic is organized every spring to raise money for Cardinals Charities. This year’s event was held at the Whirlwind Golf Club at Wild Horse Pass. Dozens of current players and coaches participated, along with several celebrity NFL alumni. There were over 300 golfers in the event and numerous corporate sponsors. Rocky Point’s representatives proudly joined this tradition.

It looks like the Arizona Cardinals and Tessoro at Las Conchas is a winning combination.

Tessoro sponsored a Closest to the Pin Contest at hole number 8 and donated the featured live auction item – a vacation at Puerto Peñasco’s (Rocky Point’s) finest beachfront resort offering a week on the Las Conchas Peninsula. The package included spa services at Tessoro, concierge service, golf and more. Tessoro’s boutique resort offers a variety of services. Residents of the full-ownership beachfront condominium residences in Las Conchas have a lifestyle like no other.

The Las Conchas Peninsula was alive with the sights and smells of fresh-cooked fish, ceviche and oysters on Saturday, April 10. In a show of support for Las Conchas’ first residents and the sustainability efforts of CEDO, Tessoro and its owners invited the NaturArte Cooperatives to hold a special seafood market at the resort. All proceeds went to support the cooperatives and their families.

The NaturArte Cooperatives have fished, farmed and cultivated mariscos on the Morua Estuary since long before the American and Canadian tourists arrived. They were Las Conchas’ original residents and pioneers. In the years since, Puerto Peñasco and the Las Conchas neighborhood have grown quickly. CEDO has organized the 3 primary cooperatives into the NaturArte Ecotourism Corridor. This allows these indigenous residents to participate in the benefits of tourism and maintain their lifestyles. It is one of the wonders of Las Conchas. The cooperatives engage in environmentally-friendly, sustainable fishing and oyster farming practices. They safeguard parts of the Morua Estuary and protect its pristine character.

As the weather glides from slightly chilly to pleasantly warm, there is nothing better than spending time on the Sea of Cortez in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora (Rocky Point). I can say this with confidence, conviction, and honesty as my wife and I have owned a home in the Las Conchas neighborhood in Rocky point since 1996.

We have travelled extensively on numerous trips in the Baja and other parts of Mexico. We love all of Mexico, but always return to Puerto Peñasco knowing that we indeed are invested in the very best spot in this beautiful country. It offers easy driving access near the U.S. border and a very safe, hard working, and friendly town.

Okay, so then there’s the question of where is the best spot to own in Rocky Point and, once again, I think I can narrow it down. It’s all about the people who love Puerto Peñasco and choose to escape the wall of condos and seek something more, something special.

Puerto Peñasco’s finest beachfront resort, Tessoro at Las Conchas, recently raised $3,300 for the Boys & Girls Club of Scottsdale. At the Scottsdale Resort on Saturday, March 20, the Boys & Girls Club held its annual Celebrate Youth Dinner & Auction, featuring the Youth of the Year Awards. Tessoro was proud to be featured in a live auction at the gala dinner.

The Boys & Girls Club supports over 16,000 youths between the ages of 6 and 18 in several clubhouses in the Eastern Valley. The organization operates with an emphasis on outreach to teens, gender inclusion and family involvement. The continuation of these important activities is funded in large part by fundraising events like the Celebrate Youth Dinner.

Tessoro donated a one-week beachfront vacation in a Diamond Residence on the Las Conchas Peninsula. The Nuevo Temazcal Spa at Tessoro was kind enough to contribute two full spa packages as an added bonus. The winner was promised an unparalleled vacation experience in Puerto Peñasco in our new boutique resort in Las Conchas. Multiple bidders competed for the Tessoro package, with the winner paying nearly the full advertised value.

Tessoro opened its refined and re-tiled resort pool. With a waterfall, heated main pool and swim-up bar, it is the best place to cool off in town. Tessoro at Las Conchas raised $5000 for children’s causes and the JCC along with Brenda Lee designs in the Heroes for Children Gala on February 20, 2010 at the Biltmore Ritz-Carlton Hotel. The event was organized by the Valley of the Sun JCC and honored Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver. Steve Nash, the suns Gorilla and comedian Howie Mandel were among the high-profile guests, presenters and performers.

The featured auction of the evening was a Tessoro vacation to spend a week at Puerto Peñasco’s finest beachfront condominium resort. Who can resist a chance to get away to the Las Conchas Peninsula in Rocky Point, especially when it is for such a worthy cause? Making the vacation even more special, Brenda Lee Design donated round trip transportation to the winner in a private jet.

During the past year, Tessoro has raised over $15,000 for charities benefiting children’s causes, handicapped sports and underprivileged communities in Phoenix and Tucson. Tessoro has been a sponsor of the 2008 Paralympics Trials and a contributor to the Tucson and Scottsdale Boys & Girls Clubs, the Miracle League of Arizona, the American Liver Foundation, and the Bridging Arizona Furniture Bank. In addition, in the local Rocky Point community, Tessoro has been active in environmental causes. This commitment to giving back to the communities Tessoro serves is part of the development’s core principals.

SIMPLY INSANE:  I am not referring to state of mind, but instead taking a look around and appreciating how incredibly fantastic the Las Conchas Peninsula is. I have the joy of waking up each morning in Las Conchas, and each one is treasured.

Right this minute as I write, I am awake early and can’t sleep any more. There is a fog that lingers on the water, and it’s amazingly welcome. The nature captures me. I love it, and can’t imagine going back to bed.

The fog rolling over the Sea of Cortez is not something you see often, with so many days of endless sun, so I greet these subtle changes with enthusiasm. The east side of Puerto Peñasco, and in particular Las Conchas, is something that is appreciated by all who know it.  I have known it for 20 years, as I have a beachfront house in Las Conchas just down the way from Tessoro, and I love it.

I can only imagine the feeling that those who are living at Tessoro would feel this minute!  Incredible if they are
up.

Tessoro is truly the only location in town that
has the secluded, non-busy, and total package that puts owners into a place that in this uniquely relaxing . . .  it’s just hard to describe.  I live it every day and I know that in one visit you will find it difficult to not love it like I do. Tessoro means “Treasure” and indeed this project is a treasure. Whatever you may have for plans to visit Rocky Point, please make the time to visit us on the Las Conchas Peninsula and you will not be disappointed.
