Tessoro at Las Conchas raised $5000 for children’s causes and the JCC along with Brenda Lee designs in the Heroes for Children Gala on February 20, 2010 at the Biltmore Ritz-Carlton Hotel. The event was organized by the Valley of the Sun JCC and honored Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver. Steve Nash, the suns Gorilla and comedian Howie Mandel were among the high-profile guests, presenters and performers.

The featured auction of the evening was a Tessoro vacation to spend a week at Puerto Peñasco’s finest beachfront condominium resort. Who can resist a chance to get away to the Las Conchas Peninsula in Rocky Point, especially when it is for such a worthy cause? Making the vacation even more special, Brenda Lee Design donated round trip transportation to the winner in a private jet.

During the past year, Tessoro has raised over $15,000 for charities benefiting children’s causes, handicapped sports and underprivileged communities in Phoenix and Tucson. Tessoro has been a sponsor of the 2008 Paralympics Trials and a contributor to the Tucson and Scottsdale Boys & Girls Clubs, the Miracle League of Arizona, the American Liver Foundation, and the Bridging Arizona Furniture Bank. In addition, in the local Rocky Point community, Tessoro has been active in environmental causes. This commitment to giving back to the communities Tessoro serves is part of the development’s core principals.

SIMPLY INSANE:  I am not referring to state of mind, but instead taking a look around and appreciating how incredibly fantastic the Las Conchas Peninsula is. I have the joy of waking up each morning in Las Conchas, and each one is treasured.

Right this minute as I write, I am awake early and can’t sleep any more. There is a fog that lingers on the water, and it’s amazingly welcome. The nature captures me. I love it, and can’t imagine going back to bed.

The fog rolling over the Sea of Cortez is not something you see often, with so many days of endless sun, so I greet these subtle changes with enthusiasm. The east side of Puerto Peñasco, and in particular Las Conchas, is something that is appreciated by all who know it.  I have known it for 20 years, as I have a beachfront house in Las Conchas just down the way from Tessoro, and I love it.

I can only imagine the feeling that those who are living at Tessoro would feel this minute!  Incredible if they are
up.

Tessoro is truly the only location in town that
has the secluded, non-busy, and total package that puts owners into a place that in this uniquely relaxing . . .  it’s just hard to describe.  I live it every day and I know that in one visit you will find it difficult to not love it like I do. Tessoro means “Treasure” and indeed this project is a treasure. Whatever you may have for plans to visit Rocky Point, please make the time to visit us on the Las Conchas Peninsula and you will not be disappointed.

A lot has been made of Tessoro’s internet technology. The developers have taken pride in giving Tessoro owners a level of connectivity no other development could dream of. The Rocky Point Times recently highlighted the new trails blazed by Tessoro at Las Conchas in the internet and technology realm.

So how good is Tessoro’s internet? Last weekend, the owner of Diamond Residence 501 and his guest wandered down to the Palapa with their laptop, opened the ESPN web site and watched the Kentucky-LSU basketball game streaming live over the internet using only the public Wi-Fi connection. Wow!

In case you were wondering, Kentucky walloped LSU 81-55 at LSU. But what is more important is that a Tessoro owner, and Kentucky fan, was able to spend the weekend with his wife and kids in Mexico and not miss a thing. Technology is so important in choosing your vacation home.

All Tessoro owners enjoy this internet signal in their residences free of charge – it is included in the HOA. On top of that, the common areas and gym enjoy a fast Wi-Fi signal (we are talking make-a-phone-call-with-Skype, watch-a-game-live type of fast). Tessoro has an advanced line-of-sight signal that beams over 16 MB per second of bandwidth to the development.

We all go to a place like the Las Conchas Peninsula to relax, unplug and unwind. But, the reality of the modern workplace and our desire to connect to everything from sports to family and friends while on the road tells us that technology remains important. The ability to connect when we need actually allows us to spend more away from everyday life.

A glace at the email, a quick check of the scores, a fast Facebook note, a bill paid online . . . These are the thinks that allow us to truly relax by that hot tub with a margarita, leaving nothing on our minds but the sound of the sea and the squeal of happy children and grandchildren.

Mr. Adams hosts the Great American Golf show on Saturdays and a weekday golf and lifestyle show on the drive home from 6-7pm. Mr. Adams stayed in Jade Residence 404 and set up his mobile radio equipment by Tessoro’s Gym and Spa on Saturday morning, January 30th.

“Welcome to Great American Golf, I am your Caddy for the Show,” began Mr. Adams in his traditional intro, and then added “I am pleased to be broadcasting live from beautiful Tessoro at Las Conchas in Puerto Peñasco. Folks, if you could only see the views I am experiencing this morning overlooking the beach in Las Conchas by the Morua Estuary.” During the show, in between phone interviews with Golf celebrities, Mr. Adams discussed his fascination with our little town of Rocky Point, his love of the natural scenery and his excitement to take part in the activities he saw in the Las Conchas Eco-Map.

It was a great honor to have Mr. Adams as a guest at the resort and to have him broadcast to the Phoenix metropolitan area from Tessoro. Tessoro is expected to attract athletes and celebrities given its unique privacy and security features and its exclusive location away from the fray on the Las Conchas Peninsula just 10 minutes from the town.

The Christmas season in Mexico is filled with so much tradition, including the annual series of “Posadas” (Christmas shelters where celebrations are held). Around the 15th of December, my neighbors here in Puerto Peñasco all start with the Posadas every night. They go from house to house asking for permission to come in. Finally at the last home they are granted permission and the party begins. After having food, the tequila is broken out and the children begin the quest to break the piñata. I look forward to this every year.

The city hall in Puerto Peñasco went all out with decorating. They had a stable with baby goats, donkeys etc. The large ficus trees had been topped with white cotton and decorated with many lights. They even formed a cone shaped dome one for the top of one of the trees. I looked forward to going home every evening after work just to see all the lights and the children gathering.

Many of our owners were here for the holidays as well as several guests and renters – the beachfront condos were full! The community of people got together every afternoon for drinks by the pool and a chance to socialize. One evening the Johnson family had Carlos the “Cantinero” (bartender), his daughter, Karla (Tessoro’s Front Desk Concierge), and his friends play music in their condo. They were kind enough to invite my husband Bill and I for the party. Lanae made fabulous chicken enchiladas and her mom offered home made fudge. Wine and tequila flowed. Karla is our HOA liaison and has a voice like a song bird. We have known Carlos for many, many years here in Puerto Peñasco and it was nice to have him entertain at Tessoro.

It was great to see everyone come out to watch the sunsets every night despite the winter evening chill. The emergence of this community on the Las Conchas Peninsula is what I will remember best as I reflect back on this holiday season.

Lanae Johnson’s parents Harry and Kay Elletson and Bill and Beverly Arrowood celebrate the holidays at Tessoro.

Last weekend, two of my brothers were in town and the three of us had fun playing bocce ball on the beach, watching the Texas/Alabama game at Capone’s, and playing shuffle board at the Black Dog. Rocky Point has for years been a great source of family bonding for my extended clan!

As usual, the weather has been “just right,” with only one windy day out the eight thus far and the rest of them calm and warm. Sort of competes with a Salt Lake Winter rather well. I’ve witnessed some spectacular sunrises all week long; Puerto Peñasco certainly does produce great sunrises as well as their famous sunsets.

I hope to see all of you when you return to town, so please drop by Tessoro any day from 9:00 to 5:00 to see once again where your first-class beachfront condo may await you.

Now I am back in Rocky Point focusing on Tessoro’s lovely real estate offerings for sale. The skies today are clear but on the far horizon you can see many shrimp boats heading in as we are about to get the same weather that Phoenix and Southern California are seeing. We get very little rain here in Puerto Peñasco, so when we do it is great. Because of the moon’s cycle we are having some dramatic high tide/ low tide swings. We love when we see such tides and a little wind at these times as the Sea of Cortez is really awesome. It brings a bounty of shells to our beach and as I look out the window, one of owners and her son are out collecting shells – that is why they call this beach “Las Conchas.” Yesterday Lanae Johnson’s son was learning how to skim board in the tidal pools by the mouth of the estuary. He was really having a great time and was being coached by some friendly Mexican teenagers who were doing the same thing. There is just so much for everyone to do here.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson has served as a leading force for youth development for over 40 years in Tucson. The six your clubhouses of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson served nearly 7,000 youths in 2009. The Club’s programs are fun, safe and affordable for all younger members of the Tucson community and are offered year-round.

The Twenty-Ninth Annual Holiday Auction was presented as “The Show Must Go On” and was held at the Westin La Paloma in Tucson. The Holiday Auction is the Boys and Girls Club’s most important annual fundraiser. Dozens of children from the different Clubhouses of the Boys and Girls Club were there to greet the guests and remind everyone what these events go to support. Tessoro’s representative was the guest of Cris, Juliette, Joe and Carol Cristiani, who were kind enough to invite Tessoro to join their Aqua Chill LLC table.
