Power is still out and I suddenly miss my parent’s place. Coz if we were there at this time, I would be outside enjoying an afternoon walk but not on the street or I would go for a walk to the church grounds nearby and enjoy the sunny afternoon in the shade of course. I remember it is windy out there so no need to worry much because of the heat this afternoon. Yes it is hot in here already with summer season here. Okay the lil boy is asleep I’ll take a quick afternoon walk outside. It’s not as hot anymore with the sun going down with more shade outside. Come on let’s take a walk!

It must be exam week already for I could hear the kids playing outside which makes me think it must be a couple of weeks till they will be officially on summer vacation. Coz they usually still have classes at this hour in the afternoon but I could hear them running and playing outside already.

Well on the other hand, they should not be running around outside, they should be at home studying or taking an afternoon nap. Oh well kids these days they are more to have fun than study given a lot of distractions. But since there is no electricity here right now and they could not play with their PC games (instead of studying eh!), I guess that is why they’re just playing outside in the heat of the sun this afternoon. But once their parents get home from work, they really must study! Kids must know there is always time for play and study.

Preparing for the future especially when you have a family and children to think of, you must have thought of going into investing for their future or for the entire family’s future. If you want to invest in something much more stable and secure, you can if I may say go for gold. Some fortunate people are able to invest and buy gold bullion as a secure investment.

If I had enough financial resources, I’d truly go for this kind of investment. Experts say that it is more good and attractive to invest in gold when the euro gains over the dollar coz in that state of the economy, it will most likely not fall so soon in the market. If this keeps going, the more those investors out there would think of going for the gold. Which make me wish I can also go for gold. Maybe one day if we work ten times harder and earn more than what we do. But truly this is a secure investment one should think of.

The lights are out as well as the electricity that started exactly at two this afternoon. Hubby had told me earlier this morning that there will be a power outage scheduled from 1PM to 5PM today.

This rotating brownout in the city as I have said before is somehow our Earth Hour twice a day observance. Yes it is a sacrifice but it somehow a blessing in disguise as it gives us time to focus on other things which people may be taking for granted everyday. I am not only talking about mother earth but I am also talking about the little things that we could do if we stay away from our life “online” if you know what I mean.

I can now enjoy the silence and peace except for the hum drum sound of the power generating plant of DLPC in Bajada which we could hear from here almost 24 hours a day, seven days a week since it started being used again I think early February if I am not mistaken. Sorry am a bit sleepy now and no net to search when it really started.

Another blessing is that I am able to write long posts like this one which is longer than my usual posts. LOL! Yes the brownout takes out other distractions and makes us focus on certain things more. Makes us think more of things we’ve missed like the sound of the birds chirping outside. With the A/C on in the house, I could not hear them clearly but now with the wooden door open to let in more light into the house, I could hear them clearly.

Hubby just went out this late at night to buy a loaf of garlic bread in the nearby pizza house. I actually do not like garlic but this garlic bread there makes me appreciate little by little the taste of garlic. They also have garlic in my fave pasta dish there but I don’t mind at all coz I cannot taste it anyway. What I hate is when I can taste the garlic in my mouth. I’m really gonna have to take it out of my mouth and take something to cover the taste. Thanks to hubby for buying the garlic bread. The pizza house is close tomorrow. This is what the lil boy and I eat lately. We just toast it and it could already be my meal. The lil boy likes it too when we toast it. You gotta try it if you live in town.

My boys and I had our pizza night for family bonding time tonight. After the anticipated mass we attended we went to Yellow Cab in Damosa and then after that we hopped to Ice Giants where the lil boy had his fave french fries. While waiting for our order, the lil boy was pointing to the unique lighting fixture hanging on the ceiling near the cashier and he was really fascinated by it. You can also say I was fascinated by the design of that particular lighting. I’ll try to ask next time where they got that. Actually my first time to see that design.

If you like lighting fixtures, I remember this lighting showplace with so many styles to choose from. They offer free ground shipping on orders over $49. I remember before when I browsed through their site there was one particular lighting that I really like to purchase. I was just having second thought then coz we are not yet in our own home so I thought maybe I’d just get that if and when we move to our own place where i can decorate the house on my own. Anyway, if you are interested in purchasing lighting fixtures, they have a free Home Savers Club where you can save money when you make your purchases from them. Having this kind of lighting is one nice way to set a mood in your home and make a cozy atmosphere and make a statement in your home.

Time check fifteen minutes past nine. I woke up for the second time today as I heard silence when the A/C near me turned off and when I opened my eyes, the emergency light was already on. I woke up earlier on when hubby went to kiss me goodbye as he went out to work. I decided to sleep longer. Now I cannot work online. Might as well play with the little one who woke up just in time that the now two-hour rotational brownout started. This is our first two-hour brownout since it was announced Thursday late afternoon.

Now, I thought of wishing we bought the emergency light that has a radio. But hey I have an XpressMusic phone so might have a sound trip. The lil guy in the house first did not like it. He wanted to watch TV but did not understand there was no electricity right now. He thought there must be coz I was able to turn on my laptop and he could hear music and songs from my phone.

So I diverted him and now my sound trip was cut short with the lil guy taking interest on my phone which was playing with the music now.

Okay might as well find something else to do. I don’t feel like playing near the lil one as I feel I am starting a cold when I woke up. But now I ended up playing with the lil guy’s toys from McDo Happy Meals while listening to music and waiting for the electricity to come back. As of now, about an hour to go.

There are times that hubby and I think that we we wish we have a family car of our own especially when we need to go or drop off to different places in the city at any given time in a day. Also we feel that need too since we have travel with our lil boy and a taxi cab is not readily available in the place where we could be and it takes long to get one sometimes.

So whenever there are car exhibits, we’d try to check on it especially or even online those SUV like the cadillac srx we saw recently which is a crossover SUV with looks from outside that is so appealing. The 2010 model which is the top of its line is a little smaller than the one it replaced and in an all wheel drive premium platform. It is a combination of power and performance in a luxury crossover SUV. I like the red one we saw which looks cool yet a hot SUV car to have. We’d like it for a family car consideration though we are open to other options.

It is good to have a family car and during those times before we married, hubby would talk about his dream of having a car of his own and for us as a family. It would make it easier for us to travel anywhere even just in the city.
