Telerik Q3 2009 Release Features Leading-edge Additions To All-In-One .NET Toolbox

Latest release pioneers ORM support for SQL Azure, introduces industry-first Silverlight advances, and delivers upgrades across full Telerik product line

Waltham, MA, November 4, 2009 - Telerik, a leading vendor of development tools and user interface components for .NET, today unveiled its Q3 2009 release lineup, showcasing a number of industry-first additions to three popular Telerik products, including full ORM support for SQL Azure, and the introduction of a native report viewer and automated UI testing solution for Microsoft Silverlight. The company's last release of 2009 also debuts new technologies and enhancements for its RadControls UI components, Reporting, ORM, Web Testing solutions and UI Extensions for ASP.NET MVC.

"Innovation is the key driving force in our industry; Telerik's goal with this release is to give developers unfettered access to the latest technologies available today," said Vassil Terziev, Telerik CEO. "The technology landscape is evolving with furious speed - borders are diffusing and paradigms are shifting at all levels of software development. Telerik's mandate is to be a fundamental resource for developers in this rapidly changing environment by always delivering more than expected."

Industry-leading innovation is incorporated into Telerik's enterprise-grade object-relational mapper, OpenAccess ORM. With this latest release, OpenAccess is the only ORM fully supporting Microsoft's cloud-based SQL Azure database. Developers can map to cloud-hosted databases the same way they do with local databases, such as SQL Server; OpenAccess also supports Model First and Schema First mapping to SQL Azure databases. An interactive online demo site featuring rich media tutorials and contextual content designed to assist developers in mastering the features of Telerik's ground-breaking and time-saving ORM has been launched in conjunction with this release.

With the Q3 2009 release comes the industry's first native Silverlight report viewer. Incorporated into the Telerik Reporting tool, the viewer allows users to easily integrate reports into any Rich Internet Application developed with Silverlight. With reports rendered in XAML, the product also now offers support for report exporting to Microsoft's XPS document format. Additionally, the Q3 release adds Document Map functionality for all report viewers, enabling swift, effortless navigation by displaying report data in a tree-like table of contents.

This release also pioneers the first codeless Silverlight UI testing automation solution, in the upgraded WebUI Test Studio. The product's UI object model gives users the ability to build test automation for the entire range of UI elements available in Silverlight. Furthermore, Telerik custom-developed translators for RadControls for Silverlight expose necessary test actions and verifications in WebUI Test Studio, facilitating quick and easy building of tests against Telerik controls.

Telerik's Q3 release is also pivotal for its industry leading ASP.NET UI components, with the introduction of the Extensions for ASP.NET MVC beta. Four new Extensions built on the popular jQuery JavaScript library and closely matching the styling and features found in RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX have been added in this release, including a powerful MVC Grid. The new Extensions are distributed under the open source GPLv2 license and a commercial license that includes support is also available. Simultaneously, the RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX suite has expanded with three new controls and Visual Studio Extensions that now provide a convenient Automatic Upgrade Wizard.

With Q3 2009, enhancements and upgrades have been deployed across Telerik's full range of products, as well:

Telerik's Silverlight and WPF suites feature 9 new controls, providing better support for complex business scenarios

New Visual Studio Extensions for RadControls for Silverlight now assist developers in automating the creation, upgrading, and configuration of Telerik Silverlight projects

RadControls for WinForms delivers significant performance optimizations across all controls, improving application loading times and minimizing memory footprint

Pricing
Pricing of the Telerik Premium Collection for .NET, including all suites, Reporting, OpenAccess ORM and Extensions for ASP.NET MVC, is $1,299 per developer seat. The license comes with priority support, guaranteeing 24-hour response time, as well as full C# source code, redistribution rights, and free updates to the latest products for one year. All tools in the collection work without license keys and can be freely deployed on an unlimited number of development, testing, and production servers. A step-by-step self-paced tutorial and a robust library of code samples are provided to accelerate learning.
All component suites and tools are also available individually at Telerik.com.

Telerik CAB Enabling Kit for WinForms Available as Open Source Project on CodePlex

Newton, MA, September 10, 2009 - Telerik, a leading vendor of development tools and UI components for the Microsoft .NET platform, announced that Telerik CAB Enabling Kit for RadControls for WinForms (TCEK) has moved on CodePlex as an open source downloadable project. Being one of the first vendors to provide support for the CAB and the SCSF, Telerik is strongly committed to provide seamless and easy integration with the CAB framework.

"The interest in extending the TCEK has been so great that we decided to provide TCEK to the community as an open source project on CodePlex," said Vassil Petev, WinForms Unit Manager at Telerik. "We believe this will give developers an incentive to provide updates to TCEK, which in turn to make the integration between RadControls and CAB more robust and trouble-free."

The Composite UI Application Block (CAB) is a framework provided by the Microsoft patterns & practices team for developing smart client Windows Forms applications. It allows for dynamic loading of independent yet cooperating modules into a common shell. Since CAB is supporting only the windows components included with Visual Studio, Telerik has recognized the time-consuming task of developing support for third-party controls and is one of the first vendors to offer it with its Windows Forms suite. Telerik CAB Enabling Kit for WinForms provides integration of RadControls for WinForms with the Composite UI Application Block (CAB) and its underlying infrastructure.

The CAB kit comes with workspaces, classes, and adapters for major WinForms controls to enable the development of enterprise applications by using common patterns and practices. It contains all needed wrappers to start using RadControls for WinForms with the CAB framework immediately.

The CodePlex CAB project will be fully supported by Telerik and will be updated with each new Telerik release to guarantee that all latest Telerik versions are supported. Since Telerik CAB Enabling Kit has gone on CodePlex developers will be able to give their input in extending and facilitating the integration and support of RadControls with CAB. All uploaded change sets and updates submitted on CodePlex will be considered for inclusion in the Telerik CAB Kit when updating the main project.

Telerik offers the open source CAB Kit for download together with demos, technical documentation, forums and blogs to help RadControls for WinForms customers in the development process.

Telerik and Imaginet Resources Introduce Free Developer Team Management Tools Built with RadControls for WPF

TFS Work Item Manager and TFS Project Dashboard make working with
Microsoft's Team Foundation Server Faster and Easier, enhancing
developer productivity

Newton, MA, September 9, 2009 - Telerik, a leading vendor of
development tools and user interface components for .NET, today
introduced TFS Work Item Manager (Beta)and TFS Project Dashboard
(Beta), a new class of developer workload and resource management
applications built with RadControls for WPF by Imaginet Resources Corp.
Inspired by agile development methodologies, the free tools are
designed to facilitate project progress visualization, drastically
reduce project overhead and enhance accountability for development
teams working with Microsoft's Team Foundation Server. Since the TFS
Work Item Manager and TFS Project Dashboard have been used extensively
internally at Telerik and Imaginet for over six months with great
results, development teams can immediately utilize these tools and see
the same benefits.

"Telerik's RadControls for WPF suite provided an amazingly
flexible foundation for the TFS Work Item Manager and TFS Project
Dashboard tools, allowing the team to quickly implement a user
experience that was fresh and intuitive. In addition, Telerik's mature
software engineering practices truly inspired the team to find better
ways to visualize the software construction process as well as help to
rethink how to update Microsoft Team System work items," said Joel
Semeniuk, Imaginet Co-CEO. "This partnership has resulted in a work
item management tool for all members of the software team as well as a
rich project feedback platform inspired by highly efficient
manufacturing processes."

Brought to life by Imaginet's extensive expertise in
Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and influenced by Telerik
internal development processes, TFS Work Item Manager is aimed to help
teams be more agile in their day to day work. TFS Work Item Manager
leverages the powerful capabilities of Microsoft's Team Foundation
Server to help developers access and alter all their tasks in a
visually appealing and user-friendly way. With this innovative and easy
to use platform, teams will also enjoy improved collaboration resulting
in less time needed for managing work items, reports, and cross-team
efforts. In these lean times where development teams are being asked to
do more with less, the TFS Work Item Manager helps free up more
developer time to actually write code, not manage what they have to do.

TFS Project Dashboard assists the coordination of teams'
responsibilities even further. This unique stand-alone console connects
to Team Foundation Server and pulls workload data to be displayed as
various widgets. The application shows all significant indicators in
real time at a glance including build history, recent check-ins,
assigned tasks, bug history, and more. The instant and accurate reports
allow for improved accountability of personal tasks, workloads and
release schedules. The TFS Project Dashboard increases team
transparency and is designed to end the question from management of
"what are we doing" or "who broke the build?"

"TFS Work Item Manager and TFS Project Dashboard are an
excellent demonstration of how RadControls for WPF can be used to build
key line of business applications in an efficient and effective
manner," said Vassil Terziev, Telerik Co-CEO. "Furthermore, these
applications are not just a showcase but ready-to-use tools that will
aid developers in release schedule planning. Our development teams use
the tools internally which also helped to built in them some of Telerik
development best practices. We are happy to share yet another free
productivity tool with the developer community."

Telerik Launches RadControls for Silverlight 3 for Line-of-Business Application Development

Newton, MA, August 12, 2009 - Telerik, a leading vendor of development tools and user interface components for the Microsoft .NET Platform, announced the official release of RadControls for Silverlight 3. The latest volume of RadControls for Silverlight takes advantage of new features in Microsoft Silverlight 3, providing support for Microsoft .NET RIA Services and DomainDataSource, validation and out-of-browser support, and offering a rich environment for the development of data-driven enterprise applications.

"Since 2007, when Telerik released the first-ever third party controls for Silverlight 1.0, we have been closely following the Silverlight release schedule to make sure that our suite supports the latest official version," said Svetozar Georgiev, co-CEO of Telerik. "We made available a build of RadControls for Silverlight against Silverlight 3 from its early beta stage and are now excited to present the official release of RadControls for Silverlight 3."

"Telerik's release of RadControls for Silverlight 3 allows developers to take advantage of the rich new features and capabilities in Silverlight 3 to efficiently build dynamic enterprise applications," said Steve Sklepowich, director for Silverlight at Microsoft Corp. "Microsoft is pleased with the various ways partners like Telerik are developing controls for Silverlight 3 that will enable developers to create robust line-of-business applications for the web and desktop."Telerik RadGridView for Silverlight allows developers to take advantage of the new capabilities in the Silverlight 3. For instance, RadGridView fully supports binding to .NET RIA Services, performing data operations on the server to speed loading, grouping, sorting and filtering. In addition, .NET RIA Services provides a set of server component extensions that makes development of n-tier applications almost as easy as single tier.

RadControls for Silverlight also introduces data validation and out-of-browser support which enables an application to be placed on the user's machine and viewed in the browser and on the desktop. Changes made to the desktop version will be automatically applied when the application runs online.

Pushing the envelope of rich data presentation, Telerik offers the first commercial 3D chart control for Silverlight and more than 30 controls for building rich line-of-business Silverlight applications.

Finally, because the Silverlight and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) controls that Telerik provides are derived from the same code base and share the same application programming interface, developers can re-use skills and code between the two platforms, maximizing the value of their experience and knowledge, and enabling them to build web and desktop applications more easily and effectively.

Telerik offers online demos, integration examples with cutting-edge technologies, technical documentation, forums and blogs to help RadControls for Silverlight customers in the development process.

Pricing
RadControls for Silverlight is available with a Developer license for $799 and with a Developer license with subscription and source code for $999. The license comes with priority support (guaranteed 24-hour response time), full C# source code, redistribution rights and free updates for the latest products for one year. The toolset works without license keys and can be freely deployed on an unlimited number of development, testing and production servers. Hundreds of code samples are provided to accelerate learning.

About Telerik:
Telerik is a leading vendor of development tools and components for the Microsoft .NET platform. Developers from most of the Fortune 2000 companies, many of the world's leading educational and non-profit organizations, and thousands of consultants rely on Telerik products to build applications with unparalleled richness, responsiveness and interactivity.
http://www.telerik.com/

Telerik Embraces Open Source with New Extentions for ASP.NET MVC

Company's new OSS product line extends ASP.NET MVC functionality with server-based UI extension framework and client-side UI modules

Newton, MA, August 12, 2009 - Telerik, a leading provider of development tools and solutions for the Microsoft .NET platform today unveiled its new line of user interface (UI) extensions for ASP.NET MVC. Introduced as a Community Technology Preview (CTP), this latest addition to the company's family of .NET products amplifies ASP.NET MVC functionality by delivering a server-based UI extension framework that integrates with client-side UI modules based on popular JavaScript library, jQuery.

Today's release marks a milestone for Telerik, as it is the first time any of its technologies will be made available under an open source license. These newest ASP.NET MVC extensions will be offered under the Microsoft Public License (MS-PL), the OSI-approved license used in the distribution of the ASP.NET MVC framework. Under this license, developers can freely use and redistribute the Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC in all projects, both commercial and open source. A commercial license that includes support will also be available.

"Telerik is making a dedicated investment in support of the open source community with this release," said Vassil Terziev, co-CEO of Telerik. "One of our primary goals is to ensure open source developers not only have the tools they need, but also simple, hassle-free licensing enabling them to confidently use Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC in all MVC projects."

This first CTP of the Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC lays the foundation for the new UI extension framework, and offers an opening look at a number of UI components that leverage and build upon jQueryUI, including Accordion, Slider, Tab, DatePicker, and Progress Bar. A prologue to upcoming additions that are set to include more complex UI extensions, such as grids and menus, the preview highlights the company's novel implementation and unique product architecture.

"We are the first provider to ship a purpose-built UI suite that fully leverages the advantages of Microsoft's ASP.NET MVC framework," emphasizes Terziev. "By developing native architecture from the ground up that is tailored specifically to the ASP.NET MVC environment, we avoid many of the pitfalls associated with non-native controls that have their roots in WebForms. Instead, we are providing a model that is perfectly mated to the MVC platform."

ASP.NET MVC is a Microsoft framework enabling developers to build standards-based web applications using the model-view-controller pattern. ASP.NET MVC encourages clear separation of concerns and allows developers to build testable web applications benefitting from complete developer control over the emitted HTML, ultimately creating better performing web sites.

Unlike controls that are not engineered for ASP.NET MVC, Telerik's UI extensions provide precise control over rendered HTML. Using the Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC's fluent API makes it easy to add lightweight UI components to pages and effortlessly integrate with MVC controllers. Designed to work with any ASP.NET MVC view engine, these new UI extensions continue to deliver optimum levels of productivity without sacrificing the pattern, practices, and guidance of ASP.NET MVC.

"I'm happy to see Telerik's Extensions for ASP.NET MVC moving forward with an approach based on using Ajax to provide reusable components for ASP.NET MVC," said Phil Haack, ASP.NET MVC Program Manager at Microsoft. "I'm a firm believer that keeping as much 'control state' in the browser fits well with the ASP.NET MVC model as opposed to shuttling state back and forth as in the server controls model. Even better is that they are releasing it under the MS-PL, an open source license."

Online demos highlighting capabilities and functionality of the Telerik ASP.NET MVC Extensions CTP can be viewed at http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-mvc. More information and CTP builds are available for download at: http://www.telerik.com/products/aspnet-mvc.aspx.
Telerik Announces Support for Silverlight 3

Telerik Aligns Its RadControls for Silverlight with the Latest Microsoft Innovations

Newton, MA, July 13, 2009 - Telerik, a vendor of development tools and user interface components for .NET, announced that its newest version of RadControls for Microsoft Silverlight 2 released on July 6, 2009 also supports Microsoft Silverlight 3. It ensures that developers can use RadControls for Silverlight with the latest official Silverlight plug-in. The launch of Silverlight 3 and Microsoft Expression Studio 3 demonstrates Microsoft is innovating in core areas critical to the changing design and development landscape. Telerik will be implementing the platform's new breakthrough features shortly after the official Silverlight 3 release.

"Telerik has been a pioneer in Silverlight development tools since 2007, when we released the first-ever third party controls for Silverlight 1.0. Since then we have been very closely following the Microsoft Silverlight release schedule to make sure that a build against the latest official version is always available to our customers," said Svetozar Georgiev, Telerik CEO. "We have aligned our development plans from the very beginning with Microsoft's strategy for compatibility between Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Silverlight platforms. Currently 20 of our RadControls for Silverlight have identical WPF counterparts."

As the Silverlight and WPF controls that Telerik provides are nearly identical, developers can re-use skills and code between the two platforms, maximizing the value of their experience and knowledge. Both the Silverlight and WPF suites are derived from the same code base and share the same application programming interface (API). This innovative approach enables developers to build mirror Web and desktop applications with identical user interfaces (UI) much more easily. Telerik made available a real-life business application demonstrating the benefit from code reuse between the Silverlight and WPF UI and from implementing the Microsoft Composite Application Guidance for WPF and Silverlight (code-named "Prism") to showcase the benefit Microsoft technologies provide.

"RadControls is yet another great example of how easy it is for our customers and partners to use Microsoft Silverlight to rapidly develop the types of highly interactive experiences that customers demand," said Brian Goldfarb, director of the Developer Platform Group at Microsoft Corp. "Microsoft continues to be delighted by myriad ways customers such as Telerik are using Microsoft Silverlight to deliver enhanced user experience on the Web."

RadControls for Silverlight features more than 30 advanced user interface components for Silverlight, to provide developers with a powerful toolset for building line-of-business Silverlight applications. The latest version of the controls brings major additions: the first commercial 3D chart available on the market that will help developers create stunning data visualizations; new full-featured RadScheduler for Silverlight that will enable developers to add Microsoft Office Outlook-style scheduling functionality to their Web applications; improved LINQ-based Data Engine that allows for faster sorting, grouping, filtering and aggregation; improved support for Microsoft Expression Blend; new integration example demonstrating integration of Telerik Drag & Drop for Silverlight with the Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM) pattern.

First 3D Chart for Silverlight, Full-featured Silverlight Scheduler, Visual Style Builder and Free Testing Solution Are Among Enhancements to Telerik Premium Collection for .NET

Newton, MA, July 6, 2009 - Telerik, a leading vendor of development tools and user interface components for .NET, announced the Q2 2009 release of its RadControls UI components, Reporting, ORM and Web Testing solutions. Among the highlights of the enhanced Telerik Premium Collection for .NET are the first commercial 3D Chart for Silverlight, taking data visualization to another dimension; a full-featured Silverlight Scheduler, combining Outlook-style convenience with slick interface and advanced editing capabilities; and Visual Style Builder, enabling easy, point-and-click customization of skins for Telerik's RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX.

The new volume also introduces another product to Telerik's portfolio: WebAii Testing Framework, a product by ArtOfTest, a free Web Testing solution for automating AJAX- and Silverlight-powered Rich Internet Applications. Telerik announced WebAii Testing Framework separately today.

"Especially in this challenging business climate, enterprises feel tremendous competitive pressure to roll out increasingly rich, responsive and interactive Web applications," commented Al Hilwa, Program Director for IDC's Application Development Software research. "Consequently, developers need tools that abstract away the complexity of the rapidly changing .NET environment if they are to deliver applications on time and under budget."

"There is always a buzz in the office whenever Telerik ships a major update and the Q2 2009 release is no exception," said Josef Rogovsky, General Manager at Lifeline Total IT Solutions, Inc. "The new Listbox, Captcha, Panel and Image controls are incredible, and the new Visual Style Builder is impressive. Working with Telerik's controls has consistently saved us time and money. Their unparalleled support gives me confidence that real help is available when needed. I very much consider them an extension of my own developer team."

With the Q2 2009 release, Telerik brings major additions to the market's most comprehensive pack of more than 30 Silverlight controls. Telerik's 3D Chart for Silverlight, the first commercial product of its kind, will help developers create stunning visualizations of large volumes of data. The new full-featured Scheduler for Silverlight will enable developers to easily add Outlook-style scheduling functionality to their web applications.

"Our Q2 release of the Telerik Premium Collection for .NET brings us another step closer to supporting the developer community in all aspects of the development lifecycle," added Svetozar Georgiev, Telerik CEO. "Many of our customers look to Telerik as a one-stop shop for Microsoft .NET development tools and components. We continually enhance and expand our portfolio to address developers' new challenges and strengthen our unique position in the Microsoft .NET vendor community as a holistic provider of complete solutions."

Most of Telerik's Silverlight components have identical Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) counterparts, so that developers can re-use skills and code between the two platforms. Both the Silverlight and WPF suites are derived from the same code base and share the same application programming interface (API). Thanks to this innovative approach, Telerik makes building mirror web and desktop applications with identical user interfaces much easier. Seven new controls, derived from their Silverlight counterparts, are added to RadControls for WPF: Drag & Drop, ComboBox and Window, among them.

The ASP.NET AJAX suite further establishes its position as the industry's leading and most comprehensive toolset by expanding with several new controls and productivity tools. The axis of the new release is the introduction of the Visual Style Builder - a web-based skin customization tool, which allows you to tweak or build new skins with point-and-clicks, without writing a single line of CSS code. RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX has been enhanced with four more controls and across-the-board performance optimizations.

With the new release, Telerik also continues its dedication to providing a line of desktop components that is at the same time visually aesthetic and superior in performance. The new WinForms volume features performance enhancements in the underlying framework, resulting in minimized memory footprint and efficient re-painting. RadControls for WinForms reveals also a new major version of RadDock, with an abundance of new features and excellent drawing performance.

With Q2 2009, Telerik's enterprise-grade ORM, OpenAccess, offers full support for Views, which wraps up the database-supported features - Stored Procedures, Views and Tables - and, thus, becomes one of the few tools to offers such functionality. Another highlight of the new OpenAccess version is the support for SQL2000 and the enhanced Stored Procedures support for ORACLE, MSSQL 2000 and MySQL.

Telerik Reporting delivers enhanced performance and user experience with the new wizard for Cross Tabs, making the creation of highly informative reports a breeze. The tool brings also a convenient multi-page view for the Windows Viewer.

Pricing
The price of the Telerik Premium Collection for .NET (including all suites, Reporting and OpenAccess ORM) is $1,299 per developer seat. The license comes with priority support (guaranteed 24-hour response time), full C# source code, redistribution rights and free updates for the latest products for one year. All the tools work without license keys and can be freely deployed on an unlimited number of development, testing and production servers. A step-by-step self-paced tutorial and hundreds of code samples are provided to accelerate learning.

All component suites and tools are also available individually.

Telerik Introduces Free Web Testing Framework for ASP.NET AJAX and Silverlight

WebAii Testing Framework enables developers to automate AJAX or Silverlight applications in all major browsers and simplifies testing of RadControls

Newton, MA, July 6 - Telerik, the leading vendor of development tools and user interface components for .NET, today announced a new addition to its portfolio - WebAii Testing Framework (Beta), a product by ArtOfTest. WebAii Testing Framework is a free web automation framework that helps developers and Quality Assurance professionals easily write functional tests for AJAX and Silverlight applications. The framework offers one consistent application programming interface (API) that allows users to automate the user interface (UI) of web applications as part of regression testing. Besides Silverlight support, a key benefit of WebAii Testing Framework is the browser abstraction, which allows developers to create a test once and execute it against all major browsers.

"WebAii Testing Framework has been designed in partnership with ArtOfTest to address developers' challenges in testing modern web applications. Many people are not running functional testing because the tools are difficult, expensive, and lag behind from a technological standpoint," said Svetozar Georgiev, Telerik CEO. "The WebAii Testing Framework is free, supports complex AJAX scenarios on all major browsers, and most importantly supports Silverlight! Telerik's WebAii Testing Framework removes the barriers to functional UI testing."

The WebAii Testing Framework has been specifically built to cater to users' advanced testing needs. AJAX-based applications can be easily automated including complex UI actions like Drag'n'drop, Hover, Right-click, and more. Waiting on document object model changes is also supported as well as the option to invoke JavaScript functions from test code.

In addition to testing AJAX-based applications, Telerik's new WebAii Testing Framework also incorporates Silverlight Extension which makes automating Silverlight applications finally possible. It has a UI object model that mimics the complete list of UI XAML elements in Silverlight allowing developers to access everything as if inside the Silverlight application. Beside the ability to perform basic automation actions like clicking, moving and setting text, it also gives access to all properties such as brushes, borders and even transform matrices.

Telerik's WebAii Testing Framework is integrated with special wrappers for Telerik RadControls for AJAX and Silverlight exposing rich functionality that helps developers save time and effort when writing functional tests, even for very complex web applications built with the Telerik controls.

"The addition of the WebAii Testing Framework to the Telerik portfolio of .NET tools and components is another step in our strategy of serving the developer community in more aspects of the application development lifecycle," continued Georgiev.

Availability
WebAii Testing Framework is available for free download at Telerik Testing Tools section of its website or as a part of RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX and RadControls for Silverlight licenses. General availability of the free WebAii Testing Framework will be available later in the third quarter of 2009.

Telerik Trainer Powers Microsoft Germany's Visual Studio Learning Center

Telerik tool uniquely enables beginning developers to participate in interactive Visual Studio tutorials

Newton, MA, June 8, 2009 - Telerik, a leading provider of development tools and components for the Microsoft .NET platform, announced that the Telerik Trainer is enabling Microsoft Germany's newly launched Visual Studio learning center for application developers. After downloading the tool from www.telerik.com, developers can view online tutorials and participate in unique, interactive training sessions through Microsoft's online portal.

"Telerik Trainer is the ideal e-learning tool for programmers. It features an innovative approach of combining multimedia, web content and hands-on integration with Visual Studio-just what we needed for our beginner learning content on the German Visual Studio website," said Uwe Baumann, product manager developer tools at Microsoft Germany. "Further, Telerik Trainer's authoring interface is very intuitive, enabling us to roll out our tutorials very quickly. Congratulations to the friendly, competent and passionate team at Telerik."

The Visual Studio development system is a comprehensive suite of tools designed to help software developers create innovative, next-generation applications. Microsoft Germany initially considered developing its own training application for the Visual Studio learning center but sought to leverage the Telerik Trainer instead, primarily because of the application's unique integration with Visual Studio. For example, a developer can open a Visual Studio project while watching a tutorial, and Telerik Trainer will automatically navigate to the appropriate code file and line number. The application also features synchronized highlights and topical table-of-contents navigation, leverages latest Microsoft .NET innovations such as Windows Presentation Format (WPF), Windows Communication Format (WCF), Language Integrated Query (LINQ), etc. and automatically updates itself-all of which contribute to a training experience of unmatched ease and relevance.

"Telerik Trainer has been designed from the ground up to deliver the most advanced and effective, self-paced training available on the market today," said Ivo Nedkov, unit manager of the ASP.NET division at Telerik. "It has been our pleasure to work with Microsoft Germany on its Visual Studio learning center, and we welcome the opportunity to share resources such as Telerik Trainer with other organizations and encourage ongoing .NET development."

In regular contact with Microsoft about upcoming .NET releases, Telerik is able to anticipate forthcoming technologies and roll out associated tools and controls for its customers. In this way, Telerik-a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, Visual Studio Industry Partner (VSIP) and member of various Microsoft Technical Adoption Programs (TAPs)-effectively future-proofs an enterprise to take advantage of Microsoft .NET development.
For more information on the Telerik Trainer, visit http://www.telerik.com/support/trainer/info.aspx.

About Microsoft:
Founded in 1975, Microsoft (Nasdaq "MSFT") is the worldwide leader in software, services and solutions that help people and businesses realize their full potential.

About Telerik:
