If you think VoIP is not for you, you are not alone. However, you are definitely not amongst the majority who think VoIP deployment is essential for their organizations. There is a problem here, though. Several of this group find VoIP management difficult and refrain from adopting it in their organizations. The solution to the complexity of VoIP management, if you ask me, is a professional telecom management team. Outsourcing? Yes, I am asking you to outsource the management of your VoIP network and I have a simple reason for it: let the professionals take care of it while you pay attention to your core business.

If you are still wondering whether or not you need VoIP, let me tell you that VoIP is important for several reasons. First, VoIP will reduce your telecommunication expenses drastically, helping your organization increase its profits. Second, VoIP integrates voice and data services, saving you the trouble of maintaining separate networks for them. Third, VoIP offers high scalability. Thus, you can keep on expanding your VoIP network without much worry. Fourth, VoIP decreases your operational costs. This happens because of the integration of services provided by VoIP. Fifth, you can take your business from one place to another without a problem as VoIP relocates with you without a hitch.

The benefits of VoIP are plenty. Don’t let the complexity of the technology keep you from reaping the benefits. Hire a professional team to take care of its deployment and management. And, no, it won’t cost you a fortune. You will need to pay only a fraction of what the VoIP network will save for you.

Your telecom consultants become partners in making sure you get the maximum benefits from your telecom network. You can understand how important they are. Thus you have to really make sure that you select the ones that you can trust and be comfortable with.

Don’t go for a telecom management company just because it says it is good. Find out how long it has been into the business. I don’t mean to say that an older company will be necessarily better than a new one. When you inquire about its tenure, a relatively new company will give you instances of its good work. You can get a better image of the companies by looking into their past work.

In fact, you should ask the companies for instances of savings they have realized for their clients. A telecom management company may give you a certain figure saying that it will help you realize savings. Make sure the figures are not just on paper.

If the company has server businesses your size and stature, they may be better suited to understand and meet your needs.

Find out if the company owns telecom management products or brokers for some other company selling such products. I would say it is better to avoid such companies as they would focus more on selling their products to you without understanding your business’ needs.

Inquire about the consultants’ payment structure upfront. Go for a company that charges you on a contingency basis for savings-based services. This means, it takes its payment from the savings it realizes for you.

Never decide on a telecom management company in a hurry. Always check many companies before deciding on one.

Here are the main reasons why you should employ Telecom Expense Management (TEM) in your organization.

TEM recovers the money that you have lost as telecom expenses because of errors in billing and accounting.

It introduces measures to manage your telecom expenses efficiently, thereby saving you more money.

TEM releases the resources who are managing your telecom expenses for other priority work, thereby helping your organization increase its utilization.

It tracks down any unlawful practices by your telecom vendor and stops them. Your vendor may intentionally (slamming) or unintentionally add services to your plan that you never asked for.

TEM automates invoice processing.

It tracks instances of misuse, overuse, and abuse of the telecom services.

TEM is typically paid for on a contingency basis.

Management of telecom expenses is important, and a professional team manages them effectively. You may think that you can handle the expenses on your own, but you will be surprised to find out that there are several areas that are not looked into for expense reduction. Take, for example, the errors in billing. It is only when a bill is flagged that most organizations look into the bills. More often than not, their audits are limited to the problem area, ignoring several other factors that may be contributing to the problem.

If you want to reduce your organization’s telecom expenses, go for TEM which is a complete package. However, make sure you hire a good telecom management company for the task.

Jack of all trades cannot be master of anything. This maxim applies to businesses as well. If you have to look after the peripherals of your business, you may not remain as efficient in your core business. And even if you are good at managing your business, you may be not be doing a good job of handling everything around it. I say, why take every responsibility on your shoulders when you have professionals to handle the peripherals. When it comes to handling your telecom network, you should hire the services of a telecom consulting company. Let me explain why.

Even if you have an internal audit team, the telecom contract is hardly looked into and reviewed. More often than not, a contract keeps getting renewed blindly term after term. And most of the time, no one understands the telecom contract properly. Organizations also miss studying the usage patterns of their telecom services. Bills are looked into only when a problem is found, thereby missing out on the scope to recover costs proactively.

A professional telecom management team not only looks at recovering costs and rectifying the problems in the telecom network but also strives for future reduction of expenses and optimization of the telecom network. Telecom consultants centralize the procurement and payment structure for telecom services.

Organizations are often unaware of their telecom needs. Consultants help find out the current needs and recommend services that align with the needs. They also identify the future needs and help businesses strategize for the future.

It’s not a thin line that separates maintenance from management. In fact, there is a big difference in the terms. Some organizations think that the management of the telecom network refers to its monitoring and maintenance. In fact, the term ‘monitoring’ is also not understood in the right perspective here. Why am I saying all this? Because I want to discuss what telecom management actually means.

It starts with procuring the right telecom service for your organization. You have to compare vendors, their plans, and their tariffs in order to make a decision. Next, you have to study the telecom contract thoroughly and understand it before signing it.

Telecom management also requires you to keep your inventory in order. A poorly-maintained telecom inventory cannot yield you benefits that you want from your telecom network.

Next comes monitoring the performance of your telecom network. You have to ensure that it operates smoothly and troubleshooting is fast and effective. You have to keep track of the downtimes of telecom services and bring them to the notice of the vendor.

You have to review bills regularly for errors to ensure you are not paying more than you should. You have to check if your vendor has not added any service that you never asked for.

You have to always ascertain that the services align with your business’ telecom needs. You have to analyze current needs and usage to predict future needs and plan modifications accordingly.

If you haven’t been doing all this, you haven’t actually managed your telecom network. Hand it over to a team of professional telecom consultants before it’s too late.

There was a time when if you did not have a cell phone, you were not happening. Now, if you don’t have one, you are either a pauper or a fool. Wireless is the norm of the day, for individuals as well for businesses. And a wireless network definitely brings in several benefits for a business. The reason many organizations continue to be wary of wireless services is the complex technology that makes its difficult to manage the network.

While it is true that the technology is comparatively new, and therefore, may appear a little complicated, managing the telecom network is all about following some simple steps, with the right know-how.

As with everything else, start with a needs analysis to understand your business’ telecom needs. Next, figure out which vendor and which plans suit your needs. For this, you will need to compare different vendors. Once you have zeroed in on a vendor and a plan, procure the services.

Procurement is a big decision but what comes next is the biggest part of wireless management. It’s about monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing the network. This is where you will need the technical expertise.

Inventory management, usage management, and regular audits form integral parts of wireless network management.

If your organization does not have the requisite knowledge to manage the wireless network, hire the services of the professionals. A professional telecom management team not only provides you an end-to-end management solution from needs analysis to maintenance and optimization.

Expansions are often difficult, and sometimes dangerous, if the foundation is not strong. The same applies to technological foundations. Your telecom network will not be able to accommodate your ambitions and growing needs if it is not being looked after properly right now.

A poorly-maintained inventory, a non-performing telecom network, untracked usage, lack of expense management will not only keep adding to your business expenses without giving you enough benefits but also make expansions impossible for increasing telecom needs.

One of the things that are considered a deterrent in VoIP deployment is a poorly-managed network. First you need to ensure that your telecom network is giving you optimum results. Only then can you think of adopting newer technologies or getting new telecom services.

If you think you won’t need to expand your telecommunication network, you either don’t have ambitions or lack the foresight. A couple of decades ago, organizations weren’t thinking about wireless technology invading each and every corner of business and life. And today, you cannot survive without going mobile.

The technological changes and the telecom needs are gradual. You cannot think of stalling operations and overhauling your network to accommodate new changes. You have to make space for the ongoing changes as and when your business needs them.

If you think your current telecom needs are not properly identified and the network is not looked after properly, you should hire a professional telecom management team to take care of things. Not only will such a team organize your network but also make you aware of your needs, usage, and expenses. Don’t let a bad system affect your future growth. Take action now!

Your telecom network may well be your biggest asset. All your business communication thrives on it. Downtime can affect your business in a big way. Need I say more?

Yes, I am talking about how important telecom management is for you. I know you may point out that you have some sort of telecom management system in your organization, but is that good enough? I am talking about professional management for your telecom network. In case you are not in favor of outsourcing this management, let me tell you why I recommend it.

You get to understand and analyze your telecom needs and procure a telecom service accordingly. Now, you have a business to take care of; you cannot actually spend time figuring out what your business telecom needs are. This is where a professional team helps. Once your needs have been identified, this team goes out to get the best telecom deal for you. And no, it doesn’t make decisions on its own. It presents you with facts and figures on different vendors and plans and then lets you decide. Then you will be making an informed decision.

You signed a great deal, now what? A professional telecom management team will help you recover costs and reduce further expenses by performing an audit. In the audit, it will check previous and existing bills for errors. It will also make sure you pay only for what you use. Apart from expense management, it will also monitor the usage of the telecom services. It will track instances of misuse and abuse and take steps to stop them.

Inventory management is also an important part of telecom management. A professional team will look after the inventory, making sure that it is utilized in the best possible way. It will also bring along automation, automating areas such as invoice processing.

Outsourcing telecom management ensures that your network is looked after all the time. This ensures that the network operates smoothly. The telecom management team offers quick and effective troubleshooting support in case of a problem.

Outsourcing will definitely rescue you from hiring, training, and maintaining a team of people for the management of the telecom network. Oh yes, I forgot to mention a professional team will strive to reap the maximum benefits of the network. Do you need more reasons?

I have always recommended hiring a professional team to handle matters related to your telecom network. Telecom consultants not only bring their expert knowledge but a new perspective to looking after your telecom network. We may often miss some obvious problems when we handle things on our own. The professionals have the eye to find problems and resolve them.

Let me explain how exactly a telecom management company helps you.

It lets you take an informed decision on procurement by providing you information about different vendors, their plans, and their tariffs.

It makes sure you understand the telecom contract before you sign it.

It organizes your telecom inventory and makes necessary changes to it.

It helps centralize the payment and procurement structure.

It monitors the performance of the telecom network and ensures that it runs smoothly. For this, it provides effective and on-time troubleshooting.

It keeps track of all the downtimes in the telecom services so that you do not get billed for the times when you don’t use the service.

It reviews bills to make sure there are no errors in billing.

It analyzes bills to ensure that you are not being billed for services you don’t use or never asked for.

It introduces several measures to reduce telecom expenses.

It looks at optimizing the performance of the telecom network.

It identifies the future telecom needs and helps draw a strategic plan for meeting those needs.

The telecom management team can provide you an end-to-end management solution, letting you focus on your core business.

It is a complex technology. And being relatively new, VoIP is difficult for everyone to make sense of. Internal teams often fail to manage the regular telecom network effectively. VoIP’s complexity makes things no easier. A telecom management company can provide you an end-to-end management solution starting from the pre-deployment phase.

You don’t have the requisite knowledge. Now, admit it. You are deploying VoIP because it offers benefits but your internal resources were never supposed to be experts on VoIP. They don’t have the technical know-how. Even if they manage the deployment, they cannot be expected to help deliver optimum benefits of the network.

Your other work suffers. VoIP importance makes you engage resources from other departments to manage it for you. However, you end up making other important tasks suffer. Outsourcing VoIP management will ensure your resources are focused on their tasks and no area of your business takes a beating.

Your current network is not well-managed. VoIP cannot be deployed if your existing telecom network is not well-equipped to accommodate it. If the internal team has not been effective with the management of the regular network, you cannot expect it to do wonders with VoIP.

Handing over VoIP management will not only ensure proper management but also give you the peace of mind to focus on your core business.
