Dates Set for 2012 Leadership Camps

The Ted Nolan Foundation is very pleased to announce the dates for our leadership camps in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia and Onondaga Farms, Ontario.

Tatamagouche camp will be held Sept. 26 – 30, 2012 and this will be our third year in Atlantic Canada.

Onondaga Farms camp will be held Oct. 17 – 21, 2012 and we look forward to our fourth year in Ontario.

Applications have been sent to all students who attended camp last year so please return your forms as soon as possible. New students are being selected and your spot may not be available for late applications.

Please read carefully the Eligibility Requirements as a few new requirements have been added.

Please note that the deadline date for submission is June 30, 2012 and we look forward to receiving your applications.

The Rose Nolan Memorial Scholarship was established to recognize Aboriginal First Nation women who are achieving their educational and training goals while maintaining strong community involvement.

Scholarship awards will be given annually to Aboriginal First Nation women who have recently completed at least one year of full time studies at any accredited post-secondary educational or training institution.

Again, this year, the Ted Nolan Foundation will be awarding a number of scholarships to Aboriginal First Nation women in honour of his mother, Rose Nolan.

President, Ted Nolan would like to thank CN for their generous donation as he recently attended their 7th annual event that Employee’s and Pensioner’s Community Fund has held and helped benefit charitable organizations.

Ted was thrilled to help coach the employees of CN against former players of the Montreal Canadiens hockey team.

Through your contributions you have made a huge impact on our foundation and from the bottom of our hearts we all thank you!

CN Hockey Greatest Stars Challenge

Media invitation – The seventh CN Hockey Greatest Stars Challenge will be held Nov. 19, 2011
MONTREAL, Nov. 17, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ – CN (TSX: CNR) (NYSE: CNI) announced today that the seventh CN Hockey Greatest Stars Challenge will be held on Nov. 19, at the Saint-Michel Arena, in Montreal.

A team of CN employees will face off against former Montreal Canadiens players. All proceeds from this friendly match will be donated to charitable organizations supported by the CN Employees’ and Pensioners’ Community Fund, notably the Marie-Vincent Foundation and the Ted Nolan Foundation.

Over the last six years, the CN Employees’ and Pensioners’ Community Fund has raised more than $600,000 for charity through this event.

The CN team will be led by Ted Nolan, the former coach of the Buffalo Sabres and New York Islanders, while Guy Lafleur will head the team of former Canadiens comprising Donald Audette, Steve Bégin, Patrice Brisebois, Guy Carbonneau, Mathieu Dandenault, Gilbert Delorme, Normand Dupont, Karl Dykuis, Gaston Gingras, Jocelyn Lemieux, Sergio Momesso, and Stéphane Richer.

A Big Thank You to THCF Onondaga Farms

The Ted Nolan Foundation would like to thank everyone at the camp in Onondaga Farms starting with John Malcolmson, camp manager, Kevin Lindner, program manager and staff for all their great work.

It was our third year and 140 students are very grateful for the opportunity and experiences they have gained but most of all the compassion the staff and camp leaders have shown.

A special thank you goes out to the cooks for the terrific food and bus drivers for transporting the students to and from their communities.
