HP ProBook S-Series

The HP ProBook S-Series is the latest laptop for the 9 to 5, suited and booted crowd. Billed as ‘business laptops’, the ProBook S-Series will be available in 14.1″, 15.6″, and 17.3″ versions.

Whichever version you choose, you can opt for either an AMD or an Intel processor, SD card reader, optional Blu-Ray drive, and HDMI out. The 15.6″, and 17.3″ versions also come with a numeric keypad (why exclude it from the smaller 14.1″ model we don’t know). Unusually for HP, the HP ProBook S-Series also offers you the choice of having Linux pre-installed or Windows Vista when the laptop ships. You also get an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics card thrown in for when you have ‘down time’ at the office and want to get your DOW 2 on.

With prices starting at $529, you could say that the HP ProBook S-Series screams upper-midrange, which, funnily enough, is quite an apt turn of phrase for the business types who will probably go for this.

Release date unconfirmed but expect it to be well into June before the HP ProBook S-Series laptops hit our shelves.

Logitech PS3 adapter for Harmony remotes

Finally the Logitech Harmony One can finally become the only remote you will need.

Logitech this weekend confirmed that it's developing an adapter to let its Harmony remotes work with Sony's PlayStation 3. The peripheral will convert the Harmony's IR signal to Bluetooth and will let users with mixed home theatres treat it like any other hardware in the setup, including power functions, playing movies and synchronizing with other devices in activity macros. It won't require a USB port for its own power, Logitech said.

Other technical details as well as a launch date and a price are currently unavailable.

Acer Aspire Revo Price & Release Date Confirmed

The Acer Aspire Revo just keeps getting better and better. We previously posted that there will be 4 versions priced at £179.99, £249.99, £299.99 and £329.99 all released on May the 18th but now Acer have confirmed that the release date will be May the 5th and pricing will start at £149.99 for the model running Linux with only 1GB of RAM and 8GB of solid-state storage.

The Windows Vista, 2GB ram, 160GB version will be £249.99.

A third SKU comes bundled with Acer's wireless, Wiimote-esque controller and will cost £299.99.

The controller will also be sold separately and priced at £49.99 functioning as both a wireless mouse as well as twisting into a gun-like controller for use in games.

According to a new report, Samsung’s first Android handset will be the full touchscreen handset named I7500 which is due for a June release.

Sirius XM to launch iPhone app

Sirius XM narrowly avoided bankruptcy thanks to a last minute financing deal and now the company is looking ahead to the future. That future already looks a little rocky due to slumping new car sales which was an area of new subscriber growth for the satellite radio company. According to a CNet article, this is forcing Sirius XM to look at new initiatives in order to retain and increase subscribers in new areas.

One of those areas is with iPhone and iPod touch users. The article states that during the latest Sirius XM conference call it was announced that the company would launch an iPhone application in June. The application would allow current and new Sirius XM subscribers to access the satellite radio’s programming online through Wi-Fi or 3G access

World’s Smallest Helicopter

I have always wanted to be able to fly, but with the current innovations it hasn’t been a possiblity. Now, a new transport product was introduced as the World’s Smallest Helicopter that allows us a personal leisure transportation.

The Gen H-4 is a tiny personal vehicle that weighs merely 155 pounds and has enough room for one person to fly on. As you maneuver, fly and occupy it, it is the closest thing to personal flight besides the personal jet packs we previously seen.

The only downfall is still the hefty price tag of $35,000, but for those who can afford such toys…it could be a touch of heaven.

ASRock came to this year’s CeBIT very determined to impress everyone with its new NetTop S330.

The machine runs on an Intel Atom 330 processor and it’s fully capable to handle 4GB of DDR2 RAM. Also, it features a 160GB hard drive (2.5-inch), GMA950 graphics, gigabit Ethernet, VGA output, a Super Multi DVD burner and last but not least audio in / out.

Sony’s New Lilac PSP, Hannah Montana and Assassin’s Creed Entertainment Packs

Thinking about its girl fans Sony decided to customize its Lilac PSP line-up with two new flavors.

The Hannah Montana Entertainment Pack costs $199 and in return you’ll receive a UMD with a few HM episodes, Miley’s PSP game, a 2GB memory stick and various colorful stickers. Panasonic Announced "3D Full HD" For Blu-ray by 2010

Panasonic is thinking very seriously about implementing the 3D Full HD technology in their Blu-ray devices and that’s why they will open a new 3D authoring laboratory in California at the Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory.

Hopefully by 2010 they will manage to bring this technology to Blu-ray and in order to do that Panasonic is working closely with various studios. Together they’re trying to make sure that the 3D FHD will be the next video standard in cinematography.

For now, the products that can make all this possible are the 3D-ready digital projector with its 380-inch screen and the Plasma 3D Full HD home theater system.

Let’s keep out fingers crossed and hope that everything will work out for the best.

At the Fuitsu Ten Limited / Eclipse hosted at CES the company presented their new AVN726E auto navigation system that can open / close by a simple touch of the button.

The AVN726E comes equipped with a 7.0 inch touchscreen and on the inside it hides an SD card for updating maps and other digital files. Another great thing about it is that it also includes a CD/DVD, a USB port for MP3 players not to mention that it’s 100% iPod ready for video / audio playback. Also, it offers SIRIUS and XM tuners and HD Radio tuners with iTunes Tagging.

In addition to all that the AVN726E Navigation System features Bluetooth support and a rear-view camera compatibility while incorporating anti-theft measures.

This navigation system was named best of Innovations at 2009 CES and will be officially available in stores starting April 2009.

Panasonic’s New Lumix DMC-GH1

Back in 2008 Panasonic was proud to release on the market the first Micro Four Thirds camera: the Lumix DMC-G1. Today time has come for the new DMC-GH1 to take the stage.

The case is very similar to the one its predecessor was wearing, but wait before jumping in to any conclusions you should ‘til you hear what this baby can do. Using the AVCHD format the cam can handle 720p recording at 60 fps and 1080p at 24 fps.

The menu of this 12.1 DSLR allows you to make stereo audio recordings, to set the aperture and the shutter speed manually and to use auto focus, face detection and iPhoto-style Face Recognition features.

Beambox’s Evolution R-1 Pico Projector

After releasing the very delicate and tiny Pocket Projector on the market not so long ago, folks at Beambox decided to impress their audience one more time and unveil the new Evolution R-1. They’ve lost the „delicate” along the way but they kept the „tiny” so we’re still ok.

The Evolution R-1 uses a LcoS chip and offers a VGA (640 x 480) resolution, 30 lumens of brightness, a 200:1 contrast ratio and the ability to project a 100-inch image. Also, the device also features a microSD slot and 4GB of onboard Flash memory.

The R-1 will be available in white, black, silver and red color versions starting March 20th with a £250 ($360) price tag.

Philips’ BDP3000, BDP5000 And BDP7300 Blu-ray Players

The North American Blu-ray and DVD Philips center was recently moved to Funai and that’s it’s hard to say if this new trio of CD devices will travel to US in the nearest future.

According to some rumors, the BDP3000 (low-end) and the mid-range BD5000 will be DivX certified and the BD5000 will offer a USB 2.0 port for multimedia viewing.

On the other hand, the BDP7300 will boast with integrated 7.1 audio decoding and 1GB of storage space.

First on the market will be the 7300 followed closely by its friends but the details on pricing are yet to be determined for all of them.

Samsung’s New Pair Of 12 Megapixel Digital Cameras

Samsung Electronics announced for the US market a new pair of 12 megapixel cameras both equipped with 24mm ultra-wide angle Schneider lenses.

First in line comes the TL320 with its 3″ AMOLED display with HVGA resolution, followed by the powerful HZ15W that offers a 24-240mm focal length.

The former sports an AMOLED display with a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, a 5x optical zoom, 720p High Definition video recording, HDMI connectivity, full manual shooting, Optical and Digital Image Stabilization and manufacturer’s Advanced Picture Mode.

On the other hand, the other is geared up a 3″ LCD display, 10x optical zoom, 720p High Definition video recording, manual shooting mode and Optical and Digital Image Stabilization.

Samsung’s TL320 will hit the stores in May with a $379.99 price tag while the HZ10W will arrive in March and will set you back $329.99.

TRENDnet presented at this year’s CES a whole bunch of gadgets and devices but one of the most interesting ones was without any doubt their new wireless router.

The TEW-673GR 300Mbps Concurrent Dual-Band Wireless N Gigabit Router was structured on the dual-band Atheros chipset and it can very easily work with 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks in the same time. This means that low-bandwidth clients will be assigned to the 2.4GHz band while the high-bandwidth ones will use the 5GHz band.

The price and release date are yet to be determined but we’ll keep you posted with more information as soon as possible.

Atom-based Allio Lite LCD TV-PC From Silicon Mountain

After releasing their first Allio LCD TV-PC a few months ago, Silicon Mountain is getting ready to release a new and improved version of this machine.

The TV features remain unchained: 42-inch and 1080p and 32-inch 720p, but the netbook characteristics took some steroids and now they comprise a 250 GB hard drive, a dual-core Atom 330 processor, 2GB of RAM, a DVD drive and a Vista Home Premium OS.

This new Allio Lite LCD TV-PC is cheaper than before. The 42-inch model will set you back $1,599 while the 32-incher costs only $1,299.

Sony Bravia VE5

Sony VE5 Series are the V-Series models on steroids. The only thing amazing about them is the Motion flow 120Hz technology together with the Full HD 1080p resolution.

The Series boast with energy-saving Presence Sensor feature and that means the picture will be automatically powered down if the sensors don’t detect any movements. As soon as people will reenter the room the picture will be restored.

Also, the Bravia VE5 has reduced the energy consumption by 40% thanks to its Hot Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (HCFL) that simply turns off the components when the TV is turned off.

Sony will release these televisions in 40, 46, and 52 inch models and they will al be available on the market before Summer.
