There must have been something in the air this weekend, I made a veggie chili Friday night. Maybe it was just the fact that the air has been so cold that made it feel right.

Yesterday morning, upon return from the farmer's market, I was greeted by the smell of chili spices as I walked in the door. Good olfactory vibes.

You need to get you to Victoria Gastro Pub in Columbia. They serve duck-fat fries 7 days a week and they are glorious. Every cooked food should be made in rendered duck fat.

Tamra: I'm not sure about the broth. I've read a few reviews that suggest that they don't, but I haven't had enough to know the difference. India Gate and Sapphire are both in Laurel. Beyond that, there's plenty I haven't been to.

Mmmm. My papa introduced me to pho many years ago. He has a favorite lil place he likes to go over in Arlington. Do you know by any chance if they make their own broth here? (Things my dad notices)

Know any good Indian places you want to review? ;) My parents used to frequent the place down in Annapolis but they've raised their prices considerably and the place isn't quite what it used to be according to him.

yellojkt: It's faster than Comcast ever was, plus has lower latency. Most important -- and what I didn't note above -- is that I've only had one outage (which was during an 8-10 hour power outage, during which time I couldn't have utilized it anyways) since I got it; world's above Comcast in the uptime department.

Damien/Matt: I've thought about calling. I've got the cheapest/slowest data-only plan. Aside from wanting to keep me on as a customer, I'm not sure what room I've got to bargain with. I really wish they'd start to offer multi-product discounts, like if you have cellular service with them.

I've had FiOS since it was rolled out in my neighborhood. Last spring, I called them to find out if I could lower my bill - at that time they said that I was not in a standard bundle and that I had special "discounts" applied to the bill (sounds like a bundle to me) but that the discounts would expire in September. I called back in September and moved into a new bundle where I moved from 5/2 to 10/5 or something (I can't fill the pipe anyway so I doesn't matter). The interesting thing was that my bill went up by about $10, when I asked what would happen if I did nothing, I was told it would go up by ~$35 - so I opted for the bundle.

If I had reliable cell service within the confines of the house, I think I'd dump the voice service - but there are only 3 cell towers in my neck of the woods and I live on the edge of two of them...

FiOS is actually slower than the Comcast service I gave up, but it is so much less hassle. I think I'm on a two year contract, so I will see if they jack up my rate as well.

Good write up and it sounds familiar as I just finished installing one of these today. Actually, I did it over 3 days - power head and rail, mounting, and then wiring. It worked without a hitch on the first try and I agree, it's smooooth!

My only improvement would be to fix the sensor wires to the ceiling rather than clip them to the rail. I also wish that the power head mounting holes were on tabs parallel to the track rather than perpendicular.

They did a great job matching colored hardware bags with colored sections of the instruction sheets. It was a good weekend project!

Daryl: True, hiring a contractor to do an install is always an option. If it were a direct trade-off between my time and money, it would definitely be worth it to hire out. Unfortunately, the last "professional" install was a bit on the shoddy side. Between that and the pride I can take in doing my own work to my house, this time around it was worth it.

DJ: "We accept CASH. Just cash, my friend." So says a sign on the counter. Even if he had just rounded down, it was still a buck or two discount.

Jon: But then there wouldn't be Doug. :( There's got to be someplace where we could score some Chicago-style dogs.
