No more Tampons for iPad

Apple iPad is so covered up with pampers and nappies that you actually have to think hundred times before trying to copulate with it. Don't take me wrong here. I am not a bestiality fan ;-)

Apple has released their iPads with AT&T MicroSIMs which means that they only work with AT&T network. Now, there are jail breaks available but I am not going to go geeky here. John Benson on his website wrote that how he enjoyed the nakedness of iPad. He has cut down regular SIM into MicroSIM using Meat Cleaver and removed the tampon...err!! Lock!!

Spindex - A Failed Viagra Tablet Launch by Microsoft

While I was busy in my regular work, my tweet deck was popping up with SPINDEX related tweets. Thought for a moment was,"Aaaghh!!, yet another viagra kinda stuff spamming me". You know why? ... because the name synonyms with elopathic medicines like we have IODEX for pain reliever :)

Like regular testosterone rush whenever I see something new, I jumped over to try it out. I did it with left hand & then with right hand but eeww!! it didn't worked out. By left I meant 'Firefox' and Right stands for obviously 'IE'. Now, here are my observations of a fail launch.

First when I typed http://www.spindex.com, I was guided to the search engine. I thought that as if I have typed it wrong. So, I wrote Spindex in Bing but Bing didn't came up with regular website address rather links and news. Now, if it really is Microsoft project, then it should have been listed. Don't you think so? . Wondering why they went for .me domain. Did they thought that this will give them cool feeling like Apple? Smelling something burning, right? Ok. the website address is http://www.spindex.me for starter.

Second, as i goes in deep, i meant clicking the links, I was guided to page with white bottom, which is not visible when i click on FULL SCREEN view.

Did they made this page in Full screen view or what? Remember, that I tried with my left & my right!!.

Since I didn't had the invite code, I have to click on empty square box present in the lower torso. Once clicked, my left did something strange. The happy and buttery text that you always write to ask for invite code started from middle.. God, I am happy... My left still has the power to get the things in middle, I guess!!

:) Amazingly, my right did raise the thing to the right spot. Nothing bad about that.

The final push was though the dirty one. I meant, the Push Button. My left & My right was not able to go forward any further as the SUBMIT button failed to reach to any orgasm!! Ohh.. Do I have to explain this too? :)

Wateen Phishing Scam - Be Aware

I accidentally came across this website where they put in topic "A Real WATEEN HACK.100% SUCCESSFUL". As a user of Wateen, I thought of having a look that whats in the store. So, apparently someone has made up a website "http://internet-wateen.net/" and provided a short URL on forum i.e. "http://www.wateenusers.notlong.com" with same interface as your regular wateen login page (http://internet.wateen.net/). Once you try writing the username there, your username & password will be stored with the owner of the fake website and thats how he/she will use your accounts to browse around. Phishing at its best!!!

Trying WhoIs on this website lead me to:

Social Media usage in Building Country Relationships

Social Media is having quite a buzz since a while. People are trying their level best to make their presence felt in social media. Governments in the developed countries are already having their social media profiles. People interact with them through this channel and that's how they look over their problems and mistakes. As Sylar said in Last Episode of Heroes "Its a Brave New World".

Now, this social media is up for another front. Building Country Relationships. Now, that was something new for me till today. Reportedly, US officials and executives from eBay, Twitter and other web companies are to visit Russia to discuss social media to improve relations. They are going to explore ways to streamline their future relationships based on social media. Team will meet all the institutions who can help bring good faith to the cause like NGOs, Education sector etc.

Looking at ComScore report of May 2009 (its dated back, but we can have idea) we can see that Russia is the leader in the table of Highest Engagement Social Networking Country Audiences. whereas US came 9th.

Numbers might have changed since then. But its not about the numbers. Representatives of these governments have analyzed this information and they have came to the conclusion that the era of 'cold war' should come to an end. The relationships should take a U-Turn for the betterment of the world and societies respectively. People in both these countries can come across each other on one platform and discuss their differences. The hate , the venom and the enmity brought to the people due to past mistakes should vanish. That's where the social media will be the winner in the end. My two thumbs up on this step.

FaceBook Ads - Are they any worth?

Its been long since we have been seeing Facebook ads on the side bar But did you ever noticed them? Seriously? To me, the side bar in facebook is just a waste of space. They are not eye catching. They don't go with the flow either.

I was doing some uploads of the pictures on my personal account and I did noticed those ads. I was surprised to find out one Wimax Broadband ad and one ad of Eye Testing there. Now whats the target of those ads for my photo upload section. That was weird. Below those ads, facebook gave the option of More Ads. Now, who will go there and spend the time on un-related ads. I didn't had the single reason to give those ads go-ahead.

If facebook ads are there to help the businesses bring customers to their pages or groups, the this is simply wrong wrong way to do these kind of activities. If you follow Google Ads, they have their own feeling, their own touch. But facebook ads suck. They don't feel like monetizing either. What do you think folks?

Orbit Grab - Review

Orbit, a download manager, is in my use for quite long now and I loved it for simplicity and light-weightedness. But after the recent update, Grab has been acting weird. Its taking lots of CPU usage and memory. While there was nothing to grab actually as shown in picture, but Grab is still taking lots of CPU processing.

I don't know that if this is the case with you too or not. If you do have, then let me know how to fix this up.

Just done with 100 posts. I started this all up in May somewhere but lost it due to office work outside my land. But last two months were good for my. As I have learned quite a few things from blogging. Got intouch with nice people due to twitter. All in all, its going good. Just thought of posting my analytics for all so that professional bloggers can guide me out to improve the stats. Here is my report.

Speaking of these Pageviews, I don't find good result from Google adsense. So, once it goes to the some good extent, i will the share it too. I am still learning ....

Orkut Sharing Made Easy

Google has worked around to release the API for sharing the link with your friends on Orkut quite easily. Now, through this API, if you find any content good enough to share, then you just click on the link and there you go. This API is now on AddThis too. Content Sharing just got more expansion people.

Google Search Goes Real Time

Google earlier today showed the world that how they are going to incorporate the real time search in their search engine. Back some months, we heard that Google is gearing up for showing the results on the search result page from popular social websites like twitter. In order to include the search results returned from social networks, Google has made up a seperate search results box for real-time results. The results in the box continue to update as people share something on the social networks related to the searched term. Here is how Google explains the Real-Time Search.

Google Real-Time Search is currently in Experimental Labs but it will be out from lab soon. Google has given option 'LATEST' as the hint for using the real-time search. Its placed right below 'Anytime' in Options. If you click on 'Anytime', the result page will show the results from real-time search and regular search result.

Where as if you just click on 'Latest', the result page will show the real-time updated search results only. You do get an option of 'Stop Updating' for not to receive further real time search results.

AVG Upgrade Deadline - So What?

AVG, an anti-virus software, is quite popular in free and professional version of anti-virus softwares due to light weight behavior. AVG has recently released AVG 9 as their latest upgrade to their anti-virus software. I tried not to update it to see the behavior and i am receiving daily pop up once i connect my system to internet. The pop-up is not annoying so I used to cancel it and go ahead with my own work. But this morning, I came across this line on pop-up which pushed me to write the post. Here is the Pop-up that i receive daily.

Well, its December 8th right now. But its reminding me "Upgrade Deadline December 1". Now, is there something wrong with my interpretation or Is this pop-up designed to pop-up till December 1st? I don't understand that why its asking me to upgrade as my previous version is updating and running successfully. What's your interpretation?

Google Wave team has done a survey regarding what people like in Google Wave and What not. Team has just shared the results with the world. The top of the list in liking is 'The concept of Wave'. Most of the users of Google Wave didn't used the collaboration tool before so they were simply amazed at the power of the wave. That's why people also liked 'Ability to Collaborate' more. Here is the liking graph.

Among the dislikes or issues (thats what Google calls it), People actually didn't liked their loneliness. They voted more for "My Friend/Contacts don't have an account" under issue. Google Wave is invitation only so people who got invites share them with their friends and families. This is a slow process which actually paves the way for dislikeness. If you still don't own the account and waiting for one, well drop in your email address and contact at Google Wave Invite. People actually voted for "Its too slow" as the second worst thing. Personally, I feel this is not the case but the ability to catch up with the wave might bring people towards this opinion. See the issues graph.

Echofon - A Bad Firefox Twitter Client

I have been using Echofon for months now. Back in those days twitter was simple. Just simple 140 characters and there you go. But now twitter has got lists and other features like this. When these features started showing up, I thought Echofon might catch up too. So, I give it some time.

After sometime, I found that they did brought some update.. But hey, its just interface change. Nothing else. I was expecting more from them. So, I didn't gave up on them and tried to wait further. But this morning when I found one disgusting spam tweet in my Mentions, I thought of deleting that one with a click but wait. I forgot that I am using Echofon. They don't offer DELETE this Tweet feature. I was like WTF!!!

Just refer me any other good firefox twitter client , if you know of anyone in comments.

For this holiday season, GMail has offered its users to send a Post Card to their loved ones via snail mail. GMail will do all the work around for them and their loved ones will get one free card.

Physical Cards have always brought joy on the faces and they can be kept or hanged on the walk through. GMail made it quite simple for users. Now they don't have to go to Mall and go through all the cards to select the best one. They just have to write the message and the simplicity of GMail will do the trick for them in return. Nokia 2010 Plans - Maemo 6 powered mobile computer

Yesterday at Nokia Capital Markets Day, Nokia unveiled some key financial and technical steps they are going to take in year 2010. Nokia has been quite aggressive this year in bringing new smartphones to the market. It has also released Maemo based N900 mobile phone which is yet to hit the asian markets.

On technological advancement, Nokia is going to bring the change in UI (User Interface) of the Symbian based mobile phones. They are expecting to bring forward two major changes during mid and end of 2010. Maemo 6 powered mobile computer with iconic UI is expected to come out in second half of 2010. Like this year, Nokia will still make affordable mobile phones for the rural parts of the emerging markets. Ovi ecosystem needs to be further improved by giving the developers right tools to make applications.

If Nokia goes ahead with all these plans and successfully complete them, then I feel that they can enhance the market share to the great extent. Nokia has always came forward with excellent projects and we expect them to do same in the upcoming year. Go Nokia, Go!!!

Marriage News Brings Maximum Traffic to Your Site

This morning, while I was reading Google News page, i came across this entertainment section and was quite amazed at One Celebrity Marriage News there. I was not expecting something like this from 'Big Boss' Star, Shilpa Shetty. Don't feel like I have a crush for her, c'mon!!.. Its just Spicy news in the afternoon edition of South-Asia newspapers ;-)

So, I read this news out. Found link of her blog on that news (got this from Reuters),

"This is it!" Shetty wrote on her blog(www.shilpashettylive.com/blog) a few hours before the ceremony took place in Khandala, a hill station 200 kilometres from Mumbai.

So, I went in to check out what people were saying. Are there any Stalkers in Cyber world for her? But was shocked to see the blog page like this..

BANDWIDTH LIMIT EXCEEDED...Wow..So much fan following.. Now, I got this trick to bring traffic to my blog.

Once I get married, I will post the news and huge traffic will exceed the maximum bandwidth. I will get page impression...and will give me some bucks for my honeymoon trip :-)

But Whom am I? Did I kiss someone for AIDS funding on stage ;-)

Download Manager for Chrome

Chrome Browser is pretty new in the browser world but its going fast, rabbit fast!! Since its the new offspring so there is still time before we actually gets all the features what other browsers got. Download manager is one application that is still missing in the Chrome. But I try different way out to tackle this. I use Orbit Down-loader. You can download it from here, ORBIT

Download and Install it. Its pretty much easy to do that. If you can't just let me know in comments. Associate Orbit with Chrome from the Options (Preferences). In Preferences, go to Monitoring. There check the box before Chrome and Monitor Clipboard.

Re-start the Orbit down-loader so that changes take effect. Now open up your chrome browser. Download something and It should Work with Orbit Down-loader. There are times when this doesn't happen due to link connectivity. So, then you just right click on that link and select 'Copy Link Address'. Now, open up Orbit screen and click on NEW. And the link will be there automatically. Download it and there you go. Happy Downloading.

How to add Public Wave to Google Wave

When you are lonely on the Wave world and don't know that how can you actually test the capabilities of Google Wave, then try Public Wave. Through Public Waves, you can share with the wave world what you want to say public and you can browse around others Public Waves and interact with the rest of the Wave World. But mostly, people don't know how can they do this. Its simple. Just add 'public@a.gwave.com' to your contact list. Don't know how to do this. Well follow these steps.

Just Log-on to your Wave first...

Then add the address that I mentioned earlier.. like this

While You add, You will see that Google Wave won't be able to find the user. You don't have to worry about this. Just hit 'ENTER' on your keyboard. And you will find a new contact 'Public' in your list.

Click on 'Public' contact and you will find a new screen mentioning New Wave and Group Waves. Click on Group Waves and you will find all the waves what world is making public.

Here comes the Public Wave World. You will see all the language public waves.

See, now I have searched waves with word 'Chrome' in them by just writing it up in Search Bar. You can search with any keywords and criteria.

Now, writing your own Public Google Wave. Just Click on New Wave. Add Public contact by click on '+' symbol.

Just write something down.. add someone else from contact list if you want to share your public wave with other people. And hit DONE. You are now Global.

Now, search around like I mentioned in previous step for your public wave in Public Wave World. Happy Waving Folks.

Google Chrome OS announced

Google Chrome OS has been announced today at a press conference by Google. Chrome OS is the open source operating system for people who lives over the internet.

Google has made it open so application developers and web developers can now make their own application and share them over with Google team for uploading to the Google Cloud. This OS is primarily designed for Online applications i.e. those applications which works on browers. Right now, we don't have any idea that how are they going to tackle the Offline applications. Here in this video Google explains that what they actually thinks of Google OS.

About the security concerns, Chrome OS team said that all the data will be encrypted. Local data will consist of Cache only. Every time the system will boot up, it will verify the code against the cloud. If something is fishy, then it will reboot and back to the normal. All in seconds.Pretty amazingly fast. Here is what the Chrome OS team thinks about the security.

Chrome OS team said that their primary focus was on how fast they can make people go online. Instead of waiting for the splash screens to appear again and again, they wanted to create something on the needs model.Whatever is needed by people first, it should come first. So, people who wants to skip all this process of hardware initialization and stuff like that, this operating system is definitely for them. Here is how they took the time taking things from the boot process. Watch at the end of the clip. The 4 second boot up :)

Team also showed data transfer from camera to the OS. They emphasized on the detection of any kind of storage media on the Chrome OS. About the hardware devices, they mentioned that they are still in talks with the industry people over this one. Lets see whom they catch up first. Chrome OS is going to have its own netbook meaning a laptop from Google is around next year sometime. Team is actually making this netbook to work with latest 802.11 model wireless protocol. So, its going to be Wi-fi enabled netbook. Team is already in talks with Adobe team to bring in 'Photoshop on the web' to the Chrome OS. During demo, we saw Pdf file working on Chrome OS. So, this means that they are already on board with Adobe guys. Team did mentioned that printing will work on Chrome OS but they are working on something new which we can only see next year.

So, we are keeping our eyes on the things they promised. And by the way, did i mentioned that Chrome OS will be out in market by next year. Let us know what you think about it.

How To Test Your Internet Connection Speed & Line Quality

Time and again we come across problem of getting low bandwidth quality during our Online Time. So we call on our ISP and ask them about the nature of the problem. We ask on them that we are user of 2MB connection but we can't browse. This is simply insane. ISP people give us some lame excuses to shut us up and we carry on with changing out ISP and Computer.

There is still a way to check your internet connection quality before actually dialing on ISP. You get your tools first and then smack those ISP people with those tools, agreed!! So, there are two tools available online which are popular and which are authentic. First one is famously known as SpeedTest.net and the other one is a new one out of SpeedTest guys and thats is called PingTest.net.

SpeedTest.net actually checks your broadband speed that how much Download and Upload speed you are getting at that instance. Whereas PingTest.net actually checks on different matrics to calculate the Line Quality. PingTest is quite new with four categories to group the result. Here is classification from them.

A

An excellent result! Expect all Internet applications to work very well assuming you have sufficient bandwidth.

B

Very good! Your connection should work well for any Internet application. Some online games may not perform optimally.

C

Acceptable. Your VoIP quality will suffer some, and you will have a disadvantage in many online games. Most streaming media will be fine. You should try testing again to another server close to you.

D

Concerning. Most online applications will not perform well but should function in some capacity. Try testing to other servers to verify the result. You might need to contact your ISP for help.

F

Very poor. Real-time Internet application performance will suffer greatly on such a connection. Test to other servers to confirm the result, but definitely talk to your ISP about troubleshooting the issue.

I don't know that why there is no 'E' category to group the line quality. Perhaps they would have thought that people would be thinking about E=Excellent :-D . To learn further about it, visit the learning page.

Here is what I encountered when I tested my DSL.I got 1MB connection by the way. Its pretty much Ok thinking that I live in developing country ;-)

Google Image Swirl

Google Labs has came up with experimental feature of Image Search earlier today. They called it Image Swirl. Its the new way of viewing the image search.

Image Swirl basically works by linking up related images in a group or set. When you click on that image, the down under (subset) of that related image group will show up and you go on till you get to the final leaf of the tree. Algorithms behind this image search works like Related Search in regular search. The images are grouped & linked in hierarchy. Since its just a newbie, so for now its just entertaining 200,000 queries only. The results are displayed in Adobe Flash page format. You can actually Zoom-in and Zoom-out in search results area.
