REMEMBER, YOU SHOULD NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN – EVEN IF IT IS PARTIALLY COVERED. Instead, you can safely view this event indirectly by other means – like a pin hole projector.

To make one, get two stiff pieces of paper like note cards and poke a very small pin hole in the middle of one. (The smaller the hole the better). Stand with your back to the sun. Hold the card with the hole in it near you with one hand and hold the plain card a little farther away with the other hand. Let sunlight pass through the hole and project on the other card. You can focus the image by moving the two cards closer together or farther apart. You can safely look at the image on the farther away card and see the bright circle of the sun grow smaller and smaller until it becomes just a small crescent.

You can also use binoculars. Do not look through the binoculars. Uncap just one side. Stand with your back to the sun. Hold the binoculars so that the sunlight passes through the smaller side of them and project the image onto a wall. You can look at the image on the wall to see the eclipse.

The new line has been revitalized not just to include the latest Intel Ivy Bridge processors, but with other significant improvements as well. For example, the new ThinkPad X, T, and L series laptops will feature optional HD+ (1600 by 900 pixel resolution) displays. The new IdeaPad Y series laptops will offer the latest Nvidia Kepler graphics. And the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Ultrabook has been bumped up in screen size from 13 inches to 14 inches, with a new 1600 by 900 pixel resolution.

The new keyboard is more attractive than the ThinkPad keyboards of yore, and is more precisely designed. Starting prices range from $399 for the IdeaPad G Series to $1529 for the ThinkPad W530 mobile workstation.

There are almost too many new Lenovo laptops to mention, but here are the highlights:

ThinkPad X230Ultraportables:

ThinkPad X230 and X230t: 12.5-inch ultraportables weighing less than 3 pounds, with up to 24 hours of battery life (with optional battery slice) and an IPS display for richer colors and better viewing angles. The X230t is the convertible tablet PC version.

Starting prices: $1179 for the X230, $1479 with touchscreen.

Mid-size T Series:

ThinkPad T430, T430s, and T530: 14-inch and 15-inch thin-and-light laptops. Lenovo says the T430s is the lightest 14-inch ThinkPad with both docking and vPro (Intel’s laptop management and security technology). Currently, the T420s weighs 3.68 pounds.

Shaving the weight off, however, will cost you: The T430s starts at $1399 versus $879 for the T430. If you want a bigger version of the T430, Lenovo offers the T530, with a 15-inch full HD display.

You can take one of these laptops on a long distance round trip without worrying about battery life; the laptops are rated for up to 32.5 hours of battery life with a battery slice.

ThinkPad L530Budget Thinkpads:

ThinkPad L430 and L530: Affordable business laptops starting at $879. These “value” laptops are rated for up to 9.5 hours of battery life and have optional discrete graphics cards.

ThinkPad W530Mobile Workstation:

ThinkPad W530: the most powerful ThinkPad, supporting graphics-intensive applications. Lenovo has packed the W530 with a quad-core Ivy Bridge processor, Nvidia Quadro graphics chip, full 1080p HD display, and professional graphics (e.g., CAD and 3D modeling) applications.

Prices start at $1520.

ThinkPad X1 CarbonProfessional Ultrabook:

ThinkPad X1 Carbon is the lightest 14-inch Ultrabook, weighing just under 3 pounds. Prominent features include the 1600-by-900-pixel display, backlit keyboard, and 0.71-inch thickness.Carbon-fiber construction is responsible for the super light weight.

New IdeaPads:

Lenovo is also refreshing the Y, G, and Z series.

IdeaPad Y480 Gaming laptops:

IdeaPad Y480 and Y580: 14- and 15-inch laptops are for gamers, having Nvidia 600 series (Kepler) graphics cards, JBL speakers, and an optical drive (TV tuner and WiDi are optional). They are colorful looking too, with brushed metal casing. The larger Y580 offers a full HD 1920 by 1080 display.

The Y series start at an affordable (for a gaming laptop) $899.

G480 IdeaPads:

G480, G580, and G780: the most affordable of the new Lenovo laptops, starting at $399. The G Series laptops come in 14-, 15.6-, and 17.3-inch sizes (respectively). The base models will be upgradable to up to 8GB of memory, 1TB of hard drive storage, an Intel Core i7 processor, and Nvidia GT630M graphics. (Apart from the 8GB max memory, the other optional upgrades exceed Lenovo’s current G Series options.)

IdeaPad Z480 Everyday Multimedia:

IdeaPad Z380, Z480, and Z580: widescreen laptops at just $599. Lenovo’s 13.3-, 14-, and 15.6-inch (respectively) multimedia laptops offer optional Blu-ray drives, colorful cases, and spec options that include Intel Core i7 processors and Nvidia graphics cards.

The new features, which might be announced at Apple’s world-wide developer conference beginning June 11, will allow iCloud users to share sets of photos with other iCloud users and to comment on them.Currently, users can store only one set of photos in iCloud through a feature called Photo Stream, which is designed to sync those photos to other Apple devices, not share them.

Apple is trying to better compete in the red-hot market for photo sharing, dominated by fast-growing online services such as Facebook Inc. and mobile apps like Instagram.

The Cupertino, Calif., company is also working on a new feature that will allow iCloud users to sync their personal videos via iCloud. This will allow users to access “Notes” and “Reminders”—two of its apps for scrawl down quick thoughts—through iCloud.com. Currently, those items have to be accessed via apps for those features.

These features could come in Apple’s next mobile operating system, iOS 6, which Apple is planning to preview to developers in June, the people said.

ICloud’s Photo Stream limits users to accessing their last 30 days of photos, or 1,000 of them, on Apple devices as well as PCs. Its features, after the new sharing and commenting ones, will still remain basic compared with some other photo-sharing services.

When it comes to iCloud as a whole, Apple also limits which iCloud features users can access from a Web browser from any device to keep them buying Apple ones. Only a few iCloud features, like email and calendar, can be accessed through the iCloud website. The rest work by syncing content to other Apple devices, including iPads, iPhones and its Apple TV box. Apple executives continue to consider expanding the number of photos and albums users can store via iCloud to make the service resemble its iPhoto downloadable software. Slimmer Design:

According to Bloomberg, the new MacBooks will feature a slimmer framework powered by Intel’s latest third-generation Core-i processors, codenamed Ivy Bridge.

The choice of processors is a no-brainer. PC laptops with quad-core versions of these Ivy Bridge processors are already in the market and with Intel holding back on the dual-core and ultra-low-power models till June, it is pretty much sure that the new MacBooks will feature these chips. There are some screenshots from Geekbench, though note that these could still be fake.

With Ivy Bridge processors and its chipsets featuring native USB 3.0 support, the USB 2.0 ports on MacBooks will probably get the upgrade. Despite the fact that its Thunderbolt technology hasn’t been widely adopted, Apple is likely to keep faith with Thunderbolt. However,the thinner framework could lead to the removal of the Ethernet port, which is available on the Air only via an adapter.

To achieve this thinner design, it is speculated that Apple will trench the optical drive on the MacBook Pro. It’s a logical move, particularly as Apple has championed its online store in favor of physical media. The company doesn’t even ship Blu-ray drives with its laptops and there’s no native support in the operating system.

Of course, removing the optical drive would blur the lines further between the 13.3-inch MacBook Air and the equivalent MacBook Pro, which brings us to the next rumor scrap.

Nvidia Graphics

The next MacBook Pro will come with the latest Nvidia discrete graphics. According to  The Verge and ABC News this is not just a rumor, it’s a fact. Instead, the uncertainty is about the specific Nvidia graphics chip, with the GeForce GT 650M identified as a possible candidate.

Using this chip would mean that the MacBook Pro would carry out similarly to the HP Pavilion dv6, which comes with a quad-core Ivy Bridge processor and identical GT 650M graphics. We’re pretty confident that you’ll be able to play some of the latest games on this configuration at medium settings. It would also be perfect for Blizzard’s latest blockbuster, Diablo 3, which incidentally is available natively on OS X.

We suspect that the discrete graphics option will not be available for the MacBook Air. This would provide a vital distinction between the two series and ensure that the more portable Air would have good battery life.

Retina Display:

After the arrival of latest iPad, Apple would have to increase the screen resolution on its laptops to match the Retina Display on its tablet. We have been hearing that MacBooks would be getting an ultra-high resolution display since last year, but the 2,880 x 1,800-pixel screen that has been reported seems a bit incredible.

The latest rumors haven’t exactly confirmed any specific screen resolution, but we feel that anything less than 1,920 x 1,080 pixels would be substandard. After all, even Asus’ upcoming Ultrabooks will have full-HD displays.

The next version of Apple’s operating system, have reported finding high-resolution icons and other graphics resources designed for a Retina-class display.

OS X Mountain Lion:

Given the need for Retina-class graphics resources, we believe that Mountain Lion will be ready in time for the new MacBooks. WWDC is after all a developers conference, so it’s likely that the next version of OS X would be a key highlight. Apple previously launched OS X Lion together with the current MacBook Air, so it is ascertained that the company will once again pack the new OS with the new coming MacBooks.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 was one of the premier Android tablets when it launched in 2011, with specs that, at the very least, matched top tier Android tablets at the time. Unfortunately, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 looks more like a disappointing prequel, rather than a full-fledged improved  sequel. Samsung has informed that the Tab 2 10.1 will be available in Asia this quarter, but specific dates and prices have not been revealed.

Design of Samsung Galaxy Tab 2:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is both slightly heavier and a bit less graceful than its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. It still sports the same plastic backside, but now comes in titanium silver as opposed to white.

The tablet feels comfortable in our hands, but it’s a bit wide and feels awkward when trying to type and hold at the same time. Also, the bezel isn’t completely flush with the outer casing of the tablet, creating a slightly annoying edge.

When held in landscape, the top edge of the tablet seats five features: From left to right there’s a power/sleep button, a volume rocker, a 32GB capacity microSD slot, and a headphone jack. In addition, two 2-inch-long speakers stretch vertically along the left and right bezel. A dock connector and microphone pinhole sit along the bottom edge.

The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 trades in its predecessor’s 2-megapixel front camera for a VGA one, and while it retains a 3-megapixel rear camera, the LED support light has been exorcised. There’s no HDMI option, unfortunately, requiring you to purchase an additional accessory if you have plans to connect the tablet to a TV.

Features of Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1:

The Tab 2 10.1 is the second Samsung tablet, after the Tab 2 7.0, to ship with Ice Cream Sandwich installed. It comes with custom Samsung apps like Music Hub, Media Hub, and Game Hub, a built-in screenshot app, and the Mini Apps tray located on the bottom of the screen. Tapping it brings up a tray of apps consisting of a calculator, notes, calendar, music player, and clock. However, the most useful of these is still the task manager, which allows you to quickly kill any app running in the background; this comes in handy when apps become unresponsive.

The Tab 2 10.1 houses a 1GHz dual-core OMAP 4430 CPU, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. Tablet mainstays like 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi support, Bluetooth 3.0, and GPS are included as well as gyroscope, accelerometer, and digital compass support.

The basic look and design of ICS are retained, just with a TouchWiz skin and a few extra shortcuts for quickly turning off Wi-Fi, GPS, screen rotation, and so on. As an added bonus, Samsung offers 50GB of free Dropbox storage for the first year. The larger speakers deliver louder sound, but unfortunately don’t exceed the noticeable quality limitations most tablets adhere to.

Performance and Battery Life:

The Tab 2 10.1 uses the same PLS-based panel tech as the Tab 10.1, running at a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels; typical for most 10-inch tablets. Its clarity is as high as the original Tab’s, but either there are different tiers of quality when it comes to PLS panels, or Samsung really didn’t devote much time or effort to calibrating the Tab 2 10.1′s color. Like the Tab 2 7.0, the Tab 2 10.1′s screen looks noticeably greener and colors appear washed out when compared to the original 10.1′s.

When swiping through screens and navigating menus, the screen matches the sensitivity of some of the most responsive Android screens. Also, apps commence without delay and settings menu options appear readily after tapping them.

Tab 2 10.1 has a front-facing VGA camera and a 3-megapixel back camera. Compared with the Tab 10.1, the difference between images and video recorded on the front camera was quickly apparent. The 3-megapixel back camera fared better, capturing more details, but the Tab 2 10.1′s pictures still looked washed out and were lacking details and contrast.

While the Tab 10.1′s camera took a longer time to focus, it resulted in higher-quality pictures. 720p video playback from outside sources was smooth and crisp. 1080p files that were only a couple hundred megabytes in size, played fine, but files that were larger, say 1GB or looked less like a moving picture and more like a slideshow of images.

The battery also drains fairly quickly when tested by specialists.

Result:

Even if you’re a huge fan of Samsung’s Touchwiz interface and you’re champing at the bit to get yer hands on a 10-inch tablet, US$400 for the Tab 2 10.1 is still pushing it, given its rivalry.

This is still a dual-core US$400 tablet with 16GB of built-in storage. The quad-core Asus Transformer Pad TF300 is US$20 less for the same storage and US$400 gets you that tablet with 32GB of storage. The TF300 also includes Micro-HDMI and a higher-quality rear camera.

With that kind of competition, it’s difficult to see the Tab 2 10.1 as anything other than an overpriced sequel that comes up short in performance and isn’t exactly setting the world afire with unique features. We would rather have HDMI and quad-core power.

Support and Services:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 comes with a one-year international warranty. On its support Web site, you can download user manuals, drivers and software patches. Technical support is available via phone, email and online chat. In case of hardware failure the unit has to be brought to a service center for repair.

Manchester City finally became the Champions of England after 44 years. But it was not without drama, City almost lost the title to United when they enter the stoppage time trailing 2-1 to QPR and United are leading 1-0 against Sunderland. The stoppage time goals from Dzeko and Augero sealed the title for City against all odds. It was the most sensational Last day of  the season in the Premier League history. United fans were almost celebrating when just minutes left in the final whistle and City are trailing 2-1 but it looks like that this was City’s destiny to win the title.

Even City manager can’t believed that this really happened, he said after City won the title that “It was incredible — they deserved this. To win it like this is incredible. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a finale like this.We didn’t deserve to lose, we had a lot of chances and we deserved to win the game and championship.It’s fantastic for the club and the supporters after 44 years. It’s been a crazy season and a crazy last minute.”

He added: “Five minutes from the end, I didn’t think we’d win this game. But we deserved to win this and deserved to win the title. We were on top for 20 games.I think for us it was really important to start winning this championship, Manchester City can have a big future now.”

City got the lead in the match just before half time and at half time City were leading 1-0. But so were United against Sunderland. Things dramatically changed in the second half when QPR scored the equalizer just after the half time and they doubled their lead 25 minutes before time. At that time City fans stared to cry because they thought they just handed their rivals the title. While City are desperately trying to score and missing chances their manager Mancini is tearing his hair on the side lines in frustration.

Their moment came in the extra time when Dzeko scored from the corner in the 91st minute and just after 90 seconds Sergio Augero makes himself a City Legend when he scored the winner that makes City the Barclay’s Premier League champion.
