Sharing or Transferring of huge files is not possible because of storage space constraints or e-mail provider attachment constraints.You can use online file storage but such services also have file size constraints.In such a scenario you can use file splitter applications like WinMend File Splitter, that has easy to use interface and can be used for splitting and joining the split files as the original file from the same application.

Files can be split as blocks of memory (or) unit size can defined as (MB, KB, bytes).It can also be used to merge files. It can merge split files in the same directory back into a new file identical to the original one.

To Split Files :

Install and open the WinMend File Splitter, and under Split File Tab, browse and select the file to be split and the destination location of the split files.

Next specify the number of blocks or block size unit and press “Split”.

This will result in a batch file(.bat) and split files.

To Merge Files :

Open the WinMend File Splitter, and under Merge Files Tab, browse and select the .W0 file (the first split file) from the split files folder and next select the destination folder, where the generated file should be stored.

How To See Destination URL In Firefox In OnMouseOver ToolTip, Replacing The Alt Text Of Link

In Firefox or for instance any WebBrowser, on mouse hovering over a hyperlink shows the Alt Text of the URL in the tooptip, and the destination of the URL is shown in the “Status Bar”.You can replace the Alt Text in the ToolTip box with the destination URL, and there by disabling the Status Bar, we can increase the Screen Area.

This can be easily done in Firfox using URL ToolTip Firefox Addon.Download the addon, and the next time you can see the destination URL in the tooltip.The URL Tooltip, can also be customized with Font Size, and long URL’s can be wrapped by setting the the values from the addon’s Settings.

My Thoughts about the addon : It would be great if the addon could also expand short URL’s making it easy to know about the destination URL.The addon works with Firefox 3.0+

Similar to browser sessions, that can be restored with all tabs and windows in case of a crash of the browser, One can also do the same the functionality of restoration of windows, applications and processes in Windows OS using a tool called SmartClose.For Ex., Installations requiring to close open applications to minimize conflicts.

SmartClose can take a system snapshots of the current state of the system, so all the programs that have been closed can be easily restarted later by SmartClose.It can close all running programs, disable the screen saver and halt all other processes that can interrupt any process, and using the ‘system snapshot’ taken before closing the processes/applications can be restored and opened again by SmartClose Restore Wizard.
