MEN Micro's latest development would be the 3U CompactPCI single-board computer (SBC), where it packs the punch of a low-power Intel Atom XL processor alongside an onboard FPGA for user-defined functions, making it the first SBC of its kind that boasts such capability. Also known as the F11S, it offers a new range of design flexibility that targets industrial, embedded mobile, railway and transportation applications. Capable of operating across an extended -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C (-40 degrees F to +185 degrees F) temperature range thanks to a redesigned heat sink, this is one tough cookie that boasts a COM interface, a D-Sub connector, a couple of USB 2.0 ports, VGA or UXGA graphics and a PS/2 interface. Available as conduction- or convection-cooled, the F11S sure ain't cheap with prices starting from $1,443 upwards while running on Windows or Linux platforms.

Garmin Asus M10, Second Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Handset

After seeing the first WM 6.5.3 handset announced, Sony Ericsson’s Aspen model, we’ve already got news regarding the second phone running this OS, Garmin Asus M10. The device gets pictured below and apparently it got reviewed by Mobile01.com

The M10 packs a 600 MHz Qualcomm CPU, a 3.5 inch WVGA resistive screen, 4GB of internal memory and a 5 megapixel camera with fixed focus. On the specs list you’ll also find 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi, USB 2.0, AGPS support and the ability to play back most media formats.

Nokia 5730 XpressMusic receives v200 update

Finally, the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic has received its v200.12.87 update where you can get it over the air as well as through the Nokia Software Updater, where the latter is used most probably in the case of other parts of the world where there is still on concrete facilities available to obtain a decent 3G connection wherever you go. Needless to say, tradition dictates that network-branded phones will take a longer time to receive this official update. Among the changes made in this new update would be having a better version of the Web browser as well as a slew of performance tweaks to make the user experience more memorable.

Nokia C6 Mid-Range QWERTY Phone Leaks

After seeing the Nokia C5 handset leaked yesterday, today we’ve got a shot and some info concerning the Nokia C6 model. This is a QWERTY phone, packing a 5 megapixel camera and speculations claim that this in fact the Nokia Mystic model, leaked a while back.

Nokia C6 runs Symbian S60 3d edition and its QWERTY keyboard looks like the ones on the E Series devices. The handset supports UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, it’s supposed to cost around 200 EUR and it’ll retail in late May or early June.

AMD outs its latest ATI Radeon HD5450 graphics card, being the most affordable DirectX 11 (and OpenGL 3.2) solution in the market as at press time, retailing for no more than $60 a pop. Despite that highly affordable price point, the ATI Radeon HD 5450 has enough muscle to support similar visual effects as with the 5600 and 5800 lines, although you get lesser stream processors at 80, alongside 8 texture units and a 650MHz engine clock speed. Thanks to the lower clock speed, temperatures won't rise up that fast, resulting in a low-speed fan that won't create a din whenever it is in use. Those who use a slightly larger chassis might want to take the fanless route for a change. Other features include Eyefinity support, dual-link DVI, DisplayPort and VGA.

Nokia today announced the Nokia 6303i classic, a compact device that follows in the footprints of the Nokia 6303 classic. Selling at an estimated retail price of EUR 105, the Nokia 6303i classic comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera, 2.2 inch display screen, and built with stainless steel covers. The Nokia 6303i classic will start shipping in select markets during the first quarter of 2010.

FCC gives nod to Sony Ericsson Vivaz

The Sony Ericsson Vivaz, also known as the Sony Ericsson Kurara U5, has just passed the FCC's tests and will be known as the Sony Ericsson Vivaz U5a instead. It has been approved to play nice over the UMTS II and V bands (1900MHz and 850MHz), which means those who are subscribing to AT&T and Rogers are able to use the Vivaz U5a on their respective 3G networks. Trivia time - did you know that the Vivaz is Sony Ericsson’s second smartphone which will run on the Symbian S60 5th Edition operating system? Before you nod off with those boring details, here are what most people are looking for - its specifications. Expect to find a 3.2" touchscreen display at 360 x 640 resolution, HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS navigation, a built-in accelerometer, Google Maps, Facebook and Twitter integration, a 3.5mm headset jack, a 720MHz processor, an 8GB memory card and an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and HD video recording. No word on pricing though, but you ought to be able to pick this up from the Sony Style shop Stateside.

Hasselblad H4D-40 DSLR has 40MP Resolution

If you are using a digital camera with 14 or even 16MP resolution, you may be feeling pretty smug knowing you have a cam with lots of megapixels. If you are the sort that likes having things with the most and biggest this or that, Hasselblad has unveiled a new medium format camera that is going to give you serious megapixel envy.

The new camera is called the HD4-40 and the beast packs in a 40MP CCD sensor that is almost twice as large as a full-frame 35mmm DSLR sensor. Along with the huge 40MP resolution, the camera also gets a True Focus AF system like the one used in the HD4-50 camera.
The camera has a price tag that is staggering at $19,995. Yeah, you read that right $20K for a camera certainly puts this thing in the realm of pro users with serious money. For your $20K you get the camera body, viewfinder, and 80mm lens. The kit is available for shipping now.

Fujifilm makes more advances with the FinePix F80EXR and Z700EXR digital cameras, where the former offers 12-megapixels of goodness alongside a 10x optical zoom, a 3" LCD display, 720p HD movie capture, face recognition, auto picture rotation and something that we've not come across until today - Pet Detection mode. Well, basically pets here narrow down to just a cat or a dog, so those who keep other exotic lifestock shouldn't feel discriminated against. With Pet Detection turned on, it will "recognize" your furry friend by modifying shooting conditions in order to obtain the best possible image with each shot. As for the Z700EXR, its most interesting aspect (apart from the Pet Detection mode) would be a 3.5" touchscreen display, although expect that feature to drain your battery faster than usual. No word on pricing or availability for either at press time, bummer.

iPhone firmware update 3.1.3 available now

The iPhone OS gets an update today, via an iTunes update – it’s not totally mind-blowing, but according to the changelog, improved accuracy for the 3GS battery meter, third-party app launch crash fix, and resolving of some bugs with the Japanese Kana keyboard are in store for iPhone users.

We’ve heard reports that this new update possibly will mess up your jailbreak from blackra1n and others, so users may want to wait out this one, until we get a heads-up.

Dell Latitude 13 unveiled with thin profile and Vostro 13 looks

Late last year Dell pulled the wraps off a dead sexy Vostro V13 notebook aimed at business users that looked like the Adamo with a thin profile, but packed a price more like a netbook. Dell has now unveiled another new computer aimed at the business users that looks a lot like the V13 called the Latitude 13.

As you might guess from the product name, the notebook has a 13-inch screen. Dell calls the machine the world’s thinnest 13-inch commercial client laptop. The machine differs a bit in style from the Vostro V13 and packs in some pre-installed business centric software.
The machine ships with a Citrix client installed making it ready for virtualization right out of the box. Other features include WiFi, WWAN options, and an optional external Blu-ray drive. The machine lacks an internal optical drive. CPU choices and pricing are unknown at this time, but I wouldn’t expect it to be too out of line with the $450 price tag of the Vostro V13.

HTC’s plans for 2010 are all about Android, as far as we know, but they haven’t quit the Windows Mobile game just yet. What we’ve got on our hands right now is a fresh render of the HTC Trophy handset, that you can check out below.

This Windows Mobile 6.5 candybar’s picture was created in Photoshop by xda-developers member ElCondor, who did a pretty neat job with it. The device packs a 3 inch VGA capacitive touchscreen display, a full QWERTY keyboard, a Qualcomm MSM7227 600 MHz processor and a 5 megapixel autofocus camera.
The smartphone’s specs list also includes WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, dualband (900/2100) WCDMA/HSPA and quadband GSM/EDGE connectivity, plus a microSD card slot and a G-sensor. 512MB flash and 256MB RAM are also on board, as well as a 3.5mm audio jack and microUSB port. HTC TouchFLO 3D UI handles the interfacing aspect and we’ll probably see this little beauty making the rounds at MWC 2010.
