iPhone 4G Design by Seraphan Gets Original Dock and Package

ince we’re so fond of iPhone 4G concepts, why not stop for a minute and have a look at the design of the next-gen iPhone’s package and dock? Created by Seraphan, the same dude who made a very neat iPhone 4G a couple of days ago, this new package keeps the Apple styling, with the dock also being pretty sleek and cool.

The handset’s box has a very sci-fi look to it, while the dock is very slim and fancy, perhaps even a bit too fragile for our taste. One thing is for sure: this iPhone 4G concept package is more protective than the one of the previous models. What do you say?

As the name implies, a set of A30s comes with three different cable adapters that'll work with pretty much any game console or handheld you've got, including the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, iPhone, Nintendo DS or PSP, and you can even answer the phone with it. While that may not sound so useful at first, consider that consoles aren't universal — the Xbox forces you to use a proprietary headset.
Other than its adaptability, the A30 has a dual mic: a roll-out one for playing games and Skype, as well as an inline mic for those aforementioned calls. The Astro A30 Cross-Gaming Headset supports Dolby 5.1 sound and ships for $150.

Samsung's upcoming handset, the Sunburst, will be arriving this coming March 21st over AT&T, where this full touchscreen phone will feature a wide range of customizable widgets, a 3" touchscreen display, a full browser experience, Smart Unlock, a 2-megapixel camera with video recording capability, mobile e-mail support Bluetooth connectivity, AT&T SocialNet, AT&T Mobile Music and AT&T Navigator. If you are interested in picking this up, the Samsung Sunburst will retail for $39.99 after a 2-year agreement as well as a mail-in rebate.

Nokia C6 shows up

Less than two weeks ago, Nokia officially introduced the Nokia C5 as its first Cseries phone. The second Cseries handset might be the Nokia C6, which has allegedly appeared in a rendering suggesting that it’s definitely not the Nokia Mystic, as initially believed.
Said rendering shows a touchscreen phone with a sliding QWERTY keyboard – some sort of a mix between the Nokia N97 and Nokia 5230.
The C6 was approved by the FCC at the end of February, and this new image does match the sketch the FCC provided, so it seems to be the real deal.

There aren’t too many details about the features of Nokia C6, but it’s said that it only has 256MB of internal memory. The C6 should be available in Europe starting this spring.
In semi-related news, Nokia has apparently canceled the release of its Booklet 3G in France because it was too expensive (€749 – about $1,030).

SpeedTraps is a free app from AROBS Transilvania Software that can transform your iPhone into a feature packed speed camera warning system. Using the iPhone’s built in GPS, SpeedTraps will notify you as you approach any fixed speed cameras (camera positions provided by www.POIplaza.com).

Features include audio and visual alerts for when you approach a speed camera. The volume, can be either subtle or loud, and the range of the alerts can be set from 100 to 3000 meters to suit your driving style. With the maps feature, using either Google Maps or Open Street Map, the speed cameras can be displayed visually to allow an overview of your journey. A really helpful feature when route planning before you leave home or if you do not have a safe way to access your phone whilst driving.
The database includes fixed camera locations for United Kingdom, Austria, France, Germany, Hungary and Romania. The ability to add and edit new camera locations, for temporary cameras or mobile speed traps, is a really great feature that improves the overall reliability of the database.
In addition, the developer has promised “Custom Database File Uploads” which will be available in next version.

Bluetooth 4.0 has new features

As with any updated specification for a standard, Bluetooth 4.0 is no different as it sports a couple of notable improvements including the ability to be used in low-power devices such as watches and pedometers that are powered by coin-cell batteries. This is a definite step forward since its predecessors could only handle triple-A or larger-capacity batteries at best. Apart from that, Bluetooth 4.0 will adopt low-energy specification (Ble) for “the transmission of small bursts of data in addition to the high-speed data transfer capabilities introduced with Bluetooth 3.0 last April.” While most of the world is still rocking to Bluetooth 2.1, expect to see devices sporting the new Bluetooth 4.0 specification to hit the market by the end of this year.

iGo has gone Android today, so you’ll be able to use iGo My Way on your Nexus One or Moto Droid soon. The software comes with stunning 3D visualization, sophisticated route calculation, precise voice guidance, lane assist and optimized in-car use.

iGo My Way is the complete 3D navigation solution for Android, supporting 40+ application and voice guidance languages. Gaps in coverage are non existent, since the maps are part of the application, so they don’t depend on cellular coverage. The software is very user-friendly, relying on an UI packed with large buttons and simple icons.

Landmarks will be shown in 3D, specially in the case of valleys, hills and mountains, for a more realistic mapping. Junctions will also be shown in 3D and we learn that iGo My way calculates routes to the chosen destination, displaying them together with important info, like estimated travel time and distance.

FlyCast Mobile has been one of the most popular internet radio apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Now, it’s gone. FlyCast.fm has completely revamped the interface and released their creation as FlyCast Select, giving the user a new icon look and the ability to create his or her own favorites list.

All the usual radio stations and audio podcasts can still be found. In addition, you can now watch video podcasts from ABC, CBS, CNN, and others over WiFi or 3G. Other enhancements include better load times and more efficient battery consumption.

Another interesting feature with FlyCast Select is the ability to Tweet or E-Mail an URL of your current station to your friends for their listening pleasure.
