Serious IE ActiveX Vulnerability Discovered

Microsoft has warned for Internet Explorer (IE) vulnerability has been discovered and Microsoft still working on patch for this vulnerability. The exploit can hijack a computer remotely if the victim simply visits a compromised a web site through Microsoft's Video ActiveX Control.

The exploit can only attack users running on "Windows XP" and "Windows Server 2003". The Vulnerability affects IE6 and IE7 but not IE8.

For the mean time, Microsoft has released a temporary work around for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003.

On June 13, 2009 at 12.01 A.M (Eastern Time), you can grab a username of your choice that redirect to your Facebook profile. The social network will let users choose an alias or username for their profile on first come, first serve basis.

Requirement:

Your profile must be live on Facebook to May 31, 2009
Have a minimum 1,000 fans

Guidelines:

Create a username that is close as possible to your public figure and business name.
Usernames are not transferable.

Note:
Once you have claimed a username by clicking the “Set Username” button, it is not possible to edit it, or to transfer your username to a different account on Facebook.

AutoRun changes in Windows 7

The Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) has announced that Windows 7 AutoRun will have changes.

Many malware and viruses is taking advantage of the AutoRun functionality as a spread mechanism. AutoRun purpose is to provide a software response to hardware that inserted by the user.

The Windows 7 engineering team made 2 important changes:

AutoPlay will only support CD/DVDs but not for USB drives.
Clarify that the program being executed is running from external media.

Note: In the following example for a USB flash drive that has photos, malware registers as the benign task of “Open folders to view files.” If you select the first “Open folders to view files” (red box), you would be running malware. Wallpaper change into "Warning!"
Can not change desktop wallpaper
Can not open Task Manager.

How to remove this trojan:

Uninstall this files located in "C:\ Program Files\Antispyware 2008\Antispyware-2008.exe"
Go to "My Computer" or "Computer". Access your "C:\windows\system32" folder.
Find this file named "ntdll64.dll".
Delete this files.

The name of the trojan may be different. It is Usually named "Antispyware" or "Antivirus".

Kaspersky, BitDefender, F-Secure then Symantec vulnerable to SQL injection

Kaspersky USA has been hacked using SQL injection. The table that the hacker get from the database is personal details and activation code.

BitDefender Portugal also ones who needs to secure their database. The manage to get the reseller information for BitDefender product.

F-Secure is listed on the hacker vulnerable to SQL injection and Cross Site Scripting. For F-Secure, it just some statistics regarding past virus activity.

Symantec have to took the site down after a hackher name Unu, claimed that he found the bug in Symantec Document Download Center.

Will there be another Anti-Virus site that is vulnerable to SQL injection? How about Avira, AVG or PC Tools?
